I like how Slack brings workplace communication into one place and makes it easy to collaborate through channels, messages, threads, and file sharing. Channels and threads help me keep discussions organized, follow project updates, and avoid mixing up topics. I can search for past conversations, files, and public threads without going through long email chains or asking colleagues for information, which saves me time. I also like being able to share files, switch between one-to-one and group conversations, and quickly share updates. Customized notifications help me prioritize important messages, and integrations bring updates from other workplace tools into one place. Slack makes it easy to stay informed, coordinate with colleagues and stakeholders, and keep teamwork organized, transparent, and efficient. I also find it easy to use on mobile, and the initial setup was easy and comfortable. I appreciate having conversations, files, meetings, and my Google Calendar in one place. I find notifications from multiple channels distracting, and it can be hard to identify important updates or find the settings to turn off notifications for certain channels. Search could be more accurate for older messages and specific files. I also find it difficult that Slack only stores three months of files, so conversations from longer projects can disappear. Important messages can get buried in busy channels, and I’d like better ways to prioritize urgent messages, organize and save information, and manage unread conversations. A guide in Slack would also help me find and understand the available features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
