ActiveCampaign Reviews & Product Details

Intuitive, simple and genuinely enjoyable to use. The interface is clean and well thought out, and the setup process is guided so well that even the automations (to me, the scary part) took me minutes. A tool that makes work feel lighter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's not perfect. I sometimes run into issues with font formatting, and emails sent through form automations often land in the spam folder. That said, every time I've had a problem the support team has been genuinely helpful and quick to respond, which, honestly, counts for a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s the perfect size for our company - robust enough to have all of the features we need but not bloated with a lot extra that we never touch. The automation builder and list segmentation features are standout. When managing marketing copy and newsletters for various client accounts, being able to easily segment audiences ensures the right messaging reaches the right people. I feel like the automatically designed templates are very poor quality - we would never use any of the generated templates. Additionally, the standard reporting dashboards could be a bit more customizable for times when I need to pull highly specific engagement metrics to include in client scopes of work or performance reviews. Automation & Flexibility: I can map different scenarios, e.g., freebie and sales funnels, reminder emails, as well as tags and conditions that control what happens next.

Segmentation & Personalization: I see how my course participants interact (e.g., whether emails are opened, links are clicked, etc.). This allows me to tailor my communication specifically and deliver it more appropriately.

Good Reporting & Tracking: I gain insight into how well my automations are running and how engaged the participants are. Based on this, I can make optimizations.

Time-saving & Efficient: A lot can be set up automatically, e.g., tracking leads and participant reactions. This gives me more freedom to work on new product ideas.

Pricing: With increasing contacts, the pricing is somewhat opaque at times.

Integrations: There are many interfaces to other tools through which I can import contacts.

Performance: The sending of large email campaigns and the execution of automations have so far worked without any delays. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The variety of functions can be overwhelming at first. It takes some time to get familiar with and apply all the possibilities.

The pricing becomes somewhat opaque with increasing contacts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been using ActiveCampaign for over four years now, and it’s easily one of the most user-friendly platforms out there. The drag-and-drop feature for creating new campaigns is incredibly intuitive, making it simple to design and launch campaigns in no time. Adding and subscribing clients to lists is also a breeze, which has significantly streamlined my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If someone on any of our subscribed lists unsubscribes from one of the lists, it unsubscribes them from all of the lists. It's unfortunate when I have to manually go in and re-add them back to a list that they want to receive emails from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most is that the UI/UX is very clear and easy to use. It also has one of the best automation systems out there—I use automations a lot, and this is by far the best one I’ve worked with. I also love the CRM management: the way it filters tags and organizes everything about each contact into columns makes it very straightforward and simple to manage. What I dislike most is the email builder. It’s clunky, hard to use, and not very intuitive.

Another thing I don’t like is the reporting system. The way it filters and displays metrics is difficult to understand and navigate. I’d prefer it to be more straightforward and focused on what matters, like email title effectiveness, open rate, and click-through rate.

Also, the campaign duplication feature could be improved. It would help if every duplicated campaign could be grouped into a single category so I can find them quickly, instead of ending up with an isolated copy each time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Overall, the user experience and layout are good. The automations are great and easy to use, and it’s simple to create campaigns and contact groups. There are also a lot of integrations available, which makes it even more convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It would be great to have the option to attach files (for example, PDF files) to forms. Customer support works really well, but only in English (as far as I know). I’m also not a big fan of all the AI stuff, mostly because AC doesn’t support our languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With ActiveCampaign’s Pro plan, I can use conditional content to customize email copy based on each subscriber’s status, such as whether they’ve purchased a specific product. For example, when I send a newsletter, I add a postscript (P.S.) that promotes a product only to subscribers who haven’t bought it yet. I haven’t found another email marketing platform that gives me this same level of flexibility.

On top of that, ActiveCampaign offers advanced segmentation. I can group subscribers by things like how often they open emails or whether they have certain tags, and then send messaging tailored to each segment. Another big plus is its native integrations with many third-party tools, which further expands what I can do with the platform.

Overall, for these reasons, I really enjoy using ActiveCampaign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The site loads slowly, and the pricing is higher than what competitors offer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

After four years of running ActiveCampaign for both our agency and our clients, the automation builder is still the standout. The visual workflow editor makes it easy to map out multi-step nurture sequences, behavioral triggers, and conditional logic without needing a developer. The UI strikes a rare balance — powerful enough for complex CRM automations, but clean enough that a new team member can get productive in a day or two. Native integrations with WordPress, Meta, and our form builders have saved us countless hours, and the performance has been rock solid even when we're pushing larger sends for clients. Pricing scales aggressively once you cross contact tiers, which can make it a harder sell for small service-based clients just getting started. The reporting dashboards are functional but feel a step behind competitors — exporting campaign data for client-facing reports usually means pulling into a separate tool. A few of the newer AI features felt more like add-ons than deeply integrated capabilities at launch, though they've improved. Onboarding for clients new to email marketing also has a learning curve; we typically build a custom guide to bridge it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution and activecampaign makes it easier for me than most marketing automation tools i have worked with. It lets me builds very granular audiences using a mix of tags, custom fields, behaviors and site tracking data. From a solutions perspective, this is huge because it means i can personalize messaging at scale without hacking multiple tools. Navigation across the platform is mostly intuitive. core areas like campaigns, automations, contacts and deals are clearly separated and i learn where things live, jumping between tasks is fast. Activecampaign delivers a lot of value for the cost when i consider that it combines email marketing, automation, segmentation, basic CRM and integrations in a single platform. That said, when i look at the ROI, the downsides are relatively small. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate that I can make as many landing pages as I want in addition to running automations and email campaigns, along with many of their other tools like tagging and list segmentation. It's a great tool if you want your business to run in the background! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have not fully utilized all of the help resources available, which seems extensive, to comment on anything I dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
