I like Crunchbase because it's very intuitive and makes it easy to filter data with any filters I want, like region, company size, and industry. I can also easily create my own lists or export data. It covers almost every single company or startup that I've looked for and includes predefined lists like top startups in Europe from specific industries. The browser extension works great, showing live data when checking companies on LinkedIn. The initial setup was very easy, so I didn't need additional support or tutorials. I do not like the limits on the amount of companies you can look up per month. Crunchbase is built for people who want to sell things to startup companies but needs to get a list of the companies first. If you want to do that, this is a good tool. It also allows you to export lists to excel or your CRM, and take notes on the companies that you have contacted. Crunchbase is not great at generating the names of people to contact, there are other tools for that. But if you have a widget to sell, and your task is to find startup companies in specific industries like environmental consulting, aeroplane manufacturing, and dentists, all in 3 European Union countries, this data company will get you the names of those companies. The Crunchbase UI is not great. I want to export lists with the same columns in the same order each time, but I have to build that list manually every single time rather than build the template once. I think Crunchbase could probably add in some details in that overview tab regarding head count, size, and scale. It's one thing to look at growth score and heat score, but I wanna know, like, how teams have scaled. For example, how many people are in engineering, customer success, HR, and operations at a company over time? What is the total growth of employees over time?
