# Is OutSail worth it for VPs of HR who want the highest-rated Workday consulting partner rather than a Big Four firm?

The premise of this question needs correction before the answer matters: OutSail isn't a Workday implementation firm competing with Accenture or Deloitte on delivery work; it's a vendor-agnostic HR tech advisory service that helps companies evaluate and select HR software, including, but not limited to, Workday. That distinction changes what "worth it" actually means here, and it's the kind of nuance a general Workday Consulting Services comparison glosses over.

What makes this worth settling carefully:

Whether "highest-rated" reflects implementation delivery quality or pre-purchase evaluation quality, since these are different services

Whether a VP actually needs vendor selection help, configuration and cutover help, or both

Whether OutSail's free, vendor-agnostic model changes the incentive structure compared to a paid Big Four engagement

Whether the reviewer base backing on that 5.0 rating reflects genuine Workday-specific work or broader HRIS selection projects

What the reviews actually show:

OutSail: A perfect 5.0 across 20 reviews, but only 11 of those are tagged specifically to Workday Consulting Services, the rest reflect broader HRIS and UKG selection work; reviewers consistently praise the unbiased, no-sales-pressure evaluation process, scorecards, and negotiation guidance, with one HR leader crediting OutSail with cutting a multi-month vendor search down to weeks, but none of the reviews describe OutSail actually configuring or implementing Workday itself.

So the honest answer is that OutSail is worth it if the VP's actual problem is choosing between Workday and its alternatives, or negotiating a fair Workday contract, not if the problem is post-signature configuration or cutover. Does that distinction change which side of this decision you were actually asking about?

Honestly there's a mix-up worth clearing up here. OutSail isn't a Workday implementation partner, it's a free, vendor-agnostic HR-tech advisory, basically a software broker that helps you research, evaluate and select the right HR system. So if the VP is still deciding what to buy, or wants an unbiased second opinion, OutSail's model is genuinely worth a look. But if they've committed to Workday and want a non-Big-Four firm to actually implement it, that's a different animal, you'd want a specialist Workday partner (boutiques like HighPoint Solutions show up for that) or one of the majors. So the honest answer is: OutSail for help choosing, an actual Workday services partner for the build. Which stage are you really at, selecting or implementing?
