It provides the command interface . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for frontend and backend development"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like best the extensions and the community releasing more and more helpful extensions for free.

And not just that, but the way you use them, we developers love to use keyboard shortcuts, so it is effortless to use your favorite extension from wherever you are in the middle of that ugly bug you are squashing. I have extensions for everythig, for code snippets, code preview, live testing, syntax, helpers, themes, etc.

There is an extension for everything... You have a problem? I'm sure there's an extension there that solves your problem waiting for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The memory management of some extensions is the thing I dislike most. Some extension helps you with code suggestions, and auto-complete take overeats memory, so you have to make some trade-off on what priorities are. For example, if you are running a DB engine, Docker and Figma, and other apps that require tons of memory, you need to probably disable auto-suggestion extensions to keep the sanity of your dev station. Hopefully, soon there would be some VSC native feature with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best code editor out there which supports almost all languages."
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

The setup is easy, and the interface is very smooth and customizable. The live mode helps a lot while developing a website or debugging an error. There is an extension store where you can download all the latest extensions directly and implement them in your code which I feel is the best feature. The integration with GitHub has made coding life easier as we can pull, push and commit our requests directly through this editor. You can work on multiple projects at once. ESLint feature is very helpful for someone who doesn't know the syntax well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The live mode requires a fast internet connection; it sometimes don't start for long. This tool's performance depends on the RAM as it gives load on your processor, and other functions of your computer may hang while using this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"IDE with multiple features"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

We use Visual studio for c#, but it supports several languages. This is one of the best IDE i worked on. It has C#, VB, C++ all language support. You can easily debug the code and also can analyze the code and bugs.

Syntax errors can be easily detected in visual studio code. Its very difficult to check the definition of functions or check the origin, but visual studio code gives the reference which makes life so easy. you can just click on reference to check the details of the function. Also, performance wise, its really fanatatic. You can also integrate it with other extensions like TFS( team foundation server), SQL connector. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

It will be great help if we can have some inbuilt test harness tools. Especially to test web service or control jobs together.

When you install some plugins or extensions, it ask you to install 2 3 before it allows you the one you want. Its something it needs some mandatory installations before installing the exact one.

It can be good if it automatically can install all prerequisites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
