## Slack Reviews
 ### 1. Real-Time Collaboration and Smooth Integrations That Keep Teams Moving

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anurudh T. | Trainee, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Channel-based organization and real-time collaboration are a big advantage, because they let us respond immediately to issues, comments, discussions, or deployments. Finding old discussions, files, or shared links is also much easier than with traditional working tools. Tools like Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins connect directly into the workflow, which makes day-to-day coordination smoother. Ai intelligence make automation flow easily for the api's and etc.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Too many notifications can be distracting and overwhelming, particularly on busy channels. Important messages can also be lost under the noise of a busy conversation Managing threads can be a little confusing as well when conversations get large or fork into multiple responses.
Another disadvantage is that the desktop app can use a lot of RAM . The free tier is also restricted in terms of how much of the message history can be accessed and on advanced features, unless teams pay.
Since communication is ongoing and in real time, Slack can break immersion in work that requires deep concentration, reducing productivity. Another area that could use some improvement is file management, as it’s not always easy to track down older shared documents or uploads.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

workplace communication by bringing messaging, collaboration, file sharing, and tool usage into a single platform. Instead of wading through endless email chains or constantly switching between different applications, teams can communicate and get work done in one place.

It also reduces coordination delays by enabling real-time communication through channels, direct messages, and instant notifications. Integrations with Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins, among others, help teams stay up to date, track tasks, and monitor deployments without needing to leave Slack.

The result is stronger collaboration, faster decision-making, and clearer visibility across initiatives. For development and training teams in particular, Slack keeps conversations organized, simplifies coordination, and speeds up problem-solving—especially in remote or fast-paced environments.

 ### 2. Slack Keeps Team Communication Organized and Easy to Search

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Udhayagiri A. | Data Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack makes it easy to stay connected with my teammates through organized channels, direct messages, and threads. The channel-based setup keeps conversations focused and easy to search, so I’m not stuck digging through endless email chains to find what I need.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

The biggest downside of Slack is how quickly it can become overwhelming. When I’m in multiple active channels, the nonstop stream of messages and notifications makes it difficult to stay focused on deep work. Over time, workspaces also tend to collect too many channels, and then it becomes unclear where conversations should happen—or where past decisions were actually made.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, the biggest benefit is reduced context-switching — I can check project updates, share files, get approvals, and even trigger workflows without leaving one tool. It also bridges the gap between distributed teams by making asynchronous communication feel natural, so people across time zones can stay aligned without scheduling meetings for every small decision.

 ### 3. Slack Keeps Team Communication Organized, Simple, and Highly Productive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like most about Slack is how much it improves team communication and organization without making everything feel overly complicated. We use a lot of different platforms and software in our business, and Slack has become one of the main hubs that keeps everyone connected in real time.

I especially appreciate the channel structure, since it keeps conversations neatly organized by department, project, or topic rather than getting buried in long email threads. The integrations are also extremely useful and save a lot of time throughout the day.

Overall, it’s one of the few communication platforms that genuinely supports productivity instead of turning into a distraction. It’s simple to use, reliable, and very effective for growing teams.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One thing I dislike about Slack is that with very active teams, conversations can move so quickly that important messages occasionally get buried if you’re not constantly checking channels. Notifications can also become a little overwhelming at times, especially when managing multiple projects or departments.

There’s definitely a learning curve when first organizing channels, integrations, and workflows, but once everything is set up properly it becomes much easier to manage. Overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives, especially for companies that need fast and organized communication.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack has solved a major communication and organization problem for our team. Before using it, a lot of conversations, updates, and files were scattered across emails, text messages, and different platforms, which made it difficult to keep projects moving efficiently.

Now everything is centralized in one place. Departments, projects, and conversations are organized into channels, which makes collaboration much faster and far more transparent. It has significantly reduced unnecessary meetings and long email chains while improving response time between team members.

The biggest benefit for us has been speed and efficiency. Our team is able to communicate in real time, share updates instantly, and stay aligned on projects without constantly chasing information. As a growing technology company, having that level of organization and communication has been extremely valuable.

 ### 4. Efficient Communication, Minor Notification Overload

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moises C. | Sales Business Development Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack for daily team communication because it keeps conversations organized and helps the team act faster. I like how it maintains fast and organized communication through channels, and the integrations make it easy to manage work without switching between tools. Channels keep conversations focused by topics, making it easy to find information and avoid clutter. Integrations with tools like CRM, project management, and calendars pull updates directly into Slack, reducing app switching.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

It can get overwhelming with too many notifications and channels. It creates constant interruptions which break the focus and slow down deep work.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack to reduce email overload, speed up communication, and keep conversations organized, allowing my team to act faster. Channels and integrations help manage work efficiently without switching between tools.

 ### 5. Organized, Fast Team Communication with Powerful Search and Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like best about Slack is how effectively it organizes communication for collaborative work. I mainly use it for coordinating discussions related to development, open source contributions, and project updates. Having separate channels for topics, announcements, issues, and discussions makes communication much easier to manage compared to scattered chats or long email threads.

I also like the real-time nature of the platform because it helps speed up feedback and decision-making during collaboration. Features like threaded conversations, file sharing, integrations, and searchable message history are especially useful when revisiting technical discussions or shared resources later.

Another thing I appreciate is how well Slack supports async collaboration. Since contributors and team members may not always be online at the same time, conversations remain organized and accessible, making it easier to continue work without losing context.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One thing I dislike about Slack is that larger workspaces with many active channels can sometimes become overwhelming. Important messages or updates may occasionally get buried under ongoing conversations, especially when multiple discussions happen simultaneously.

I also feel notification management can require careful setup to avoid distractions. Without proper organization or notification preferences, constant updates may reduce focus during deep work sessions. While Slack is powerful for communication, maintaining a clean channel structure becomes important as the workspace grows.

Another limitation is that some useful features and longer message history are restricted in the free version, which can make it harder to revisit older discussions or shared resources when working on long-term projects.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack solves the problem of fragmented team communication by providing a centralized platform for discussions, updates, collaboration, and file sharing. Instead of relying on disconnected chats, emails, or multiple communication tools, conversations remain organized through channels and searchable message history.

I mainly use it for coordinating development-related discussions, collaborating with contributors, sharing updates, and managing project communication more efficiently. This helps reduce delays in communication and makes it easier to track decisions, discussions, and shared resources over time.

It has benefited me by improving collaboration speed and making async communication much smoother, especially when working with people across different schedules or projects. Having conversations, files, and updates centralized also reduces context switching and helps maintain better visibility across ongoing work.

 ### 6. Easy to Use, Powerful Integrations That Streamline Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liz B. | The Digital Crafter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I always describe Slack as being like WhatsApp but with more power. It's easy to use but the intergrations make it powerful. I can share files from our Google drive in slack or even have the comment I make in slack appear on a task in Click up so I don't have to worry about copying it over.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

It can feel invasive if you don't set up the sleep function for out of hours

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are predominately remote so we can talk to each other by message or huddle.

 ### 7. Super Useful Team Communication Tool with Powerful Integrations Across Devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leandro L. | CIO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Super useful tool for communication between teams.

Allows many integrations (webhooks, apps, N8N, scripts, AI) that helps many systems to keep all the notifications in one place.

