I cannot thank you enough for the flawless technical support that you’ve given me over the last couple of weeks. The titles that you created (Matthew) for the Power BI presentation were a big hit; and the Power BI dashboard extravaganza unfolded on cue with perfect precision. My colleagues were as impressed with me as I am with you. You also did a marvelous job researching the Vice President and CFO questions (Mark) and I know that I didn’t always give you much to go on and recommending exactly software for their preferences. Without your help, I don’t think I could have met the short but urgent deadline. Regarding all for the SQL Server on Microsoft Azure Public Cloud Platform Provider.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

it's easy to write and easy to understand and does the job really fast and gives an instant result based on my query. storing and retrieving data as requested by other software applications—which may run either on the same computer or on another computer across a network

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

some times it gets little slow depends on the load of the data but otherwise, somehow some SQL Server services (VSS Worker for example) stops working immediately I have to manually activate it in order to work

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

if the single data file size of tempdb is 8 GB, and the Log file size is 2 GB, the recommendation is to increase the number of data files to eight (8) (each of 1 GB to maintain equal sizing), and leave the log file as is. Having the different data files on separate disks would be provide additional performance benefit. However, this is not required. The files can co-exist on the same disk volume.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i mostly use it to validate data and extract data from different tables to analyze it.

  ### 16. Powerful database with a really good and intuitive editor.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marko P. | Helpdesk Agent level 2 Managed Services Operations Retail & Hospitality Helpdesk, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Creation, administration and management of the database is really easy, even for beginners. It is fast and stable and it works good with other Microsoft products. I feel right at home when I'm using SQL Server Management Studio. It has a practical UI and of course a really helpful intellisense feature. The problems which my team and I solve require fast response and fast solutions and Microsoft SQL is of great help with that.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The price of the enterprise package might be too high for smaller companies, but I think that Microsoft's target with this product are large organizations/corporations (like mine).

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

This is a product aimed at big companies/corporations with a lot of users and big databases. If you are a small company/team, there are some other more practical solutions. It is rather easy to use and highly practical. I need to stress again how fast Microsoft SQL is - that might a be big factor for some teams like mine.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team handles a major part in administration and management of the database for one of the big US supermarket chains. Without getting into too many details, we run a lot of scripts and queries through thousands of items and transactions in order to find the cause of problems and bugs which happen during customer interactions with the Self checkouts. The speed and ease of use which Microsoft SQL is offering help us a lot and allows us to quickly pinpoint the issues.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Required resources: both system resources and other considerations for maintenance and in-house support can be heavier compared to other solutions.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Because internal developers are well informed in SQL Server, little external support is needed

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically, everything our business does enters this system, giving you a very important access to data. Although SQL Server is a necessary component of NAV, the system needs to run continuously and be reliable.

My company uses SQL for our software application's back end.

  ### 19. A complete solution for all you database needs.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hussain S. | Member Of Technical Staff - 3, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

One of the key feature of Microsoft SQL Server is its installation which is very straight Forward nothing fancy which makes the developer or the user aware of whats this going to install and check and uncheck its feature accordingly.
Other Microsoft SQL Server which I like the most is its prices which are very competitive and cost efficient. And I can tell you this it will bring down your overall cost of operation. So choose wisely.
After all this product come directly from MS performance and security are least concerned issues.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

On the things which personally I don't like is its humongous size which it take during installation on disk.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Yes, as a user of Microsoft SQL I'd Definitely suggest SQL to my peers and colleagues who are looking for solution in that direction.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Due it efficiency and performance the time takes to execute complex operation is comparatively low. Cost effective.

  ### 20. MSQL : A Daily Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sohel S. | System Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The user friendly design with newly added functionalities every year. SSMS is fastest and most popular dbms tool I have used. The most effective functionality for me is add database servers and see all the servers list and execute queruy in different servers at the same time. The SQL server profiler is the best tool to monitor the transactions and we can even view the connection string. Newly even SSMS supports R language integration.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

There is nothing much to dislike about ssms. The only thing is that the software could be more lightweight to maintain more speed. The SQL server profiler could be integrated inside ssms only to maintain user friendliness.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

no where else to look for. SSMS will be the best tool to manage your data. SQL server management tool is the best tool where you can even look at the profiler for detailed information regarding all the transaction.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use ssms to maintain the database while it interacts with our .net application to exchange data. So we use ssms to receive data from webservice, tp put them into our database and vice-versa.

