"The best platform for Git"

- It provides great support for students as all accounts linked to an education email receive free private repositories.

- Offers analytics and data visualization regarding the commits done, collaborators contributions, and general changes to the code.

- GitHub allows users to star a repository so they are notified any time a change is made or to find it more easily next time.

- You are able to create project boards to aid you organize your work.

- Beginners can easily get into git as GitHub has available resources and documents on how to do most of the things you need.

- You can integrate your GitHub repository with deployment services so you have the source code of an app in the same place where you version control it.

- You can share your repository with others to make an open source development. It is easily managed by the user friendly forks and pull request interfaces.

- Enterprise version is valuable for a Software Company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

- If you are a free user, you have your code exposed to the public eye as you need to pay to get private repositories.

"GitHub guarantees a secure backup of your codes in the cloud."
What do you like best about GitHub?

The ability to allow several users and programmers to work on the same project from the same code and anywhere in the world. Maintains the original code for merging changes after the project is completed. It has a very easy interface for all users and new programmers. On the other hand, one of its main advantage is to safeguard all codes in a secure way for organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

The tool does not have accessible user packages, the cost per user tends to be high and causes a restriction in organizations as they cannot count on plans with payment facilities for said tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best git provider"
What do you like best about GitHub?

Github is the easiest tool to manage your git repositories. It provides unlimited public repositories and since jan 2019 they started free private repos too (Thumbs up github). Github interface is easy to manage, edit changes and commit on the browser itself. The best feature of github that i like is pull request, they are great tool for collaboration and the interface is very user-friendly even new users learn it quickly.

Githubs also have other handy tools such as git pages and gists which are cool features too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

The only thing that i dislike is if you some private info to a public repo its a hassle to remove that info from your repository Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best git to manage project code!"
What do you like best about GitHub?

GitHub is super easy to use, interface is really easy to understand and its super clean! It has alot of features to help the developer save time for example collabrating with my work team mates, we can work on clients projects and dont worry about conflicts on the code, it has a really good bugtracker to track every bug or issue on your code, GitHub is free to use and has huge community to help you improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

There is absolutely nothing i dislike about GitHub, its perfect for developers, the only thing i think it's pretty anoying is you have to be pro to create private gits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GitHub- Best tier software development versioning platform"
What do you like best about GitHub?

A team can manage its complete software development online- where every team member gets the remote access to the software. This improves collaborative working and makes project management easy. It is also easier to rollback to previous state as GitHub maintains version history of a repository. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

I haven't really discovered any major point of disliking GitHub, but for a naive user it is not always easy to solve merge conflicts, one has to have knowledge of the push and pull features of GitHub functions. Thus spending time to learn basics concepts of version software system is necessary. Also, it could improve by providing a walk-through of the complete workflow used to maintain a git repository to its new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A clone version with security to the depository...!!"
What do you like best about GitHub?

A project manager to share projects just with a click i.e Pull Request and Fetch Origin. A fruitful way of handling a bunch of projects of a team within a single software. A team project as a depository is a way too easy task to search and glance to the whole work with no time waste on data transfer or local search. No glitches available to use as a multi tasking software in any operating system. Changes made can be referred to easily by the color differences present in the software itself. Listing of files is also too easy to refer to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

Not such greater issues handled or seen in this much time with git hub, but sometimes it happens that on Pushing more edited data live makes the system lag for a while and also some glitch faced while using it over a long period of time. Except this can't find any error or problem using it. Still a best platform to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Github VCS"
What do you like best about GitHub?

We can store all the personal projects, no need to worry whether it will be lost or not.

It can store any kind of language project. It is quite easy to use both its command line as well as its GUI.

Github has so many open source projects which help in getting started with some new concept, even you can discuss over raising issues etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

If someone is not that much technical then its command line will be quite hectic to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"High availability, easy to use, everything is well documented and i find it very useful!"
What do you like best about GitHub?

Well what can i say, GitHub is amazing! one of the best thing about using GitHub is collaboration features such as project read me, wikis, commit history, pull requests, issues tracking, i just like how everything is so simple to use and helps the developers to work very simply without any problems! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

Well i thing the only problem i faced on GitHub, is there is no good explaination how to add local git, so i had to google each time to learn how can i do it and copy some commands.

Thats not GitHub fault at all but i think a simple explanation how to things page would be awsome! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Couldn't do my job without it."
What do you like best about GitHub?

Ease of use; integrations; massive amount of documentation and tutorials. I can seamlessly add this to any piece of dev software I use, and it just works. There were no issues integrating it with our current systems and getting users onboarded. I am able to watch and like the code of those I respect in the industry and collaborate with other open source platform developers without having to go to a proprietary forum or any weird site. It just makes sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitHub?

The interface can be clunky at times, and it's owned by Microsoft. Other than that, I think the only downsides are that there's so much to get lost on in the platform. You can quickly go down a rabbit hole looking at other people's code. PRO TIP: don't star everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
