**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

It has very low latency when things are clicked, e.g. when clicking on an appointment in the schedule, the selection is registered immediately rather than after a delay (looking at you, denticon). Same goes for viewing radiographs, it's very responsive, they populate quickly, and can be viewed quickly. The multiple integrations are also really helpful, e.g. e-prescription, taking radiographs, the VOIP with Mango, billing, etc. The aesthetics is a big plus, and the relative ease of use too.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

There isn't much to dislike. There are some bugs regarding looking at radiographs in an FMS, sometimes I have to refresh the page to facilitate, or when taking intraoral photos, but I'm sure those can be worked on. Also when I'm writing a prescription using MD Toolbox, the MD Toolbox dialog window prevents me from using the window behind it unless I close it entirely, which is kind of annoying. I can open oryx in two separate windows as a workaround though.

**What problems is Oryx Dental Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's cloud-based. I don't have to deal with a server. Obviously there are concerns with that too but I prefer the cloud. 
Multiple integrations is a big deal, e.g. prescription, radiography, VOIP, etc etc. It's convenient, it's relatively pretty, which wins over a lot of clients I'm sure.

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

I like Oryx Dental Software for its ease of operation, which makes tasks straightforward for my dental office. The itemized billing feature is a significant improvement over the running ledger systems other software uses; it lets me categorize claims by date and payments, making it much easier to identify unpaid claims. Additionally, the initial setup was easy enough that my staff could handle it, and the transition to a cloud-based system was a big plus for us.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

I dislike not having live customer support. Currently, there's no one to call if we have issues, and we have to wait for someone to reply by email.

**What problems is Oryx Dental Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Oryx Dental Software makes my IT department obsolete by streamlining data management and scheduling. Its ease of operation is great, and itemized billing categorizes claims by date and payments, helping to identify unpaid claims easily.

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

It's cloud based, no server needed. You can log-in from home if needed to check the schedule or follow-up with patients on the chat. The design is smart and easy to use. I've worked with many different dental software in my 19 + years in dental and this is the go to dental software!

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

There is only a few downsides compare to the others. Internet is a must. In a bind, I was able to use my cell phone hotspot when WIFI went down, which is rare. The live agent availably is greatly missed, so I don't feel like my issues are truly resolved in the chat.

**What problems is Oryx Dental Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The billing side of this software is so smart and easy! This is my favorite feature of Oryx! You will always know where a balance is coming from. The collection side is smart and easy as well! 10+ on billing!  Scheduling has great features as well. I love the treatment planning too!

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

This is the best clinical practice management software I have ever used. I have already transitioned four clients to this platform. The automations continue to improve, which I really appreciate. I also like that credit cards are securely stored by the merchant, making it easy to set up payment plans and quickly clear accounts. The integration process was straightforward, and we received thorough guidance every step of the way. Easy to use from anywhere!

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

While there are still some aspects that require improvement, I have noticed significant progress overall. The time clock feature, however, remains quite poor. The automation for AR functions adequately, but it unfortunately sends messages to individuals on payment plans, which is problematic. Auto posting ERA can be unreliable due to occasional glitches. Support is sometimes lacking in specific areas. Additionally, the insurance component appears to be designed primarily for in-network use, and configuring out-of-network options presents some difficulties.

There are noticeable improvements every day, particularly on the admin side.

some quirks: would like a default schedule time for px types and assigned doctor/assistant time (rather than having to select each time). forms and reports can be challenging/counterintuitive to look at/search through. some items should be more easily maneuvered: referrals, you should be able to just search and select the name, not have to scroll through a drop down. treatment plan module: moving items around can be cumbersome; should always be able to drag and drop (even within the same appt). forms and emails and campaigns and consents are not straightforward to use

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

I absolutely value the web-based and cloud-based nature of Oryx Dental Software, as it aligns with the trend I foresaw towards these technologies. This feature allows me to access the software from any terminal or mobile device with web access, requiring just a good Internet connection without the necessity of heavy server usage. Furthermore, I appreciate that it incorporates a systematic approach that I learned at the Kois Center, which is seamlessly integrated into the software. I love that the software integrates features that eliminate the need for third-party apps, making my workflow more streamlined. Additionally, the integration with AI and its web-based accessibility are some of the most useful features for me. The software also has extended capabilities to work with AI from Mango AI and Overjet, which enhances functionality without the need for additional third-party software.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

I find the onboarding process challenging. It's very difficult to onboard when there are so many features, and there aren't enough trainers or people who are knowledgeable about the software and use it on a daily basis.

I find Oryx Dental Software integrates essential features without needing third-party apps, offers cloud-based access from any device, and simplifies workflow by reducing server use.

