**What do you like best about Certain?**

The real time updates on survey's issuing CE/CME credit to attendees is wonderful and extremely helpful to us. Push notificaitons, full schedule, lead retreival badge scanning.. this app is truly our meeting one stop shop. We couldn't have our meeting without it! Very user friendly. Customer support is extremely timely and helpful!

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Nothing comes to mind on things that I dislike.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their survey completion to CME/CE issued to attendee immediately is absolutely wonderful. Takes the "hand-work" out of creating CME/CE certificates and has it avaiable to our attendees immediately.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

I appreciate being able to customize the user experience based on my clients needs. I also appreciate the new products and updates that are regularly administered.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

We seem to consistently hit glitches/oversights that create errors within our forms.  While customer service is strong and problems are typically corrected quickly, coming across these errors as I work urgently to meet deadlines can sometimes be a setback.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to easily build customized sites with multiple pages and advanced functions for our clients. Each event is unique and it is nice to be able to accommodate almost all requests that come our way. We appreciate the ability to process refunds easily and allow for users to re-access their registrations in order to make revisions and/or provide additional payments. This has supported our office with meeeting PCI compliance standards

**What do you like best about Certain?**

I have been in the event management industry for over 12 years and have used many systems over that time.  Certain offers a lot of flexibility.  Their mobile check-in app is maybe what sets them out the most, in my opinion.  This app allows for huge sales teams to get a simple access code (no unique login credentials needed) to get into the check-in and lead tagging features.  This allows the team to easily (and I mean easily) download and access the particular event they are working on.  Check-in is a breeze and very intuitive.  Additionally, they have (from all of my evaluations and testing over the years) the only event platform that has lead tagging capabilities straight from this check-in app.  This means that any of my employees can make critical, real-time notes from customer conversations so that we are ready for immediate follow-up after the event.  I have been using this tool for the last three years and am creating, editing, and managing events daily.  It's incredibly easy to implement across all of our product teams and intuitive API linkage allows us to broadcast our events across our website to localize the experience for our customers.  If there is ever a problem, a quick email is responded to within a couple of hours at the latest.  If it's urgent - I've gotten a call within 5 minutes.  Completely second to none.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

With all that I love about this service, I will say a dedicated power user is pretty important.  The system, as robust as it is, can be very complicated.  Particularly if say it's used across a team and someone is only running a couple of shows a year.  Relearning where everything is can be a struggle if there isn't that POC for troubleshooting or streamlining.  That being said, being the power user does not need to be a full-time job for someone, but know that spending the extra time to set up templates beforehand and make sure that people know exactly all the information to provide when creating an event and it hasn't been difficult on my end.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a robust platform to handle over 100 single day free seminars globally.  We also needed a service that provided self-serve information of registration lists and ability to track customer lead comments during the event.  Certain does this in strides.

There's a lot of customization that we can do with our site, and all the features we could wish for.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Sometimes fixing an error or updating a site requires a lot of technical skill and coding experience. This makes it difficult as a site admnistrator.

Certain allows us to send automated emails, manage websites, create appointment sign-up forms, etc.

Certain has robust in-form logic, and can be fairly well customized.
The support team and account reps are very responsive and communicative and make a real effort to meet our needs.
The tool implements improvements regularly.
There are many available features which can be utilized in complex arrangements.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Users often find the tool difficult to navigate and understand. The best-supported features may not meet your needs; it is optimized for large conferences. If you don't use the tool in the most standard way, you may need to do a bunch of kludges to get by. There have been multiple occasions in which tool updates/releases have caused major issues for live registrations, so my org lacks some confidence in the stability of the tool. Past Release Notes are no longer available for review. The tool-recommended method for registration (sessions) offers no pricing granularity.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Talk to your reps; they are an invaluable resource and very easy to work with.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing registrations for a wide variety of events, from huge, complex high-profile events, to small webinars, to recurring series. Allowing different groups in our org to have their own unique approaches to event-building. Overall, the tool has definitely met our needs.

Certain 's platform offers a lot of out-of-the-box, but also provides the flexibility to customize for our regional marketer's unique requirements.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

You can customize yourself into a corner somewhat easily, which makes support challenging. It would be good to have some checkpoints in place to ensure there isn't an existing solution to meet the same need before creating something custom.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had strong workflows and processes in place that allowed us to pivot almost instantly to virtual (nearly 2 years ago now). In that year alone, we hosted more than 1,600 global events, with only minor hiccups. We've continued to optimize since then and have built on what we learned to make our solutions even stronger.

