Syncthing Reviews & Product Details

What is Syncthing?

Syncthing replaces proprietary sync and cloud services with something open, trustworthy and decentralized. Your data is your data alone and you deserve to choose where it is stored, if it is shared with some third party and how it's transmitted over the Internet.

"Syncthing is free and open source"

What do you like best?

This software is a free and secure way to synchronize files between several computers. The best thing is that there are no third parties that can steal our data. It is available for the most used operating systems on the market such as Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and many more.

What do you dislike?

It is difficult to install Syncthing and there is not much documentation, and the one that is obtained is outdated.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is an open source software, it allows you to easily create your own service in the cloud and the platform runs on the most used operating systems. Highly recommended.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Syncthing solved the problems to transfer files between different computers and different operating systems. In addition, it is an open source software, which allows us to navigate in the source code.

"One of the good open-source synching software for multiple computers working on different windows."

What do you like best?

I can very easily exchange data between my two or three devices and can even be installed on my server machine.

What do you dislike?

Interface seemed quite difficult at the beginning, but once my team got used to it, it customized it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Syncthing is not recommended for users who work anonymously and want to be untraceable. Even those users can work on mixnets (not onions), but that makes it really slow.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're in the process of creating our very own cloud.
