it can be quite time consuming to replicate the same query in order to update data sets. The mapping of pivot table data is a very long process. Multiple times it double count the deals data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PitchBook has made improvements in the UX, my suggestion for improvements are:
- Make it even easier, new users go through learning curves.
- Occasionally, I encounter minor discrepancies in data that require double-checking.
- The pricing may be a steep call for smaller organizations or individual users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pitchbook provides comprehensive, reliable, and verified research and news on capital markets, industry trends, and investors. Its depth of information is unparalleled compared to other data and organizational research platforms that I have used and researched. Pitchbook offers a vast repository of information on private companies and deals globally, along with insights on investment firms, family offices, funds and manager performance... Its customizable features tailor research to specific needs, providing targeted data for informed decisions.

I really like the data that PitchBook has from private markets. Our detailed financials, market analysis and company profiles allow us to make quick investment decisions based on a straight up view of our potential investments. With it integration with Excel we can easily export and analyze datas in excel and thereby save our time in generating reports. Secondly, it provides us with research tools such as tracking industry trends and competitors as well as giving our team an edge on how our products can sit on the market. A limitation to PitchBook is the ability of the platform to take time to retrieve data especially when working with a larger data set. This lag is really inconvenient when we’re urgently in peril of needed data during the meetings or our presentations. Still, another prospect is that some fields may contain stale information or lack certain data altogether which is why we have to check with third parties occasionally. These are wrong hiccups, which slow our productivity and create more steps to follow in any research we are undertaking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

New users need real examples that are meaningful when trained - they only need to ask! I think this would result in more frequent use and intergration into every day use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PitchBook has data regarding the investors, funding deals, financials, and valuations that no other database covers in such a comprehensive manner. Moreover, the excel formulae make the experience even better with providing pulls for information quickly and efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Understanding excel formulae can be a little complicated in the starting, so can provide some help regarding how it works for beginners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PitchBook’s data coverage on startups and venture-backed firms is the best overall among all solutions on the market and I would know, since I have access to many of them as a research manager that does startup scouting and technology research for a large consulting firm.
One huge advantage is the robust search functionality covering the relatively detailed company descriptions and extracted keywords as well as the classification of firms into industries, verticals and emerging spaces. This combined with the data on investors, deals, patents/clinical trials, people and related reports makes the tool very useful for screenings.
The interface is so user-friendly, fast and easy to navigate that I even use it for searches where other providers may have deeper datasets (e.g. LSEG or mergermarket for M&A deals). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Even though the database is best in class for my specific use case, there are some things that could be improved on or useful features that could be added:
- There should be a detailed taxonomy for firms within software and SaaS (this also applies to some other categories, but is most acute within software), so screenings could also be conducted within more granular spaces (see for example the G2 categories). PitchBook analysts could also rate the firms in the way that tech research firms like Gartner do it.
- There are some features that seem to have been neglegted or could be far more useful if improved, incl. Signals (more details would be better, such as app downloads and breakdown by country), information on customers/references, partners, suppliers and the tech stack of companies, Market Size Estimates Search (not very useful; if PitchBook analysts could model and estimate all PitchBook industries, verticals and emerging spaces that would be great!), Market Maps (in this form not visually appealing and cannot be used for slide decks).
- More estimated revenue numbers and revenue forecasts as well as estimated valuations would make screenings and comparables with financials far more practical. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pitchbooks has the most comprehensive data on global Companies, VCs, PEs, and fundraise / M&A / IPO deals. It's very easy to generate screeners, perform sector scans, find other relevant data on the platform. it also has built-in alerts / watchlist functionality which I find very useful to track companies of interest. Given the amount of data they have on their platform, at times ,the tagging of companies w/r/t their industry / service line is a bit different from what one would expect it to be. But more often than not, it is on point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PitchBook offers a large amount of information with a very broad database, making it an excellent tool for complex financial analysis and market research. The user-friendly interface and powerful search capabilities allow you to search for data efficiently and in detail. The platform's ability to provide in-depth insights into market trends and financial performance is unmatched, and the customer support team is always responsive and helpful. Although the database is extensive, it would be very helpful if PitchBook reviewed and updated company profiles more frequently. Currently, team information is often outdated and email contacts may be incorrect. I use it almost every day, but sometimes the profile for the companies I am interested in are missing. Also, while the interface is user-friendly, it could still be simplified and made more comprehensive. Including video explanations with examples of how to find certain information in the system would also improve the user experience and help new users navigate the platform more effectively. The ease of implementation and integration could also see improvements to further streamline the user experience.