The Certain platform is extremely flexible and able to meet the needs of our clients - most of whom have specific and varied requirements. The reporting out of the platform is amazing in its versatility, and allows different groups to have different views of the same event with little effort. The support team is usually very quick to address issues or answer questions, and the account management team is awesome.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

The platform does take a while to learn how to navigate, and its very flexibility lends to users making errors or finding it hard to learn how to do things. I also wish they would have ability to automate emails on a micro level instead of macro.

We are able to host events for different levels of clients in multiple locations across multiple time zones, while providing a cohesive and seamless experience.

Certain has a very engaged support and business relationship management team. The platform is robust and meets the needs of our event registration and reporting.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

We have open communication with our business relationship team. We have enhancement requests and dialogues on the troublesome portions. The UI and learning curve for the platform is a bit high.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

The team at Certain is wonderful to work with and very receptive to the varying needs of events. I recommend setting up event templates to make it easier on your event admins.

Certain's automation tools and capabilities are very helpful. Above and beyond what we have in some of our other email automation platforms. Specifically the ability to append fields (and create custom fields) for use across all assets within Certain.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

The UI can be difficult to navigate. I don't find it very intuitive. We've had some additional walk throughs with product owners which has been helpful over time. I do find that the more I utilize the tool, the easier it is to navigate.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Utilize your Account reps, documentation and support teams when you get stuck.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, we were looking for an in-person event platform. The pandemic has paused many of those and we've found other ways to utilize Certain for virtual events. Overall, the automation and ability to reduce manual work capabilities benefits us the most.

Touchpoint Mobile app for event scheduling.  Easy to use and popular with our members.  And we don't have to print a program.  It's a green solution.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Certain contains versatile, logic-based functionality that allows you to customize the event experience & communication for attendees and customize data collection for event managers. Usually, if you have an idea or need to execute a special workflow, Certain has a solve. The support team, customer success managers, and implementation specialists are 100% dedicated to ensuring the software can execute on customer needs. I also LOVE the page help option - makes it a lot easier to troubleshoot.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

While it offers a WYSIWYG interface and a ton of helpful documentation with the Page Help feature, Certain is a very indepth tool to learn. The onboarding takes time and dedication, it's not an easy transition when onboarding new team members. 

I do wish there were a bit more reporting metrics provided with the scheduled email functionality - similar to a true email automation system - open rates, click throughs, ability to get more granular on who is engaging with the email.

You will need a small, dedicated team to manage this platform and truly dive deep to understand all the functionality.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most recently the biggest problem we solved was, of course, maintaining events in a digital capacity through the pandemic. Certain quickly pivoted at the start of the pandemic to ensure customers could continue engaging with their audience/end customers through digital events. One of the major benefits of the software is the customization options and logic-based rules that are built in so your event can cater specifically to different attendee types. It's a great benefit if your org deals with channel conflict or if need to market differently to or share specific information with different audiences.

The platform is extremely customizable. The development team at Certain is also very receptive to feedback. Best of all, they are constantly adding new features/ functionalities.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

The backend can be confusing and isn't as intuitive for administrators who don't have HTML knowledge.

We hold about 500 events or so per year, and using Certain has helped us streamline our customer registration process.

Certain is a platform where you can create all your events in one place. You can customize the event, create emails and send email blasts. Once people register you can manage the registration system and their changes. You also can add details to the event such as tours and various custom questions.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

At times the logic and coding is hard to understand if you are not complex with HTML.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With corona virus going virtual this is allowing us to create our events virtually. The benefit of certain is you can set everything up and manage it under one system. It also allows large number email blasts within seconds.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

The integration with Eloqua and the EventStream capabilities were our two favorite features initially, but I also love all of the new features around content blocks and more modular content in general. I also really enjoy the partnership with the services and technical teams to get creative over the last year accomodating shift away from in-person events.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

I think macro or multi-instance level reporting could be better and maybe have more of a marketplace of templates to start from/pull-down as needed.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our field marketing teams execute 1000s of local events each year and prior to Certain these were only accommodated via manual uploads on other platforms (eg. agency-hosted or island landing/registration pages). This has helped us streamline about 1500+ even in 2020/year of C19.

