## Semrush Reviews
 ### 1. All in One SEO Powerhouse That Saves Time and Delivers Clear Client Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is how easy it is to access SEO, keyword research, competitor insights, and reporting all in one platform. The Position Tracking and Site Audit tools are especially useful for quickly identifying opportunities and improving campaign performance. It saves our team a lot of time, and the reporting dashboards make it easy to share clear insights with clients.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

One downside of Semrush is that the platform can feel overwhelming at times due to the large number of tools and features available. Some reporting and data exports could also be more streamlined, especially when managing multiple campaigns. Pricing can be high for smaller teams, particularly when additional user seats or features are required.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us solve visibility and performance tracking challenges across SEO and digital marketing campaigns. Before using the platform, competitor research and keyword tracking were much more manual and time consuming. Now we can quickly identify opportunities, monitor rankings, audit websites, and provide clearer reporting to clients, which has improved efficiency and helped drive better campaign performance.

 ### 2. Powerful Advertising Research and PPC Keyword Tools for Smarter Campaigns

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use the Advertising Research section regularly for my clients to understand the lay of the competition. Getting visibility into who is also bidding on our keywords is helpful as well as seeing what they might be bidding on they we arent. I also use the PPC Keyword tool often to help me organize new keywords into campaigns and also organize my negative keywords as well.

The UI can sometimes be confusing to find what I am looking for. At times, I am not sure where to look and that drives me to use a different platform to find an answer.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Sometimes it's not straightforward in the UI. I have to poke around to find what I need, and even then, I might not get the answer I am looking for. It's not very intuitive in my experience, and sometimes I still feel like I need a tutorial even after using it for a few years. I am sure I am missing out on features that would be helpful.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me understand what my competition is doing differently and understanding where we rank against them. It helps with understanding preliminary performance and campaign planning for advertising. It helps my keyword planning as well.

 ### 3. Fast, Intuitive SEO Toolkit with Standout Keyword Magic and Keyword Gap

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The Keyword Magic Tool is a great asset for finding secondary keywords, especially since it's easily accessible directly from a keyword analysis. Navigation is smooth and intuitive throughout the platform.

I frequently use the Keyword Gap feature to uncover keywords my competitors are ranking for — it's one of my go-to tools. Overall, the platform loads quickly across all the features I use for SEO: domain overview, keyword research, keyword gap, and more. The ranking history for both projects and any website is particularly valuable for tracking trends over time.

On the downside, the pricing model based on the number of projects is quite limiting. We had to reduce our active projects to keep costs manageable, which means we can't fully leverage some features — like the social media scheduling calendar — since mixing Semrush tools with external alternatives for the same project creates workflow inconsistencies.

For SEO, a city- or region-level filtering option would be a meaningful improvement. As for the AI Search tool, I haven't tested it yet since it comes at an additional cost, and I'm currently covering those needs with more affordable alternatives.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding keywords, do competition analysis.

 ### 4. Semrush Streamlines SEO with Powerful Research and AI Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is how it combines competitive research, keyword research, and AI-powered insights in one platform. The keyword and competitor analysis tools help us identify new opportunities and track our performance against competitors, while the AI research features have become especially valuable for content planning. The AI tools provide actionable recommendations on what content to add to our website, help us understand how we are performing in search, and make it easier to prioritize SEO efforts that can have the biggest impact. Overall, Semrush saves our team significant time and helps us make more informed marketing decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The interface can be very overwhelming and is not very intuitive.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us solve several key digital marketing challenges, including identifying the right keywords to target, understanding how we compare to competitors, and determining what content will drive the best results. Before using Semrush, gathering this information required multiple tools and a significant amount of manual research. Now, we can quickly analyze competitor strategies, uncover new search opportunities, and use AI-driven insights to guide our content decisions.

The biggest benefit is that we can make data-driven decisions faster and with greater confidence. Semrush helps us prioritize content that is most likely to improve our search visibility, track our SEO performance, and stay ahead of competitors. This has helped us streamline our marketing efforts, save time, and focus resources on initiatives that deliver measurable results.

 ### 5. Complete Data, Powerful Tracking, and Clear GA4/Search Console Dashboards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The completeness of the data, the wide range of possibilities, and the tracking options. In addition, there are interesting integrations, such as GA4 and Search Console, which make everything clear through various dashboards and views.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

It is very expensive. Even if you only use the basic SEO tooling, the costs are already quite high. And if you want to expand it with additional packages, that can add a significant extra amount per month.

On top of that, the costs for extra users are also substantial. For example, if you are part of an SEO team with more than five people, each additional user can cost around $100 extra per month. At that point, the pricing can become difficult to justify.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a comprehensive SEO tool with data that you cannot easily get anywhere else. Without Semrush, we would not have the insights needed to do our work as effectively as possible.

 ### 6. Semrush: All-in-One Competitive Intelligence That Saves Us Hours Each Week

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most about Semrush is that it serves as an all-in-one powerhouse for competitive intelligence. The Keyword Magic Tool and Domain Overview features give us incredibly deep, accurate insights into our competitors' traffic sources, backlink profiles, and keyword strategies. Instead of jumping between three different SEO utilities, having rank tracking, site auditing, and keyword research under a single, cohesive dashboard saves our team hours of manual reporting every week.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The platform has expanded so much over the years that the user interface can feel incredibly cluttered and overwhelming, particularly for newer team members. There are often multiple ways to navigate to similar datasets, which makes the learning curve quite steep. The mobile app is also highly limited compared to the desktop version, making it difficult to check quick data points or reports while on the go.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems Solved: Before adopting Semrush, our content and SEO strategy relied heavily on guesswork. We struggled to identify which keywords were actually worth targeting, often wasting time creating content that didn't rank or bring in meaningful traffic.

Benefits: Semrush completely solved this by providing clear search volume, keyword difficulty, and intent metrics. Now, we can validate every topic before writing a single word. This shift from guessing to data-backed planning has resulted in a measurable increase in organic traffic and a much higher ROI on our content marketing efforts.

 ### 7. Semrush Makes Competitor and Organic Search Insights Easy to Share

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush give us a strong view of our organic search and competitor activity. As an ecom business with a large product catalogue and hundreds of brands, having the vsibility with traffic trends, backlinks, and keyword gaps is extremely valuable. The platfrom makes complex SEO data much easier to digest for non-specialists, which is helpful for cross-functional teams and leadership reporting.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

There is definitely a learning curve for teams like ours where there isn't a dedicated in-house SEO specialist. We do find the reporting can also vary slighly to platfroms like GA4 and Search Console, so it's important to use Semrush more as a broader analytics tool rather than the single source of truth.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned, we don't have an in-house SEO specialist so Semrush has helped us fill some of those gaps. We have a better understanding of where our organic traffic opportunitues are and where competitors are outperforming us. It's also given us more visibility on trends and opportunities.

 ### 8. Semrush: A Polished, All-in-One SEO Platform That Makes Marketing More Data-Driven

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Overall, Semrush has been a very valuable tool for SEO, competitor research, and improving our digital marketing workflow. The UI is clean and fairly easy to navigate once you understand where the main tools are, and I like that keyword research, site audits, backlink analysis, competitive insights, and reporting are all available in one place. That saves time compared to jumping between multiple platforms.

