"Best Coding Companion"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I appreciate most about VS Code is its simplicity and ease of use. Unlike some other IDEs that can feel heavy, VS Code remains lightweight while still offering all the features I need. I primarily use it for C++ and Python development, and the available extensions, such as auto-complete and error highlighting, are especially helpful. The interface is also clean and minimal, which helps me stay focused and avoid distractions while coding.

I use it almost every day for C++ and Python assignments, freelancing and it integrates easily with GitHub and other tools I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Honestly, there isn’t much I dislike about it, though I did find the setup process a bit challenging as a beginner. Getting the correct extensions installed and configuring all the settings took some time, and I ended up watching a few tutorials before everything was fully ready. Aside from that, it works very well, but I do think the initial setup could be made easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The extension ecosystem is extremely strong - automation frameworks, linters, debuggers, everything integrates smoothly. IntelliSense and auto-formatting help reduce basic mistakes while writing test scripts or utilities. Built-in Git support makes it easy to review changes, resolve conflicts, and commit without switching tools. Debugging across multiple languages (JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.) works well for test automation and troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Installing too many extensions can slow down performance over time. Some extensions conflict with each other and require manual tuning. After updates, certain extensions occasionally break or behave differently. For very large repositories, memory usage can spike Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
