**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

The support team is highly responsive and readily available, making it easy to resolve any issues efficiently. The relational structure of the database allows us to organize, connect, and locate information quickly. The user interface is intuitive and straightforward, which minimizes training time and enables users to work more efficiently. Additionally, Dynamo integrates seamlessly with our other systems, streamlining workflows and reducing the need for manual data entry.

I would like it to be simpler to view information from several entities all in one place.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enhancing responsiveness and problem resolution has been a significant benefit, as the highly available support team ensures that issues are addressed promptly. This quick resolution minimizes downtime and helps keep our operations running efficiently.

Accessing and utilizing information is also straightforward. The relational database structure allows us to link related records and easily find the data we need, which in turn supports more informed decision-making and enables us to deliver more personalized customer interactions.

Our daily work has become more streamlined thanks to the intuitive and uncomplicated user experience. The reduced learning curve means team members can concentrate on their responsibilities instead of spending time figuring out the system, leading to greater productivity and consistency throughout the team.

Additionally, the seamless integration with our other systems means Dynamo helps us centralize information, cut down on duplicate data entry, and establish smoother, more cohesive processes across the business.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

It is great for centralizing all internal and external documents for External Managers (public and private markets). Tracking all funds (prospects and active) in one database. Tracking attributes for existing managers. Outside of Investment Teams that are primary users of Dynamo, Investment Finance is leveraging from data extraction (capital account statements, capital calls, distributions). Customer support.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

1.) It has some challenges => not always intuitive to the users, duplicated filing by dynamo team, dynamo software automatically extracts images from emails and files them under document category "Empty" in our instances. 
2.) Missing files (i.e. account statements, performance files, tax documents) that were expected to be filed by dynamo team. 
3.) Attributes display => some limitations to number of characters and if the attributes are longer then the formatting is not ideal.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In terms of the CRM use => we can centralize all the required information and document management into one database.

Dynamo gives us a true single source of truth for our Strategic Capital operations. All our global investment, fundraising, and relationship data is centralized and accessible anywhere, anytime. The platform’s flexibility lets us tailor workflows, fields, and dashboards to our complex fund structures without overcomplicating daily use. The Investor Portal has improved the investor experience while reducing inbound requests, and the CRM functionality has elevated how we track meetings, manage our pipeline, and accelerate fundraising outcomes. Dynamo’s reporting speed — 10x faster than before — and automation have saved us days of work each month and boosted team engagement around technology.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

While Dynamo’s flexibility and depth are strengths, they come with a learning curve — especially in a large, global organization with multiple fund structures and stakeholders. Reporting capabilities are powerful, but require upfront configuration and training to get the most value. As with any highly customizable system, success depends on dedicating time and resources during implementation to tailor it to your workflows.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynamo centralizes our global investment, fundraising, and relationship data, eliminating siloed spreadsheets and disconnected workflows. It automates key fund administration processes, accelerates investor reporting (cutting four days off our cycle), and streamlines investor communications through the Investor Portal. The CRM functionality has transformed our pipeline management, meeting tracking, and fundraising visibility without adding complexity. Overall, it saves our team hours each week, improves data accuracy, and delivers a better investor experience — all while supporting the scale and nuance of a $80B+ alternatives platform.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

Dynamo has significantly streamlined our workflows across the firm. The most helpful aspect is how centralized and customizable the platform is—it allows us to manage CRM, pipeline, cash flow tracking, fund metrics (like IRR and TVPI), and portfolio reporting all in one place. The Holdings Insight module has been especially valuable for uploading and analyzing quarterly commentary from our GPs, and the ability to build custom reports, like LP tearsheets and quarterly updates, has greatly improved the quality and efficiency of our client communications. We also appreciate the integration capabilities and are excited to start leveraging the fund admin module with our newest fund. Overall, Dynamo has been a flexible, intuitive platform that supports our end-to-end private equity operations.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

One downside we've encountered is with the PMV module—it didn’t fully meet our expectations for modeling complex cap tables and waterfalls. We were initially hoping to build more detailed ownership and distribution models within the platform, but found its capabilities in that area somewhat limited. Like any robust system, there have been a few kinks to work through, especially given the complexity of our fund structure and reporting needs. That said, the Dynamo support team has been highly responsive and collaborative in helping us address those challenges and tailor the system to our use case.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynamo has helped us solve the challenge of managing fragmented data and workflows across our private equity operations. Before Dynamo, our CRM, pipeline, portfolio tracking, and investor reporting were handled in separate systems or spreadsheets, which made it difficult to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Now, we have a centralized platform that gives us real-time visibility into our investments, cash flows, and fund metrics like IRR and TVPI. It’s also improved our client communications—custom reports like our LP tearsheet and quarterly commentary are now automated and standardized. Overall, Dynamo has enhanced data integrity, saved time across teams, and allowed us to operate more efficiently at scale.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

