## PitchBook Reviews
 ### 1. Varied, Research-Ready Content with Helpful Customer Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathleen B. | Managing Director - Sponsor Coverage, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

The content is varied and useful for research and outreach purposes. It includes UCC filings, ratings information, and a customer support team.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

The data can sometimes be a bit dated and therefore less relevant. For example, a private equity firm’s ownership of a company may be listed even though it was sold a couple of years ago. Because of that, I often have to run my PitchBook data through either ChatGPT or Gemini3 to double-check and make sure it’s current.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When it’s accurate, PB helps me get a fulsome view of the client, including background information, historical financials, current data, contacts, ratings, financings, and pricing.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Thank you for the review and feedback, Kathleen! We are glad to hear you are finding value in the platform. Thank you for being a PitchBook customer!

 ### 2. Essential Tool for Private Equity Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henri T. | SDR, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2025

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I appreciate the vast amount of data that PitchBook offers, which is incredibly valuable for staying updated on private equity transactions and prospecting new accounts. The platform serves as a comprehensive resource, allowing me to view all upcoming and current private equity leveraged buyouts (LBOs) and new financings. This vast data repository aids me in understanding how potential clients might perceive the software I am selling. Additionally, PitchBook provides insightful financial information about companies, which not only enhances my market knowledge but also helps me evaluate the strength of potential employers. The seamless integration with my CRM allows me to easily create and assign myself accounts, streamlining my workflow. Overall, these features collectively boost my productivity and offer strategic insights into market dynamics.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

Sometimes the Salesforce integration is messed up, and not all transactions are up to date.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PitchBook helps me stay updated on private equity transactions and prospect new accounts by providing a platform to view LBOs and financings. It also integrates with my CRM to create and assign accounts, aiding in understanding company financials for better sales and career decisions.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful review, Henri. We are pleased to hear that PitchBook is a valuable part of your workflow and the integration with your CRM has been seamless. Thank you for being a PitchBook customer!

 ### 3. Comprehensive Data with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parker J.

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I like to understand funding history for private assets using PitchBook. I also appreciate the data export capabilities along with the breadth of private information available. It's an excellent screening resource. The data it offers is quite extensive and I'm always surprised at the information it's able to generate and the detail it has on some of the smaller venture-backed assets. It's great in the venture space. I appreciate how I can sort and filter companies to have a really good lay of the land on the number of assets in the space, what their financing background looks like, revenue / EBITDA estimates, etc. Having the ability to gather this information so easily and then being able to manipulate it outside of the PitchBook platform is useful.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

The Excel plugin is buggy, making it practically unusable compared to CapIQ. The data is much more difficult to audit. I wouldn't recommend using PitchBook as a replacement for CapIQ.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PitchBook to access private asset funding history and company information easily. It offers extensive data for screening and lets me sort and filter companies, making data export and manipulation simple and effective.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Hello Parker,

Thank you for the thorough review of PitchBook. Your feedback on the Excel plugin is helpful. We are glad to hear you are finding value in the platform as well.

 ### 4. Reliable Data with a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumit K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I like the good coverage of companies in PitchBook's database and the reliability of the data. These aspects are particularly beneficial for the nature of my work, which involves identifying companies for acquisition, making the quality of data very important. Additionally, I found the initial setup to be very easy.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

The UI is a bit cluttered and makes it difficult for someone new to navigate to the right place.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PitchBook for better analysis, preparing company profiles for M&A targets, and accessing industry data and deals insights.

 ### 5. Great Startup Database with Rich Insights and Useful Peer Comparisons

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

It's intuitive and easy to use. The database is great: the number of companies in it (especially startups) and all the surrounding information—main investors, and pretty much everything else you’d want to know. I also find the peer comparison very useful. Cutomer support is amazing.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

Sometimes I find the market maps a bit generic. They’re great overall, but there are times when they don’t fit my needs perfectly (which is expected, obviously). I couldn't integrate well some features due to some limitations from my IT department

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me quantify people’s feelings through the information available. Even if it doesn’t include data on a specific company, I can still find peers—or even companies at a different stage that have already gone through earlier stages—and use that to infer something useful about it.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Thank you for the detailed review! We are happy to hear that you are pleased with the platform.

 ### 6. Highly Accurate Data, Smooth Transition

I like the accuracy of information provided that makes it reliable. The incorporation details of the businesses are particularly useful. Plus, the initial setup was no hassle at all.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

I cannot find all the businesses on PitchBook.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PitchBook for reviewing company incorporation and business details. It provides exact and reliable information about registered companies, which makes it a valuable tool.

