Visual studio code gives great amount of customization for developing purpose, It is quite difficult for developers who don't know very well to understand and get very well. The shortcut key interface for keyboard commands is very unobtainable and really mixed up.Sometimes some extensions get buggy and fail on startup of IDE and I have to restart it. "One of the best IDE's"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Definitely, Visual Studio Code fulfills my expectations as a text editor.

He is one of the most modern text editors, at least in my opinion. It has different functionalities, you can add pluggins to improve your experience, since you can use them to autocomplete text, thus facilitating and speeding up the time to write several lines of code. You can have several simultaneous tabs to be able to observe several files, regardless of the type of extension that is used. His way of organizing each file per project, is fabulous, you work in a more organized way, and the text search engine that you have works very well, which helps me a lot.

It has an integrated cmd console which is quite good, already integrated into visual studio code. It is very customizable, you can modify the color scheme, adapting to the one you like the most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I have almost no problems with Visual Studio Code, sometimes it freezes while I have several tabs open additionally from the console, but it has been the only thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid, Functional Code Editor"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It works very well. It has an excellent variety of themes and extensions. Very importantly, it works well with Git, and all around does a solid job. Once you get used to the keyboard shortcuts, too (which, of course, you can customize), you're on your way to excellent productivity. And Microsoft making such a good open source tool is simply hard to fathom and impressive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Hard to say I could think of much, but it could use to have more of its Git functions placed in the Source Control panel. It took me a little bit to realize that I could manage branches in Code just because I expected there to be some presence of that function in Source Control. (My inexperience probably also contributed to that, though.) Also, the Electron framework it's based on is still a bit slow on older PCs such as the primary one I have to use. I sometimes miss the native code speed of Sublime, which I have used in the past sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My go to text editor for all my coding projects"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The text highlighting feature and autocomplete (emmet extension) are my favorite parts. There are very many extensions, too if that is of interest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

I don't know of anything bad in comparison to the other options out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best editor and multi platfform"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

This is the best and lightest editor to edit files. It is possible to create some projects, compile and debug different languages (.Net core, Intersystems Cache, etc.). It is a "MUST" in your collection of development applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

You need a lot of manual configuration to be able to use the full potential of the application. You need many third-party plugins to get the most out of it. There is no "initial configuration" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect for any developer"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

One of the best IDE's I have ever used. Much more easier to use compared to Eclipse, lots and lots of plug ins that are always being added. I really dig the dark theme as well, and the yaml editor is not bad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes it can be hard to find what you are looking for, the UX could use some improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good code editor for web development"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is lightning fast source code editor. It has built-in support for Node.js development with JavaScript and TypeScript. So basically it is good for web development. The best part is you can install any number of third-party extensions which helps you in faster development. Command Palette is the one of the powerful utilities of VS Code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There are some extensions which are buggy. But this is more of a issues of extensions that VS Code. Apart from that there is not much anything which I can think of to dislike about VS Code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An editor for all type of Development."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Its very lightweight and power packed editor. Visual studio code offers a great range of extensions for whatever development you are doing, through the extension manager you can install numerous useful extensions. VS Code is very fast, it hardly takes any time to load on windows compared to other editors. Themes are also available. Its git integration is very useful and is something i use the most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Performance is quite lagging at time, since Visual studio code offers great amount of customization, its quite difficult for newbies to understand them all. I also feel its quite expensive compared to other editors. Database integrated projects are quite difficult to develop on VS code.It uses quite a lot of RAM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
