"An Essential Hub for Modern Team Collaboration"
5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack drastically streamlines team collaboration. The channel-based layout and threaded conversations eliminate email clutter and keep updates focused. Additionally, the fast search capability, audio huddles, and smooth integrations with Google Drive and project management tools make daily workflow coordination intuitive and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Slack's free plan has significant limitations on message history and storage, which forces early upgrades. Furthermore, search filters can sometimes be finicky when looking for older, specific file attachments across extensive multi-channel histories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Interface, Smooth Integrations, and Threads That Keep Teams Organized"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack’s intuitive interface and smooth integrations have made it an indispensable part of our day-to-day workflow. The ability to connect apps like Google Drive, Jira, and GitHub directly within our channels significantly cuts down on context switching and keeps everything in one place. I also really value the threading feature, since it helps keep individual conversations organized without cluttering the main channel view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

The biggest downside is the pricing structure for smaller or growing teams. On the free tier, the limited message history is a major pain point because you lose access to past decisions and shared files. Upgrading does address this issue, but the per-user cost can become expensive quickly as your organization scales, which ultimately hurts the overall ROI for smaller businesses. "Simple and Effective Tool for Team Communication"
4/5
What do you like best about Slack?

What I like most about Slack is how easy it makes team communication. I can quickly message my teammates, share files, and keep different conversations organized in channels. It also helps keep project discussions in one place, rather than getting lost in long email threads, which makes it much easier to follow along and stay on the same page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

What I dislike about Slack is that it can get a bit noisy when there are lots of channels and notifications. With so many conversations happening at the same time, it’s sometimes easy to miss an important message in the mix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Efficient Team Collaboration with Powerful Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

I think the biggest advantage of Slack is fast communication and easy team collaboration. It's especially helpful when working with engineering teams across different time zones.

I like how we can organize discussions into channels, share updates, and quickly resolve technical issues.

Another benefit is its integration with tools like GitHub, Jira, and monitoring systems. We can receive deployment notifications and production alerts directly in Slack.

Overall, Slack helps teams stay connected, communicate efficiently, and solve problems faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I think the biggest downside of Slack is that it can become distracting, especially when there are too many messages and notifications throughout the day.

Sometimes important information gets buried in long conversations, and it can be difficult to find decisions later.

Another challenge is that people may expect immediate responses, which can interrupt focused engineering work.

So I think Slack is great for quick communication, but for important technical decisions, I prefer documenting them in Jira or Confluence so the whole team has a clear reference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Organized and efficient communication, although improvable for new users"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

I like Slack because it makes communication easy and organized. I can quickly send messages, share information and files, and organize conversations into channels. It also helps me find important information, not lose messages, and resolve doubts without so many calls or meetings. It facilitates teamwork and makes it faster and more efficient. The initial setup seemed quite easy to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Sometimes Slack can be confusing for new users, and I find it difficult to locate important messages when there are many conversations. I wish it were easier to use and navigate, with a simpler design, a clearer menu, and better tools for organizing and searching messages. The initial setup was quite easy, although some steps could be clearer; simple instructions and a short tutorial would help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Easy Teamwork—But Search and Notifications Need Work"
5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

I use Slack for work, and it makes team communication easy and fast. I can message colleagues, share files, and get project updates in one place without sending too many emails. It helps me keep project discussions organized, and direct messages make it easy to contact colleagues quickly. Sharing files and updates in one place saves time and makes teamwork easier. I also use Slack with email, calendar, and project management tools to coordinate with my team, and the integrations make daily work easier and save time. Slack was easy to install, easy for new people to understand, and has a neat, clean layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Sometimes Slack sends me too many notifications, which can distract me during work. I also find it difficult to find old messages or important information in busy channels. I’d like better control over notifications so I only get alerts for important messages and project updates, and better search filters by date, person, or channel. "Easy Collaboration and Automation, Though Multitasking Falls Short"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

I use Slack daily to communicate with my team, get updates from our corporate team, and call my team or individual members. It makes communication easier, and Slackbot does a lot of the heavy lifting through its integration with Google Workspace. I can ask it to review my email for anything urgent and create emails directly from Slack. Slack is simple to use, and I love the user interface. I like creating different channels for different people so the right people can collaborate and avoid miscommunication. I can create canvases anywhere to document processes and collaborate on projects, and sharing is easy. I also like being able to create workflows that automate mundane and complex tasks, including scheduling messages in a channel. Slack offers more functions than Asana, especially the huddle option, and I think it’s cost effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I find it kind of difficult to multitask because Slack only gives me one view. I’d like to open and minimize multiple tabs, and return to a particular chat when switching between DMs or channels without having to close everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Friendly, Efficient Team Communication—Though Status Settings Need Work"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

I think Slack has one of the friendliest interfaces for team communication. The notification sounds are nice to hear and effective, and they don’t allow for, like, micromanagement. I like being able to use multiple accounts in the same app and keep my work for different companies separate. I can have different notification sounds for each company, which is pretty useful. I also like channels, including private channels for private chats, and how I can keep different areas of my work in groups and communicate efficiently, rapidly, and accurately. It’s pretty easy to set up, and I like being able to access previous chats and review what was happening before I joined a group chat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I find the settings for my off hours a bit complicated, especially setting my working hours and when I won’t receive notifications. There also aren’t many status options. I’d like preset options like “be right back” or “at the doctor” instead of having to enter them manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slack Keeps Team Communication Fast, Organized, and All in One Place"
4/5
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack makes team communication fast and convenient. I like that conversations can be organized into channels for different projects and topics, which makes it easier to share updates, ask questions, and collaborate with teammates without everything getting mixed together. The direct messaging, file sharing, and integrations with other tools also help keep communication in one place and cut down on unnecessary emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

When multiple channels are active, it can be difficult to keep up with all the messages and notifications. Important information sometimes gets buried in long conversations, and finding older messages can take time. Frequent notifications can also be distracting when trying to focus on development tasks. "Slack as a Central Hub for Focused, Asynchronous Collaboration"
5/5
What do you like best about Slack?

Rather than constantly context-switching between different tools, Slack works as a central hub where CI/CD alerts, GitHub pull requests, and Jira tickets flow straight into dedicated channels. Well-organized channels help keep project conversations focused, and features like huddles and thread replies make it easy to collaborate quickly and asynchronously—without cluttering everyone’s inbox or pulling teammates into unnecessary meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Important technical decisions and key context often get buried in noisy threads, informal banter, and a steady stream of automated alerts from CI/CD pipelines or monitoring bots. Later, trying to navigate back through fragmented conversations to track down a specific decision or solution is a hassle compared with structured documentation. On top of that, the constant pinging can wreck deep-work focus unless you proactively and aggressively tune your notification settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
