"My favorite IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It's so easy to code, thanks to their great plugins that enhances the autocomplete feature. It also makes it so easy to reference variables and objects from several different files. One other feature that I really love about Visual Studio code is that it shows all the function prototypes, which helps reduce code errors. Visual Studio code has a really cool theme that makes it attractive to code. The built in terminal is also really good. It can be integrated with gcc and g++ compilers easily. It can also be run on windows after installation of the compilers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes, even though I have installed a recommended plugin, it repeatedly asks me to install it again. That makes it a bit annoying. The application is a bit heavy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All in 1 and fast"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

This is probably the best IDE I have used. It is very customizable with extensions and has support for ALL if not almost every language. It also comes in with an integrated terminal which is great for quick CLI commands to boost your development environment! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

For me, this IDE is flawless, but I could say that the debugger could be a bit more intuitive. I had to do some investigation on the configurations to get it to work LOL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One Program Fits All!"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code can take you leaps and bounds above where most other text editors will take you. If you find a code language you cannot write in Visual Studio Code, you did not look hard enough for support or plugins. Visual Studio Code can handle essentially any programming you throw at it, and the community around it to develop new plugins, technologies, and documents for it is just outstanding. Visual Studio Code is the place to live if you are a developer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code does not have much to dislike. The settings are difficult to access at times, and some of the keyboard shortcuts take getting used to. Other than that, I do not have many complaints about this piece of software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great and Easy to Use IDE"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

It is very light weight. Easy to connect with source controlling like Git. Dependency management is also good. It supports most of the popular frameworks. It is a perfect match for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Code Refactoring is not available in some frameworks. I wish we had code refactoring for ASP.Net Core available in VS Code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast & Easy"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Light weighted, fast to loads up. Auto detecting the file types which are opened , suggestion on what types of extension we need to install. Wide variety of availability of extensions. Ability to use GIT integration in editor itself. Multi Theme selection. Being Open source. Auto suggestion that is intelligent is pretty helpful for coding or be it documenting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Some time it does takes time to load required extension based on file types selected in editor. Debugging is some what I felt is lacking. When opened a heavy project of folder it takes a bit time.

Also the ability to stepping in function definition is good but stepping out of function is missing I guess Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code, or VS Code is one of the best IDE's around at the moment. "
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

VS code is a game changer. As a previous user of Sublime text/VIM who didn't really use IDE's that much, VS code was a pleasant surprise. The biggest hits about VS code is the intellisense code recommendations which basically give suggestions for autocompletion as you type, and also add links to your function definitions and calls, allowing you to take a peek when needed easily. Secondly is the terminal integration which makes development and debugging happen in a single window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There is a bug which causes an open vs code terminal to become garbled or blank when you restart your computer from sleep mode. This would require you to close that terminal and start a new one which would make you lose the previous information on the terminal which might be useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