Dynamo is purpose-built for capital allocators and investment teams, which makes a big difference. The platform is highly customizable, allowing us to tailor dashboards, reports, and workflows to fit how our team actually works. The tagging system, integrated email logging, and project tracking capabilities make it easier to collaborate across investors, managers, and internal initiatives. Plus, the Dynamo team has been genuinely responsive to feedback and thoughtful in rolling out improvements. 

The ability to centralize all of our investor, manager, and fund data in one place paired with workflow automation and intuitive reporting has saved us a significant amount of time. It’s been especially useful for tracking nuanced fundraising and relationship-building efforts across a distributed team. Dynamo also makes it easy to track communications and meeting notes, which helps avoid duplication and ensures better follow-ups.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

While Dynamo offers a lot of customization, some of the more advanced features can take time to configure properly. There’s a bit of a learning curve when building custom reports or tweaking the system to fit new workflows. At times, the UI can feel a bit dated compared to more modern SaaS tools, though functionality usually wins out.

Dynamo has helped us replace scattered spreadsheets, siloed communications, and manual tracking with a centralized system that aligns our entire team. It solves the challenge of managing complex, relationship-driven workflows across investors and fund managers by giving us one place to track interactions, pipeline activity, and fundraising progress. This has improved internal visibility, reduced duplication, and made it much easier to follow through on high-priority opportunities. Ultimately, it's helped us stay more organized, move faster, and present ourselves more professionally to clients and partners.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

 We use Dynamo for two functions- Document retention/organization and Investment accounting. The document retention/organization is easy to use and very effective to find and pull documents down. The entire team- CIO, Investment team and Operations all use Dynamo on a daily basis. The Investment Accounting function has enhanced the operations productivity and allowed us to get more information in a timely fashion. I should also give a call out to our Customer support representative Sean and Marc. They have been there over the years supporting us in big and small projects

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

There is a lot more that we can use, just do not have time to explore all of them.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Please note, we have been on Dynamo since 2014. At the time it solved the document retention/organization problem.  Since then we have added the Blog (Internal communications)  invetsment accounting and reporting and other functions.

Dynamo Software is solving several critical challenges for our firm in the Alternatives Investment space. Particularly around data fragmentation, operational inefficiency, and scalability. Before adopting Dynamo, our team relied heavily on siloed spreadsheets, disconnected systems, and manual processes that slowed down decision-making and increased the risk of errors. Dynamo  has dramatically improved data accuracy, transparency, and accessibility, allowing us to make faster, more informed decisions. Its configurable dashboards and robust pipeline management tools give us real-time visibility into deal flow. This has enhanced our ability to scale operations efficiently, maintain compliance, and deliver a superior solution for managing daily operations.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

Dynamo has a fairly easy-to-understand interface that can be amended for each client. I use it daily and the customer support function is also very high quality. I believe that there are lots of features that are useful for a variety of clients, with the Excel plug-in the most useful for me, allowing quick financial analysis and the push of data into Dynamo itself. I'm excited by the future for Dynamo; I think that it could be used by lots of customers, not just funds.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

I think that the controls system within Dynamo was not working correctly initially, so there were a few issues with information being overwritten due to a new download taking the place of the previous download. There were also various instances where I needed support for something that was fairly basic, so a readily available guide (in searchable PDF format) would be useful, if possible.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A place in which a portfolio of companies can store data; it is benefiting me by allowing me to view and download information quickly, performing detailed analysis within a short period of time.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

I would say the relational properties of how it allows data to be utilised is a great way to get teams and firms or our size get more organised and competent in how we work, both individual and collaboratively. Dynamo has shown that simplicity can be achieved without compromising on productivity.

Another great thing about Dynamo is how customisable it can be for someone to administer on the back end, like myself, without operating on code or unnecessary technical restrictions.

The most wonderful thing about Dynamo, actually for me personally, is the team that supported the integration and transition of our crm. The support, knowledge and advice they have provided us is hands down excellent and it makes us feel less lonely when it comes to systems and change management.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

It does take a while to get used to the interface and get users to get used to it. Like with every other software. There's not that much on screen UI help/prompts going on, so it does seem a little bit more hands on to have to explore by oneself, and also navigate the help/support centre.