The integrations are also helpful, especially when connecting data from tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and reporting platforms. Performance has been reliable overall, and the reports load with a strong amount of detail, which makes it easier to identify keyword opportunities, technical SEO issues, and competitor gaps.

From a pricing and ROI standpoint, Semrush can feel like an investment, but the value is there if you use it consistently. It helps uncover opportunities that can improve organic traffic, content planning, and paid search strategy, which can make the cost worthwhile. The support and onboarding resources are helpful as well, with tutorials, knowledge base articles, and guidance that make it easier to learn the platform.

I also appreciate the AI and intelligence features because they help turn large amounts of SEO data into more actionable insights. Instead of just looking at raw numbers, Semrush helps prioritize what to focus on, whether that is keyword opportunities, content improvements, technical fixes, or competitor trends. Overall, it has made our marketing decisions more data-driven and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

As of far, there is nothing that I dislike about Semrush, it is a very polished product.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps solve the problem of not knowing where to focus our SEO and digital marketing efforts. It gives us visibility into keyword opportunities, competitor performance, backlink data, and technical website issues. This benefits us by saving time, reducing guesswork, and helping us make more informed decisions about content, SEO, and paid search strategy. Overall, it helps us prioritize the actions that are most likely to improve visibility, traffic, and performance.

 ### 9. Powerful SEO Insights to Get Your Business Found

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karley P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that Semrush is really easy to use, especially since SEO can be pretty overwhelming. It offers keyword suggestions that I wouldn't have thought of on my own, which is especially helpful when researching similar industries. I also like that the data is comprehensive, giving me a full picture of who is searching for keywords and their intentions. Semrush consistently presents key phrases that I might not come up with, exposing many more opportunities for SEO exploration.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The platform is very powerful, and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. I know I may not be using it to its fullest potential. I think there's a bit of a learning curve with it, especially if you're getting into the more advanced features.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me identify which keywords are actually ranking and worth creating content around, and offers comprehensive data that shows me who is searching for these keywords and their intention.

 ### 10. Strong AEO insights that help optimize content for answer-driven search

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush’s AEO capabilities make it much easier to understand how content performs in answer-driven search experiences. The platform offers clear insights into keyword intent, SERP features, and how content can be optimized to better align with how users ask questions in search engines and receive AI-powered results.

I especially appreciate how intuitive the interface is and how quickly I can identify opportunities to improve content structure and relevance for AEO. It’s easy to implement into existing SEO workflows and doesn’t require a steep learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I’d like to see more granular performance analytics specifically tied to AEO outcomes, such as clearer visibility into how optimizations impact visibility in AI answers or featured results over time. Our company is in a niche industry, and all the prompt suggestions aren't tied directly to our organization.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps bridge the gap between traditional SEO and Answer Engine Optimization by providing actionable insights into how content can be optimized for question-based and AI-driven search results. This allows me to create more targeted, relevant content that better matches user intent and improves discoverability in evolving search experiences.

 ### 11. Detailed Keyword Insights and Easy-to-Follow Site Audits

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that it provides really detailed info about keywords, far beyond volume. It makes it easier to create my strategy. Also, in the site audit feature, it provides detailed info about how to fix any issues that a not-so-technical person can understand.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The topic research section is not the most useful. It will say all the trending terms have a certain search volume, but that differs from the volume that the keyword magic tool says.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I manage website content strategy for a large site, and Semrush helps me understand how to drive more organic traffic to our pages. It’s been especially useful for seeing where we can improve and what changes are likely to make the biggest difference. I can’t speak to integrations or pricing since I don’t handle that side of things. When I’ve had questions, the knowledge base has been helpful, and our support requests usually get answered quickly. The new AI dashboard has also been really useful for understanding how we’re showing up in AI search and for giving clear direction on what to fix.

 ### 12. Consistency Issues Undermine Semrush's SEO Insights

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah K. | Digital Infrastructure Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I am currently using Semrush for several core parts of website and search visibility monitoring. The main areas I am using it for are backlink tracking, position tracking, and other site health monitoring. I also use Semrush to keep an eye on search visibility trends over time and to identify pages or keywords that may need attention. I appreciate that I am able to see what pages have been crawled. I am able to monitor backlinks.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

One of my biggest frustrations is that I have two Semrush projects for the same domain and the results are significantly different between them. Some top level metrics are a match, such as AI visibility, AI mentions, authority score, organic traffic, and organic keywords. But the project level tools show very different results. For example, one project shows 94% site health with errors and 486 warnings, while the other shows 74% site health with 137 errors, and 1,037 warnings. One has 590 pages crawled, and the other has 849. On the SEO checker it shows 23 ideas for 5 pages in one project, compared to 129 ideas for 27 pages on the other. The backlink audit toxicity score is also very different. These projects are updated on the same day. That is frustrating because I am using Semrush to monitor health, backlinks, position tracking, and visibility trends. When two projects for the same site show VERY different results I struggle to trust the data in either which makes Semrush decreasingly valuable for the cost. The initial setup was relatively easy in the sense that it was not hard to create a project, connect a domain, and start seeing data. Getting started is pretty straightforward. The harder part is understanding whether everything is configured correctly and consistently across tools.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush to monitor website health, search visibility, and technical SEO issues in one place, giving me a clearer picture of what's working and what needs attention before issues worsen.

 ### 13. Effortless Reporting and Outstanding Support with Semrush

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I appreciate how Semrush allows me to set up and send reports directly to my email, which saves me a lot of time. I never have to worry about remembering to pull a report since they are scheduled automatically. Managing multiple accounts can be challenging, but Semrush is always available to answer any questions I have. I use the platform every day, and it truly makes my work much easier.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I would prefer if more items were bundled together in a single package, rather than having to keep track of which add-ons I have and decipher my billing statements. It would also be much more convenient if new tools were automatically included with my subscription level, instead of requiring me to manually add them as separate a la carte options.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush frequently introduces new features and consistently appears to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to addressing the challenges that SEO and AEO face, particularly in tracking and the need for specific metrics.

 ### 14. Clean UI, Fair Pricing, and Actionable Site Health & Performance Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

For me I like being able to watch my page health and see what performance insights need to be fixed. I could compare my site health and the suggested fixes helped me know where to take direct action. There were many integrations such as the position tracking where I could watch day to day, week to week, and other time frame changes. The UI/UX interface was clean and easy to navigate and the pricing seems fair now that I know and am capable of making changes. I didn't get much support and I haven't tested the ai/intelligence system, but I'm sure it has some great benefits.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

As a smaller blogger it would be really helpful to get more support / onboarding assistance. I don't have the tools of major companies and sometimes I see these super helpful reports, but I don't actually know what to do with them or how to take the most advantage of it. That being said, by using other ai /intelligence tools, I now feel as if I'm making progress and am already starting to see day to day positive changes.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far I am able to make some of the page health changes that SEMRush is recommending. I believe this has already caused some increased rankings. I am also using the lost rankings to make adjustments and while it's only been a few days, I'm able to see a few small jumps.

