## PitchBook Reviews
  ### 1. Varied, Research-Ready Content with Helpful Customer Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathleen B. | Managing Director - Sponsor Coverage, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

The content is varied and useful for research and outreach purposes. It includes UCC filings, ratings information, and a customer support team.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

The data can sometimes be a bit dated and therefore less relevant. For example, a private equity firm’s ownership of a company may be listed even though it was sold a couple of years ago. Because of that, I often have to run my PitchBook data through either ChatGPT or Gemini3 to double-check and make sure it’s current.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When it’s accurate, PB helps me get a fulsome view of the client, including background information, historical financials, current data, contacts, ratings, financings, and pricing.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Thank you for the review and feedback, Kathleen! We are glad to hear you are finding value in the platform. Thank you for being a PitchBook customer!

  ### 2. Essential Tool for Private Equity Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henri T. | SDR, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2025

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I appreciate the vast amount of data that PitchBook offers, which is incredibly valuable for staying updated on private equity transactions and prospecting new accounts. The platform serves as a comprehensive resource, allowing me to view all upcoming and current private equity leveraged buyouts (LBOs) and new financings. This vast data repository aids me in understanding how potential clients might perceive the software I am selling. Additionally, PitchBook provides insightful financial information about companies, which not only enhances my market knowledge but also helps me evaluate the strength of potential employers. The seamless integration with my CRM allows me to easily create and assign myself accounts, streamlining my workflow. Overall, these features collectively boost my productivity and offer strategic insights into market dynamics.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

Sometimes the Salesforce integration is messed up, and not all transactions are up to date.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PitchBook helps me stay updated on private equity transactions and prospect new accounts by providing a platform to view LBOs and financings. It also integrates with my CRM to create and assign accounts, aiding in understanding company financials for better sales and career decisions.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful review, Henri. We are pleased to hear that PitchBook is a valuable part of your workflow and the integration with your CRM has been seamless. Thank you for being a PitchBook customer!

  ### 3. Comprehensive Data with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parker J.

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I like to understand funding history for private assets using PitchBook. I also appreciate the data export capabilities along with the breadth of private information available. It's an excellent screening resource. The data it offers is quite extensive and I'm always surprised at the information it's able to generate and the detail it has on some of the smaller venture-backed assets. It's great in the venture space. I appreciate how I can sort and filter companies to have a really good lay of the land on the number of assets in the space, what their financing background looks like, revenue / EBITDA estimates, etc. Having the ability to gather this information so easily and then being able to manipulate it outside of the PitchBook platform is useful.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

The Excel plugin is buggy, making it practically unusable compared to CapIQ. The data is much more difficult to audit. I wouldn't recommend using PitchBook as a replacement for CapIQ.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PitchBook to access private asset funding history and company information easily. It offers extensive data for screening and lets me sort and filter companies, making data export and manipulation simple and effective.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Hello Parker,

Thank you for the thorough review of PitchBook. Your feedback on the Excel plugin is helpful. We are glad to hear you are finding value in the platform as well.

  ### 4. Reliable Data with a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumit K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I like the good coverage of companies in PitchBook's database and the reliability of the data. These aspects are particularly beneficial for the nature of my work, which involves identifying companies for acquisition, making the quality of data very important. Additionally, I found the initial setup to be very easy.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

The UI is a bit cluttered and makes it difficult for someone new to navigate to the right place.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PitchBook for better analysis, preparing company profiles for M&A targets, and accessing industry data and deals insights.

  ### 5. Great Startup Database with Rich Insights and Useful Peer Comparisons

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

It's intuitive and easy to use. The database is great: the number of companies in it (especially startups) and all the surrounding information—main investors, and pretty much everything else you’d want to know. I also find the peer comparison very useful. Cutomer support is amazing.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

Sometimes I find the market maps a bit generic. They’re great overall, but there are times when they don’t fit my needs perfectly (which is expected, obviously). I couldn't integrate well some features due to some limitations from my IT department

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me quantify people’s feelings through the information available. Even if it doesn’t include data on a specific company, I can still find peers—or even companies at a different stage that have already gone through earlier stages—and use that to infer something useful about it.

**Official Response from Josh Zavisubin:**

> Thank you for the detailed review! We are happy to hear that you are pleased with the platform.

  ### 6. Highly Accurate Data, Smooth Transition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kashish V. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about PitchBook?**

I use PitchBook for reviewing incorporation status and more details about various businesses. It gives me exact information regarding various companies registered on it. I like the accuracy of information provided that makes it reliable. The incorporation details of the businesses are particularly useful. Plus, the initial setup was no hassle at all.

**What do you dislike about PitchBook?**

I cannot find all the businesses on PitchBook.

**What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PitchBook for reviewing company incorporation and business details. It provides exact and reliable information about registered companies, which makes it a valuable tool.