The template-looking platform and its flexablilty.  In most cases, you don't even need to watch a webinar to learn how to use it.

Its not automatically mobile friend.  Had to hire someone to code mobile-friendly templates for us to use.

Andy Smith is our support sales rep.  That can never change :).

We are a 3rd party planner with many clients.  They all have different looks and feels they'd like their branded reg forms to be.  we can do that with certain.

I like the platform's ease of use. It makes it easy to build registration sites.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

I wish that Certain had dedicated phone support for help.  Having to send an email is not as effective.

Our company is now able to roll out a comprehensive virtual event series seamlessly using Certain Platform.  The benefits are great, as we can help our customers and Certain integrates with our CRM system.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

This platform allows for the automation of business processes to achieve a greater increase in purchase signals based on marketing campaigns. The tools and functions it provides are ideal for marketing specialists as they allow them to decipher and obtain the necessary information from customers.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

It is certainly not suitable for everyone; a good knowledge base is needed to use it. The best thing is to ask for help from a professional if you don't have the information required to quickly learn about its operation and thus start developing your work with it. We have not had negative experiences.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

It is excellent for any type of commercial event that requires specific fields from registering users. I would not recommend it for one-time events as its configuration would be more complex and the time invested would be greater than usual. If you are not an expert or do not have the knowledge to create event pages regularly, look for another option that is simpler to use and has a shorter learning curve.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We implemented an automation in our company to maintain the flow of email regarding the registration of approved, rejected, and pending items, to guide the user on the next steps to be taken. It allows us to create registration forms in a more organized manner, as well as to create types of assistants and registration codes in general, it is very comprehensive. A very good choice, this way we keep the client satisfied and interested.

I loved the easiness of the platform, the availability of reports and how accurate it is. 

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

The difficulty of importing exhibitors profiles to the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Have at least 3 or 4 sessions of practice before using it as a final product.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm doing appointment diaries for IBTM AMERICAS 2019 and also 2018. I actually enjoy that the platform is focused on HB, this way all appointments are based on a funded decision and we don't oblige the HB to assist to the appointments.

Certain is a great platform that allowed us to be faster and better organized on our event execution.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

There is not a dislike, I think there are things to improve or incorporate in the future. Needs change every day and teams evolve. Tools need to evolve with us. 

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Certain is a great tool for us and the integration with existing platforms and tools used in the company made it really great for our daily base job, specially on measure our success executing events.

We are getting better an more easy to GTM web pages, registrations, automated emails and of course, on site attendee scans.

The Certain platform has more options for customization than I've ever seen. It is great to be able to make it fit to the unique events we do.

The only issue is that the system isn't super intuitive and it takes a lot of manual work to make updates. HTML knowledge is definitely required to manage, even on an individual event level.

Certain is a very robust system that provides the right solutions for large events that require complex registration set ups on the back end, while providing a branded, user friendly, customized experience on the front end.

It takes a bit of time to become familiar with using the back end, however, once you learn how to use it, it becomes more intuitive.

Using Certain has allowed our company to eliminate working in silos, and benefit from centralization. We can now provide similar experiences globally, maintain brand standards, produce immediate reporting results, all along with knowing that the information in the system is being held securely.

Setting up the printer can be a little difficult once on site.  To add a printer is a little time consuming.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

From a daily user perspective, the tool was flexible enough to do just about anything you want it to, if you have enough experience using the tool, time and technical knowledge. The setup could be time consuming but if you put in the effort, you could really customize. Its a marketers dream for reporting and email customization, again if you can figure out how to setup it. You can create multiple registration forms which was nice if you needed them. 

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

The platform is overly complicated and things are not necessarily where you expect them.It can be a long process to get simple tasks executed and if every single step isnt setup perfectly, things will go wrong. Customer support on the phone is a nightmare. System is meant to be customized on every level...there are really no 'standardized' structures/foundations to how the system works. It is not for the occasional user - you have to have dedicated support in order to make this solution work.