 ### 15. Valuable Dashboards and Custom Reports for Clear SEO Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush has been a valuable tool for Transylvania University, making it easy to view our digital marketing performance at a glance. I especially appreciate the dashboard and reporting features, which allow us to quickly monitor SEO performance, spot opportunities, and share clear, actionable insights with campus stakeholders. The reports are straightforward to customize, save us time, and help support data-informed decisions across our enrollment marketing efforts.

Our primary use of Semrush is content optimization, and it has helped us better understand how prospective students and families are searching for colleges online. The platform provides useful keyword, content, and competitive insights that help us create more relevant content and improve our search visibility. It also integrates well with other tools we use, making it easier to connect data and evaluate performance from a broader perspective.

While Semrush represents a meaningful investment, the value comes from the time savings, reporting capabilities, and actionable recommendations it provides. The AI-powered insights are particularly helpful for identifying content opportunities and informing our strategy. Although the interface can occasionally feel a bit overwhelming due to the depth of features available, the training resources, tutorials, and support team have made it easy to learn and continue getting value from the platform. Overall, Semrush has become an important part of our content and SEO strategy, helping us make more informed decisions and maximize the impact of our digital marketing efforts.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While Semrush offers a powerful and comprehensive set of marketing tools, the user experience can feel a bit overwhelming at times. The platform includes so many features and capabilities that navigating between tools isn't always as intuitive as it could be, and there is definitely a learning curve for new users. Even after using it regularly, I occasionally find myself clicking through multiple sections to locate a specific report or feature.

That complexity extends to some of the AI and intelligence tools as well. While the recommendations and insights are helpful, it can sometimes be difficult to determine which suggestions are most relevant or actionable for our specific goals. Similarly, the platform's extensive integrations and data sources are valuable, but they can add to the feeling that there's a lot happening within the interface at once.

From a pricing perspective, Semrush represents a significant investment, particularly for smaller teams or institutions. Because of that, it's important to fully utilize the platform to realize its value. The good news is that Semrush provides strong onboarding resources, training materials, webinars, and support that help users get up to speed and make the most of the platform.

Ultimately, my biggest challenge with Semrush isn't the quality of the data or the performance of the platform—both are excellent. It's simply that the depth of functionality can occasionally make the experience feel more complex than necessary. Even so, the insights, reporting capabilities, content optimization tools, and overall impact on our digital marketing strategy continue to outweigh those frustrations and make it a valuable resource for our team at Transylvania University.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps Transylvania University improve the performance and effectiveness of our website content by providing valuable insights into the topics, keywords, and search trends that matter most to prospective students and their families. As student search behavior continues to evolve, the platform helps us better understand how people are researching colleges and what information they're looking for at different stages of the enrollment journey.

We use Semrush primarily to optimize content, identify opportunities to strengthen existing pages, and uncover gaps where new content could better serve prospective students. The platform's keyword research, competitive analysis, and content recommendations help ensure our website is aligned with real search behavior rather than assumptions. This allows us to create content that is more relevant, more discoverable, and more useful to the audiences we want to reach.

Beyond individual page optimization, Semrush helps inform our broader content strategy by showing us where we're performing well, where we have opportunities to improve, and how we compare to peer institutions. These insights help us make smarter decisions about where to focus our efforts and resources. Ultimately, the platform helps us attract more qualified organic traffic, improve engagement with prospective students, and strengthen our ability to support enrollment goals through a data-informed approach to content marketing.

 ### 16. Great visibility of keywords and prompts, with useful Local SEO and AI tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really like the way it helps to have visibility on how the behavior of keywords and prompts is within the platform. Additionally, it has been implementing new tools focused on Local SEO and AI topics that are quite useful for improving SEO-GEO strategies. Also, I feel that now with the backing of Adobe, it can improve much more; I just hope that the platform's costs do not increase.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Customer service has an area of opportunity because sometimes when one approaches them to resolve questions or concerns about the platform, there is no possibility of interaction. The issue of integration to automate data has not been so simple. Additionally, the costs of certain tools, especially those related to Local SEO, are very expensive compared to other tools. Currently, with the change of image, it has been a bit complex to understand the new structure. And the cost of keyword packages should be more extensive for a lower cost.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of the tool helps me mainly to have a quick overview of the situation we are in regarding keyword positioning in search engines and how relevant we are in AIs. It is also an excellent tool that helps us identify the details of Technical SEO.

 ### 17. Effortless SEO Audits, Unmatched Precision

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas R. | Senior Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like how the audit panel in Semrush allows us to see exactly what's happening on our website. It helps us identify issues like broken links that might affect the entire site and appear as errors in Semrush. This way, our team can easily fix these problems before they become bigger issues or affect our search engine ranking. I also appreciate that Semrush runs audits automatically, which is our main use for it. It's really straightforward to set up—just add the website URL and sometimes confirm ownership, but it's pretty easy for the entire team to use. They offer a lot of options for this setup, making it simple and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Nothing to be honest. The UI could be improved a bit, for example, if you click on a website then go to Audit, it will bring you back to a full list of sites instead of opening that specific website's audit.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush to understand SEO issues and improve specific pages. The audit panel helps identify errors, like broken links, so we can fix them before they harm our ranking.

 ### 18. Semrush Feels Stagnant and Overpriced, with Less Reliable Reports

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that it's an industry staple, and people are aware of it, and some of the metrics it provides. The UI hasn't changed much in the years. Integrations are mostly locked behind paywalls. Legacy performance is good, but can be shaky with AI search results. Pricing is done by the minute. Literally. I have not worked with their support team outside of billing.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Semrush is the only tool out there, which kind of monopolizes things. There haven't been notable improvements in years, and reports have gotten significantly less reliable. With AI, it is becoming less helpful and more of a burden for the price it costs. It seems that Semrush is becoming more of.a relic, and just throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks when it comes to their AI features they've added. They have become behind the times.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is meant to help with keyword performance and keyword research, as well as identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement in SEO. Backlinks and referring domains are a nice feature as well.

 ### 19. Valuable for Content Strategy, But Pricey

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Uwem U. | Marketing Manager, Enterprise Acquisition & Expansion, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I find Semrush to be an invaluable tool for our content marketing. It allows me to view quantitative data on how well we are found online by our ICPs. Google Search has been our biggest channel for organic visibility, and Semrush played a pivotal role by introducing us to LLM visibility. This has been very valuable in showing us what levers to pull to increase our online visibility. The gap analysis feature is particularly interesting and has been instrumental in informing our current strategy for the next six months. It helps us identify missing elements and potential blind spots in our content strategy, making sure we can get more visibility and compete better among our competitors.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I understand that Semrush is a huge product with many different modules. But not having access to all of them feels like having a juicy steak dangled in front of you. You want to use the new features and capabilities, but they're gated behind an increased monthly subscription.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me improve our organic visibility and provides quantitative data to see how easy we are to find online. It offers insights into LLM visibility, showing what levers to pull for increased visibility and content creation. The gap analysis helps identify blind spots in our strategy.