  ### 21. Microsoft SQL server Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The aspect that I love the most about MS SQL server Management is the layout and setup of the databases inside the tool and also how the queries are not case sensitive unlike some other softwares. It allows you to query very large datasets within a very short response time.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The one aspect that I do not enjoy about MS SQL server management is the installation process of the software. The entire installation process is very lengthy and time consuming and requires multiple restarts where is very inconvenient.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

I would highly recommend others to use MS SQL server management for data analytics and business intelligence purposes.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using MS SQL server management to retrieve and manipulate business data on the back-end to provide insightful information that can help make better business decisions.

  ### 23. Best SQL tool from Microsoft family

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** YuvaTheja E. | Lead, Development , Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

MS Sql is one of the best relational databases available in the market currently. As its directly coming from Microsoft its compatible with almost all the applications developed by Microsoft. Its a breeze for .Net developers to make use of it in their applications because of its easy integration capabilities and strong encryption techniques. One would love to write queries in MS sql compared to that of MySQL or Oracle PLSQL. I sincerely recommend it to all .Net developers out there as it eases the pain for integrating another DB because its already embedded in Microsft framework stack.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Nothing as such but I would suggest Microsoft to improve MS SQL comaptibility with other operating systems as well like Linux and MAC-os. Also, Microsoft SQL doesn not support multiple storage engines as one would need a flexible storage system with growing data it would be a good to have feature.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

I would certainly recommend it to all customers and .Net developers for its security and ease of use.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used Microsoft SQL in many of our Applications. From simple credential managing solution to complex transaction data storage solution. It can be used in a variety of ways to enable security and boosted performance while used in conjuction with applications developed in Microsoft stack, ex: Microsoft Visual Studio. Being a .Net developer I always used MS SQL because of Security and easy integration with .net framework.

We need good amount of RAM to properly use this. Sometimes query stucks in between. But our organization provides a great RAM, so we don't have any issue with its speed.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using this tool from past 8 years. I use to manage data feom various products of my company. It is very easy to learn and manage.

  ### 25. A powerful all times standard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier Victor M B. | Infrastructure Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

SQL Server was the mos robust scalable database solution for big environment, and small too with the SQL Lite version. We use MySQL as well but as government institution the application growed up very quick and suddenly mysql was too small to handle all the info (20+GB databases). So we went back to ours beginnings and use SQL for internal an web applications.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

May be the biggest disadvantages are the price and that it runs on windows (not all sysadmins likes to run a windows server, less for web services)

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All our internal government app, and a big web database

  ### 26. Does database management very well

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan C. | Project Development Coordinator , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Microsoft SQL is a tool used to manage databases, meaning it stores data for users and applications to be able to retrieve this data. We use SQL as a backend to some of our applications. Setting up databases is very easy, as well as retrieving data via queries. You can also store basically unlimited amounts of data. Connecting to the databases is pretty easy as well and currently supports TLS1.2.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The speed is usually very fast but I have noticed on some clients with huge databases where there are million of results, no matter how spec'ed out the machine is, retrieving data is bogged down. You have to manage databases to make sure no single table builds up too much data.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Database manage.ment made simple

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Microsoft SQL as a backend to store and manage data for our applications.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Srinivasa T. | Senior Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Microsoft SQL Server is very easy to use and user friendly. Including Data integration and import export are extremely easy. Very good at Execution plan visualization. Based on Execution plan you can review query performance and take necessary actions to improve the query performance. It's easy to use interface will give you provision to create tables with GUI adding keys, Constrains make developer life very easy. Git integration with Visual Studio.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Altering column name seems bet difficult than using GUI

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

It is very good for Microsoft Technologies integration, also can be integrated with other technologies as well. Very good RDBMS and easy to use.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is perfect relation database management target to any kinds of applications. We can leverage On Premises or Cloud environment to use SQL Server. It comes with both Native and Cloud Service. Easy to migrate from one Database SQL Server. Migration from on premises to Cloud also very easy. It's integration with Visual Studio is excellent feature. You can do almost all tasks with the help of Visual Studio. Create Data Base project in Visual Studio and integrate it with Git repository for versioning. Version control for Data Base is bit difficult to maintain but using Visual studio it is very easy to achieve. Data Comparison, Schema comparison, Schema synchronization, data synchronization with SQL Server Data Tools made developers life very easy. One has to try SQL Server Data Tools for Agile development.

