What do you like best about Plivo?

Plivo offers essentially the same service at half the price as their competitors (at the time of my switch). Good logs and transparency for SMS and customer support has been reachable for me when diagnosing reasons for some SMS messages not going through. Good SDK for implementation (I use Python but am just using the REST API for my implementation, it's been great). I don't recall any downtime for the features I use in the six years that I have been a customer of Plivo which is pretty fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plivo?

At first I didn't think the success rates were as good as my setup on a competitor, HOWEVER after some tweaks on my account with support (they even helped me choose a good area code to send my texts), and helping my SMS messages stay compliant, success rates have become close to 100%. Unreliable Service – Inconsistent performance, with delivery issues and unexpected disruptions in certain regions.

Unprofessional – Support has poor communication skills and low understanding of technicalities. Unable to proactively address critical issues.

Toll Fraud Mitigations – Limited expertise in identifying and mitigating toll fraud or bot-driven SMS abuse, putting businesses at risk.

Lacks Advanced Technological Solutions – Does not keep up with market trends and lacks innovative tools for monitoring, security, or message optimization.

Billing & Pricing Transparency Issues – Sudden price changes or errors, like failing to notify about rate increases, can lead to unexpected costs.

UI/Portal Limitations – The platform lacks advanced analytics and an intuitive interface, making monitoring and troubleshooting more difficult.