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

I love that Oryx Dental Software offers a comprehensive experience allowing me to do so much from each page without having to toggle between different modules or pages. Everything is easy to find and very user-friendly, which is a huge benefit for both myself and my practice. The ease with which it allows providers to take and track notes is outstanding, making record-keeping seamless and efficient. Their reports are user-friendly, adding to the overall usability. Additionally, Oryx effectively supports both our administrative and clinical teams. Clinically, its detailed system aids us in documenting findings and facilitates detailed note generation, especially during new patient exams. Administratively, the transition from a ledger to an invoice system is impressive, as it simplifies claims management and helps track what has been sent or remains pending. The morning huddle feature is particularly beneficial, providing a snapshot of the day that keeps our operations running smoothly. I highly appreciate how Oryx Dental Software streamlines routine tasks like sending consent forms, medical histories, and allows communication and task assignments within the team, making our daily operations significantly easier. Overall, the software stands out for its robust, user-friendly interface, and its ability to address the needs of both frontline and support staff in my dental practice.

I find the process of documenting teeth findings and radiographic findings cumbersome as it requires toggling between two different areas. It feels disjointed because I need to use separate modules to record these findings, making the workflow less efficient. While I understand the distinction between oral cavity findings and radiographic findings, I would prefer a more streamlined process where I could input all information in a single module without switching back and forth.

I appreciate Oryx Dental Software for its streamlined functionality that makes everything easy to use and navigable, which is particularly useful for clinical procedures. The software's use and implementation of artificial intelligence to simplify and enhance the reading of x-rays stands out as a very beneficial aspect. I also find the training modules to be extremely helpful, as they made the transition smoother for myself and my team, despite some initial challenges with the icons. Furthermore, I value the high recommendation from my colleagues, which was reinforced by my positive experience during the demo. Lastly, the integration of both clinical and billing processes into a single, efficient system is something I found uniquely advantageous in Oryx Dental Software.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

I found the initial setup of Oryx Dental Software a bit confusing, as there were some icons that took time for both myself and my team to adjust to. Additionally, the current price point feels a bit high for the features offered. I would also appreciate the inclusion of more features to streamline the clinical process further. It would be beneficial if additional clinical training was available, as well as having a representative assigned during the first few weeks of implementation to provide support.

I find Oryx Dental Software streamlines clinical and billing processes and enhances x-ray reading through AI, making it easier for me and my team. It's navigable and beneficial in simplifying clinical procedures.

This is truly an all-in-one software solution. We no longer have to juggle multiple vendors, logins, or keep several windows open for different tasks. Everything we need—texting, forms, online scheduling, and payment processing—is integrated in one place. I also appreciate that the platform is designed with a clinical focus, understanding the unique needs of the office from a clinical standpoint, not just a business one.

I would appreciate seeing additional automation features to help reduce the administrative workload.

There’s a critical error in the AR that includes the estimated write off from insurance. This hurts US dentists who have CPAs that don’t understand what they’re looking at.

They’re working hard at fixing many of the issues we’ve addressed. We have been very successful with communication and feel heard when bringing up the challenges we face.

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

Oryx is a combination of all of the best components of Dentrix, Axium, Open Dental, or any dental software you can think of. On top of that, you don’t need a company like Weave, Adit, or Revenue Well to help you send external communications to your patients for appointment reminders, email campaigns, or review requests. Submitting insurance claims is a breeze and the oryx support team is always there to help with any issues that may arise.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

Sometimes the software will glitch and not load for a few seconds. Other than that, the software is nearly perfect.

Submitting insurance claims smoothly, reminding patients of their appointments, helping us keep accurate records of charts/radiographs, and the fact that this is all cloud/not on a server

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

I've used Oryx for 7 years, and have seen it grow and change over that time into a robust interface that allows you to successfully diagnose, document, and apply risk management principles to the care provided to our patients. Its all-in-one package allows you to schedule, communicate with, request reviews, chart, take radiographs and even create your own consent documents in addition to the Kois ICD forms built into the software. If you're a Kois doc, you will immediately see how the software works seamlessly with John's teachings, and allows you to actually implement what you've learned. It is fantastic for sharing with patients their condition and risk. Among the various softwares I've used in my 18 years of practice, this is the best.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

- treatment planning and case presentation still a real challenge. not user friendly, hard to customize and make esthetic for a higher end case presentation.
- upgrades sound great but weren't well shared with original users and are geared to capture the DSO market; are cost prohibitive for the solo practice owner - this is so frustrating, because that flies in the face of the Kois center and its guiding principles. But market share matters, right? 
- customer service is harder to obtain now - you can't just call in to ask for help; it's a back and forth email dialogue that may not be as timely as you need it to be
- some lags in refresh time; often we need to refresh the entire page to get updates loaded.

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

I love that Oryx is a cloud-based, all inclusive practice management software. I have used Dentrix, Eagle Soft, and Open Dental, and Oryx is  so much better than the server based PMS. I love that I don't need a bunch of additional programs to integrate into Oryx. When I had open dental we were spending an extra $400/month just to be able to have online scheduling, electronic forms, and other basic features that are included in Oryx. It is really nice to have software that looks and feels modern. The built-in clearing house makes sending claims easy. I think one of my favorite things is how much Oryx listens to user feedback and is constantly improving the software.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

I wish they had invested more on creating video trainings on how to maximize our use of the software. There are some power users doing really cool things with Oryx, some who have taught courses on how to use it to the fullest. I wish Oryx paid them to create trainings on how they are utilizing the software and making it as aesthetic as possible, and how to integrate it into more comprehensive work flows. 