Also, it would be great to have the data import mechanism work for no PC users operating on Mac like myself. But so far I've been able to switch to a PC just for this need.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just workplace and day to day workflow management. The overall ability to have a 1-place and quick view of how things are going with any contact or company and how these are related to scenarios and strategies the team is working on is just great to see it develop over time, as we use the system more and more.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

Configurability is a major win. Dynamo allows us to tailor the platform to our needs, rather than forcing us to work around rigid, out-of-the-box solutions. We can create user-defined fields to make the  system flexible enough to accommodate customized workflows, data models, and interfaces that suit how we actually work.

Navigation and data access are intuitive. Compared to other CRM or investment management platforms we've used, Dynamo has a shorter learning curve. It's easy to query and locate the data you need, which has made  day-to-day usage much smoother. The platform also includes powerful tools for bulk updates, while maintaining the right level of administrative control—bulk actions are reserved for admins, which helps manage risk.

Empowering admin power users. One of Dynamo’s biggest advantages is that we don’t need to rely on consultants for everyday system updates. Our admin team can respond quickly to user requests, making minor changes without external support. For more complex configurations, the Business Analyst and Development teams at Dynamo have been responsive and reasonable to work with.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

System Performance - Overall usability is strong, and the system performs well for general day-to-day tasks. However, we’ve experienced slowness and occasional lag when running reports or executing complex queries. The ability to capture data and relate it to other data which helps simplify our reporting needs and establishes a golden source of truth. In addition the platform is "open" and data can be ingested or shared with other platforms/sources. The platform allows us to also capture data from connected stakeholders who sit outside our organization meaning we can quickly obtain information and aggregate/report in near real time.

The platform is also flexible and we have customized it for many of our internal process that support our deal lifecycle.

We also enjoy working with the Dynamo team who we have regular touch points with. They are open to feedback and genuinely want us to succeed in our objectives and are continually investing in and improving the platform.

Additional plug ins are the most useful, for example being able to mass upload and edit data via Excel and having the Outlook add ins which does not disrupt our usual workflows. Having the marketing campaign functions is useful and getting insights on clicks and opens helps us to create more targeted content.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

The user interface is a bit outdated and makes it feel harder to onboard than it actually is. For example, products with more modern interfaces like Notion, Airtable make it feel easier to onboard even if it is actually more complicated. Sometimes it's hard to troubleshoot specific use cases just by googling and time consuming to go through all the blog posts off Dynamo's website.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Siloed and incomprehensive information plus manual update. We used to maintain CRM contact data all on Excel, meetings on a different document etc. so we couldn't piece Investor A in the contacts with the record of meetings with Investor A all in one interface. With Dynamo we can put the whole story together and also include background information + appetite on these investors so we know what to pitch to them and when. Previously we also used a manual mail merge which didn't give us insight into engagement so the mailing campaigns helped a lot with that.

When you overwrite information (i.e. update for latest information received) there is no way to go back and see the old information.

**What do you like best about Dynamo Software?**

I like that it is laid out in a way where you can see everything, and you can also change it so that you can see things in a different way, depending on how your mind operates.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

I do not like the way that it is originally set up (but you can make a few changes), and the overall design is just a bit clunky and hard to move around with. 

**Recommendations to others considering Dynamo Software:**

I think that it could improve itself in terms of navigation and how people can use different pieces of information to connect the dots.

**What problems is Dynamo Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I utilize this software for online reporting and examining various pieces of data, as well as ascribing certain pieces of data to categories based on the information that is provided within the system.

Dynamo software can easily be customized and user friendly. I like the software because it is easy to navigate.

As at current status there is nothing to dislike. The software has been the best for me as a user in the company among all the CRMs.

It is highly reliable. Everyone should give it a trial.

Over all the CRMs I have used I prefer Dynamo. The software is easy to use and easily customized and automatically syncs mostly with outlook.

Easy to navigate & input; tracks contacts, syncs automatically with Outlook and can log systematically.

**What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?**

Nothing to dislike - syncs easily to outlook etc. Easy to use across the firm and enables continuity with clients / contacts by allowing employees to access aggregated info on contact history.

**Recommendations to others considering Dynamo Software:**

Amount of detail needed from software; works for our relatively small firm but may need an easier software for larger firm with more employees

Keeping track of contacts & last discussions / check-ins, etc.
