"Great database to work with"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The capabilities of Microsoft SQL Server are amazing. They have added some very useful features over the years my favorite being MERGE and CTE. I've used it every day for the past 10 years, and the only time it failed under heavy load was back before we upgraded to 2008 version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The SQL Server Management Studio is ok, it allows you to change UI colors, etc. I was able to find a dark theme... But it's a far cry from a true IDE. Although if you are using .NET and Visual Studio you'd probably have a lot more options. Also, I'm yet to find a good way of doing version tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

To achieve some of the things that shouldn’t be hard, are actually much harder (than they should be, e.g. pivoting tables). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The single tool any data scientist needs in their toolbox"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It is flexible....its only confines are based on my ability to program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Does not come with stat packages or any other pre-loaded packages...forces you to have advanced programming skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive System for SQL Databases"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Being familiar with visual studio, the interface is very similar, and the structure of how to build a database is similar to that of building a windows forms application with its design view. I also like the natural integration with visual studio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Only thing that comes to mind is that you have to use the drop and create query to make an edit to a table when I'd much rather use the design view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