Gives the ability to use it on the web, on your computer, on your phone.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I dislike the search funtionality, it's not easy to search / navigate through searches. There should be a more powerful search tool.

I also dislike that it hides channels based on your activity, and even if you turn that functionality off, it still hides some channels.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's like a bag of notifications, we use it to communicate between teams, between different companies, to receive system notifications, other integration messages. The benefit is that I check one place only.

 ### 8. Organized Team Communication and Smooth Integrations That Streamline Workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie S. | Sales Development Representative, Business Supplies and Equipment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like best about Slack is how it keeps all team communication organized in one place through channels, making collaboration much easier. It also integrates smoothly with many tools, which helps streamline workflows. Overall, it reduces email clutter and makes quick communication with teams very efficient.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One thing I dislike about Slack is that too many notifications and channels can sometimes feel overwhelming. It can also be easy to miss important messages when conversations move quickly. Additionally, the search and message history can be limited depending on the plan. Also there is no option to change the Email on an existing profile. Very Sad

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack solves the problem of scattered communication by bringing team messages, files, and updates into one organized platform. This makes it easier to collaborate quickly, stay aligned with the team, and reduce the need for long email threads. As a result, it saves time and helps work move faster and more efficiently.

 ### 9. Simplifies Team Communication by Organizing Tasks into Threads

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ubed K. | Operations associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Threads makes it easy to group the different tasks we work on as a team into threads for communication. By highlighting the person’s name, it’s easier for instructions to flow, which is extremely valuable compared to several emails going back and forth with the whole team in CC.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

It’s very difficult to reply within a conversation thread. The UI isn’t very user-friendly, and it makes following and responding to messages harder than it should be.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It replaces several emails and saves time because I don’t have to read through multiple messages where I’m copied in. The communication is direct and to the point. It’s also fast and easy to access on my phone.

 ### 10. Slack AI Makes Huddles and Channel Recaps Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. Akshay M. | Annotator, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack’s AI is really helpful. I can go through huddles and transcripts, and the AI automatically takes notes during huddles and summarises them. If I miss something in a channel, the AI can summarise everything and give me an instant recap of the discussion.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I had to manage the notifications on my own because, during work hours, channel mentions kept bothering me and I was constantly getting interrupted. It would be better if it were easier to understand the notification settings and manage them.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If we’re in a channel discussing something and I join late, I can use the AI Agent to summarise the discussion so I understand what’s going on. It also helps during the channel conversations AI notes by converting them into a transcript. Sometimes I need proof of what was discussed, so I can ask the AI what the conversation was about regarding the website issue last week. The AI understands what I mean and gives me the details of that discussion, which is very beneficial for me.

 ### 11. Seamless Team Communication and Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like best about Slack is how effectively it brings communication, collaboration, and transparency together in one place. Rather than relying on long email chains, Slack allows teams to organize conversations by project, department, or topic, making it much easier to find information and stay aligned.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

sometimes create information overload. With multiple channels, direct messages, and notifications happening simultaneously, it can be difficult to determine which messages require immediate attention and which can wait. This can occasionally lead to interruptions that impact focus and productivity

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

creates a centralized hub where conversations, files, updates, and decisions are easily accessible. It reduces the time spent searching for information, improves collaboration across departments, and enables faster problem-solving. As someone who works closely with multiple teams, I benefit from having greater visibility into projects, quicker access to stakeholders, and the ability to keep work moving without relying on lengthy email chains or unnecessary meetings

 ### 12. Streamlined Team Collaboration with Flexibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atharva P. | Cloud BI Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like how Slack enables easy team communication and organized channels, which makes day-to-day work much smoother. Quick collaboration through Slack centralizes communication across teams and clients, reducing email dependency and enabling faster decision-making and collaboration. I also appreciate Slack's better integration support and faster performance compared to Microsoft Teams, along with its more intuitive channel-based communication model. Setting it up is quite easy, allowing teams to quickly configure integrations and permissions, even though workflows for larger organizations can take some effort.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Too many notifications can be distracting. Unimportant messages tend to get lost in busy channels.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack makes collaboration efficient for day-to-day work. It centralizes communication across teams and clients, reduces email dependency, and enables faster decision-making and collaboration.

 ### 13. Simple, Organized Team Communication with Powerful Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Preticia E. | Operations Team Lead, Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack is a simple team communication app. It keeps all my communication with my organization very organized and simple. We can create channels with only the people that we need in them. It has threads within a message, where it keeps all the communication very structured. Also, it has many features like Huddle for a quick call, screen share while on call, etc.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Nothing that has come across my experience with Slack.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For communications via email, it seems very scattered and sometimes very difficult to find a conversation. But with Slack, it is very easy to communicate with the team or with anyone in the organization. It also has reminders to keep us on top of certain messages or tasks for us to come back to and look into them, which helps me to prioritize tasks for my day. Also, communication via channels keeps communication to a certain topic within that channel and is easy to navigate through them. So in a way, it keeps me on top of all the communication.

 ### 14. Effortless Team Communication, But Integration Glitches

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren B. | Director of Customer Success, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like that Slack is easy to use and simple, allowing me to get started right away. The new Slack bot helps me stay organized by summarizing what happened in the channel, which is really useful if I've been away or on PTO. It's fun and simple to use, with cool features like emojis. Slackbot is great for me as a manager because it provides a summary of activities in channels, saving me time from having to monitor them closely. I appreciate how it helps maintain high-quality working relationships, even though we're a remote-first company with team members in multiple time zones.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Some of the integrations aren't super great. It's great with Google Workspace, but the Jira integration is pretty standard. You get an alert about it, and I'm not really sure how helpful that is. It's nice that it talks to everything, but beyond just an alert, I'm not really sure what we're getting from some of the integrations.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack helps us manage projects by organizing tasks, tracking questions, and pinning documents in channels. It supports asynchronous collaboration across time zones, fostering high-quality remote work relationships.

 ### 15. Slack Keeps Teams Aligned with Fast, Searchable Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Channels as shared context: projects and teams have one central place to capture decisions, share updates, and ask quick questions, which means less email and fewer meetings.

Fast async collaboration: threads and mentions make conversations easy to follow and help cut down on “drive-by” interruptions.

Integrations that actually save time: Jira/GitHub/Calendar alerts, along with automations (Workflows, simple bots), reduce manual follow-ups and keep work moving.

Search is a lifesaver: it’s fast to pull up past decisions, links, and files, and it’s especially useful when onboarding someone new.

Huddles for quick alignment: perfect for a 5-minute sync without needing to schedule a full meeting.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Notification overload (UI/UX): it’s easy to end up with too many pings across channels, threads, and mentions. The result is constant context switching and “always-on” fatigue. Better defaults, along with smarter notification recommendations, would make this easier to manage.

Information gets lost over time: Slack is great for speed, but decisions and key takeaways can disappear inside long threads. Without strong habits (pinning, canvases/docs, and linking back to a source of truth), important context becomes difficult to track down later.

Integrations can create noise: Jira/GitHub bots are useful, but if they aren’t tuned, they can spam channels and drown out the signal. We’d like more granular controls, plus better digest options enabled by default.