 ### 20. Comprehensive Features, But Overwhelming for Beginners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use Semrush for keyword analysis to determine what content to create for local service-based businesses, which is really helpful. I also use it for my sales calls to give an idea of where they rank organically. The Semrush writing tool is valuable for checking content before it goes out as an article. I like how Semrush combines multiple features in one platform, which means I don't have to sign up for separate tools. The backlink opportunity feature is something I like because it lets me review my competitors, see what backlinks they have, and use that information to strategize where to put my client's company. It's great how it organizes the list and speeds up the process, making it really valuable for me. The ability to perform tasks like keyword research, content review, and analyzing backlinks all in one place is a huge plus. Also, it's one of the few tools I've used that allows me to reach out to potential backlinks right from the platform.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think the platform can be a little difficult if you don't have previous experience. I'd probably argue I don't know even 20% of the capability of Semrush just because there's so many different tabs. And there isn't really a learning hub to it. And I don't feel like watching a three-hour tutorial on YouTube. So I'm caught by surprise here and there with tools I haven't heard about. It's like, oh, that could have been handy a while back. I think that it's extremely expensive. So if you're gonna use Semrush, you need to have a dedicated budget towards SEO. It's not something that you just pay to have and then use here and there.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for keyword analysis, content review, and checking client rankings. It consolidates these features in one platform, saving me from signing up for multiple services. The backlink opportunities feature helps me strategize against competitors efficiently.

 ### 21. Semrush Streamlines Competitor Tracking Across Global Markets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Working at a multi-brand, international FMCG company, keeping a constant pulse on competitor movements across different regional markets is a massive undertaking. Semrush has completely streamlined this for us.

The standout feature for our team is the Domain Overview and Keyword Gap tool. Instead of manually guessing what search terms our competitors are winning on, we can stack our brand domains directly against rivals in specific target countries. The ability to filter down to the exact sub-folders and see regional search volume variations saves us hours of manual data pulling every single week.

Another game-changer for our workflow is the Position Tracking tool with scheduled PDF reports. We manage several distinct product categories, and Semrush allows us to set up isolated tracking campaigns for each brand. The automated weekly updates mean we can immediately spot if a competitor has launched a aggressive search campaign or if our organic visibility drops in a key market, allowing us to pivot our digital marketing strategy instantly rather than reacting weeks too late. It’s essentially turned raw search data into actionable market intelligence for our brand managers.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While the platform is indispensable, we would love to see more flexibility in multi-user collaboration. Because we manage a diverse portfolio of brands at our company, the current cost of adding team seats can make it difficult to get data into everyone’s hands at once.

A more accessible "read-only" seat or a smoother way to share live dashboards with internal stakeholders would be a huge win. This would help us move even faster, allowing our various brand managers to act on Semrush’s excellent insights without having to wait for manual report exports. Adding more depth to localized search data in smaller regional markets would also be the "icing on the cake" for our international strategy.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Semrush, managing a multi-brand portfolio across different European countries left us with a fragmented view of our digital market share. We spent hours jumping between disconnected regional tools just to track our visibility.

Semrush centralized everything into a single source of truth, solving three of our biggest workflow hurdles:

Fragmented Competitor Tracking: We struggled to see where rivals were outranking us across different territories, but now we can instantly stack our brands against competitors using the Keyword Gap tool. This has resulted in a roughly 40% time savings on monthly market analysis.

Reactive SEO Management: We struggled to catch sudden drops in our organic rankings, but now we use automated Position Tracking alerts. This has resulted in the ability to protect our search real estate in real time, responding to competitor moves in days rather than weeks.

Localized Content Strategy: We struggled to map out consumer search intent across diverse regional markets, but now we can instantly pull localized search volumes and trends. This has resulted in a much faster, data-backed go-to-market execution for our international brand campaigns.

 ### 22. Semrush Puts All My SEO Research, Audits, and Competitor Insights in One Place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I've been using Semrush for a while and what I like most is having everything in one place. It makes keyword research, SEO audits, competitor analysis and rank tracking much easier without having to jump between different tools. The competitor insights are especially useful, and the reports are easy to understand and share with clients or team members. Overall, it saves me a lot of time and helps me make better marketing decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

One downside is that the platform isn't always as intuitive as it could be, especially for new users. Some features can take time to learn, and the dashboard feels a bit dated compared to newer marketing tools. While it offers a huge amount of data, navigating between reports and finding specific insights can sometimes be overwhelming.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me improve SEO performance by identifying the right keywords, tracking rankings, and finding opportunities to increase organic traffic. It also helps with competitor analysis, allowing me to see what strategies other brands are using across search and social media. The platform makes it easier to monitor website health, optimise content, and measure campaign performance. Having all this information in one place saves time and helps me make more informed marketing decisions.

 ### 23. Lots of SEMrush Tools, But the Experience Falls Short

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

there's lots of apps and softwares and uses of semrush, including seo, ads, social media.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Data accuracy isn’t perfect: Like most SEO tools, keyword volumes, backlink data, and traffic estimates are model-based, so they can sometimes be noticeably off compared to real analytics. Limited data in smaller niches: For low-traffic websites or niche markets, keyword and competitor data can be thin or less reliable like it's hard to find ideal influencers for social media. Ui is also not the best and it feels too packed

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush helps me by making SEO and online marketing easier to manage. It shows me the best keywords to target, helps me understand what my competitors are doing, and points out issues on my website that I need to fix. It also tracks my rankings and backlinks so I can see what’s working and what isn’t. Overall, it saves me time and helps me make smarter decisions without guessing.

 ### 24. Insightful SEO Dashboard, Needs Better Integrations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use Semrush to measure SEO performance and get overall site scores, which helps in troubleshooting critical errors. I like the in-depth dashboard that shows my site's health and helps me focus on where to spend my team's time. I appreciate all the information I can pull from Semrush and how it allows me to compare my data with competitors. This comparison lets me see where my benchmarks should be and where my brand stands against others in my space. Also, the initial setup of Semrush was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think it could improve integrations. In a world where everything is connected, it would be nice if I could use Semrush data into different platforms and use the rich data in a seamless way.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush to measure SEO performance and troubleshoot errors with its in-depth dashboard. It helps focus my team's efforts. I like the rich data and how it allows comparison with competitors, showing where my brand stands against others.

 ### 25. Good Keyword Analysis and Domain Comparisons but Watch Out for Shady Pricing Practices

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Great keyword analysis and domain overview for understanding SEO growth. The ability to compare to other domains and understand which keywords we should target helps inform our content strategy

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The pricing seems very shady. The system is always trying to get you to pay for extra features and puts paywalls on everything to make it overcomplicated. It definitely feels purposefully complicated to take advantage of people. There are tons of buttons that will be clicked that lead someone to upgrading their service, only to find out they are going to be charged more after reading the fine print. I've almost been tricked into upgrading multiple times, very sketchy of SEMrush to do this...

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's making us more targeted with our keyword strategy which is leading to better organic traffic results. It's also helping us analyze our websites easier with great visuals in the dashboard so we can easily share results.