  ### 30. Makes Life Easier

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

SQL makes looking for data so easy. Once you learn it, it's not difficult at all. You can put in queries and for us all I have to do is modify the query just a little to get basically everything I need. I learned through LinkedIn learning which really helped me. I was not taught on the job but it was not difficult. The best thing is the data is really easy to read.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

There is a lot to learn. If you don't have a class or take the time to learn it can be difficult. You can not just jump right in and start getting data. It takes a lot of time to learn. It has good information but it does take a long time to learn. It is worth it to learn it though. It is the best database.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

I would go for it. I dont know of any other good DB.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can get data quickly especially when we have some sort of issue. That really helps out when we are in a bind. No other site is like this.

  ### 31. Feature rich, highly tunable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron Beau P. | Architect/Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The query analyzer is a great tuning tool. The ability to embed really anything in a stored proc or an agent job is nice for integrating other systems or using it to manage workflows. Great tools for diagnosing production issues like deadlocks

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The Intellisense doesn't keep up with your changes in the editor. There should be some kind of really good visual tool for building queries. Permissions management is a real chore. It would be nice to have some way to express business logic as a set of rules rather than just write it as t-sql in sored procs, something more analyst-friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Look at the size you need to scale to, Microsoft SQL gets very expensive at scale.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as the hub to move data across enterprise systems )financials, CRM, ERP, etc.). The SSO database is used to encrypt environment-specific meta data (passwords, logons, addresses, etc.).

  ### 32. Microsoft Sql Server Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Som S. | Senior Programmer, Outsourcing/Offshoring, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

I like most the SQL query editor which supports intellisense and provides support of query optimizer and inbuilt sql library. Help(F1) keyboard provides details of selected word. Debugging functionality is wonderful if you have local setup of Microsoft SQL server. Works as back-end for multiple frameworks and programming languages. MS Sql server provides multiple solid tools like SQL Profiler and resource manager. Easy to integrate third party plug ins.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Installation and Setup is time taking and needs some user intervention to complete. SQL query editor has limitation on maximum size of a variable. Debugging is not possible with remote server as i know.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

MS Sql Server is an well organized and efficient RDBMS and it fulfills all kind of database requirement. I like using it in comparison to others.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Database management for our application server. Handling reports and data storage has become efficient.

  ### 33. Easy to learn, implement and use with haste

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

It runs really fast and it has goodfeatures where you can easily filter and sort. Not to mention its good integration and universality

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

There's no actual downside but if I'd name one, I'd go and say that more companies show up in Database services sector and some offer more visual tools and features, not leaving all to SQL query but instead be more user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

For its ease of use and universality, Microsoft SQL is a fine choice

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company has been using Microsoft SQL for years with happiness. We love its speed and integrity. The fact that its almost universal is the key that makes it unique in terms of integration. We use Microsoft SQL to store data, reach data, create data marts and report them in DWH-manner, analyze data using analytics tools, and advanced analytics for forecasting and prediction.

  ### 34. Industry standard powerful database

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

It’s standard. It’s reliable. We run dozens of MSSQL servers for both internal applications and other vendor software.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The SQL servers are resource hungry and will take all you give it. Tuning performance has been my biggest headache.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use SQL extensively for data access and storage.

  ### 35. Easy Query's with MS Sql

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Ability to be able to use a visual representation to write a query, Update and Insert Statements and also all the layout of the management studio is easy to navigate round

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

it has improved over the years but the older versions only allow you databases for free up to a certain size and to buy sql server if you are hitting the limit on the free edition it out prices it for small companies

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

if you are going to be using large databases and these can be created using an application like mysql or other alternative then this may be a better way to go if the features are available if you would rather not pay the price to have a sql server instance

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Restoreing customer databases and also software can be developed to talk to the sql server

  ### 36. Great SQL Tool, But Too Costly

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Microsoft SQL is feature rich with lots of pre-defined functions available for quick query building and fetching data as required. The Management Studio that comes with it is a really powerful tool for managing the SQL server visually.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The biggest drawback would be the cost. Not only the Licensing terms are very confusing the cost associated with server & client licenses can shoot fast and high.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating & managing relational database with MSSQL has been a good experience. It works similar to other SQL software, but has that "something extra" when compared to others.