Performance with heavy workspaces: it’s generally solid, but very large workspaces can feel slower—especially for search, loading older messages, and switching channels—particularly on older laptops.

Pricing at scale (ROI still good, but…): once you need enterprise features, the per-seat cost adds up quickly. It can be hard to justify for occasional users who only need light access.

Support/admin complexity: rollout is straightforward, but governance at scale is harder (channel sprawl, permissions, guest access, retention policies). Better built-in tooling for channel lifecycle management—ownership, archiving, and cleanup—would be a big improvement.

AI/Intelligence needs more control: summaries and catch-up features are helpful, but we’d want clearer admin controls, more transparency about what content is included, and more consistent quality across languages and technical conversations.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Slack, a lot of our internal communication was stuck in long email threads and recurring meetings: questions took hours to answer, decisions were hard to track, and coordinating across teams created a lot of overhead. Now, things are much smoother.

We used to struggle with slow back-and-forth, but now we can resolve questions in minutes in the right channels, which speeds up execution and reduces blockers. We used to struggle with cross-team alignment, but now each project has a shared space (channels) where updates, decisions, links, and stakeholders are centralized, so we need fewer sync meetings. We used to struggle with manual follow-ups, but now integrations push updates automatically (Jira/GitHub/incidents/alerts), keeping everyone informed without having to chase people.

We also used to struggle with onboarding context, but now search makes history accessible (past discussions, decisions, files). That reduces repeated questions and helps new joiners ramp faster. Finally, we used to struggle with quick alignment, but now huddles handle fast syncs without scheduling, which saves time and helps us keep momentum.

 ### 16. Revolutionized Our Communication and Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eddy N. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I really appreciate how Slack is a replacement for emails, which aren't so efficient. It provides instant messaging that offers more flexibility. I'm able to perform mainly textual messages, but also make calls, do screen shares, and share files. These features are especially useful since I can start a call right away with the relevant people following the channel and screen sharing helps with troubleshooting issues or presenting things in the product. File sharing on Slack is easy with drag and drop into the Slack window, and it keeps the files accessible for a long period. Slack is way easier to use than Google Chat, it integrates better into the system and allows us more flexibility. Also, feedback on the initial setup was that it was pretty much straightforward, which is great.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I think sometimes it gets very complex to find all of the messages that really involve me. Especially in our organization where you have a bunch of different channels and bunch of different threads about different things. It's easy to miss a message that involves or requires my attention. But since we have DMs and activity and threads and messages, everything becomes slightly more complex to manage. So you don't see everything in one place, but it's broken into different areas. So sometimes messages go without being seen.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack for communicating with different stakeholders in my company and outside it. It's a replacement for inefficient emails, offering more flexibility with instant messaging, calls, screen sharing, and file sharing.

 ### 17. Fast, Organized Team Communication with Powerful Search and Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chirodip L. | AI Engineer II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like most about it is how it keeps communication fast, organized, and collaborative without ever feeling overwhelming. The channel-based structure makes it simple to separate conversations by team, project, or topic, and the integrations with tools like Google Drive, Jira, and GitHub help streamline day-to-day workflows. I also really appreciate the strong search functionality and quick file sharing, which save a lot of time when I need to revisit past discussions or track down specific information.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One thing I dislike about it is that important messages can easily get buried in busy channels, especially on large teams with constant notifications. It can also feel overwhelming at times to keep up with multiple conversations happening across channels and direct messages. On top of that, the free version’s message history limitations make it harder to go back to older discussions or find shared files when I need them.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack addresses the problem of fragmented workplace communication by combining messaging, collaboration, file sharing, and app integrations in one centralized platform. Rather than relying on long email threads or constantly switching between different tools, teams can communicate in real time and stay aligned more easily. For me, this has improved collaboration, shortened response times, and made it simpler to track project updates, share knowledge, and coordinate work across teams.

 ### 18. A Vital Business Instant Messaging Solution that Has a Flexible, Visual and Approachable Interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abel K. | Real Estate Development Manager, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack has an approachable, visual, and conversational user interface that streamlines team communication and collaboration.
We can share project updates, progress, and other important project details through its channel-based setup, which helps improve transparency across the team.
I like Slack because it’s easy to tailor the dashboard and features to fit my team’s needs.

It’s an innovative business instant-messaging solution that supports our workflows by letting us share ideas and brainstorm in one centralized place.
I also feel confident using it for both personal and company-sensitive information, since it offers advanced, reliable security capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

At times, your focus when working may get disrupted when using this business instant messaging solution due to the constant notifications.
The search functionality of Slack is not effective.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack is a vital business instant messaging tool for our company because it optimizes our workspace and helps us work as a united, up-to-date team.
It supports extensive app integrations, which enhance our productivity and streamline our workflows.
It’s also a user-friendly tool that keeps our conversations organized by project, making day-to-day work easier for us.
On top of that, its advanced AI-enhanced features provide dependable conversation summaries.

 ### 19. Intuitive and Collaborative, Minor Setting Glitch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria F. | Business Development Representative, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like how easy Slack is to use. It's very similar to any messaging tool that we use for personal usage, so it's not really anything you need to learn to get used to. I find the integration with outside teams helpful, especially being able to invite them into one Slack channel. Creating internal Slack channels is also very helpful because the whole team gets the message instead of sending messages individually. The initial setup of Slack was very easy, especially the mobile application, which is very similar to apps like WhatsApp and iMessage, making it very simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Sometimes when I change settings for the time zone not to be updated automatically, it still does that. I believe this might be because I have it on several devices like my phone, laptop, and tab. I'm not sure why, but sometimes it just automatically changes the time zone.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack lets me reach anyone in the company, even if I don’t have their contact details. Creating channels is helpful for communicating with the whole team at once, avoiding individual messages.

 ### 20. Central Hub for Team Collaboration and Client Interaction

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Candy N. | Global Digital Marketing Expert, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I enjoy the social aspect of communicating with colleagues and like having all my client channels and teams together in one place within Slack, so we can collaborate effectively. I also like that you can integrate apps for workflows and automation, which is useful for quickly updating tasks and collecting data. Slack makes it easier to reach people and get information quickly, and I found the initial setup of Slack to be very easy.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I would love to face more integration options and improved built on AI that doesn’t come at extra costs.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack to communicate with my company and clients, share updates, and collaborate. It's easier to reach people, gather information, and integrate apps for workflows. It streamlines communication, automates tasks, and helps with data collection.

