**What do you like best about Certain?**

I like Certain for finalizing our classes and programs because it centralizes all the needed information, making it accessible for everyone on the team to understand the details of each event. I find it helpful for gathering registration data. Once I learned it, Certain became a good and helpful tool. I appreciate that I can copy and paste info from previous Certain forms, which saves me from having to recreate dialogue for similar events. It's also nice that I can use it effectively without needing to be the team's expert on it.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Certain is not very intuitive for me. I do stumble around with it a good bit. The initial setup was quite difficult. I had little training or support and found it awkward to hunt and peck and hope I got it right.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Certain to centralize event information, making it accessible for the team, and to gather registration data efficiently. I appreciate being able to copy and paste from previous forms to save time.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Certain support is excellent, typically responds and resolves issues within 24 hours. Simple fixes like email formatting, specific settings that may affect registration, etc. They work until a resolution is found, no matter how difficult it may be and are able to do so over email communication. Once you figure your way around the software, it is fairly intuitive and offers many options to customize your registration setup. Email communication is easy to send out, importing registrants is quite easy, and managing capacities is a big leverage point.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

It is not necessarily user-friendly for those not experienced in coding or web design. Simple formatting can be a little complicated and often requires additional support, though support is quick and helpful. The expectation is the client working within the software should be an expert for their company, though as a new employee who jumped in with no training, it was a bit difficult to manage. Again, the support team is very helpful and informative so I have confidence when working through the system.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our institution recently integrated our internal payment system which bypasses the payment option provided via Certain, which includes services like PayPal. We had a short turnaround to implement this fairly complicated procedure but Certain was very supportive and worked quickly to find solutions to make it work. Though we have had a few hiccups along the way and haven't found resolutions for the few errors, I believe they take these matters seriously. The implementation itself will save our institution thousands of dollars in payment processing fees.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

I value Certain for its easy use in creating events and scheduling emails. I appreciate how it helps in sending emails to students effectively. Setting it up was extremely easy as my login credentials were sent to me, and I could instantly access the system.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

We commonly face roadblocks in Certain that we are unable to update. We have to reach out to tech support for that. It would seem a little more streamlined if we had the capabilities to work with those.

I use Certain to solve scheduling appointment problems and for sending emails to students, making it easier to plan university residency events.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Certain is incredibly flexible and we use for almost all of of our clients. Their logic applies to nearly every section making customized registration flows very easy. I also love that we can inject code to specific pages and sections which allows us to match the clients branding and necessities. Reports are also great and allow to pretty much pull data in any form needed as well as provide links that my clients can use to pull data from the system any time they need it. Their customer support is very responsive and always easy to get in touch with. Given the amount of features it is very easy to use and they have recently made some changes to make some features easy to access

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

I wish we could have some built in testing for email so we can control quality on different clients.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping everything in one place and easily accessible for both running the event and providing data points to clients. Along the basic built in features, there is a lot that can be customized to be able to handle different registration needs. We recently had clients inquiring about compliance and security . Certain provided all the documentation we needed as well as peace of mind for both us and our client.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Certain software is very robust and functional. We have learned many different ways to make it sing and present our clients with websites and registration sites to meet their (sometimes very challenging) needs. I appreciate the ease with which we can access the HTML and CSS code to create displays and registration forms that are responsive and branded to the clients' specifications. The on-demand badging module has improved over time. The Touchpoint (mobile app) is extremely functional and one of my favorite mobile apps to build out. The integration with Certain Platform is seamless, making the job easier by eliminating the need to download and upload profiles, speakers, sessions, etc. Gamification and lead retrieval are popular onsite and having lead retrieval within the existing mobile app is much easier (and intuitive) for exhibitors.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Group registrations aren't as easy as I'd like, and when attendees return to update a group record, they can overwrite data if not careful. Use of discount codes has improved.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

It is a very robust system and more software than a lot of people need, but if you have complex programs, definitely consider Certain.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves the full gamut of online registration problems for clients on a daily basis. We've rarely seen a client's registration problem/pain point that we couldn't resolve with Certain as the registration platform and mobile app.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Certain was the first platform I learned, and it feels so comfortable. They often make improvements to help make the registration process flow better. I like the drag and drop features, customization of form sections, flexibility in building robust websites. My team has creatively used websites, forms, and sessions to meet our unique client needs. Jeff Yarnell is so knowledgeable when providing platform use and development support, always willing to dig deeper and give clear answers. Certain has easy and robust reporting, which is a struggle at times in other platforms. I also like its housing module - especially rooming list change reports! The Touchpoint app has been a welcome addition.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

At times, the level 1 support can give answers that are not helpful or that obviously need escalation. As an experienced user, I wish we had access to higher level support in a quicker timeframe. We have not found many clients who have utilized the On24 virtual platform, so I am not confident in its success. The website builder has potential to be even greater, and I would like to see some improvements that can create sites more like you'd see in WordPress. It would be great to have a learning management type option, we often have to create these and they don't often work smoothly, but there could be more ease in building something like that.