Try to setup a real-life event that you have on your calendar - go through every aspect to see how the system works and how intense the setup is.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Many features above and beyond the standard offerings. And, you can choose to add on additional premium features for a separate fee. While some may not like this, I prefer being able to pick and choose what additional features I think are necessary rather than having to pay a huge price to have everything, even the features that aren't necessary. The app is also very intuitive and user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Better communication with clients on new features and items being rolled out. I'd also like to see the cutting edge of technology (AI / Chatbots) added to their app, but I don't think that is something on their current technology roadmap. 

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

There are a lot of event mobile app providers out there. Be sure you know what features are most important to your group and be sure the provider is willing to allow you to not only view a demo but have a short trial period so you can really get to know the system before you make a decision.

We've been able to go paperless for certain things with our conference, in particular, session evaluations and CEU tracking. This not only saves us money on resources, but also staff time with pre- and post conference activities. The app has also allowed us to stay current with event technology and gives our attendees a better conference experience.

The Gather Digital "Back Office" is extremely easy to navigate - and very self-explanatory in terms of adding events, speakers, maps. It's also very easy to import my own lists of exhibitors, attendees etc. I also like that they are continually updating and adding new features.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

The pricing structure isn't my favorite - but that might be a unique issue for us. We signed on to have 5 gatherings - and due to some economic issues - two of our programs got scrapped so we didn't need the apps. I guess I'd prefer a more of a pay as you go model? But they did work with us to make sure we got a solution, so it wasn't the end of the world.

Having the app for our Annual Convention & Trade Show has helped us offer some added value to our Sponsors and Exhibitors. We've been able to sell a couple of ads in the app - therefore realizing a small amount of additional revenue.

I love the flexibility in creating CEU tracking for our attendees and the simplicity for attendees to track their CEUs in specific CEU categories. Working pre-event with Gather Digital staff was straight forward and very responsive. Attendees of all generations were excited to use the app and feel comfortable email/printing their CEU certificates. Attendees also enjoyed the interactive exhibit hall map and creating their own schedules with ease.

My only initial concern working with Gather Digital was the cost for an association our size, but they have provided a solution to areas we were using multiple vendors.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Using Gather Digital will simplify the number of vendors needed for your events and provide an easy to use (for both the attendee and admin) to provide CEU tracking for attendees.

In the past we have used anything from printed CEU forms for every session to hiring CEU tracking systems where human error could be an issue. Using our Gather Digital app was the perfect solution to have attendees track their own CEUs and have immediate access to their certificate, as well as having a helpful event app for our convention attendees.

It is easy to implement and update the Gather Digital App. It is available for both iOS and Android. Great table support staff that go the extra mile. It's a personal service. I like the general design of the app.

Some limitations on the Home page with the design and the way it works. The Twitter feed and layout are weak. The product can seem expensive to some. Users have issues with password resets--a common problem with all websites and apps.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

I'm so pleased with everything. The CMS tool is so intuitive and easy to use and updates are automatic. Everything is laid out so well from a design standpoint. Adding content is quick, easy and very self explanatory. The customer service is outstanding. I have worked directly with Wendy Nelson and Pete Skeele and both have gone above and beyond to ensure that our app is functional and that we are able to add anything that we need and w always have the latest content updates. They are with us from beginning to end and are always there to support us in any way and resolve any issues we might encounter. Our attendees are all very pleased with the app and always provide us with excellent feedback on the content and how user-friendly it is.


**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Honestly, I have no complaints. We have had the best experience with Gather Digital. We are currently about to open up our fifth conference event app which will be live in 2018 and every app has been more robust than the last. I am looking forward to the new design layouts available to us for this app. I can't wait to see what it will all look like when it's complete and see how our attendees will like the new look. 

If I had to mention one area for a bit of improvement, it would be in the social media area. If the "feeds" i.e. photo and activity could be combined so that users could post photos with status updates and be able to like and comment.  Currently, photos can be posted with a caption and text can be posted in the activity feed, but there is no correlation between the two so combining the two for a ore "Instagram", "Facebook", "Twitter" feel would be ideal.

I would recommend to any company looking to create event apps to check out Gather Digital. They have a sample app available in the app store that you can play with and the demo was very thorough and they deliver the product they promise. 

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gather Digital has helped us resolve an issue with including our session evaluations in the app. We have been trying to move away from hard copies in this area for several years and we attempted it with a previous app vendor with no success. GD has worked with us and helped us resolve this issue. We are now paperless which not only saves us a lot of money, is good for the environment, but it is very convenient for our attendees to complete the evaluations. Due to this, we are now receiving the same, if not higher, number of attendees taking the time to complete them.