 ### 21. Powerful Communication and Workflow Management Tool for Enterprise Teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chaitanya S. | Catalog Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like most about Slack is how effectively it streamlines team communication and collaboration. The channel-based structure keeps conversations clearly organized by project or topic, making it easier to track discussions and cutting down on cluttered email threads. I also really appreciate the strong search feature, because it helps me quickly find past messages, shared files, and important updates whenever I need them. In addition, the seamless integrations with tools like Google Drive, Jira, GitHub, and Zoom make workflow management smoother by bringing key work and related conversations into one place. Overall, Slack helps boost productivity, improves communication transparency, and supports real-time collaboration in a very user-friendly way.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One thing I dislike about Slack is how overwhelming the notifications can become, especially in large teams with many active channels. With constant updates coming in, important messages can sometimes get buried, which makes it harder to stay focused. The search feature is helpful overall, but tracking down very old conversations or specific files can still take a while when there’s a high volume of communication. On top of that, Slack can use a significant amount of system memory when it’s been running for long periods, which may impact performance on lower-end devices. Even with these drawbacks, it’s still a highly effective collaboration tool overall.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From my testing perspective, Slack has been especially valuable for improving coordination during regression cycles, production deployments, and critical issue validation. Its integrations with tools like Jira, Jenkins, GitHub, TestRail, and monitoring platforms provide instant notifications for build failures, bug updates, deployment status, and test execution results directly in the relevant channels. This supports faster decision-making and quicker response times when situations are high priority. The search functionality is also extremely helpful for tracing historical discussions, supporting root-cause analysis, and referencing past production issues or testing decisions without having to rely on manual documentation.

Another major benefit is the efficiency it brings to remote and hybrid work. Team members across different time zones can stay aligned through organized discussions, shared files, pinned documentation, and threaded conversations. In my experience, it has strengthened collaboration, reduced communication gaps, and improved overall productivity across testing and release management processes. While managing notifications can sometimes be challenging in very active workspaces, Slack remains one of the most reliable and effective collaboration platforms I’ve used in my professional work in software testing and quality assurance.

 ### 22. An absolute must for a company working remotely

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack is an absolute must for most companies. It allows for quick communication, easy file sharing (even large video files!), and disbursement of information. You can set up channels based on specific groups, which makes it easy to share information with just those needed. Pin files or messages to the channel, making it easy to find them later. There is an awesome feature where you can "remind me later" and then set a time when you want Slack to remind you about it. Or "save for later" where you can take messages and use them to create a to-do list that can be marked complete when done. You can even use different Slack accounts and easily navigate between the accounts to keep items separated. i.e. an internal Slack account with your company and another account with other companies that you do business with (clients, vendors, etc.) You can DM a specific person or smaller team. And of course, there is the integration of gifs, emoticons, photos etc which help keep communication fun! Our agency uses this everyday, all day.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Oftentimes communication can move very quickly if you have a large number of people in a channel. Messages could get easily lost in the conversation. However, with the new integrations of the save for later and remind me, this is helping to manage that issue.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication! Being that we have employees around the globe and working from home, this makes communication so easy. File sharing is quick and easy. Even large files are sent without compression, clogging inboxes or exceeding file size limits. Plus, with the integration features with Google Drive, Fellow, Asana it allows us to easily link to tasks, drives, files and more with a nice preview function. If there is an issue where not everyone in the group has access to the file, it will let you know and easily adjust permissions in Slack.

 ### 23. Integrative Powerhouse with Room for Search Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan T. | Senior Customer Success Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like the fact Slack has automations and integrations that make it a much more powerful tool. It really saves a lot of time when I can insert an emoji, for example, and get an automation in place so that it opens a Notion board and creates something in there. Same goes for tickets—it's connected automatically with HubSpot. So any new ticket that comes in that's under my name will notify me on the go. We work with cloud, Notion, and HubSpot, and they are all integrated into Slack, which makes it much more powerful.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Sometimes the searching, it's not so great. I wish it would be easier to find exactly what you're looking for.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack helps me get responses on the fly, review past experiences, and integrates with tools like HubSpot and Notion. Its automations and integrations save time by handling notifications and tasks automatically, making communication efficient.

 ### 24. Effortless Team Communication, Highly Recommended

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oluwabusayo A. | Accounting Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like using Slack for work because I can keep in contact with my colleagues and everyone in my organization. I appreciate the interface where everything is just in one place, allowing me to easily switch from community to individual DMs. I like that everything is visible, and I can always find what I'm looking for, including apps and emojis. Recording and sending video messages is a great feature because it helps me stay in touch with my colleagues and lighten up the day. The interface design is also pleasing, especially since it features purple, my favorite color. Once logged in, using Slack is very easy, and everything is open and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

It took me a while to get used to the thread, reply with thread, or reply to a message. Because most times when I want to reply to messages, I send things to the whole channel instead of thread. Now I've gotten the hang of it.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack solves the problem of consolidating everything in one place, making it easy to switch between community and individual DMs.

 ### 25. Great Collaboration and Dark Mode, But Bot Setup and Automation APIs Need Work

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

It’s easy to connect with team members and stay up to date on project deliverables. I also really love the dark mode feature. That said, setting up a bot is pretty difficult, and there’s no REST API available for automation. Because of that, it becomes a painful process to create a new bot, set up permissions, and then wait for approval from Slack admins, which feels tedious. Performance-wise, it’s lightweight and quick, and it doesn’t consume much RAM. I haven’t fully tried the new Slack AI yet, but from my initial testing it seems to search for data much better than the conventional search, so I’m excited to use it more.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

There are no REST APIs exposed for users or developers to consume, which makes automation through code much harder. The workflows also don’t offer many vital integrations, and it becomes difficult to get things approved. It would be much better if an ordinary user had more control over their account through REST APIs and PATs, instead of having to go the route of creating a bot.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps teammates connect more quickly. Instead of calling someone for every single question, they can just send a message, and whenever the other person gets a chance, they respond. It’s also useful to use workflows and bots to query containers running in a cluster and post the output directly in chat, so not every user has to manually go into the cluster and execute commands.

 ### 26. Effortless Team Communication with Intuitive Slack

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunil J. | Business Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack to connect with my team members and my AI agent for cold outreach, and I find it facilitates effective communication and makes sharing files easy. I appreciate Slack’s beginner-friendly design and how it offers both a free plan and an affordable paid plan for startups. The initial setup was super simple for our small team. We've been using Slack for the past five years, and it has met our needs well.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

It sometimes feels too cluttered. Minimalistic options could make the user experience great. It needs to have basic features for beginner users and should have an advanced option where people could explore more features.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack to connect with my team and an AI agent. It effectively solves communication issues, makes file sharing easy, and joining groups is straightforward.

 ### 27. Lightweight Yet Powerful: Slack Keeps Teams Organized with Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saunak D. | Consultant, Consulting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like best about Slack is how it manages to feel both lightweight and powerful at the same time. The interface is clean and intuitive, so you don’t get bogged down in clutter, but beneath that simplicity there’s a ton of flexibility. For example, the ability to create channels for different projects or teams keeps conversations organized and prevents the chaos of endless email threads.

Another standout is the integrations. Slack connects seamlessly with tools like Google Drive, Trello, and Zoom, which means you can stay in one workspace without constantly switching tabs. It genuinely reduces friction in daily workflows.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

What I dislike about Slack is that it can become overwhelming if your team isn’t disciplined about how they use it. The constant stream of notifications can make it hard to focus, especially when multiple channels are buzzing at once. Even with customization options, it sometimes feels like you’re fighting against distraction rather than working with a productivity tool.