**Recommendations to others considering Certain:**

Take into account everything you will need from start to finish - from the first marketing email that gets sent to the post-event survey after the event. Platforms range in their capabilities, and only you as the meeting planner/event technologist will know what you can skimp on and what you require. Certain has a lot of strong points, but don't be afraid to customize your platforms and tools to build your toolkit and can be flexible with your needs.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients benefit the most from the accommodations module and reporting. Roommate matching is a successful experience for them. Some come back to us regularly because of their reporting ability. The Touchpoint app is a valuable extension of the platform. Setting up and managing financial processes are understandable and straightforward.

I like that Certain is user-friendly, but what stands out most is the customer service—from the sales rep to the help desk and everyone in between. Peach Piodos recently helped us with a branding upgrade for our platform, and she was wonderful!

For me, anything that seems like it needs changing is probably just part of the system’s capabilities that I haven’t yet learned or fully understood.

I like Certain's clean-looking platform and the sharable link feature to view reports.

The backend setup isn't user-friendly. Adding a photo of a speaker is not easy as you have to upload it and then copy the file path. Also, the calendar invite link is not easy to edit or find when I need to edit it. The initial setup of Certain was not easy.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Certain's reporting capabilities are impressively robust. We can quickly generate reports and share live report links with others. The change report is our favorite feature. After locking a report, it only displays updates, clearly highlighting what has changed. This makes it much easier for us to identify and communicate necessary updates to hotels and catering teams.

The customer service team is also excellent. I have worked with the same representatives for several years, and they are familiar with both me and our specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

At times, there are several places where changes need to be made to achieve the desired result. Because it is highly customizable, it isn't exactly plug and play, which can occasionally mean it takes longer to resolve an issue.

We can register all attendees in a single location, which makes the process much more convenient. Additionally, we are able to manage their event apps using the same system. Because the app is integrated with the platform, guests' information is transferred seamlessly.

I have found their Customer Support to be very good. I needed help setting up two reports. I provided the fields that I needed and before I knew it, they had created the two reports and put them in my event. Very quickly understood what I needed and delivered. Very impressed.

I'm in the learning curve and enjoy understanding more and more about Certain every day.

I like the look and feel of the platform. Most of the features are easy to use once learned. The Certain help desk is fast and thorough when helping with issues.

The system tends to be somewhat sensitive. When I add templates to the website, even a minor error like an extra space can cause the entire site to fail.

The platform feels too complicated, and many of the functions are hidden in places that don’t really make sense. It can be hard to find what I need, and the overall layout isn’t very intuitive.

The integration between the event website and the app.

Certain is totally customizable.  We have a variety of clients and they all have different registration and data needs.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Twenty four hour service would be really helpful.  We have urgent needs at night and weekends and there is no one there to help.

Certain makes us important to our clients.  They can't build the kind of websites we can.  The platforms out there that market as being super easy and user friendly don't do what we do.

Sure, nothing is perfect. Since it's a large platform, the learning curve can be quite steep. Some interfaces are not very intuitive, and it took me a while to fully grasp how everything fits together.

I find Certain Event Management to be highly effective for sending mass event notifications and emails, managing multiple attendees within a single platform, and customizing each event with unique protocols and settings. Certain streamlines the process of managing multiple events, making it seamless and stress-free. It's a service I use almost daily.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Certain offers a wide range of features, some of which I may not yet be familiar with, potentially limiting my ability to fully leverage the platform. Exploring its full capabilities could enhance efficiency and maximize its benefits for event management in conjunction with other Apps and Services I may be using.

**What do you like best about Certain?**

Flexibility. It can pretty much do anything you need it to, if you know how. It can be pretty easy to implement and very easy to copy and repurpose events once you have a template built. 

I use mainly for corporate events, but have a couple where payments are taken and the process is seamless. No fees from Certain, no fees from me as a planner. All you have to do is set up the gateway and the client has their money instantly someone registers.  Financial reports are phenomenal and processing registrations and refunds onsite is a snap. 

