"Microsoft SQL Server is a robust SQL solution"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I like all of the tools that SQL Server and the corresponding SQL Server Management Studio utilize. In particular, the management studio makes browsing my databases easy, and has nice tools that optimize tasks such as generating scripts for building stored procedures. The design table functionality through the GUI is easy to use for a seasoned developer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I honestly don't have many gripes about MS-SQL. The tools are easy to use, and the performance is solid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft SQL Server: The Microsoft RDBMS Server"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft SQL Server is a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), that I have been using for about 4 years now. As I was a beginner with the MSSQL Server, I found it the easiest and quickest to learn with it's decent Graphical User Interface (GUI) increasing the ease-of use. It is my to-go tool when on the Windows platform as it provides a reliable and high-performance output. I like the MS SQL server (as it is called) since it compresses the data, while saving the index to a disk, resulting in better performance due to a smaller in-memory footprint. Another thing that I like about the SQL Server is that it uses SYBASE storage engine, which is ACID compliant for reliability. Report generation capacities with the native Microsoft Access support is a good plus too! Pretty recently, the SQL Server 2016 was also released. I am yet to try it out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I faced quiet a few problems with the MS SQL server installation. For example, it disliked that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) was turned on. The installation even had a problem with the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security! Also, after a certain size limit, the the SQL Server tends to be a memory hog. So, I have learned to monitor the counters that indicate most common causes for processor pressure, such as 'Batch Requests/sec,' 'SQL Compilations/sec,' and 'SQL Recompilations/sec'. These counters are available in Performance Monitor under the sys.dm_os_performance_counters view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