Another pain point is thread management. While threads are meant to keep conversations organized, they often get buried or ignored, leading to fragmented discussions. It’s easy to miss important context if people don’t reply in the right place.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack is solving the problem of scattered, inefficient communication by bringing everything into one organized space, and that directly benefits me in several ways. Instead of drowning in endless email chains or juggling multiple apps, Slack provides real-time communication that speeds up collaboration and decision-making. Its channel organization keeps conversations focused and prevents irrelevant noise from cluttering my workflow. The seamless integrations with tools I already use mean I don’t waste time switching between platforms, while the strong knowledge retention ensures that files, discussions, and decisions are searchable and preserved for future reference. Most importantly, Slack makes remote collaboration feel natural, helping distributed teams stay connected and engaged. Altogether, it transforms communication from a source of frustration into a streamlined, productive, and even enjoyable part of work

 ### 28. Effortless Team Communication, Needs Better File Handling

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshu N. | Social media manager, Consumer Goods, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like that Slack makes it unnecessary for me to share my personal WhatsApp number with colleagues. I also appreciate the cloud storage, as it means I can access even files from five years ago easily. It makes everything much more conveniently located in one place rather than spread across various apps and devices. This feature makes it easy to quickly access old files, share large media, and keep working without the hassle of managing local storage or manual file transfers. The initial setup was quite easy too, just needing to set up an organization, create channels, and invite people.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

If I have got multiple files from someone, I have to download each one separately. It has a download all button, but that never works. It should work properly. If a person sent me 5 videos, I want them to be downloaded together at the click of a button.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack for work interactions and sharing content, avoiding sharing my personal number. It keeps everything in one place with cloud storage, making it easy to access old files and share large media without worrying about storage.

 ### 29. Great for Collaboration, but Chat History Limits

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aman J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I used Slack for a course from Algozenith to keep in touch with mentors and fellow batchmates, which was really convenient. It was handy for sharing meet links for classes and notes. I appreciate that Slack doesn't require entering a phone number(as i am not bound for signing in based on cellular network signal) and works via email using OTP or email links, so I don't need to remember passwords. I like the various provisions of different text channels as they can be used for discussions on different topics. I also find the huddle feature useful for voice calls over Wi-Fi, making conversational discussions faster and more natural. The initial setup was very easy, which I appreciated.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

The chat history is not available after 90 days and you need to purchase a pro version to see chat history.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack to connect with mentors and batchmates for a course, share class links and notes, use different channels for topic discussions, and the huddle feature allows for natural voice conversations over Wi-Fi.

 ### 30. Critical Communication Hub with Essential Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenan D. | TechOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like how Slack is fast and efficient, making communications across teams at our company seamless. It keeps all teams aligned in real-time, especially during deployment and cross-functional projects. One of the biggest advantages is the integrations with tools like Jira, GitHub, and Datadog. For example, when there is a payment processing alert or deployment update, notifications appear instantly in the relevant Slack channels, allowing teams to coordinate without delays. I also appreciate how organized communication can be through dedicated channels, so the collaboration is more transparent, sharing updates quickly and maintaining visibility across ongoing projects.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One challenge with Slack is that communication can become overwhelming as the company scales, which makes it difficult to keep track of important updates and avoid information overload. Another issue is that important decisions can get buried quickly in fast moving channels, especially during major incidents. While the integrations are very useful, notification management is also a concern. Alerts from different channels can be noisy during busy periods, making prioritization harder at times.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack reduces communication delays and helps my team stay aligned across departments. It centralizes coordination for deployments and incident responses and enables cross-functional collaboration by integrating with Jira, GitHub, and Confluence for seamless updates and notifications.

 ### 31. Easy Cross-Platform Integration and Automated Status Updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wajid ali a. | Online Marketing Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

How it has cross platform integration and how easy it is to automate the status updates which are performed over other platforms, as we are using it with clickup right now.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

sometimes it becomes tedious to find the channel which concern the same task/objective/client discussion group as the channels get aligned usually basis on the recency of the update given or reply received.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is saving major 2 things. 1. The centralisation of multiple tasks, so that I do not need to juggle continuously over platforms to get the grasp of movements over tasks. 2. I can directly reply and update the pendencies basis on the platform channel as it is mentioned separately over slack other than messages.

 ### 32. Streamlines Communication, Impressive Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anant k. | Java Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I love how Slack removes friction from collaboration. Conversations organized by channel help keep context, allowing me to jump into a project thread and instantly grasp where things stand. Slack is a breeze for file and document sharing, making it easy to bring the right information forward at the right time. The platform's integrations are fantastic, connecting seamlessly with tools like Asana, Jira, and Google Drive, making it a centralized hub for all project activities. Notifications keep me updated without being overwhelming, and the search functionality is strong, so I can easily find decisions, files, and conversations. Setting up Slack is super easy; creating a workspace takes just minutes without needing an IT department or complex configuration. It's genuinely one of the easiest SaaS tools to launch.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Notification Overload. When you're in many channels, notifications can become relentless. Finding the right balance between staying informed and being constantly interrupted takes real effort to configure — and even then it's imperfect. Slack's notification system is powerful but blunt. As teams grow and channels multiply, users often find themselves in a constant state of interruption. The challenge isn't just volume — it's relevance. Not every message tagged in a busy channel deserves the same urgency, yet Slack treats them similarly by default.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack streamlines project management and team collaboration, eliminating email clutter and enhancing workflow with integrations. It organizes conversations by channel for clarity and allows instant communication with minimal scheduling. However, managing notifications requires effort to avoid constant interruptions.

 ### 33. Mainstay Communication Tool with Stellar Organization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rudra C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack as my primary communication hub for work, and it has replaced emails almost entirely for my day-to-day team conversations. Slack solves communication fragmentation for me by bringing all my conversations into one place, making it much easier to not miss anything important or lose context. I love how Slack solves the back and forth delay of emails, letting me get quick answers within minutes. Channels and threading are probably what I appreciate the most as they stand out by keeping things remarkably organized. The ability to contain an entire project's conversation in one channel and then thread individual topics within it is really valuable. Channels provide intentional organization where communications become self-sorting, and threading keeps busy channels from becoming chaotic, elegantly handling conversations, replies, and contexts. Slack also stands out in how it blends with the broader ecosystem, especially with Google Workspace and Zoom.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

There are some rough edges but one thing I would like to point out is the huddles feature. While useful, it still feels kind of underdeveloped compared to other tools like Zoom or Teams. It lacks functionality you would expect.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack as my primary communication hub, solving communication fragmentation by consolidating conversations in one place and eliminating email delays. It ensures quick responses and organized conversations through channels and threading.

 ### 34. Keeps project communication in one place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele V. | Content & Executive Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

As an Executive Assistant supporting consulting and client-based projects, I use Slack daily to coordinate work across multiple teams and time zones. We rely heavily on project channels and client-specific channels so discussions stay organized instead of scattered across email.

One of the biggest advantages for us is the Salesforce integration. Notifications for new opportunities, task updates, and follow-ups appear directly in Slack so I can immediately assign or clarify actions with the team without opening multiple systems. This significantly speeds up response time for client requests.

Threads help keep decisions tied to the original message, especially when leadership, delivery teams, and operations are all involved in the same project. I also frequently use search to retrieve past agreements, project instructions, and shared files instead of asking colleagues again.