 ### 26. Semrush Streamlines Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like Semrush because it gives me a fast, centralized way to handle the day-to-day SEO work an agency lives in; keyword research, competitor gap analysis, rank tracking, and site audit checks — without jumping between a bunch of separate tools. It’s especially useful when I need to pull together client-facing insights quickly and turn messy search data into clear next steps for strategy and reporting.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I still have to validate Semrush findings against Google Search Console, analytics, and sometimes a manual SERP review before I use them in a client recommendation. I also find that some reports are great for a first-pass audit, but they still require interpretation and context to separate real opportunity.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves too many disconnected SEO tasks by giving a consultant one place to do keyword research, competitor benchmarking, site audits, and rank tracking. For me, that means faster client diagnostics, clearer prioritization, and better reporting because I can turn scattered search data into specific recommendations instead of spending hours stitching it together.

 ### 27. Valuable Keyword Research For Agency Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brooke S. | Content Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really like the Keyword Magic Tool in Semrush. It's great for helping me start with keyword ideas, search volume, and intent. This tool allows me to build out strong topics for our blogs. I also appreciate understanding where we are showing up on SERPs, including FAQs and all that stuff. The initial setup of Semrush is pretty easy. You don't have to set up a lot of things; you just need your domain, and that's about it, so I'd say it's easy to get started.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think there's so much in there that it's almost overwhelming. Like, I'm sure that there's a million ways I could use it that I'm not using it now. And just, like, getting all of that information, but it does take, like, some extra work to translate that into a clear content decision. So just, like, manually trying to decide what pages we should create, which ones need refreshes. So it's pretty manual right now.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for researching and validating primary and secondary keywords for service pages, and building strong blog topics.

 ### 28. SEMrush for Smart SEO Decisions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like SEMrush because it gives me a broad, reliable view of keyword, competitive, and technical SEO data in one place. It’s especially helpful for quickly spotting opportunities, tracking visibility trends, and comparing our performance against competitors without having to jump between a bunch of different tools. For day-to-day SEO work, it’s a strong all-in-one platform that saves time and supports smarter decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

What I dislike is that it can feel a bit heavy and noisy at times, especially when you just want a clean answer quickly. Some reports also need a fair amount of filtering or cross-checking before they feel fully trustworthy for decision-making. And while it’s strong overall, a few features can feel more broad than deeply specialized, so I sometimes still need other tools for validation or deeper analysis.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves the problem of having to piece together SEO, competitive research, rank tracking, and technical checks from multiple places. It gives me one place to see what’s happening, what’s changing, and where the biggest opportunities are, which saves time and helps me make faster decisions. For me, the main benefit is that it turns a lot of messy search data into something actionable. That helps me prioritize fixes, spot keyword gaps, benchmark competitors, and support both strategy and reporting without spending as much time stitching tools together.

 ### 29. Powerful, Intuitive SEO Suite—But Pricing and Add-Ons Can Add Up

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMrush stands out because it combines a powerful feature set with an intuitive user experience, making advanced SEO and digital marketing data accessible without an overwhelming learning curve.

From a UI/UX perspective, the platform is well-organized and easy to navigate. The dashboards provide quick access to key metrics, and reports are presented in a way that allows both marketers and clients to understand performance without needing deep technical expertise.

Its integration capabilities are another major strength. SEMrush connects with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, and various social media platforms, allowing users to consolidate data and gain a more complete view of marketing performance.

Performance and data depth are areas where SEMrush consistently excels. The platform delivers robust keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink monitoring, site auditing, and content optimization tools, all within a single ecosystem. The breadth of available data makes it valuable for both strategic planning and day-to-day execution.

From a pricing and ROI standpoint, SEMrush offers significant value because it replaces multiple standalone tools. For agencies and marketing teams, the ability to manage SEO, content, paid search, competitive research, and reporting from one platform often justifies the investment through time savings and improved decision-making.

The onboarding experience and customer support resources are also strong. SEMrush provides extensive training materials, certifications, webinars, and knowledge base articles, helping users quickly become proficient and maximize the platform's capabilities.

Finally, SEMrush continues to strengthen its AI and intelligence features. Tools such as AI-powered content recommendations, keyword insights, and competitive intelligence help users identify opportunities faster and make more informed marketing decisions. Rather than simply presenting data, SEMrush increasingly helps marketers understand what actions to take next.

Overall, SEMrush delivers a strong balance of usability, functionality, data quality, and innovation, making it one of the most comprehensive digital marketing platforms available.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The price is very expensive, and needs a lot of add-ons. You have limited reports, and costs can get high, especially for a small business

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush solves one of the biggest challenges in digital marketing: turning large amounts of marketing data into actionable insights. Instead of relying on multiple disconnected tools, SEMrush centralizes SEO, content marketing, paid advertising, competitive research, and website performance data into a single platform.

For me, this has significantly improved efficiency and decision-making. SEMrush helps identify keyword opportunities, uncover technical SEO issues, monitor rankings, analyze competitors, and measure content performance without having to jump between different systems. This saves time and allows me to focus more on strategy and execution rather than data collection.

One of the biggest benefits is competitive intelligence. SEMrush provides visibility into what competitors are ranking for, where they are gaining traffic, and what content strategies are working in the market. This helps me make more informed recommendations for clients and uncover opportunities that may have otherwise been missed.

The platform also helps solve reporting and communication challenges. By providing clear, visual data and customizable reports, I can easily demonstrate progress, explain recommendations, and show the impact of marketing efforts to clients and stakeholders.

Additionally, SEMrush's site auditing and optimization tools help proactively identify issues that could affect website performance, search visibility, or user experience. This allows problems to be addressed before they become larger business concerns.

Overall, SEMrush helps transform complex marketing data into actionable strategies, allowing me to work more efficiently, deliver better results, and make more confident decisions for both my business and my clients.

 ### 30. Tailored AI Content Suggestions That Keep Us Informed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like the tailored content/revision suggestions. I think it is an easy platform to pick up, but having more tutorials could be a huge help. I was not here when we purchased, but considering the team has kept it this long, I amsure it is worth the investment. The AI discoverability features are cool and have helped us a lot. Same with the automatic emails to keep us informed.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think the content suggestions are a little generic, and I run into a wall where I am asked to pay more for features that would be simple to implement. I don't have any gripes with the integrations, but a turnkey solution to send the auto emails we get to a slack channel would be amazing. Performance has been fine, sometimes it is a little slow when running an audit.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team connection and group understanding. Semrush ensures that sales and marketing are all on the same page. It also highlights what content we need to retire or revamp.

 ### 31. UX-Friendly Navigation and Powerful Keyword Tools for Competitive Analysis

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chiara O. | Jr. Growth Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like the most about SEMrush is the navigation bar on the left side with all the available tools, it is very UX friendly. My two most favorite tools are the keyword gap and keyword magic tool. I also use frequently the keyword overview for performance analysis and compare domains, it's very useful when doing a competitive analysis. The pricing seems fair for all the support materials and integrations.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I would like a more visible way to export the data and more information about the AI search part. Same for the social tools, I am not familiar with them and not sure if they could help my daily work. The data sometimes takes a bit long to charge.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps identify new editorial opportunities and see how the business is doing across competitors. It has also helped with several location analysis with accurate location data. So I would say the cost-benefit is fair.

