"Best all-in-one code editor to exist"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

From my use till now, I think VS code has never been left out of any features. It is filled with features that a developer needs. Thanks to the features of adding extensions which really help users to integrate hundreds of 3rd party tools. They have an amazing and always helping the community. The UI is simple and straightforward. Also, they have very good documentation and support for mostly all languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes, compilers face tough issues when checking multi-language code, identifying errors, and highlighting code that should not be highlighted. Also, there are situations when the compilers crash. There's a scope for improvement in the live share features. Also, beginners face difficulty to install a compiler on the VS Code and its integrations. It would be great if VS Code could just ask the user to tick all the 3rd party services and compilers that the user wants and then VS Code could do that for the user. That would save so much time and efforts of the user to integrate it with VS Code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An amazing lightweight and easy to use code editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio code has a straightforward and easy-to-use interface that makes it fast and responsive. Thousands of plugins are available, making it very useful even when you use multiple programming languages and frameworks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The trust file pop-up can be annoying sometimes and the linters don't work as expected highlighting issues which don't really cause errors after compiling. The linter issue might be a problem with the plugins though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All In one Editor and More ..."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is known for its wide variety of plugins. As a full-stack developer, I mostly use VSCode for front-end development purposes. It has a great way of formatting code and for HTML page design It has a great plugin called Live-Server which displays the page right away on your Browser. Apart from Frontend development, vscode can also be used for coding and practice of Competitive coding as It has minimal setup requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

VSCode however is not helpful while doing java spring boot development for which we may use Eclipse or Intellij platforms that comes with a great setup for Application development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best free and open source code editor for Javascript"

I like inbuilt typescript support and ability to install from many extensions. Github copilot is nicely integrated with vscode. Can also connect with remote servers easily to develop remotely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Some extensions have bugs in which Javascript engine breaks and type and error checking breaks. Third party extensions often have some bugs which is annoying Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code has been a fantastic tool for personal & work projects!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The best thing about Visual Studio code is that you can easily add extensions to eliminate and minimize redundant steps once you're in your workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I would have to say my least favorite thing about Visual Studio Code is that there could be more support for front-end devs. I think this tool could benefit from integrating designs directly from Adobe Creative Suite (similar to brackets) to help minimize the tools that a front-end dev would need to develop an app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