Overall it acts as our operational command center rather than just a chat tool.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

During busy projects, notifications can get overwhelming and messages pile up quickly if I step away for a while. Even when something isn’t directed to me, I still get notified and end up checking it, which breaks focus and eats up time. I usually mute channels or set reminders to manage it. Important updates can also get buried when multiple conversations happen at once, especially if people don’t consistently use threads.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Slack, we relied on Microsoft Teams, and conversations were harder to keep in context and scattered across different threads, which made follow-ups slower. Now most discussions live in one place, and it’s easier to share documents, updates, and decisions within the right channel. I can track approvals and action items without chasing people individually. It speeds up coordination, reduces repeated questions, and helps projects keep moving even when teammates are in different time zones.

 ### 35. Centralized Communication with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhushan K. | Financial Analyst ( Goldman Sachs ), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I find that Slack has become the central nervous system for our office communication. The ability to segment projects into specific channels helps keep our workflows organized, which is a big relief from the 'email fatigue' that used to plague our team. I love the seamless integration Slack has with tools like Google Drive and Zoom. What I appreciate most about Slack is how it manages to turn a chaotic stream of information into something actually searchable and organized. Also, the onboarding is very streamlined; creating a workspace is so quick and straightforward. Users often describe Slack as a tool they want to use, because the interface feels more intuitive and less 'clunky' compared to Microsoft Teams. Finally, the real power of Slack comes from the apps you plug into it; it's incredibly effective to bring workflows directly into channels without switching tabs.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

The 'Notification Trap' in Slack can be a bit overwhelming during peak hours, leading to 'notification fatigue.' It often makes me feel like I'm constantly reacting to pings rather than doing focused work. Also, as a team grows, finding important information and decisions becomes challenging, since they often get buried in long threads or across multiple channels. Even with a good search tool, it’s sometimes hard to remember where a conversation happened to find the context.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack organizes our office communication, minimizing email fatigue with channels for each project. It integrates seamlessly with other tools, streamlining workflows. However, notifications can be overwhelming at times. The searchability and organization of information turn chaos into something manageable.

 ### 36. A Collaborative Powerhouse with Room for UI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prayush G. | Risk Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I absolutely love the Huddle feature in Slack. We can quickly jump on a one-on-one call, and it doesn't feel too formal, which keeps the mood light and perfect for sharing ideas and discussing doubts or issues. I also enjoy how quickly we can share images and large files. Another feature I appreciate is the Slack bot, which is very efficient at keeping track of all chat conversations. It helps me easily create memos about meetings and gives me prompts for what to do, what not to do, and tracks pending tasks. The straightforward ease of setup was impressive too. Signing in with credentials and having everything ready to go, with an intuitive layout that doesn't take long to get used to, makes it very user-friendly. The GitHub integration is seamless and lets us handle PRs effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

For Slack, I feel like one thing that could be improved is the group organization. When we create some groups, it does not, I mean, it gets messy. When we are working in a lot of teams and connecting with different people, the dashboard side panel for the people and groups can get very messy. So that's one aspect I feel could be improved. Maybe introduce some subsections or a different UI element to segregate the groups and people a little bit better because we do get lost in that sidepanel.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our cross-functional team, Slack serves as our go-to platform for communication. It keeps us all informed about projects, helps us troubleshoot bugs and fosters collaboration on new features. The environment is incredibly collaborative, allowing us to share images and files easily and quickly jump into a Huddle.

 ### 37. Seamless Team Communication with Room for AI Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mythri K. | FinCrime Analyst - TM-EDD France, Banking, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack for workplace communication and love its ease of use in general. Slack makes the entire company structure accessible with one click, which is incredibly convenient. It's also easy to set up workflows and link other tools like Jira and spreadsheets for work. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, even with large teams. Everyone starts with setting up their emails and Slack profiles on day one.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

AI integration in Slack through Slackbot needs improvements. The recaps and organization of chats as per priority could be better. The constant notifications on threads that need to be manually muted are somewhat annoying. Slackbot AI occasionally has hallucinations, which can raise the risk of misinformation in high trust environments like Financial Crimes. Also, the activity section showing a constant unread update even when checked can be irritating because it keeps showing a red dot on the app, making it hard for the inbox to go to 0.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack helps with asynchronous communication across timezones, maintains to-do lists, offers reminders, and allows informal calls with huddles. It's easy to use, providing access to the company structure with one click, and integrates workflows with tools like Jira and spreadsheets.

 ### 38. Organized Channels and Integrations That Make Teamwork Faster

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nityam J. | Student, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like how organized Slack feels compared to regular messaging apps. Channels make it easy to separate work, projects, and team discussions without everything getting mixed together. I also like the integrations with other tools because it saves time and keeps communication in one place. Overall, it makes teamwork faster and more convenient.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Sometimes Slack can feel overwhelming, mainly because too many notifications and messages come in at once. In busy channels, important messages can easily get buried and be hard to find later. I also feel the free version has a few limitations, especially when it comes to accessing older message history and having enough file storage.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack helps solve the problem of scattered communication. Rather than constantly switching between emails, calls, and multiple apps, I can keep everything in one place. It makes it easier for me to stay up to date with team discussions, share files quickly, and communicate faster overall. As a result, I save time and collaboration feels more efficient, especially when working on group projects or doing remote work.

 ### 39. A solid daily driver for team communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Honestly, the thing I love most about Slack is how it just keeps everyone connected without feeling overwhelming. Channels make it really easy to keep different projects and teams separate, so I'm not drowning in one giant inbox. I also use threads constantly — they keep conversations organized and stop side discussions from cluttering up the main channel. The search is genuinely great too; I can dig up a file or a decision someone made months ago in seconds. Huddles have basically replaced quick "hop on a call" moments for our team, and the integrations with Google Drive, Zoom, and our project tools save me a ton of context-switching every day.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

If I had to nitpick, notifications can get really noisy if you're in a lot of active channels, and it takes a bit of time to fine-tune your settings so you only get pinged for things that actually matter. The free plan's message history limit can also be frustrating when you need to look something up from a while back. And on busy days the desktop app can feel a little heavy on memory — my laptop fan definitely lets me know it's running. None of these are dealbreakers for me, but they're the small things I'd love to see polished up.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack is really our main solution for cutting down on internal email and keeping communication moving fast. Before we adopted it, important updates would get buried in long email threads and people would miss context, especially across time zones. Now everything lives in a channel where the right people can catch up at their own pace. It's made cross-team collaboration so much smoother — designers, engineers, and project managers can all jump into the same thread instead of scheduling another meeting. Quick decisions that used to take half a day of back-and-forth now happen in minutes through huddles or a quick DM. It's genuinely saved our team a lot of time and helped us stay aligned, even when half of us are remote.

 ### 40. Efficient Communication Hub with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyanga J. | Virtual Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack for internal team communication, project updates, and quick response times. I appreciate how it keeps conversations organized by channels and allows for specific topic discussions in threads. The ability to share documents easily reduces the need for long email chains and helps me stay connected with team members. I like that Slack keeps communication quick and organized with separate channels for different teams and projects. Threads help keep discussions clear, making it easier to manage things. I also enjoy how smoothly Slack supports both quick conversations and structured team discussions. The integrations with tools like Google Drive, Zoom, and Calendar app are very useful and make daily work much easier for me, as they save time by bringing everything into one place for quick updates and meeting access. The initial setup of Slack was quite easy, smooth, and user-friendly. We could invite members, create channels, and start using it without complex training.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Too many channels and notifications sometimes feel overwhelming for me. When the workspace is very active, it's easy to miss some messages. I think the notification settings and message prioritization could be improved. The search feature can be better when trying to find some specific old message.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack simplifies team communication, reducing long email chains and allowing quick access to people across diverse locations. It organizes conversations into channels and threads for easy project updates and minimizes tool-switching with integrations like Google Drive and Zoom, aiding quick access to information and meetings.