 ### 32. Ideal for Visibility and User-Friendly, Needs Customization for Small Businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lou B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I find Semrush relatively easy to use, and it has the functionality that we need for our small business. I appreciate how it provides a bit of visibility in cutting through the noise of Google. The features I value the most include position tracking, keyword searching, and understanding the cost of keywords. We use it heavily for linking and trying to reduce toxic domains associated with our website. The initial setup was easy with no problems, and overall, we really like it.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Sometimes I think that it needs to be, like, an in-between version. So a slightly smaller version for businesses like ours that don't need their full services, or an ability to kinda pick what modules that you need to suit your business. So kinda like an a la carte menu for the functionality that you actually need. Because I feel like it can be a little bit overdone for smaller businesses.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush gives us visibility in cutting through the noise on Google, making it really useful for our small business. It's easy to use and offers essential functionality like position tracking, keyword searching, cost analysis, and reducing toxic domains.

 ### 33. Semrush + Claude MCP: Intuitive Research for Performance Marketing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush has become one of the tools I actually enjoy using day-to-day. The interface is intuitive and keyword research, competitive analysis, site audits, and traffic analytics are all where you'd expect them to be, with enough depth that I'm not constantly hitting a ceiling.

The thing that's genuinely changed how I work is the Semrush MCP integration with Claude. Being able to pull keyword data, competitor insights, and SERP analysis directly inside my AI workflow removes a lot of friction from research and makes the loop between "question I have" and "data-backed answer" much tighter.

Beyond that, the keyword difficulty and intent signals are reliable enough to inform strategy, not just report on it. The competitive landscape views like traffic share, keyword gaps, and backlink profiles are genuinely useful for building a point of view, not just collecting numbers.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The pricing is a little steep, especially once you need multiple seats or want access to the more advanced features.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit is speed to insight. When I'm building a campaign strategy or trying to understand why a competitor is gaining ground, I can get a complete picture quickly instead of stitching together exports from different sources. The MCP integration with Claude takes that further by letting me pull Semrush data directly into my AI workflows, so research feeds into analysis without any manual handoff.

 ### 34. Top-Tier SEO Insights That Drive Action

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The amount of data and insights that lead to actions we need to take is top-tier. For that alone, I would recommend SEMrush to any colleagues in the SEO/SEM/AI Visibility space.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Don't get me wrong. We love SEMrush. However, the pricing model is a bit odd and confusing. We've had SEMrush for a long time (over a decade). So, we have a legacy plan that has weird feature restrictions and limits. I feel like as a legacy client we're getting less value every year whereas other products honour their legacy clients by offering them more value in appreciation for their long-term subscription and loyalty. I completely appreciate that AI features require usage limits as tokens are being used behind the scenes with whatever AI model SEMrush employs. So, I would like to see more clear pricing for add-ons or modules and then allow us to compare...if we add that on, it'll be more expensive that the next tier plan...so might as well upgrade our overall plan.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us insights into what our clients need to do to earn and maintain rankings on Google (ie. organic traffic). That's the core value. We are also now getting additional value from the AI features which give us insights into what our clients need to do to to get referenced by LLMs. All fantastic value and is why we continue to use the products.

 ### 35. Superior SEO Tool with Robust Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juli L. | Director of Digital Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most about Semrush is how organized the data is and how easy it is to find elements. I enjoy the use of the API, which helps me integrate AI workflows into my work. The inclusion of SERP features, and the tracking of those has been invaluable. I also appreciate the ability to just look up keyword opportunities for clients using the keyword overview section. The setup of Semrush is really easy when we bring on new individuals to our team, they get brought up to speed very quickly. I think the user interface is quite straightforward, and the updates that I've seen the platform go through over the last four years have continuously made its utility easier and richer for users.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think it would be great to have a connection to a live SERP feature. Oftentimes, when looking at position tracking, there can be quite a difference between where a client ranks on a given day versus a snapshot. Having an easier way to evaluate keyword ranking trends over time would be better than only being able to visualize rankings on a single particular day or over the course of a month.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for search research and position tracking, monitoring keyword rankings, and doing organic research for clients and competitors. This helps me track the progress of client accounts, report monthly, and improve client portfolios.

 ### 36. SEMrush: Our Go-To for Keyword Research and Competitive SEO Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMrush has become our go-to for keyword and SEO research. The Keyword Magic Tool makes it easy to build out topic clusters and find realistic, rankable terms, and the rank tracking keeps us honest on whether our efforts are actually moving the needle. The competitive analysis side is where it really earns its keep for us. Domain Overview and the traffic/keyword gap reports let us see exactly what competitors are ranking for and bidding on, so we can prioritize where to compete instead of guessing. Having keyword, SEO, and competitor intelligence in one platform saves a lot of tool-switching for the team.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest drawback is the cost. The pricing adds up quickly -especially once you need additional seats for the team or tack on add-ons, and some of the limits (projects, exports, users) push you toward a higher tier faster than you'd like. For a smaller team it's a real budget consideration, and you have to be confident you'll use enough of the platform to justify the spend.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush gives us a single source of truth for SEO and competitive intelligence. It helps us identify the keywords and content opportunities worth pursuing, track our search visibility over time, and benchmark ourselves against competitors so our marketing efforts are data-driven rather than gut-feel. The net benefit is sharper prioritization - we spend our time and budget on the opportunities most likely to drive traffic and pipeline.

 ### 37. SEMRush Delivers Strong Competitor Insights and a Straightforward UI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMRush offers some of the best competitor organic performance you can get without access to the competitors' actual data feeds. UI/UX is pretty straightforward and integrates within our larger marketing efforts quite well.

Performance-wise, it's fairly solid, though there are some hiccups here and there.

Pricing is probably the biggest ding. Unless you are actively trying to get the MOST out of your subscription, you're probably overpaying, which is a tough pill to swallow.

Their AI performance-measuring tool leaves some things to be desired. The efficacy/things they measure are not always the most up-to-date.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Their data is largely ballpark estimates. Now, to be clear, this is about as good as you can get with the information available, but I wish there were a way to drill it down into something more dependable.

Additionally, I think too many of the useful tools are locked behind further price increases. Small businesses are close to being priced out simply because the value they get from some of the base packages isn't quite enough.

Lastly, their AI health and visibility scores will send errors or things to correct, but won't update after "fixing". Fixing is an operative word since the things they measure are very ephemeral.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need broad organic data to inform some of our decisions, and SEMrush is our go-to. The accuracy of the data is tough to measure, but they're still one of the best in the business.

