Slack Reviews FAQs

Last updated: Nov 04, 2026

What is Slack, and what problem is it built to solve?

It is used to bring workplace conversations into one place so colleagues can communicate and coordinate across teams. In everyday use, channels and direct messages help teams share updates, ask questions, and discuss work in real time.

What languages does Slack support?

It supports 10 languages, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, French, and German, among others.

What company sizes and industries is Slack the best fit for?

Slack is most closely suited to teams across small businesses, mid-sized organizations, and enterprises, with especially strong representation from mid-sized teams. Common industry settings include:
  • Company size: Mid-market teams, followed by small businesses and enterprise organizations.
  • Retail and machinery: Both appear prominently among the industries using Slack.
  • Technology and manufacturing: Computer software and electrical/electronic manufacturing are also well represented.
  • Telecommunications and automotive: These are additional recurring industry settings.

What customer support options does Slack provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Slack provides support through FAQs and forums, a knowledge base, email or help-desk assistance, and chat. The support experience comes across as serviceable, with a positive mention of prompt IT resolution, though it is not consistently described as a standout part of using the product.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Slack from another tool?

Switching to Slack is often about getting team communication out of scattered email chains or less structured chat tools and into channels, direct messages, and threads. The change can make discussions easier to organize and connect with other work tools, while Huddles offer a quick way to talk things through; teams moving from another workplace platform may need time to adjust to Slack’s interface and channel structure.

What tools and platforms does Slack integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Slack offers 409 integrations, helping teams bring updates and work from other tools into the same communication space. Commonly used connections include:
  • Productivity and file sharing: Google Drive and Google Workspace.
  • Project and developer tools: Jira, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
  • Customer and business systems: Salesforce and ServiceNow.
  • Meetings and collaboration: Zoom and Asana.
These connections can surface alerts, files, and work-item updates alongside conversations, reducing the need to switch between apps to stay informed or coordinate day-to-day work.

What features or capabilities could make Slack even more useful?

Slack could be more useful with better ways to manage busy workspaces and keep important information easy to act on. Recurring improvement requests include:
  • Smarter notifications: Make it easier to filter, prioritize, and quiet alerts so important messages are less likely to be missed.
  • More precise search: Improve filters and results for locating older messages, files, and decisions.
  • Clearer thread management: Make it easier to follow, summarize, and surface key decisions from long threads.
  • Stronger task tracking: Add clearer ways to assign and track follow-up work without relying on separate tools.

How useful do Slack users find its AI features in everyday use?

Slack’s AI is most useful for catching up on conversations and reducing repetitive writing or coordination. Users describe using it for:
  • Conversation summaries: Summarizing long threads or channels to catch up on discussions and key points.
  • Information discovery: Finding relevant details across conversations and getting answers about shared work.
  • Writing and workflow assistance: Drafting clearer messages and helping automate routine tasks.
These uses can save time, but summaries may miss context or details, so checking the original conversation remains important for decisions and action items.

"Simple, Organized Channels That Keep Our Team Connected"
5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

What I like most about Slack is how simple it makes communication and teamwork. I can quickly connect with colleagues, share updates, ask questions, and stay on top of what’s happening across the company. I also appreciate that conversations are organized into different channels, which makes it easier to find information later and keep track of important discussions without everything getting mixed together. Overall, it makes collaboration smoother, saves time, and helps everyone stay connected, even when we’re working remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

One thing I dislike about Slack is that it can sometimes feel overwhelming when too many messages and notifications come in at once. Important messages can easily get lost in the middle of ongoing conversations, and jumping between different channels can be distracting. I’d find it helpful if there were better ways to manage notifications and keep key updates more visible, so they don’t get missed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slack: Bringing Teams, Collaboration and AI Together"
4/5
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack offers an excellent collaboration experience with its intuitive and user-friendly UI/UX, making communication simple and organized. Its seamless integrations with platforms like Salesforce help connect business processes, automate workflows, and improve team productivity. The platform delivers reliable performance with smooth communication and quick access to information. Its features provide strong value for investment by reducing communication gaps and saving time. Slack also offers useful onboarding resources and learning opportunities that make it easier for new users to get started. I particularly appreciate Slack AI, which helps summarize conversations, find information quickly, and automate everyday tasks. Overall, Slack is a powerful platform that combines usability, integrations, performance, business value, support, and AI-driven intelligence to create a smarter and more productive workplace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Although Slack is an excellent collaboration platform, there are a few areas that could be improved. The large number of notifications and messages can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially in highly active channels. Finding specific information across multiple conversations could be easier, and some advanced features and AI capabilities may take time for new users to understand. Additionally, pricing can become a consideration for smaller teams and growing organizations. Improving notification management, simplifying navigation, and making advanced features more accessible would make the overall experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boosts Collaboration and Integrations, but Huddle Audio Can Be Unreliable"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack has significantly improved our team's communication and automated workflows. Key highlights include:

• Effective Collaboration: Quick calls, targeted discussion groups, and private channels make it easy to connect.

• Powerful Integrations: Seamless connections with Jira, ServiceNow, and Git provide real-time updates.