  ### 37. You can do far better for far less

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Microsoft SQL Server is reasonably easy to set up and administer, and the graphical tools for managing it are relatively good. Remote connections, management, and administration also work reasonably well. Creating stored procedures for programmatic requirements also works reasonably well.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The completely proprietary nature of the platform and the high cost are the biggest drivers away from it. Until very recently you had to run it on Windows, and there are still a lot of quirks to it that make it so that it doesn't support the usual range of standard, and that make it just different enough from administering any other SQL-based platform, that it is difficult to justify choosing it as a platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Use something else, if at all possible. There are plenty of other RDBMS platforms on the market - some of them freely-available, some of them commercial - and most of them are much better alternatives than SQL Server. It's over-priced, with classically poor support, and just bloated for the service it provides. There's literally no reason to use it unless you are forced to by a developer that has chosen to develop exclusively to it.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generally I have never used Microsoft SQL to solve any business problems, I am usually driven to it by the requirements of a particular piece of software that is only written for it.

**Official Response from Microsoft Team:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We will pass this on to the appropriate teams. Additionally, we have multiple SQL Server editions including SQL Express and SQL Developer that are free. https://aka.ms/AA4o51o

  ### 38. SQL for creating automatic processes within an organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

SQL I like that it is an easy-to-use tool and is manageable in every way. There are many tutorials online to be able to create tables, reports, and stored procedures, which makes streamlining processes more fun. Without a doubt, I would recommend it to my colleagues so that they implement it in their organizations to manage all internal data.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Many times I struggle creating reports and it is very complex because you need to know a lot to use this tool at a high level and in the way I want to visualize it. At that point, the tool is not very user-friendly and I lose a lot of time.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

I recommend using this application for daily use so that the organization has real-time and updated information for the reports generated within each area. SQL is easy to integrate with other applications and relate them to work jointly and updated with all areas of the company. Without a doubt, it is recommended as it is an excellent tool.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reporting at the regional level, handling of sensitive data, real-time information, stored processes, that's why the tool is working for me to solve all those problems within the organization. Additionally, analyzing the company's risk with the data helps me mitigate it correctly. It is an excellent application.

  ### 48. MS SQL Server

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

MS SQL Server is a very robust database platform allowing complex queries to be executed

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

SQL Server uses a lot of resources compared to other database applications

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MS SQL Server allows us to perform complex calculations on our proprietary software applications.

  ### 49. Smooth querry transaction and retrieval

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The read and write scripts along with the stored procedure and the query execution is really well with MS SQL compared to other products. We have been using it since the 2012 version and all of them are going really good. With the regular security patches from Microsoft, it helps keep the DB secure as well

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Sometimes when you have Stored procedures which are written in SQL 2012 version when they are compared in 2014 or the current version we see there is a significant change in IO operations and read write operations processing time, we have to record and verify that and identify which querry is now taking more time compared to native. This should be taken care by Microsoft

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Pretty good to go ahead there are not much challenges as with experience Microsoft has been fixing things with patches and giving us more and more features in teh new versions

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the main primary database using MS SQL for our software development. Since its very commonly used everyone is aware about the querry structure as well as stored procedures structure so we dont have to invest in to training the new joinees about this as most are already having the domain expertise. Also we are fetching and storing data in MS SQL where the data redundancy, integrity, confidentiality of data with proper authorization and authentication is already taken care

  ### 50. Microsoft SQL On Everything

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John H. | IT Services Contractor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Over the years, Microsoft finally figured out that MS SQL should run in more places - not just in Windows Server, but regular Windows and now Linux. So now you can just run whatever your platform is, and put MS SQL on it. It even has support for Macs if you can get through that process too.

The management platform is probably one of the most user friendly out there. Click, set this up, add a table, call it a day.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Some things are still esoteric, and you'll have to start looking up basic things. Like "Why can't I log into the machine and need a Windows account" or "How do I do auto-increment"? It's not difficult to figure out, but it's things that should have a "Hi, if you're using this for the first time, these are some things to look for."

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Make sure that you have the instructions laid out. While it's easier than ever to install Microsoft SQL, that doesn't mean if you're running Linux or Mac that everything will just go right. Make sure you have the right versions, patches, and the like before you proceed.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I tend to use it because my clients do. In this case, a client had a custom CRM, and they ran it on SQL. Since there's enough plugins from PHP and C# into MS SQL, it wasn't that hard to make a connection so I could get the data I needed and plug it into the program.
