I like that Certain offers self-scheduling and email communication for our events, which is handy for advising appointments. The API is useful for generating communications to students and integrating with our advising system during events. The advising functions on the website, the email templates for students, and the ability to plan event upload agendas for each schedule add to its utility. I also appreciated the support that was available to help with setup issues, despite the initial bumpy experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Certain? We use Certain to record student check-in codes for attendance, and that does not necessarily work well for all students. We would need some way to make that requirement within the schedule. Certain is a solid option for users that having CSS knowledge. You are able to customize your website with limited restrictions. Certain also has great flexibility in reg form layout. Certain's UI for the builder needs updating. Built-in drag and drop modules and a more intuitive, user friendly design space would be very helpful. The builder needs some level of coding knowledge in order to produce a nice website. Certain's pricing is per transaction / registered attendee. Paying per user login is preferred. I like the functionality it provides. I don't use it very regularly or all the functions of which it is capable. Being able to copy events makes it much easier to create what I need. It requires significant effort to create new events when not copying from a template or previous event. Adding new questions to the form is incredibly difficult and requires multiple steps in different places. Each time requires multiple iterations of trial and error to ensure I am getting what I want. Certain's automation tools and capabilities are very helpful. Above and beyond what we have in some of our other email automation platforms. The UI can be difficult to navigate. I don't find it very intuitive. We've had some additional walk throughs with product owners which has been helpful over time. Recommendations to others considering Certain: It would be more helpful to use an event automation software that integrates with our marketing efforts, i.e. Salesforce for us. Certain often feels like a totally separate beast we have to deal with because it has always been used. We have to export email addresses on a weekly basis and upload them into our email marketing platform and this becomes quite time consuming and the likelihood of human error increases greatly. Certain was very easy to use and all HTML based so it was easy to add in new events or make changes on the fly. Each attendee record was easy to read and the export process for my reporting was very simple to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Certain? Since we didn't require users to use a login/password combination, we had a lot of duplicate registrations across the span of our year. This ended up costing us additional funds because we went over our allotment/prepaid amount of registrations. Our challenge was that we didn't have one "traditional" event but rather 30-40 smaller events/classes that we wanted to manage under the larger umbrella of a "semester. Being able to track those who signed up for multiple classes was very useful in figuring out which topics need more advanced offerings and which ones needed more primers.