That I can work in the app dashboard and view my edits/updates in the web link on my side-by-side screens.  It gives me real-time updates as to how the app is functioning and how it will appear to my members and attendees. 

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

I wish the polling feature worked a little differently. We have to use Turning Point Technologies now for engaging our audiences with questions during lectures. Since they are often medical/clinical presentations, the questions often appear in the middle of the PPTX presentations. Since all PPTX presentations are made available via the app in a PDF format, if the attendee steps out of the PDF link to tap on a Polling/Audience Response Question - and then goes back to the PDF of the power point to continue following along with the speaker, the PDF opens at the first slide. This doesn't work well when speakers have 20 - 60 slides -RE:  they are not going to pause long enough each time for the folks using the mobile app to catch up to where they are in the PDF slides on the app. I wish the polling could integrate more with the PDF slides ... then I could get away from the clumsy and undependable keypad remotes we currently use. If someone could figure this out ... they would be rich!! And I would be so happy!

If you are looking for a multi-functioning app for your events that is user-friendly and admin-friendly - Gather Digital is your solution.

Several ... but the absolute best thing the app does for our association is keeping track of CE credits earned via lecture surveys AND the fact that it will email the attendees' a personalized Certificate of Attendance in a PDF format right to them immediately post-conference. The handy dashboard reporting feature makes it easy and fast for me to submit our members' credits earned report to our national accrediting office immediately post-conference. Before the app - attendees completed paper surveys that were often 15+ pages front and back for the lectures they attended. I had to hire temps to input the data into an excel file post-conference. That process took over 6 weeks! Not to mention ... it was expensive!

Should you find yourself getting proposals from various Event Registration Systems, you can trust that Certain has most of the boxes checked that some of the bigger players have: Event  configuration, room block management, event websites, forms, groups, and more.

While I mentioned that they have most the bells and whistles you are looking for, you might find it extremely difficult to manage these features. Certain was designed by programmers, so the majority of the components are not intuitive in their location or application. 

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Decide if money is your biggest driving in selecting a registration system. If Certain is all you can afford, then you will make it work - but if you have a bit of wiggle room I'd say go with another company that has thought about the ease of use and has a better reputation for customer support.

The benefit with using Certain, along with most Event Registration Systems, is that you are removing the human error from the data collection. If you are trying to manage RSVPs through email and excel workbooks, there is a strong possibility that you will overlook or duplicate data.

Easy collection of evaluation data. Great way to keep in touch with attendees. It was a much more efficient way to push information out to attendees. It is easy to set up and update information which is great when you have changes onsite. You can immediately inform everyone. You can push out important information when necessary.

I enjoy how easy to navigate the app is for our attendees. It’s very intuitive and user friendly.

Some of the backside practices could be easier. For example when having to replace uploaded documents you have to reattach everybody place you have linked it. Why can’t it save over with the new document?

Gather digitial allows us to get conference information to all of our attendees easily. We’ve also realized how we can use the app to better communicate with our attendees onsite.

I love the flexibility in modules and the ability to completely customize the look and feel.  I also find it very valuable that you can manage all aspects of your event in one place, so all of the data is connected.  It makes it so much easier to manage changes and communicate with attendees.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Advanced HTML/CSS knowledge is needed to really sufficiently design the event shell.  Not all teams might have this resource available to them, so they have to spend additional dollars on contractors or agencies to help in the build.  Once you get past this hurdle though, you can easily reuse past events to leverage code that was used before, so that is a plus. 

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Loop in your marketing ops and web/design teams when discussing implementation and execution to make sure that all necessary parties are engaged.  This will streamline the rollout, maximize the integration and tracking capability, and will ensure that nothing is missed on the front end that will have to be considered later (like integrations with your MAP, tracking, SSO, etc.)

Certain allows me to keep everything in one place, to streamline my event management and automate so many event processes, from registration to session submissions, to networking event RSVPs, to surveys.

I like how easy it is to build and it has gotten easier each year. It is great that GD using the customer feedback to make changes each cycle.

Upload templates - although they have gotten easier it is sometimes difficult and time consuming to get the data in the right format to do the upload.