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

Thorough data base, up to date information and can tailor to save the list for what I am interested in

 ### 11. Streamlined Lead Sourcing with AI Precision

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sirmena A. | Regional Sales Manager - UK&I, Middle East & Africa - Inside Sales, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I find the AI feature in PitchBook super helpful because it saves time. I like that the information is gathered from sourced reports. I can just ask for similar accounts in a region who've received funding since a specific date, and they show me several companies to reach out to, along with exact links to the source of the info. The initial setup was really easy, just needed a login.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

I’d say more mobile numbers would be better. I’m not sure, increasing and updating data more often for stakeholders in the accounts.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PitchBook helps me find relevant stakeholders and their contact details, see companies with recent investments, and find similar accounts in specific regions. The AI feature saves time by easily pulling up companies to contact and provides exact links to source information.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Thank you for the review, Sirmena! We are glad to hear the new Navigator function is saving you time. Thank you for being a PitchBook customer!

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

It covers a wide range of data and business topics.

I’m able to access first-hand, official information, which helps me refine my competitive and market intelligence assessment.

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2024

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

The built in AI tool is a gamechanger, being able to mine pitchbook data combined with public data on one screen is immensely powerful. I also like the Meeting Intel feature, it helps get me up to speed as I'm walking into my meetings with great information.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

I wish I was able to afford more seats on pitchbook, more people using the tool would greatly help us.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Build our M&A pipeline, look into former funding and prior acqusitions of targets. Idenitfy public company targets trading too low.

**Official Response from Sally Davis:**

> Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you've found PitchBook helpful in building your M&A pipeline. We appreciate your Chrome Extension suggestion. We will share that with our Product team. Thanks for being a PitchBook customer!

Lately, I’ve really liked how PitchBook’s advanced filters make it easy to narrow down deals and investor activity by sector, size, or region. The visual dashboards are also super helpful for spotting patterns quickly. Plus, the Excel plug-in has made data handling way smoother and faster.

Lately, I’ve felt that PitchBook could be better with real-time updates—some info feels a bit delayed, especially in fast-moving spaces. It’d be nice if there were more quick summaries or context around the data to make things easier to digest.

 ### 32. Initial deal flow guesswork became confident strategy with PitchBook's deep dive tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie K. | Engagement Specialist, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2025

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

The M&A transaction data provided by PitchBook is beyond compare to that which is truly needed by our corporate development team. We have been able to follow individual asset sales and also see the reasons behind complicated carve outs, which aids in us forming better comps. The subsequent search filters also allow us to identify niche technology companies much focused on our strategic diversification criteria very quickly saving us several days of manual market mapping.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

There are times where the fine-grained financial measurements of the private held target, and particularly those below a certain revenue level, are less solid than we would desire and we should look elsewhere to obtain additional information. In addition, the alert system may provide even more customized choices of highly specific types of related M&A events than just broad based deals announcements.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main complicated issue that we had to solve was finding and analyzing acquisition targets in the most fragmented and new technological markets. Responders, we would depend on industry reports that were scattered and consultants were costly in order to know these landscapes and that resulted in a reactive M&A strategy. Today, we have almost real time, all encompassing, visibility into these ecosystems courtesy of sources like PitchBook, which enables us to identify and deal proactively with companies which would be the right fit in terms of long term growth objectives.

**Official Response from Sally Davis:**

> Thank you for your review, Julie! We're glad to hear PitchBook has helped you successfully find and analyze acquisition targets in niche markets. We appreciate your feedback regarding financial data accuracy as well as our alerts features. We have flagged this feedback in our system. Thanks for being a PitchBook customer!

 ### 36. User friendly, comprehensive database

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2025

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

PitchBook provides an incredibly comprehensive database of private and public company information, including financials, deal history, and market activity. The platform’s advanced search filters make it easy to narrow down to highly specific criteria, and the integration of news, research reports, and contact data streamlines the process of building target lists or conducting due diligence. The interface is intuitive, and the export functions (especially to Excel) save a huge amount of time when compiling reports.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

While the depth of information is impressive, certain niche or smaller companies can have limited or outdated data, meaning supplemental research is sometimes still required. The platform can also feel slow or unresponsive when running very broad searches, and some datasets, such as industry comparables, could benefit from more standardisation to improve consistency. Additionally, given the breadth of features, there is a bit of a learning curve for new users.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PitchBook consolidates company, deal, and market information into a single, searchable platform, removing the need to gather data from multiple disparate sources. This not only saves significant time but also improves the accuracy and consistency of our analysis. The ability to quickly identify comparable transactions, understand competitive landscapes, and map potential targets has been especially valuable for preparing client materials and making well-informed recommendations.

**Official Response from Sally Davis:**

> Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you view PitchBook as a comprehensive and accurate data source that saves you time. We appreciate your feedback regarding data accuracy of niche industries and data consistency. We have flagged this feedback in our system. Thanks for being a PitchBook customer!

I use PitchBook to stay updated on public and private credit markets, accessing comprehensive deal summaries on a single screen which saves time. Their research reports and alerts enhance my market understanding and decision-making.