• Intuitive Design: The user-friendly interface ensures a smooth, friction-free onboarding experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I occasionally experience audio issues with Slack Huddles, including poor sound quality or a complete loss of audio. Currently, the only workaround is to leave and rejoin the call to restore functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Integrations and Powerful Search for Effortless Collaboration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

The best part of Slack is its seamless integration with other workplace tools like Google Drive and Jira. Additionally, its powerful search history makes it incredibly fast to find past files, shared links, and older conversations. Slack also provides an intuitive user interface that makes real-time collaboration effortless for remote teams. Features like huddles, quick emoji reactions, and direct messaging keep our daily workflow smooth, highly interactive, and easy to stay on top of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Frequent alerts and unmanaged channel activity break my concentration and disrupt deep work. Alerts can behave inconsistently across devices, with huddle notifications sometimes missing, and once an alert is opened it can be hard to track down again. On top of that, the strictly chronological chat feed makes it difficult to retrace steps, follow project decisions, or recover important context after dozens of newer messages have piled up. "Slack Makes Everyday Team Communication Easier"
4/5
What do you like best about Slack?

The best thing about Slack is how it comes so naturally in my everyday routine. I can freely exchange views and thoughts with my colleagues, seek help whenever I need an alternative opinion and exchange information without necessarily scheduling meetings all the time. Another nice feature for me is the possibility of holding a private discussion via direct messaging whenever required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

There is something that I think could be more convenient and that is tracking the messages when you have more than one conversation open at the same time. This could happen because some updates could be lost due to the number of new messages received. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Slack is how easy it makes team communication and collaboration. Channels help keep conversations organized by projects and topics, while direct messaging makes it simple to connect with teammates. I also find file sharing, integrations, and notifications very useful for staying updated, coordinating tasks, and ensuring everyone stays on the same page. Overall, Slack makes day-to-day collaboration faster and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slack Makes Team Collaboration Effortless"
5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack makes communication and collaboration much easier by keeping conversations organized, enabling quick file sharing, and integrating with other tools we use daily. Its search functionality and channel-based structure help teams stay productive and aligned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Slack is a great communication platform, but managing a large number of channels and notifications can sometimes become overwhelming. Important messages may occasionally get buried in active conversations, making it harder to keep track of key updates. The search functionality is useful, but finding very old messages or files can sometimes take extra effort. Better notification controls and organization features would further improve the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slack Keeps Team Communication Fast, Organized, and Easy to Follow"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

What I like most about Slack is how it makes team communication and collaboration quick and convenient. Having dedicated channels for different teams and projects helps keep discussions organized, while threads make it easier to follow specific conversations without cluttering the main channel. I also find the quick Huddle feature very useful when a discussion requires more than text. It allows us to jump into a quick voice conversation without having to schedule a formal meeting. Additionally, its integrations with other tools help bring different parts of our workflow together, making day-to-day collaboration much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

One thing I find challenging about Slack is managing the volume of notifications and ongoing conversations, especially when multiple channels are active at the same time. It can sometimes become difficult to identify important messages or keep track of discussions that need attention. Conversations spread across different channels and threads can also make it harder to follow the complete context. While Slack offers a lot of useful features, it can take some time for new team members to get familiar with the different functionalities and manage their notifications effectively. I also feel that the search experience could be improved to make finding older discussions and specific information easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Communication, Minor Notification Overload"
4/5
What do you like best about Slack?

I really appreciate how Slack centralizes communication and enhances task visibility, which is super helpful for our projects. The integration with work tools is seamless, allowing our team to be more connected and work efficiently. The automatic notifications are great because they help us receive alerts when tasks are assigned, and the system is excellent for reminding teams about deadlines. Slack's automation features that keep information flowing automatically are fantastic, reducing the need for manual coordination. It acts as a communication hub, providing faster communication sharing, great transparency, improved collaboration, and strong cross-functional coordination. We can spend less time copying information between systems and updating colleagues, which has a huge impact on the team's connectivity. Also, setting up Slack was really easy. With these features, decisions become easier to make and are well-documented and searchable. It's a lifesaver in reducing confusion and miscommunication among various teams when something changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

The notification fatigue is there. If an employee is working on a complex task, they may receive dozens of notifications throughout the day. So it may reduce productivity. Those are my concerns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slack Keeps Our QA Bug Reporting Fast and Organised"
4/5
What do you like best about Slack?

At Gallabox, Slack is the main place where our whole team talks every day. As a QA automation engineer, I use it to report bugs, discuss issues with developers and get quick answers without long email threads. Channels keep everything organised, so release updates, bug discussions and team announcements each have their own space. Threads are very useful, because when I report a bug, the whole discussion stays under that message and doesn’t get lost. Huddles make it easy to jump on a quick call and share my screen to show a bug live. I also like that we get automatic alerts in Slack from tools like GitHub, Sentry and testRigor, so I can see failed test runs and errors right away. The search is good for finding old discussions, and the mobile app helps me stay updated during releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

With so many channels and messages, notifications can get overwhelming, and important messages sometimes get buried. I have to spend time adjusting notification settings to avoid distraction. Searching for very old messages or files is not always accurate. The desktop app can feel heavy and slow on my laptop when many channels are open. Some useful features, like longer message history and advanced integrations, are only available on paid plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