There are no large, negative things I dislike about Oryx. There are random little inconveniences where it can't do things that other softwares can, but they usually don't matter, and often have a different solution to accomplish the task.

Oryx is the software we use to manage our entire practice. From scheduling, keeping patient records, and dealing with insurance claims, it does it all well.

There are a ton of dental practice management software options out there, but Oryx really stands out. It actually brings everything together in one place. Everything just works smoothly.
One of the biggest things I love about it is that it’s cloud-based, so you can access what you need from anywhere. That kind of flexibility is huge.
Honestly, Oryx just makes running a practice easier. It’s modern, intuitive, and built for the way offices work.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

Oryx has a lot going for it, but there are a couple of areas that could use some fine-tuning. One big one is staff training—while the system is pretty intuitive, more training could help teams get the most out of it.  The custom reports have potential, but they still feel like they’re in the works. With some more refinement, they could match the high standard of the rest of the platform.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

The functionality of insurance benefits and how it is connected to the treatment plan is less than optimal. Oryx miscalculates the remaining benefits by subtracting the amount of next prophy visit so that if the patient has a procedure to be done prior to the next scheduled prophy visit, the coverage calculation is incorrect.

**What problems is Oryx Dental Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comparatively it is much more user friendly and much less glitchy than Eaglesoft. Aside from one day of sluggish performance (which Oryx fixed within hours), it has worked beautifully in the past 14 months we have used it. We used to have our server crash or disconnect from Eaglesoft on a daily basis which interrupted our day. We no longer have this issue with Oryx.

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

As an office manager I find the software to be super easy with submitting claims and all the billing. Being able to attach clinical notes as a whole and not excerpts is important. As a cloud based software I can login anywhere when I need to. Support is excellent in helping with any questions and they are also wonderful when offices suggest new ideas. They are always willing to listen, engage and update!!

I struggle most with treatment planning. Only because my assistants do it so efficiently that I don’t have to do it!

After 13 years in the dental field and experience with various dental software, I’m thrilled to have found Oryx. It’s efficient, modern, and accessible, eliminating the need for third-party systems. Clinically, it offers excellent features like health history tracking and patient questionnaires, improving our ability to care for patients. Oryx also enhances engagement with both patients and our team, making communication smoother and more efficient. I love that we no longer need to scan documents, freeing up my team to focus on patient care. The support team is responsive, and the conversion process was smooth. Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

I believe it takes time to get used to any dental software, but the longer you work with Oryx, the more you can take advantage of all its great features. What might seem challenging at first actually starts to make sense as you get familiar with it. Plus, Oryx is always open to feedback and continuously strives to improve.

Oryx has elimitated many of the issues but top 3 for our practice are the following:  Clinical accuracy with notes, scanning piles, 3rd party communication.

Software that does everything and accessible everywhere due to cloud

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

Can’t take X-rays offline, nothing works when internet is down. 
A few times it’s had major issues where we couldn’t function as an option. 
Anytime I need something fixed it takes more than 24 hours or over a weekend which really is unacceptable. 
The things they consider a feature request I consider basic functioning and they don’t fix it. 
Yes, some things are better than previous software but somethings just aren’t great at all.
Instructions to address a chronic issue aren’t always good.

They are always listening to your suggestions and recommendations.  What I love is that they are always working to improve the software.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

I wish you could customize the schedule more.  In our prior software, you could easily open/close a provider's column and it would adjust the gross production for the day.  Or if someone's schedule was changing you could select a date to have the schedule change and it would keep their old schedule.

**What problems is Oryx Dental Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching out to unscheduled treatment, MMS, reviews, all of the new AI, insurance, huddle prep.

When deciding we wanted a cloud based Software we knew what we wanted but hadn’t seen it until we came across Oryx. Oryx is your true all in one dental software, from patient communication, patient charting , to claims and submission and status it has been a game changer.

I can not say it’s a dislike but I think when calling customer service it should be easy to connect with a person than to have to wait.

**What do you like best about Oryx Dental Software?**

What sold me on oryx was the dental charting, specifically periodontal charting. The software is able to generate percentage bleeding, number of sites over 6 mm. And even better, a comparison overtime. The visualization and colours make it a great teaching tool and help explain periodontal health to my patients.

**What do you dislike about Oryx Dental Software?**

Being able to sort out, patience that have treatment plans, waiting for them, patience that no longer comes to the practice and thus need to be archived

**What problems is Oryx Dental Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me organize my office by allowing patients to register and provide their medical information before arriving to the office, sending text messages thus allowing better communication with patients.
