I've used LinkedIn job search frequently over the last few years. Short version, did I get a job from a direct linkedin application? No I did not. However the real value is in finding recruiters and agencies , and becoming visible to them. My CV and profile easily became available and I was able to use the network to connect with recuirters and get "on the list" for jobs as and when they came up. The most annoying thing are "fake" or "evergreen" job postings, where an ideal job sits there for months/years and it's clear this is some kind of recriuter honey trap. You apply and get no response, and the ad is refreshed every 2 weeks or months. Second to that are the number of "promoted" postings which can someitmes be several pages of results before you reach the "real" results, e.g. posted in the last 24 hours/1 week. It almost makes it unusable as a search.
It's also a shame that even though the search as a number of features, there is no option to filter by things like "public transport travel time" or "open to remote from my location". Also salary expectation, even "blind" something like "above xxx" would work better than applying for a job, and getting excited only for the recruiter to reveal the pay is half the going rate.