 ### 38. Semrush Competitor Insights That Help Small Businesses Grow

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I enjoy the competitor overview options Semrush provides. As a small company, it gives me insights on what bigger competitors are doing in the same space, and helps me determine what tactics I want to emulate and where I want to stand out in order to grow my business.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While I find a lot of value in Semrush SEO, as the site has grown to include more and more services like ai, content, etc, it's started to feel a little convoluted and disjointed. Some options that I click on under, let's say, the AI branch, ends up pointing me back to SEO, or vice versa. And there is SO much to click on/look at/ etc with all of the branching off. I feel like I get easily lost or distracted in the software.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me understand what is driving traffic to similar businesses and gives me a peak into their strategy (do they look like they are focussed on partnerships/backlinks, are they churning out article content for organic search, are they focused on paid reach, etc.). As a small business that has a small budget, this helps me understand where potentially the best bang for my buck could be with marketing focus.

 ### 39. Robust SEO Tool with High Usability Despite Pricey Add-Ons

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cillian M. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I appreciate Semrush for its ease of use, which makes it quick to assess our organic performance. The reporting and filters save me time, letting me focus on other responsibilities without needing to log into multiple platforms like GA4 and Search Console. The AI snapshots and overviews are also handy in providing fast insights. The initial setup was extremely easy, which is part of the reason I like it so much. I've used Semrush for many years, and I find it the best for my needs, even after trying other tools like Ahrefs.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Add ons and pricing. Everything is extra. The AI feature is particularly expensive for something so new but understand everyone wants it. Even measuring social metrics is now a paid add-on. Make some of the add ons cheaper or extra users. Be more transparent about pricing when advertising new add-ons. Doesn’t seem to be anything for loyal customers of many years.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Semrush gives me a complete overview of keyword rankings, helps identify new keywords, and provides competitive analysis. It speeds up reporting immensely, so I avoid using multiple platforms like GA4 and Search Console.

 ### 40. Powerful SEO Tool with Top-Notch Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use Semrush for ecommerce marketing, specifically SEO. I like the ease of use. Everything is very easy to find and use, and if I am ever confused, there is a great live chat support. The ability to generate reports for clients helps a ton with making monthly reports easy to make and look professional. The setup was very easy, and I have no complaints about it.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Some metrics don't sync as expected. I've been having issues with numbers on reports showing up either incorrect or not at all. Most of the time these get fixed eventually, but the fixes do take quite a bit of time. If there's any way these types of metric discrepancy issues can get fixed faster, it would help a ton.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me find the best keywords for our content and ads. It's easy to use, with great live chat support, and makes generating professional client reports simple.

 ### 41. Comprehensive Tool, easy to use and to explain, wish it was a bit less expensive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really like that Semrush is an all-in-one package. When I'm looking for anything—from content to tech to link building—I can use it from start to finish. It's really useful that I can even get the email addresses for the content I need for PR. The platform runs everything smoothly down to the details, which is great for doing AI research. It's also fantastic for diagnosing our website thoroughly and quickly interpreting what our competitors are doing. The ease of setup is a big plus; it was really easy to get started by just providing a website to check and plugging in a few keywords.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think for what it is, it's quite expensive. I know it is an all in one package, but, for the parts that I need, you know, I spend probably about a $100 a month just myself, and that covers really, really bare basics and then limited use. I'd like to see it do more for less.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for website diagnostics and competitor insights. It offers quick notifications on link profile changes and tracks keyword errors to keep me informed about industry shifts.

 ### 42. Boosts SEO Visibility, Needs AI Enhancement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like the ability to prepare reports and use them without the Semrush branding. I use it as a white label, so it shows my company logos. This helps me gain credibility in front of my clients. The domain overview feature is also great. It really helps me show a general overview of a domain, compare competitors, and track client's progress over time. The initial setup was very easy since I used the online version, and there was no need for integration.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

More recently, the AI tools are still in the works, so they're not 100% accurate when my clients are looking at them. I guess it's a process and is improving, but that's the only thing that's not working properly.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush to provide visibility on how prospects compare to their competitors and utilize the domain overview to track progress. It helps with SEO, the recommendations for errors fixing on a website, and I appreciate the white-label reports, enhancing my professionalism and credibility with clients.

 ### 43. Comprehensive SEO Insights, Paywall Frustrations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claire W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use Semrush primarily for SEO/GEO research and digital marketing analysis. It helps me identify valuable keywords, track search rankings, analyze competitors, and find opportunities to improve my site and content. I like that it brings all the essential SEO/GEO marketing data into one platform. Semrush is forward-thinking in AEO/GEO, and I feel like they will continue to evolve their data with the changing ecosystem of ecommerce. As AI-powered search experiences become more important, Semrush provides tools that help me understand how content may perform beyond traditional search results, helping me create content optimized for search engines and also structured to improve visibility in AI engines. Additionally, the initial setup of Semrush was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

It is irritating always running into paywalls. It would be nice to centralize topics more holistically rather than having to frequent several areas of the dashboard to gain insights on one topic.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for SEO/GEO research, helping prioritize content and identify valuable keywords. It brings essential data into one platform and adapts to AI search evolution, but running into paywalls and navigating multiple dashboard areas can be annoying.

 ### 44. Intuitive and helpful, but Pricing and Upsells too aggressive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The interface is simple, intuitive, and easy to use.
Very quick to get to the metrics and information I am after.
Product is way too pricey.
Support was helpful, though not immediately - had to do some nudging to get answers.
AI feature is OK, but way too pricey.
Integration with GSC, GA and other 3rd parties is easy to set up, though some of the API charges are too pricey.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Too pricey, too aggressive with up-sales.
AI features should be included in the basic price. At least some of the basic AI metrics shouldn't be as limited.
Now workaround for the September 2025 GSC update that removed the ability to view 100 search results on a single page by eliminating the &num=100 parameter, which makes it harder to track performance.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to track rankings, visibility.
Performs well, very few times where results are not return, or system errors, though they do show up from time to time.

 ### 45. Effortlessly Handles SEO for B2B Health Tech

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra B. | Marketing Communications Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I think the interface is really easy to use. I can have multiple clients in it and keep their data and keywords super separate. Overall, it's just easy and straightforward to use unlike some other SEO focused tools on tech. I've also been using it on and off for years, and it's pretty intuitive. I look at it for traditional keyword and topic research to help inform what other topics we should be writing about and how to structure web pages, especially if we're doing a brand new website. I have started to include the AI visibility tool to have a benchmark of what we need to improve and what queries are coming up, finding the related ones. It's great to benchmark against competitors, which helps me synthesize information and have data points to back up recommendations and next steps. It gives me a data-backed foundation to justify recommendations and track progress and success over time.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think some of the AI features could be a bit better. Sometimes I find that they're really off in terms of kind of the topics and competitors it suggests. So that it's probably an area that I would like to see Semrush get better at.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush to justify recommendations with a data-backed foundation and track progress over time, giving me confidence in my next steps.