 ### 41. Efficient Team Collaboration Platform with Powerful Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack has been a very reliable communication platform for our team collaboration and daily workflow management. The UI is clean, modern, and easy to navigate, even for new users. I especially like how channels, threads, and direct messages help keep conversations organized instead of getting lost in long email chains.

One of Slack’s biggest strengths is its integration ecosystem. It connects smoothly with tools like Google Drive, Jira, GitHub, Zoom, and many other productivity platforms, which makes project coordination much easier. Notifications and workflow automation also save a lot of manual effort.

In terms of performance, the platform is generally fast and stable across desktop and mobile devices. File sharing, quick search, and message syncing work very well. However, sometimes the desktop app can feel slightly heavy on system resources when multiple workspaces are active.

From a pricing perspective, the free version is useful for small teams, but larger organizations may find the premium plans a bit expensive. That said, the productivity improvements and communication efficiency usually provide a good return on investment for active teams.

Customer support and onboarding are also strong points. Setting up workspaces and inviting team members is straightforward, and the help documentation is detailed enough for most users to get started quickly.

The newer AI-powered features, like message summaries and search assistance, are promising and help improve productivity by reducing time spent catching up on conversations.

Overall, Slack is an excellent collaboration and communication tool that improves team coordination, especially for remote and hybrid work environments.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One thing I dislike about Slack is that notifications can become overwhelming, especially in large organizations with many active channels. It sometimes becomes difficult to keep track of important conversations when there are constant message updates throughout the day.

The desktop application can also consume a noticeable amount of system memory compared to some lighter communication tools. In addition, the search feature, while useful, occasionally struggles to surface older messages or files quickly when workspaces contain a large amount of historical data.

Another downside is the pricing structure for premium plans, which may feel expensive for startups or smaller teams that need advanced features like extended message history and better admin controls.

While Slack’s AI features are improving, some of them still feel limited and could become more context-aware to provide smarter summaries and recommendations.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack solves the problem of fragmented team communication by bringing messaging, file sharing, project discussions, and integrations into one centralized platform. Instead of relying heavily on long email threads or switching between multiple tools, teams can collaborate in real time through organized channels and direct communication.

This has benefited me by improving response time, reducing communication gaps, and making collaboration much smoother, especially while working on development tasks with distributed teams. Features like searchable conversations, threaded discussions, and integrations with tools like Jira and GitHub help keep project updates and technical discussions in one place, which increases productivity and saves time.

Slack also helps with transparency across teams because important updates, announcements, and decisions are easier to track and revisit when needed. Overall, it creates a more efficient and organized workflow for day-to-day team collaboration.

 ### 42. Efficient Communication, Seamless Tool Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alok p. | Software Developer Internship, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack for work, mainly to communicate with my teammates. I find the UI very clean and easy to navigate, which helps me communicate faster. I love how easy it is to configure Slack bots, which we use for notifications like server errors and merging development changes to production. I also appreciate Slack's huddle feature for quick meetings. The channels feature helps in separating conversations by projects or teams, reducing clutter. I find it great that Slack bots automate routine tasks like reminders, deployment updates, and status alerts, which cuts down on manual work. Integrating many tools like Loom and Zight into Slack is straightforward. Lastly, the initial setup was simple and user-friendly, with a quick guide that was very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I wish they could add a record option in Huddle so we can review meetings and share them with teammates who weren't present. Also, I'm using Slack on Ubuntu, and every time I start my system and open Slack, it prompts me to sign up via the browser. Sometimes the default Slack bots bother me, like when I share a Drive link, and it alerts me a few minutes later that I haven't integrated the service in Slack.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack for faster communication with my teammates. Channels reduce clutter by separating projects, while bots automate tasks like notifications and deployment updates, cutting down on manual work.

 ### 43. Instant Team Sync and Seamless Dev Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yash D. | Software Development Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack every day to communicate with my teammates, and it's a really great way to collaborate with teams. The messaging and link sharing, as well as JSON or code sharing, is really smooth. I really love the Huddle feature as it lets me instantly connect with colleagues through audio and video, and I can even screen share. It's perfect for those quick syncs that don't need a full invite. As a developer who works with JSONs and code, being able to send code and JSON files in the proper format is a huge plus. The integration with apps like JIRA is really useful, as I get notifications when a ticket is updated, assigned, or commented on. Setting up Slack was too easy with the simple Google login.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One issue is Huddle has no feature of recording, so whoever misses the call has no way to catch up. Like Zoom lets you record and save meetings easily, but Huddle has no way to catch up.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack for seamless team communication and collaboration. It reduces the clutter of email and unnecessary meetings, keeps important updates organized, and offers great features like Huddle for instant audio/video calls and smooth code sharing.

 ### 44. Robust Messaging Platform with a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shailesh J. | Quality Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I really like Slack because it is just so easy to use. Each and every feature seems like it has been enhanced in a way that no other software can easily replace it. The tagging system is great because we can tag people and easily navigate through each group. I have over 150 projects, and the navigation is really easy. One of the best features is the ability to swipe through all the tags if someone has tagged me or if there is a post related to me. Slack has a feature that allows me to swipe back and check for messages I might have missed, which is really helpful. This has been really beneficial for me, especially when I discover that I've missed an important message after a few days. I can just swipe and find it. Another great thing is that Slack is easily integrated into nearly all software and CRMs, which I find very useful because I use it everywhere for my office purposes.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Sometimes there's not enough customization related to when it should show us automatically active. There are some options available, but I think there should be more customizations. The setup was a little complicated, and it's not that easy to use. It takes some time to get used to it, especially for new team members, because of the learning curve.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack makes it easy to navigate groups for my work, handle over 150 projects, and use tags effectively. The feature to swipe and catch missed messages is really helpful for completing tasks accurately.

 ### 45. User-Friendly, Effective Communication Tool with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heartfelt T. | Senior Catalog Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like that Slack is very user friendly and easy to use. The emoji selection is really very nice, allowing me to quickly communicate emotions or reactions without always having to type everything out. There's a wide option of emojis which is great because not everything needs to be communicated through text; sometimes an emoji can convey what I mean just as effectively. I also appreciate the multiple thread functions, which help in managing conversations easily. This feature is especially useful when there are multiple people discussing various issues, as it allows us to reply on specific threads without losing track of the conversation.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I think, yeah, the prompting thing, actually. So whenever we sometimes, you know, type a lot of paragraphs and sentences, I want to prompt about the incorrect spellings and stuff and what could be the correct spelling. I think that is the part that is missing right now. But, yes, that is a scope of improvement in Slack.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack to communicate with my team, create groups for large audiences, initiate quick conference calls, and summarize details with AI bot features.

