"AI Meeting Transcription and Summarization"
What do you like best about Otter.ai?

Otter.ai stands out as a robust solution for real-time meeting transcription, automated note-taking, and AI-powered insights. The platform integrates seamlessly with major conferencing tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, providing consistent, accurate transcriptions without manual intervention. The OtterPilot feature automates the entire meeting workflow, from joining scheduled calls to capturing audio, generating summaries, and extracting action items.

✅ Key features that work reliably:

• Live Transcription & Captions: Otter.ai delivers high-accuracy, real-time transcription during meetings, interviews, lectures, and everyday conversations. Transcripts are available immediately and can be searched, edited, and shared within the platform.

• Automated Summaries & Action Items: After each meeting, Otter.ai generates concise summaries and highlights action items, making it easier to review key points and next steps without sifting through lengthy transcripts.

• AI Meeting Assistant: The assistant can automatically join meetings based on calendar integration, record audio, capture shared slides, and produce detailed notes and summaries.

• AI Chat & Channels: Otter.ai includes an AI chat feature for querying meeting content (“What’s the deadline?”), drafting emails, and collaborating asynchronously with teammates.

• Multi-Platform Support: Otter.ai is accessible via web, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and browser extensions, ensuring coverage across devices and workflows.

• Searchable & Shareable Notes: All notes are indexed for keyword search, and sharing options support team collaboration and external distribution.

• No-Bot Option in Google Meet: The Chrome extension allows transcription without adding a bot as a visible participant, which is useful for privacy or meeting etiquette.

• Slide Capture: Otter.ai can automatically capture and attach images of presentation slides shared during virtual meetings, enriching the meeting record. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Otter.ai?

• Pricing Structure: Some advanced features, such as extended transcription minutes, team management, or integration depth, are gated behind higher-tier subscriptions. For organizations with heavy usage, costs can escalate quickly.

• Occasional Accuracy Issues: In noisy environments or with speakers who have strong accents, the AI transcription can misinterpret words or miss context, requiring manual correction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Otter"
What do you like best about Otter.ai?

Otter.ai offers a lot of impressive features that stand out in the transcription and note-taking space. What I appreciate most is the accuracy of the transcriptions. It does an excellent job transcribing voice to text, even with complex vocabulary or various accents. The real-time transcription is particularly helpful for meetings and lectures, allowing me to focus on the discussion without worrying about taking notes. Another thing I like is the ability to highlight key sections and add comments, which makes reviewing and sharing notes much easier. The integration with platforms like Zoom also adds a lot of value, especially for remote work or virtual team meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Otter.ai?

While Otter.ai is generally reliable, there are a few areas where it could improve. One downside is that the free version has limited features, and the transcription time can be restricted, which may not be ideal for heavy users. Additionally, while it’s accurate most of the time, it sometimes struggles with more technical jargon or overlapping voices in group conversations. Also, the mobile app could be more intuitive – navigating through transcriptions on smaller screens feels a bit clunky at times. Lastly, pricing for the premium version might be a little steep for individual users who don’t need the full range of features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
