**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard is very easy to navigate, and it’s simple to move between features. The onboarding process was smooth; I was able to complete OnBoard Academy and set up our Board Management System exactly the way I wanted. The help and feedback section is fantastic. Whenever I have a question, I can click on the Help Center and find multiple videos and articles related to the topic. I haven’t used the Calendar or Microsoft integrations yet, so I can’t offer an opinion on those at this time.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I’m not a fan of how long it takes for changes to appear on the public posting page after we make updates. We’re also having issues with the “posted” and “last updated” time feature on the public page. We were told the original posting date and time would appear at the top of a meeting, along with the most recent date and time the meeting was updated, but this hasn’t been consistent. It has only worked for a couple of meetings, and then after another update, the original posting date and time disappeared. To comply with Indiana Open Door Laws, we added a line at the end of the agenda stating the day the meeting was originally posted.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous system was outdated, and we needed a better way to communicate with our board. The OnBoard App has been a great solution for sending out materials, collecting eSignatures, and even gathering lunch orders through Surveys. The Meeting Book is our board’s favorite feature because it lets them review the agenda and documents from anywhere. Before, it used to take me a whole day after the meeting to read through my notes, watch the recording for accuracy, and complete the minutes. OnBoard has saved me so much time by building the minutes, allowing me to take notes and record votes in the document.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard has an intuitive user interface that requires little to no training for our nontechnical board members. We love how it is available via browser as well as iOS and Android apps. It has dramatically reduced the effort required by our staff to assemble board materials prior to meetings, with team members able to upload documents pertinent to their portions of the agenda. It has also improved board engagement by providing visibility into board meeting materials as far in advance as possible. It is very useful to be able to share meeting agendas far in advance -- even before meeting materials are avilable, then to publish materials when available. We also love the ability to organize board members into groups and create meetings for those groups -- for subcommittees, for example. OnBoard is by far the most robust and easy-to-use platform for the price among several we evaluated. It is extremely simple to add meeting links for remote attendees for any online meeting platform, and they can easily join meetings directly from within OnBoard. We only needed support during the first few months, and we found the OnBoard support department to be both accessible and responsive.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I would love to see nonprofit discounts available for the more advanced features such as AI, the advanced minutes builder, and real-time voting. Amazingly, we have only had one technical bug in four years of using OnBoard, and that was resolved within about an hour.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before OnBoard, we would manually assemble paper packets of board meeting materials which was time consuming. When we discovered an error, we would have to print them all over again. Now, contributors can add their own content to the meeting materials, and mistakes can be corrected the moment they are discovered. Automated notifications inform board members of any updates as they are implemented.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard is extremely user-friendly and includes all the key features we need for board meetings, such as the ability to upload the agenda, minutes, and any required documents. It also offers user permissions and helps keep our data secure.

They are introducing several AI tools to further assist members during meetings and provide additional insights, and we’re looking forward to seeing what those additions have to offer.

It also offers integrations with Microsoft and Zoom for virtual meetings!
The provide excellent support and onboarding via their OnBoard Academy for every member whether they are board members or the CEO and executive assistant.

The ROI is very worthwhile for the price of our package, and it's overall performance is 5-stars!

The new AI suite is an additional add-on cost.

OnBoard has given our executive team and board a secure way to manage and share documents. We no longer have to email multiple files back and forth or keep sending updated copies. Everything is loaded once and then accessible in the meeting book or on the resource page in OnBoard. It has saved us countless hours that used to go into downloading and printing materials just to keep them on a USB drive or in a physical binder.

What I like best about OnBoard Board Management Software is how easy it makes organizing board meetings, agendas, and documents in one secure location. The platform has improved our workflow by reducing time spent emailing files back and forth and ensuring board members always have access to the most current information. The interface is intuitive, meetings run more efficiently, and the annotation and collaboration tools help keep everyone engaged and prepared. The customer support team has also been responsive and helpful whenever questions arise.