 ### 46. the digital central nervous system: a double-edged sword for the modern workplace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shlok T. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

slack is the definitive replacement for the fragmented mess of corporate email by forcing communication into organized searchable channels that actually make sense for a workflow

why it works
the primary strength of the platform is how it functions as a central nervous system for operations it doesnt just host chat it integrates directly with dev tools like github and management platforms like jira which minimizes the constant context switching that kills productivity

organizational clarity channels allow for topical focus so conversations about specific projects dont get buried in a general inbox

huddles this feature successfully mimics real life desk side chats by offering low friction audio without the exhaustion of a scheduled video call

the tradeoff
while it excels at connectivity it creates a culture of perceived urgency the notification bait can lead to a fragmented focus where employees spend more time talking about work than actually doing it if a team lacks the discipline to set boundaries slack becomes a high speed distraction machine

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

slack is far from a perfect tool and its greatest strengths often double as its most frustrating flaws when used in a high pressure environment

the productivity trap
the biggest issue is the illusion of productivity slack creates a culture of "performative presence" where staying green on the sidebar becomes more important than actual deep work the constant stream of notifications and the "always on" expectation can fragment a developers focus making it nearly impossible to enter a flow state without aggressively silencing the app

search and data silos
while the search is decent it becomes a nightmare in large organizations information gets buried in private channels or direct messages creating silos where knowledge goes to die if you arent in the right channel you are locked out of the context and trying to find a specific decision made three months ago in a high volume thread is like looking for a needle in a digital haystack

the cost of entry
the pricing model is borderline predatory for growing teams the jump from the free tier to a paid plan is steep and because slack locks your message history behind a paywall it essentially holds your company’s internal knowledge base hostage until you pay up

feature bloat
recent updates have pushed the interface toward clutter the addition of clips stories and various "productivity" widgets often feel like unnecessary bloat that slows down the desktop client it started as a lightweight chat tool but is slowly turning into the very type of heavy enterprise software it originally sought to replace

verdict
it is an engagement monster that rewards speed over quality unless a team has strict protocols for how and when to use it slack quickly devolves from a communication tool into a source of constant anxiety and distraction

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

slack fundamentally addresses the fragmentation of professional life by consolidating disparate workflows into a single interface

the core problems it solves
information silo destruction before slack institutional knowledge was trapped in individual email inboxes which made onboarding a nightmare and caused repeated mistakes because the "why" behind a decision was invisible to the rest of the team channels provide a transparent history of every project

the toggle tax switching between a browser for jira a desktop app for github and an email client for communication is a massive cognitive drain by integrating these tools into one sidebar slack reduces the friction of moving between development and coordination

sync vs async balance scheduled meetings are often an expensive waste of time slack solves this by offering huddles for quick 5-minute syncs and threads for long-form async updates which allows people to work on their own schedules without losing the pulse of the team

how it benefits the workflow
the primary benefit is the creation of a searchable brain for the organization when a bug pops up or a client asks for a specific detail from a meeting three months ago the answers are accessible in seconds rather than being lost in the void of a deleted email thread

it also streamlines the development lifecycle by acting as a notification center for code reviews and deployment statuses you don't have to go looking for updates the updates find you in a place where you can immediately discuss them with the team

ultimately it transforms work from a series of isolated tasks into a continuous collaborative stream but as mentioned before the benefit only holds if you have the discipline to shut it off when it’s time to actually get the work done

 ### 47. Streamlined Global Team Collaboration with Slack

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria B. | Especialista en operaciones, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I really like Slack because it makes communication with a global team very easy. The channels allow us to keep conversations organized by project or topic, so finding information is simple. I also appreciate the real-time messaging and notifications, which help me stay updated and respond quickly. The huddle feature makes my work even easier. Slack helps streamline collaboration and keeps everyone aligned, even when working across different time zones. Additionally, the integration with other tools helps centralize information, improving our workflow. The initial setup was very easy, and our team adopted it quickly without needing much guidance or training.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One area where Slack could be improved is thread notifications. Sometimes it's easy to miss replies in threads, especially when there are many active conversations at the same time. Improving the visibility and consistency of thread notifications would make it easier to follow discussions and ensure that important responses are not overlooked. Beyond thread notifications, one possible improvement could be giving users more flexibility to customize notifications, so it's easier to prioritize what really needs attention.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack to keep my global team connected with real-time messaging. It organizes conversations by channels, helping us stay updated and reducing confusion. Its integrations with other tools streamline our workflow, making collaboration more efficient even across different time zones.

 ### 48. Seamless Integration and Efficient Communication Hub

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akhil J. | Product Specialist - Founder's Office, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I really like Slack's ease of usability. It's great how everything gets synchronized easily when dropping messages or sharing files. Communicating across different channels and subchannels is very straightforward and organized, so it's hard to get confused. The responsiveness and speed of Slack make it an excellent tool for our team.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Sometimes the notifications are missed when a new update is pushed. This kind of destroys and delays and costs a lot in ROI. Notifications can be lost not because of any misconfigured settings or some actual bug at the end, but it generally happens when Slack tries to update. Over time, Slack becomes buggy, or when a new feature is pushed, sometimes old features break. The dependency on Slack is a lot, and that becomes a real challenge.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Slack for real-time communication across multiple time zones, both internally and with clients. It integrates with various tools, keeps everything organized, and replaces sluggish email and less responsive platforms.

 ### 49. Seamless Communication but Needs Better Free-plan Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ritam D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I use Slack for projects and team communications, and it keeps everything organized much more efficiently than email for day-to-day activities. The channel system is what I like the most; being able to create separate channels for different subjects and projects keeps everything neatly organized. I don't have to scroll through giant chats to find what I need. I have separate channels for each subject, general group chats, and even a private one for saving links and resources. Setting up Slack was pretty straightforward, and the onboarding flow did a decent job of walking me through the basics. Slack has genuinely transformed how I collaborate with classmates.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

The 90 days message history and free plan limitation means my older conversations and files disappear. It would be useful to revisit old conversations and connect it seamlessly. This limit on the free plan is honestly the biggest highlight. Reference with old notes is missing; whether it is a study resource or professor advice shared in group, it disappears after 90 days. There's no way to recover without upgrading the current plan.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack organizes project communications, eliminating chaos from email and WhatsApp. The channel system keeps my subjects and projects separate, saving me from scrolling through endless chats. It's more organized, centralizing files, deadlines, and conversations in one spot.

 ### 50. Friendly, Simple Collaboration with Helpful Extensions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patchala D. | Associate 2, Accounting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Slack?**

It’s very friendly and straightforward to connect with other team members, including people working remotely. It’s also easy to use, with no complex UI, and that’s my favorite part. Another thing I really like is the extensions, which help me organize my day in a better way.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I don’t really have anything to hate about it. Overall, I’d say it’s a really good product. One feature I’d love to see is voice-to-text and text-to-voice, which would be a nice addition. A discount on pricing for individual users would also be appreciated. The onboarding is easy, and I have no complaints about that part. It’s also nice that new AI features are being added. And to be frank, I don’t have any complaints about performance either.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps connect people in different locations at the best speed possible on earth. It’s also handy and easy to use.
