# Which legal practice management tool offers the best client portal features?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">One of the biggest pain points we’re trying to solve is client communication,  secure messaging, document sharing, updates, and payments all in one place. I’m looking for a <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/legal-practice-management">practice management system</a> with a <strong>client portal that actually works</strong> and doesn’t confuse clients.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">From the G2 data and reviews, here are some of the stronger options:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/clio-clio-manage/reviews"><strong>Clio Manage</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Well-known for its secure client portal (Clio for Clients app), making communication and document sharing easy.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/smokeball/reviews"><strong>Smokeball</strong></a><strong>:</strong> High satisfaction, with client collaboration tools that streamline messaging and document delivery.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/8am-mycase/reviews"><strong>8am MyCase</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Client portal is one of its standout features, with built-in messaging, document sharing, e-signatures, and online payments.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/lawmatics/reviews"><strong>Lawmatics</strong></a><strong>:</strong> More focused on intake and CRM, but its portal tools help keep prospective and current clients in the loop.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/assembly-software-assembly-neos/reviews"><strong>Assembly Neos</strong></a><strong>: </strong>Good balance of practice management features, including portals that connect clients directly into case workflows.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/filevine/reviews"><strong>Filevine</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Strong portal features, especially for firms needing customization in how clients access case updates and documents.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">For those of you working with these, which platform’s client portal actually keeps your clients engaged and makes your life easier, versus just being another login they forget?</p>

&lt;p&gt;Also, when it comes to client portals, what ends up being the feature that clients actually use most? Secure messaging, document sharing, e-signatures, or payments? Always feels like one or two of those matter way more than the rest. which of these should be my non-negotiables? &lt;/p&gt;