One downside of OnBoard Board Management Software is that some features can take time for new users to fully learn, especially board members who are less familiar with technology. OnBoard centralizes all my board activities in one place—from emailing board members and scheduling meetings to drafting agendas and assembling board books.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

In certain areas, you can’t format text at all—there are no options for changing fonts or adding spacing between lines. This is especially annoying when I’m creating home page announcements and messages for board members, because the text ends up looking cramped and harder to read.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating meetings, setting the agenda, and launching board polls is much quicker now. I also like that board polls are kept in one centralized place, which makes it easy to look back and reference them later. On top of that, board members have been becoming more responsive to action requests.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

OnBoard is very user-friendly. I have tried the AI Minutes integration software and love it. It is very helpful when typing up board minutes. It is also easy to upload documents for members to access and review before meetings. Whenever I have any issues, customer support is always available and responds quickly to help me resolve the problem.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

In the past, I’ve had trouble automatically integrating my Teams account and have had to set it up manually instead. I also don’t like that when board members RSVP through OnBoard, I don’t receive an email notification. I’m not sure whether that’s possible, but it would be really helpful, because when I’m busy I sometimes forget to check the RSVPs in OnBoard before meetings.

Using OnBoard eliminates the need to print board materials for board meetings, so we are saving money.  Board members are better prepared for meetings because they can review the handouts and the agenda all in one place.

I really like OnBoard Board Management Software for its ease of use, especially for managing the back end when uploading information and making it available to a large group of people both on and off-campus. It's also beneficial for obtaining information in a timely manner, archiving it, and accessing it while traveling, whether via a laptop or mobile device. The platform is intuitive, easy to navigate, and it's straightforward to train new users. I also appreciate its easy navigation and the offerings that led us to switch from our previous cumbersome and expensive product.

I like OnBoard Board Management Software because it efficiently saves time by securely storing all our board meeting materials in one place and organizing our board meetings precisely. Adding reports to our meetings is easy, and board books are compiled and downloadable quickly. This saves us from the hassle of emails and reformatting outside OnBoard. The automatic compilation of board books once our meeting is set up also saves time, and we have the option to print a paper book if needed. The initial setup was easy, and the board members quickly learned how to maneuver internally.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I don't like that there's no option to change or update minutes directly within the software when sending them to the board chair and secretary for approval. I have to send them the compiled minutes in an email, then upload the new version for their approval.

OnBoard saves time, organizes our board meetings perfectly, and securely stores all materials. It avoids time spent emailing and reformatting. Reports are easy to add, and board books are compiled quickly, which is a huge time saver for my team.

We had staffing change and needed to reassign the primary administrator for our OnBoard account. It very intuitive and easy to reassign roles and the transition was very smooth!

This is a pretty complete board portal platform that is both easy to use and so far has had great support.

We just brought on a new employee in our board liaison role and because the system is so intuitive, she was able jump right in with a short tutorial and be proficient with the platform. We had a homegrown board portal that lacked some functionality and support so we scrapped it and began looking for an alternative. OnBoard will create administrative efficiencies and improve how our board does business.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I use OnBoard Board Management Software to organize board materials and send meeting invites. I appreciate how it increases transparency and allows me to upload documents for board access efficiently. I no longer have to distribute multiple versions of documents when updates are made, and I love the automatic meeting reminders. The software provides a single source for board members to access materials, which is a huge plus. I really like its ease of use, organization, and modern user interface. It's easy to find meeting information and access resources, with files organized similarly to a desktop file management style with folders within folders. I also find the modern look of the user interface much better compared to others. Setting it up was very easy. OnBoard's onboard team was there every step to ensure set up and handoff was smooth.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Board members complain they are unable to print the board packet directly from OnBoard. Users have to either download the materials to their computers first, or export to a printer from the mobile app.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I love that building a board meeting in OnBoard Board Management Software is way easier. You can edit documents directly in the software, so there's no more different versions that I need to upload and update in the board book. Being able to create a PDF directly from OnBoard is really helpful. It also allows us to collaborate easier on building a board meeting. Myself, the director, and maybe some of the members of the board or other high level staff contribute towards building a meeting altogether. Having this one platform where we can all log in, equally update things, and not create any issues, like different versions or file issues, is super collaborative. The initial setup was really great, and the service and help from OnBoard is really top tier.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I don't currently use the minute builder because we have a template for doing minutes for my organization that we like and we're familiar with. I'd like for you to be able to upload a template that can match your style of how you already do minutes. That would be more helpful.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I like that OnBoard Board Management Software is easy to use and makes it simple to replace and compile documents. Without it, we would have to compile documents using PDFs that are not replaceable, which means more work every time we put them together. With OnBoard, I can seamlessly replace documents within the book, making the process more efficient. The ease of use was a significant factor in choosing OnBoard, and the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Sometimes we're not able to access the software. We have to clear our cache a lot. Sometimes when you're building a book, dragging and dropping documents, they'll go in the wrong place. Also, sometimes the book gets stuck, and then you have to have these little tricks and tips to get the system unstuck, like changing something in the settings to rebuild something. The functionality within the book could use improvement as well.