 ### 46. Semrush Makes Keyword & Competitor Research Fast and Actionable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan I. | Full Stack SEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The keyword research tools are where Semrush really shines for me. The Keyword Magic Tool lets me explore thousands of variations with search volume, difficulty, and intent data all in one place. But what I use most alongside that is the Keyword Gap analysis, being able to put my domain next to competitors and instantly see which keywords they're ranking for that I'm missing is incredibly useful for finding quick content opportunities. It's turned competitor research from a manual, time-consuming task into something I can act on in minutes.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The navigation can feel overwhelming at times, with so many tools packed in, it's not always intuitive to find what you're looking for. I get that it comes with the territory for a platform this comprehensive, but there's definitely a learning curve to just knowing where everything lives. Not a dealbreaker at all, just something worth being aware of as a new user.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest time sinks in SEO used to be manually grouping keywords and figuring out search intent. Semrush has largely solved that for me. The AI-powered intent classification and automatic keyword clustering mean I can take a large set of keywords and quickly understand which ones belong together in a single piece of content and which ones need their own page. That directly improves how I structure content strategies and avoids cannibalization issues I used to run into. What used to take hours of spreadsheet work now happens in minutes.

 ### 47. Robust SEO Tool with Comprehensive Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like the new AI features and the project setup in Semrush; it's really easy to use and provides a quick overview of project health and any traffic dips from the overviews. I also appreciate that reporting now includes sources like HubSpot, enabling us to show our clients data across all of their platforms. The new AI insights are great because they show what is promoting well in AI, which helps us optimize a website. Additionally, setting up Semrush was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think that the local business section should have some offers for multiple businesses as it is very much based on optimizing a single location - this would work for agencies that handle multiple local businesses. Also if there were integrations with BrightLocal and other link building tools that you might already have. I would like reporting to have AI data available without having an AI plan, like referrals from ChatGPT, etc., from Google Analytics without paying for Semrush AI.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for keyword research, monitoring website health, and reporting. It helps my SEO team with position tracking, backlink auditing, and referral traffic insights, boosting our productivity and improving client reports.

 ### 48. All-in-One SEO Tool for Faster Research and Smarter Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is that it combines keyword research, rank tracking, site audits, and competitor analysis in one place, which removes the need to switch between multiple tools. Features like Keyword Magic and Position Tracking save me time in daily SEO work by quickly turning research into actionable insights.

The integrations with Google Analytics and Search Console improve my workflow by connecting rankings directly to real performance data, cutting out manual reporting. Even though the interface is dense at first, it becomes efficient once you’re used to it, and it noticeably speeds up reporting and analysis.

It’s expensive, but the ROI is strong because it replaces several tools. The AI features are helpful for refining content, but I mainly use them as support rather than relying on them fully.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

What I dislike about Semrush is mainly the pricing structure. It can get quite expensive, especially if you need access to multiple tools or higher usage limits, which makes it harder to justify for smaller projects or individuals.

Another drawback is that the AI features feel somewhat separated from the core SEO toolkit. Many of the AI-driven tools are either limited or require higher-tier plans or add-ons, so they don’t feel fully integrated into the main SEO workflow.

Overall, while the platform is powerful, the cost and the partial separation of AI features from the core SEO package are the main downsides for me.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves key SEO challenges for me, especially in keyword research, competitor analysis, and technical SEO. It makes keyword discovery and clustering much faster by letting me filter intent, volume, and difficulty in one place, instead of manually combining data from multiple sources. It also simplifies competitor research by clearly showing which domains and pages are driving traffic, helping me identify gaps and opportunities more efficiently.

For technical SEO, the Site Audit tool is particularly useful because it automatically flags issues like broken links, missing metadata, and performance problems, which helps me prioritize fixes without needing manual checks or separate crawling tools. Overall, it improves efficiency by centralizing research, analysis, and reporting in one workflow.

Support and onboarding are actually quite solid thanks to the available learning materials, courses, and webinars, which make it easier to understand the platform and improve usage over time, even if there is still a learning curve at the beginning.

 ### 49. Semrush: An All-in-One Digital Marketing Powerhouse With Strong ROI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is that it brings virtually every aspect of digital marketing into a single platform. SEO is a massive part of our business, and Semrush gives us a clear view of how we're performing against competitors, where we rank for our target keywords, and where new opportunities exist. The competitive intelligence and keyword research tools are incredibly valuable for making data-driven decisions rather than relying on guesswork.

Our business frequently involves launching websites for new companies or completely reimagining existing websites, and Semrush allows us to move through that process quickly and confidently. From keyword research and content planning to site audits and ongoing performance monitoring, it provides the insights needed to build a strong digital presence from day one.

The platform's UI/UX is intuitive and easy to navigate despite the depth of functionality available. We also appreciate the integrations with other marketing tools, which help streamline our workflows. Performance has been excellent, with reports and data loading quickly even when analyzing large amounts of information.

From a pricing perspective, Semrush delivers a strong return on investment because it consolidates capabilities that would otherwise require multiple separate tools and subscriptions. Their support and onboarding resources are also excellent, making it easy to get new team members up to speed.

The AI-powered features and intelligent recommendations continue to improve and help uncover opportunities that might otherwise be overlooked. Overall, Semrush has become an essential part of our marketing and growth strategy.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While Semrush is one of the most comprehensive marketing platforms available, the sheer number of features can create a learning curve for new users. It can feel overwhelming at first, especially for smaller teams that may only need a subset of the available tools. Some of the more advanced reports and features also require higher-tier plans, which can become expensive as your needs grow. That said, the depth of functionality is also one of Semrush's greatest strengths, and the value it provides generally outweighs the cost. Once you're familiar with the platform, it becomes much easier to take advantage of everything it offers.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves several critical challenges for our business by giving us a centralized platform to manage SEO, competitive research, content strategy, and website optimization. Before using Semrush, it was difficult to accurately measure how we were performing against competitors or identify which keywords and content opportunities would generate the greatest impact. Now we can track rankings, monitor competitors, analyze backlink profiles, and identify gaps in our strategy from a single dashboard.

One of the biggest benefits is helping us launch and grow websites more effectively. Whether we're building a brand-new website or redesigning an existing one, Semrush provides the keyword research, technical SEO audits, content recommendations, and competitive intelligence needed to make informed decisions quickly. This reduces guesswork and helps us build websites that are positioned to rank and generate traffic from the start.

Semrush also saves our team significant time by consolidating multiple marketing functions into one platform. Instead of juggling several different tools, we can access the data and insights we need in a single place. The result has been better search visibility, stronger content performance, improved decision-making, and a measurable return on our marketing investment.

 ### 50. Indispensable Tool for SEO Success

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sallar R. | SEO and Contentful Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I find Semrush valuable because it helps track the market, check competitors, and ensure we're growing at the same pace. As an SEO Specialist, I really rely on checking keywords and on-page insights. The weekly emails are also a nice feature for keeping updated. I personally focus on keyword gaps and competitor comparison to determine the best strategy to beat competitors and gain a better position with uncovered keywords. It feels like having insight into what's happening on competitors' websites, almost like accessing their Search Console, which is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I find the position tracking brings no value for me since I already track my website in Google Analytics and Google Search Console. The position tracking section is not helpful because I can check my position directly in Google Search Console, although it might be useful for tracking competitors, something I haven't had a chance to do. The initial setup was a bit challenging because our DevOps team had blocked any IP for the crawler, and I had to create a ticket in Jira and wait for them to fix that.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for tracking competitors and market trends. It helps me discover the best keywords and strategies, providing insights into competitor activities like having access to their Search Console.
