"Visual Studio Code for Almost everything."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The light weightiness combined with the ability to add numerous extensions to vastly improve the workflow. Integration with Git and other tools are really flawless. Supports various languages and technologies with community support for all those technologies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing much to dislike with my usage. May be a little slower when because it is written using Electron. Otherwise a fine application. People who expect too much speed can be a little disappointed. But good enough for every one else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the nicest editors out there"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is very lightweight and easy to use. Because it is based on the idea of extensions, it is very customizable and have a strong community behind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There is not much to dislike. One of its main limitations is dealing with large files. This is not a problem for other editors such as sublime or BBEdit. However, I don't think this is the main focus of this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy and clean way to run SOQL"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

This tool gets me access to Salesforce queries (SOQL) easily. It's fast and more stable and reliable compared to the developer console or workbench on the Salesforce cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Nothing that I dislike so much so far. I am still in the early user of the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best tool for javascript projects available."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

There is a plug-in called live share that allows users to live code in the same codebase which is very helpful when debugging or pair programming. It is also pretty light weight so does not cause a big hit on computer resources like most full fledged IDEs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There is really nothing major I dislike but something smaller would be a built in linter that does not require you to use a plugin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"great job, I love using it"

first of all, it's very easy to install and time-saving, it is very lightweight and free to use, supported on Linux and windows as well. I am completing most of my .net projects using visual studio code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

honestly, I don't think there is anything about this software I personally dislike. I believe, it has everything I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS Code is easy and intuitive to use"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The IntelliSense (Microsoft's implementation of code completion) feature is extremely helpful; when you just can't remember something and don't want to spend time Googling, VS Code's IntelliSense feature really comes in handy. Since VS Code is open source, any developer can contribute to make the product better by writing extensions. The search feature is amazing; everything is very intuitive and laid out very well. It's one of the best code editors I have ever used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Some of the extensions don't work as they should, but that's probably to be expected. Extensions can be rated and reviewed, so that can help you get on the right track in choosing/using an extension. By default, VS Code doesn't contain a feature to open an .html file in a browser on your computer, which I find strange. However, there are extensions to help do this, but I'm not sure why it's not automatically included. I think there should be an embedded browser in VS Code to automatically view .html files in real time with development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome code editor from Microsoft"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The bests features that I use are:

- The extensions: you can bring extra functionality to your IDE.

- Terminal included inside editor: You don't have go outside the editor to manage Node package or another things.

- Perfect sync with TypeScript. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The native GIT integration, sometimes crash and does not work correctly.

I have not had any serious problems with this editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-use, lightweight, versatile code editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like that it is lightweight enough that it doesn't bog down my already limited computer resources. I also like that it has potentially unlimited functionality with ability to add plugins or even to create your own plugins. Also, it is easy to use from the start, especially because it has built-in Git control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't like that sometimes the plugins are "dumb" and don't have full functionality. Even though it is updated on a monthly basis that doesn't seem quick enough for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Modern, and Fun to use"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The speed in which you can get up and running, and see the effect of your code changes is very enjoyable as a developer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The need for multiple external tools in order to do everything you need in development. In order to see the actual app which is running, one must leave the IDE and use a different tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