I also integrate Certain with my on-demand badge printing software and it's amazing. You can print a badge from the software seconds after someone registers.

Support is always timely and urgent requests do get flagged and actioned over the weekend. 

I spend almost all day, every day in Certain and it very rarely frustrates me. I take pride in coming up with new ways to make the registration process easier for my clients, attendees, and of course, myself.

I also have clients that use the platform under my license. I build their events and they manage the day to day running.

API is not supported, just documentation. Templates are clunky and a little restrictive.

Seamless online registration for multiple clients who all have different needs, be it a paid congress or a corporate event.

Certain Event Management is highly customizable, and able to meet a wide variety of needs. Our organization hosts several small events throughout the year, in-person, online, and everything in between. The variety of tools available allows us to customize each registration according to that event's needs.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Certain Event Management can be a bit daunting to tackle because of the sheer number of options. The high level of customizability can be a bit of a double-edged sword--if your sense of the back-end structure of your events is shaky, it's easy to get a bit lost in the weeds.

**What problems is Certain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Certain Event Management keeps our registrations and data in one place, and allows us to track repeat registrants. We can easily see data across a variety of events, and more so, collect the data that is specifically relevant to our work.

Certain has allowed us to take our registration form and customize it depending on what class we are offering. I find it easy to use for both our students and staff. I was very resistant on moving to a database that lived in the cloud, but have had no issues with breech of information.  We have used Certain for several years and their customer service/support is responsive.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

What I don't like about the database is we were not able to merge our existing database of students with the new. Since Certain deletes user information after a certain about of time, we no longer have access to that's students’ information.

We have had a couple of issues with the look of forms that support has not been able to resolve for us, but we can still generate them.

I’ve had a great experience with Certain Event Management. The platform is very user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and manage events. One of the standout features for me is the responsive help team — they’re quick to assist whenever needed.

The only downside is that the articles provided don’t always address more unique or specific questions, but customer service is always willing to hop on a call to offer direct support, which is a huge plus. Overall, I highly recommend Certain Event Management for anyone looking for an efficient and supportive event management solution.

Certain Event Management is solving the challenge of tracking Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours for attendees. It simplifies the process by allowing participants to easily log their hours, which is a huge time-saver for both event organizers and attendees.

Easy interface, great customer support, training modules, and intergration between Certain and Salesforce is super helpful!  Love the dashboard view where I can see how many customers are signed up for a list of multiple trainings in one view.  Reports are easy to customize with whatever you want them to show.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Areas where you to need to go to make do something or make changes doesn't always make sense- or takes too  many clicks to find or make an edit.  I also wish their was a phone number hotline for support- email responses are always slower than talking to a human.

The integration between Certain and Salesforce saves a ton of administrative work of having to manually tag every single person that registers for events (which would be hundreds and hundreds of people).  SUPER helpful!

The app was very intuitive and very admin friendly.  I was able to make changes very quickly during the event.  The implementation process was simple.  I had an onboarding call and was good from there.  The account management team has been very supportive.  Certain has an off-hours support chat helpline which made it very convenient if I had a question.  The app can be used for different types of events, however what I appreciate the most about the app is that it can be a straight meeting app which is what i was looking for.  I've found other apps to be built for large trade shows or conferences and retro fitted to be used as a meeting app.  There is a lot of functionality that is lost when an app is rtrofitted to be something that it's not.  Certain made sure that is not the case for their app.

There's nothing to truly dislike about Certain that is constructive.

Certain is a one stop shop to solve my meeting app issue.  I know what I'm getting and Certian makes updates to continually imporve the app.

It is also helpful to know that someone will be assigned to development and will be available to assist.

We''ve used Certain for years and one of the great things is the low turnover with account management and tech support. We have been able to adapt the application for all our events of all sizes and types. I like best that I can figure most things out myself, but they've been quick to reply and assist as needed. I love the integration with the mobile app platform Touchpoint. That was a game changer for us too.

I do wish they were more innovative or moved faster to implement new things in the technology. The roadmap is probably quite long.

It's a good tool to check people into sessions at events, however, I find that it sometimes glitches and does not allow people to check in. Even so, overall the app is solid.

Allowing us ot check people into individual sessionsduring our event. This allows us to know who came as well as give certificates out post event.

