I own a bookkeeping firm and was looking for a way to be notified when my clients uploaded their bank statements to our shared Google drive. I was under the impression that Google Workspace sends notifications, and had that setting turned on but it never worked; I have peers who experienced the same issue.
Started searching for why I wasn't getting notified, and found a solution in Google forums. Enter my new hero app, zzBots.
Before I got zzBots set up I was spending several minutes each week looking for uploaded bank statements from clients, granted it's only a few minutes but those minutes add up!
It took less than 10 minutes to get signed up with zzBots, set up my first bot (Google Drive Shared Files > Send Emails), and uploaded a file to test. WOW! Within seconds I got an email telling me a file was uploaded, plus the email includes a link directly to the file, and the file is attached to the email.
Now I can go about my other tasks, and when my client has time to upload documents, zzBots sends me an email. I have to admit zzBots has been removed a source of frustration because I'm no longer spending time looking at empty folders. :-)
Today I needed to monitor a different folder and didn't see how to do that right away. I opened a chat and Lorin was available chatting within seconds. I'm still on the free plan, but I am actively looking for ways to use zzBots to help streamline other parts of my business. Grateful and thankful to zzBots! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
