The built-in Git integration and IntelliSense features enhance productivity, making it a preferred choice for many developers. However, some users note that performance can decline when too many extensions are installed.

"Intellisense on any OS and nearly any language"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Intellisense suggestions/autocomplete and debugging for PHP and JavaScript is super nice. I use Linux so I wasn't in a hurry to give this a try, but it's a good IDE. The extensive selection of plugins from the community is cool, too, especially for a closed-source product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I wish it worked with Mono and let me develop C# code on Linux with a built in execution window. It would also be nice if there was an "execute" button that would run my PHP or JS and show me the output in the editor window, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for HTML5 development"

This editor is easy to use with tons of plugins for javascript typescript and css. The Auto Suggest makes dev time very fast and streamlined. It also comes out of the box with version control and git. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Currently there is no global find and replace that I can find Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Code is A Amazing Lightweight IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's super lightweight with having the ability to add extentions to it in order to make your experience unique and get exactly what you're looking for out of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There's not much I dislike about it. Some nitpicky things would be that ctrl+d doesn't duplicate a line or that when you have a bunch of pages open you have to scroll at the top instead of having a drop down list of the pages that you can select from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Bueno pero lento"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like the most are the options you have to customize it; the repository you can access from the application to add extensions is huge. You can practically turn it into an IDE. There are all kinds and for all aspects, performance, aesthetics, for specific languages. It also allows for very fine-tuned configuration, as there are many parameters to configure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The performance, it seems worse to me than many others (Notepad++, Atom, SublimeText). You can have 2 or 3 simple files open, and after a while, it starts to slow down and becomes really annoying. Version by version, it seems to be improving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Text Editor which comes close to being a full-fledged IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

- It's really fast

- Cross-platform support. I use it on my Windows and Mac machines

- Loads of plugins

If you are a front-end developer, this is the best text editor for you Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I find the support for C/C++ a bit lacking.

Sometimes, the plugins act a little weird and make the app freeze.

Changing User Settings for plugins isn't so straight-forward Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