OnBoard Board Management Software solves the problem of compiling multiple documents into a uniform package, making them easily accessible for review in board meetings. It allows me to seamlessly replace documents within the book, reducing the workload compared to using non-replaceable PDFs.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I love how OnBoard Board Management Software allows me to duplicate meetings; this is great because the cadence of our school doesn't change much from year to year. It's a wonderful record keeper, maintaining the past 13 years of meetings, and an excellent document manager. I find the resources folder and the ability to search for files to be great features. The ease of record keeping and one-stop user management were significant factors in our switch to OnBoard. Gina Guy, our implementation specialist, was great during the setup process. Also, the OnBoard customer service is amazing, which I really appreciate.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

Sometimes the formatting in minutes is not the greatest. The spacing needs work.

I use OnBoard for easy record-keeping and document management. I love duplicating meetings because our topics don't change much yearly. The resources folder and file search are great, making setup easier, and managing everything in one place offers ease which prompted switching from Blackbaud.

So far, OnBoard has been very user-friendly for me as an admin, as well as for our Board of Directors and C-Suite team. **What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

1.)  Supports secure and confidential workflows that simultaneously enable agility and decentralized information activities.  In short centralized administration that can assign roles and access levels, but decentralized control so that meeting sponsors (aka creators) can still accomplish goals related to their responsible  area.

2.) Empowers preparedness for our Board and Committee members.  The meeting book is published as a "pre-read".  Members can make annotations, even share annotations with other meeting invitees.

3.) A built in OnBoard Academy, so I can ensure other administrators and creators are properly trained - even certified!  A robust help center, with related topics categorized together so that I can choose to get quick information to meet a need, or dive deeper for greater understanding.

4.)  The ability to quickly de-activate members and wipe their devices remotely.

5.) Believe it or not, being able to append the meeting book with a clickable Table of Contents, and add page numbering to the meeting book are quick settings that make a big difference both during the meeting and after.

6.) Facilitates a Corporate Standard for all board and committee related materials that in turn supports enterprise memory and institutional resilience.  Through the OnBoard platform, the organization has a bonafide repository of information that facilitates research and retrieval activities when requests are presented.    In short, the transcendent nature of this "library" is a means by which those of us in the present can aid team members in the future by sharing and receiving knowledge in a particular way.

7.) AI minutes:  through this feature we can record, transcribe, and generate a draft set of minutes that can be further refined into our corporate standard.  This feature was easily integrated across all our various board and committee meeting sponsored by different meeting creators.

I am still hoping for this capability: As an administrator, I want the ability to make certain settings permanent so that all meeting creators follow a consistent standard. For instance, at the moment, either I or the meeting creator must manually enable options to add a table of contents to the meeting book and to include page numbers on every meeting object. I would really like to have these as global settings.

I like the ease of use that OnBoard Board Management Software offers. It doesn't take long to train someone on using the system. It's user friendly. The arrangement of files, with tabs that make it easy for members to find needed documents. I also appreciate the Microsoft 365 editing feature which saves downloading time. 

I have found the customer support group to be very helpful and accommodating. Additionally, I have recommended it to a few people, showing my satisfaction with the software.

I ran into a few issues with the assessment this year. I originally created it three years ago and then would duplicate it for each new year since it’s a long document. Unfortunately the duplication doesn’t update with the current board members even though I change them. It includes all older members in its calculations, and that ends up throwing off the completion percentages. I’ve been looking at other board software because of the cost, but so far I haven’t found anything that offers the same quality of features.

The user interface of OnBoard is one of the best software platforms for boards that I have seen. As an admin, it was easy to set-up on the back-end and then implement with our board (some of who were new to the board and some who were not and used to paper books each meeting). The features included in the Ultimate package are worth the cost, as our team utilizes most of the features included on a frequent basis. Some features are only used once a year on our end, but it is nice to have it available and in the same place (OnBoard) that our board members are used to using. When we have an issue, the customer success team is readily available for support.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

As an admin, we are missing some key RSVP features that would be really helpful. One example is that there is no way for an admin to change a member's meeting RSVP response in OnBoard. When I get an email from someone who's plans have changed that day, I can't edit their RSVP for that meeting, which impacts the RSVP report that can be downloaded. I have to keep track of their response separately, which is a pain. Additionally, if you make any updates/edits to the meeting details (such as change the room/location), OnBoard will default everyone's RSVPs to "No Response", so then everyone has to go back in to OnBoard and update their RSVP again. That is really inefficient and not a good use of our board members' and admins' time.

