What do you like best about VensureHR?

What do you dislike about VensureHR?

I am a small business owner who used Vensure HR for just over one year, and this has been the most disappointing vendor experience in my 10 years in business. During our time with Vensure, we experienced multiple serious payroll failures, including two missed payrolls despite meeting submission deadlines. I was forced to issue paper checks and reimburse employees for late fees when automatic payments overdrafted their accounts. In another instance, payroll was withdrawn three times in one day, including wire fees. It took multiple business days to recover the excess funds. There were also ongoing communication breakdowns and unresolved benefits-related issues. These problems were documented, repeatedly raised, and well known internally, yet they continued. As a result, we lost trust in Vensure’s ability to reliably manage payroll, a core PEO responsibility.

Due to these failures, we transitioned away and provided written notice on December 11 to terminate December 31. Despite multiple follow-ups from myself and my Practice Manager, Vensure did not respond until December 18, even though several messages were time-sensitive.

Most concerning, on Christmas Eve, just two business days before our final payroll, I was notified for the first time of a $2,500 early termination fee, never disclosed during our transition (only buried in fine print of the contract signed a year+ prior). I was not given the option to adjust our end date. Instead, $2,995 was withdrawn from my account without discussion, $495 more than the contract’s stated maximum. This amount, along with funds owed for benefits calculation errors, has still not been returned.

This has been the worst customer experience I’ve had to date. I share this so other business owners can make informed decisions when choosing a payroll and HR partner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VensureHR?

Below is our feedback on areas where we believe Vensure could improve. We’re sharing this in the spirit of partnership and with the goal of making the experience smoother for both our team and yours.

1. Communication & Change Management

Announcements are often confusing, with multiple changes communicated at once—some that apply to us and some that don’t—leaving staff unsure of what to pay attention to. A bit more clarity and a bit less “plot twist” would go a long way.

2. Inconsistent Support Expertise

The level of expertise among the support team varies widely. We’ve had some excellent contacts, others less so. Usually, we end up being reassigned to stronger team members after something undesirable has happened. We would really appreciate more consistency from the start. The good news: our current team is working wonderfully.

3. Dental Benefits — MetLife Issues

While the benefits overall are solid, MetLife dental has been challenging. Staff have been receiving unexpectedly high bills, and despite submitting reports and invoices, we’ve been told this is strictly a MetLife issue. From our perspective, because Vensure selected MetLife as the dental provider, these concerns should be taken more seriously and escalated as needed.

4. FSA Enrollment Communication

The recent FSA enrollment messaging caused a lot of confusion. Staff were told:

The enrollment period ends in 3 days,

If you haven’t enrolled, you have 1 day left,

If you have enrolled, you have 3 days to make changes.

Even our most detail-oriented people needed to reread it twice—some of us three times and a cup of coffee later. We recommend simplifying the language and clearly distinguishing between the enrollment deadline and the window to make changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about VensureHR?

VensureHR saves me a ton of money as a small business who needs an HR solution, but not a FT employee to do the work. We loved working with Jessica and Dean and all issues were taken care of asap thanks to these two. The interface for employees is easy to use and I can tell my team likes the solution. What do you like best about VensureHR?

Difficult to say there was anything to like. Every time Vensure came up in internal meetings, I never heard a positive comment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Completely unaccountable and unresponsive. Payroll errors were a constant fact of life. They had issues with the permissions in their online portal and over the course of multiple years, there were some users at our organization that never had their technical support issues resolved. What do you like best about VensureHR?

I've had the best experience with our client relations specialists! Kim Snyder and Christi Pardo are a blessing to our company. They exceeded expectations any time we had a minor issue with our Vensure services! They both have been happily available after hours for urgent needs. What do you dislike about VensureHR?

The disconnect between payroll processing and the benefits team can be frustrating. It would be helpful to have team members on payroll that have experience in Vensure's benefits departments. Any time we have an issue with benefit deductions, there is never a quick answer and our client relations specialist has to get involved. The client relations specialist usually has the answer we need before our ticket with the benefits department is involved. When processing something as time sensitive as payroll, tickets can be be a huge bottlenck in the process of adjusting the issue and approving payroll. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
