Jaggaer allows my organization, an academic institution, the ability to procure services from multiple entities and suppliers in one place and send the order to someone else. For example, I do not have the authority to purchase, however, I can create a "cart" in Jaggaer's dashboard and send it to our budget manager so she can approve it instantly. This platform is completely functional and useful, however, it's not the most attractive. The interface is very plain and does not lend itself to any branding outside of our initial logo at the top of the page. The text and colors are not specific to our university to give a sense of comfort when dealing with the platform. This would assist in ensuring we are working with an approved platform and vendor. I find the interface for this tool very confusing to use. There are so many ways to screw up an order--assigning it to someone instead of issuing a requisition, for example. It just doesn't feel user-friendly. I don't care for the search function much, either. It's hard to sort and filter through all of the results to find exactly what you're looking for. I use SciQuest everyday and it does impact the time I can spend elsewhere. Offering streamlined eProcurement, I can manage my sales orders with efficiency and confidence. I often work within the SciQuest platform for quote requests and the process is simple. My favorite aspect of SciQuest is the ability to manage my punch-outs with ease in a very quick manner. The only problem I have with SciQuest (and this may be a problem with my company) is the occasional miscommunication between customer pricing on SciQuest and actual sales costs.