The Certain event platform has been a reliable foundation for our event management for a long period of time. It consistently allows us to manage registrations, build out our event programs, and manage attendee check-in. It has enabled us to successfully manage the in-person and hybrid events that we hold over the course of each year. Certain support is very responsive to any issues that arise, and we have been able to reasonably integrate the platform with our internal tools.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

There are a few limitations with the platform that would make our experience better, including expanded API functionality, capabilities of the Touchpoint streaming platform, and implementation of abstract management / call for speakers/papers.

The real time updates on survey's issuing CE/CME credit to attendees is wonderful and extremely helpful to us. Push notificaitons, full schedule, lead retreival badge scanning.. this app is truly our meeting one stop shop. We couldn't have our meeting without it! Very user friendly. Customer support is extremely timely and helpful!

Nothing comes to mind on things that I dislike.

Their survey completion to CME/CE issued to attendee immediately is absolutely wonderful. Takes the "hand-work" out of creating CME/CE certificates and has it avaiable to our attendees immediately.

We seem to consistently hit glitches/oversights that create errors within our forms.  While customer service is strong and problems are typically corrected quickly, coming across these errors as I work urgently to meet deadlines can sometimes be a setback.

Allows us to easily build customized sites with multiple pages and advanced functions for our clients. Each event is unique and it is nice to be able to accommodate almost all requests that come our way. We appreciate the ability to process refunds easily and allow for users to re-access their registrations in order to make revisions and/or provide additional payments. This has supported our office with meeeting PCI compliance standards

**What do you like best about Certain?**

I have been in the event management industry for over 12 years and have used many systems over that time.  Certain offers a lot of flexibility.  Their mobile check-in app is maybe what sets them out the most, in my opinion.  This app allows for huge sales teams to get a simple access code (no unique login credentials needed) to get into the check-in and lead tagging features.  This allows the team to easily (and I mean easily) download and access the particular event they are working on.  Check-in is a breeze and very intuitive.  Additionally, they have (from all of my evaluations and testing over the years) the only event platform that has lead tagging capabilities straight from this check-in app.  This means that any of my employees can make critical, real-time notes from customer conversations so that we are ready for immediate follow-up after the event.  I have been using this tool for the last three years and am creating, editing, and managing events daily.  It's incredibly easy to implement across all of our product teams and intuitive API linkage allows us to broadcast our events across our website to localize the experience for our customers.  If there is ever a problem, a quick email is responded to within a couple of hours at the latest.  If it's urgent - I've gotten a call within 5 minutes.  Completely second to none.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

With all that I love about this service, I will say a dedicated power user is pretty important.  The system, as robust as it is, can be very complicated.  Particularly if say it's used across a team and someone is only running a couple of shows a year.  Relearning where everything is can be a struggle if there isn't that POC for troubleshooting or streamlining.  That being said, being the power user does not need to be a full-time job for someone, but know that spending the extra time to set up templates beforehand and make sure that people know exactly all the information to provide when creating an event and it hasn't been difficult on my end.

We needed a robust platform to handle over 100 single day free seminars globally.  We also needed a service that provided self-serve information of registration lists and ability to track customer lead comments during the event.  Certain does this in strides.

Certain has robust in-form logic, and can be fairly well customized.
The support team and account reps are very responsive and communicative and make a real effort to meet our needs.
The tool implements improvements regularly.
There are many available features which can be utilized in complex arrangements.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

Users often find the tool difficult to navigate and understand. The best-supported features may not meet your needs; it is optimized for large conferences. If you don't use the tool in the most standard way, you may need to do a bunch of kludges to get by. There have been multiple occasions in which tool updates/releases have caused major issues for live registrations, so my org lacks some confidence in the stability of the tool. Past Release Notes are no longer available for review. The tool-recommended method for registration (sessions) offers no pricing granularity.

Talk to your reps; they are an invaluable resource and very easy to work with.

Managing registrations for a wide variety of events, from huge, complex high-profile events, to small webinars, to recurring series. Allowing different groups in our org to have their own unique approaches to event-building. Overall, the tool has definitely met our needs.

Certain 's platform offers a lot of out-of-the-box, but also provides the flexibility to customize for our regional marketer's unique requirements.

**What do you dislike about Certain?**

You can customize yourself into a corner somewhat easily, which makes support challenging. It would be good to have some checkpoints in place to ensure there isn't an existing solution to meet the same need before creating something custom.

We had strong workflows and processes in place that allowed us to pivot almost instantly to virtual (nearly 2 years ago now). In that year alone, we hosted more than 1,600 global events, with only minor hiccups. We've continued to optimize since then and have built on what we learned to make our solutions even stronger.
