What do you like best about Dynamo Software?

Configurability is a major win. Dynamo allows us to tailor the platform to our needs, rather than forcing us to work around rigid, out-of-the-box solutions. We can create user-defined fields to make the system flexible enough to accommodate customized workflows, data models, and interfaces that suit how we actually work.

Navigation and data access are intuitive. Compared to other CRM or investment management platforms we've used, Dynamo has a shorter learning curve. It's easy to query and locate the data you need, which has made day-to-day usage much smoother. The platform also includes powerful tools for bulk updates, while maintaining the right level of administrative control—bulk actions are reserved for admins, which helps manage risk.

Empowering admin power users. One of Dynamo’s biggest advantages is that we don’t need to rely on consultants for everyday system updates. Our admin team can respond quickly to user requests, making minor changes without external support. What do you dislike about Dynamo Software?

System Performance - Overall usability is strong, and the system performs well for general day-to-day tasks. However, we’ve experienced slowness and occasional lag when running reports or executing complex queries. Performance optimizations—particularly for high-volume data users—would significantly enhance the experience, especially as we increasingly rely on Dynamo as our single source of truth.

Customer Support & Training - Support is generally responsive and helpful, but we’ve encountered delays in resolving more technical or complex issues. Establishing faster escalation paths and improving technical documentation would be beneficial. Additionally, more comprehensive and up-to-date training resources—such as on-demand video tutorials and in-product guidance—would empower users to solve basic issues independently and reduce reliance on support. As an asset management firm, we rely heavily on Dynamo Software for our client relationship management needs, and it has proven to be an excellent tool. The platform’s ability to streamline our communication is one of its biggest strengths. We can easily send out personalised emails to clients, ensuring each message is tailored and relevant, which enhances engagement.

The client tracking functionality is also highly valuable — we can log meeting notes in detail, keep records well organised, and store important client information in one central place. This ensures continuity and consistency across our team, especially when managing long-term client relationships.

What do you like best about Dynamo Software?

The ability to capture data and relate it to other data which helps simplify our reporting needs and establishes a golden source of truth. In addition the platform is "open" and data can be ingested or shared with other platforms/sources. The platform allows us to also capture data from connected stakeholders who sit outside our organization meaning we can quickly obtain information and aggregate/report in near real time.

The platform is also flexible and we have customized it for many of our internal process that support our deal lifecycle.

Additional plug ins are the most useful, for example being able to mass upload and edit data via Excel and having the Outlook add ins which does not disrupt our usual workflows. The user interface is a bit outdated and makes it feel harder to onboard than it actually is. For example, products with more modern interfaces like Notion, Airtable make it feel easier to onboard even if it is actually more complicated. I think one of our biggest pain points has been the questionnaire function. It has changed platforms a few times over the last few years and isn't super user friendly, requiring us to lean heavily on our client success team to get our surveys out.
