Maxima builds accounting tools that are genuinely well thought out and robust. It’s clear they care not just about compliance, but about making sure things actually work as intended in real-world workflows. The UI is clean and intuitive, and it keeps improving—especially refreshing compared to legacy accounting tools that feel stuck in the past.
The team is fantastic to work with—not just friendly, but also incredibly smart and strong critical thinkers. It truly feels like a two-way street: we work closely together to shape and develop the tools, and they actively incorporate feedback into what they build. They also ship constantly, delivering both customer-requested features and proactive solutions they identify on their own. On top of that, their responsiveness is outstanding, with response times typically within the hour.
From a technical standpoint, Maxima’s integration options are extensive and seamless. It’s been easy to plug into our existing workflows and automate processes without friction. So far, we’ve automated full-cycle month-end close cash accounting, commissions accounting, and investments accounting.
They’ve also built powerful features like a close checklist with a strong audit trail (support linking, direct NetSuite journal entry links, comments, dependencies, and metrics tracking), flux analysis (including an AI-based flux tool that’s still evolving but promising) and account reconciliations that are directly tied to NetSuite, with the flexibility to view all transactions and manipulate data using pivots and other tools.
Overall, Maxima feels like a modern accounting platform built by a team that deeply understands accounting and moves quickly and thoughtfully to make their customers more effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Because Maxima is still an early-stage company, there can occasionally be some rough edges or minor hiccups as new features are rolled out. That said, the team is very aware of this and moves quickly to address issues—anything we’ve encountered has typically been resolved within the same day. The core functionality of each module is solid and works as intended.
More broadly, working with a young company means things can evolve quickly, whether that’s product direction, prioritization, or documentation lagging slightly behind new releases. However, this comes with the upside of an exceptionally sharp team that listens closely, iterates fast, and partners deeply with customers. In practice, the speed and quality of improvement far outweigh the occasional growing pains. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