OnBoard puts all the work of agenda building, document attachments, and meeting notices in one place that is user friendly on both sides.

We love everything in one place. From board meetings to committee meetings, it's all there. OnBoard serves as our secondary archive. We also love the security of the information and the ability to assign roles to the users. Our onboarding was simple, the software/application is very intuitive.

We have not experienced any downsides. Perhaps the video link option. I'm one of the admins, but one of my staff members has the Zoom account we prefer to use for our board meetings, and that requires a few steps to manually set up the Zoom link. I can't load a Zoom link for his name and then go back to it when we need to, as we set up a new meeting.

OnBoard has genuinely provided the structure our board of trustees needed. The platform allows us to monitor board engagement metrics effectively. Conducting surveys and virtual voting has become seamless and straightforward, which has been especially valuable in our hybrid setting. OnBoard remains user-friendly and simple to navigate. As we lean more into the platform, we are learning additional features such as the minutes builder.

One drawback of the platform is that it does not allow for a "super user" role with full access to all areas. Additionally, each time a new folder is created, it is necessary to notify the administrator so they can be granted access, which can be inconvenient. I will say customer service representatives have been responsive to this matter.

OnBoard has made it much easier for our board members to access meeting books ahead of upcoming meetings. It also enables board members to work together on documents, which has improved our collaboration. Another advantage is the flexibility to assign Admin roles as needed within meetings, groups, resources, and documents. We are now able to conduct virtual votes on important issues, which helps us avoid scheduling additional meetings. Additionally, we can see which board members have reviewed the board packet before the meetings take place. Onboard remains an effective way to have a collaborative environment across our board of trustees. It's a bonus that they find it easy to use.

OnBoard is such a crazy easy platform – I already feel as though we’ve been using it for years and, yet why didn’t we begin using it years ago?! Driving OnBoard makes me feel I’m in command of the USS Enterprise – it can go anywhere and it gets you there in style. As a Board Admin, the ability to Messenger any or all directors and then having the communication thread harnessed so neatly has greatly reduced my stress level.  In addition, having all pertinent Board materials available to members is what really sold me to OnBoard.  Their incredible customer service, however, is what really convinced me I would be fully supported and not left to flounder at the controls.

So far, after many months of navigating OnBoard, I have not encountered any issues, I'm happy to say!

The OnBoard team takes very good care of the customer. From the demo phase to implementation, the OnBoard team keeps you informed of what to expect next and is ready and willing to answer all the questions you have.

I haven't run into anything I don't like - I don't know what I don't know. Looking forward to figuring out how to use all the features the software has.

Streamlining the process of BOD meetings, from invites to meeting minutes. Saving time is the most important thing for our company.

OnBoard Management Software excels as a centralized communication tool, consolidating documents with user-specific permissions. It sends calendar invitations to alert users of upcoming meetings or available materials, while upcoming events are visible on the home page. Voting is streamlined via email, with results compiled into reports. E-signatures enhance functionality further, showcasing its numerous impressive features, making it challenging to highlight just one!

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

As an Administrator, the learning curve for OnBoard can be challenging due to time constraints for watching instructional videos and managing regular tasks before fully transitioning to the product. More time for familiarization with the program would be beneficial. While this isn't a product defect, suggestions for improvements can be submitted via a ticket, a fair approach to incorporating user feedback.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OnBoard Board Management Software enables comprehensive oversight by showing who has read materials, voted, registered for meetings, and commented, all in one place. This convenience eliminates the need for direct inquiries. During audits, auditors can access necessary information without emailing documents. Additionally, composing minutes is streamlined as OnBoard integrates the agenda and attendance records directly into the minutes, enhancing efficiency and enjoyment of the process.

Having everything in one place has been very helpful. The features like in-system signing of documents and tasks have helped with keeping everything in one place. This will be the board's second year with OnBoard and they've all adopted to using it quite well. Being able to set the permissions for everything based on groups or individuals has been useful.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

It would be helpful to be able to create meeting series since most board or committee meetings happen on a regular basis and sending one meeting invite instead of 10 would be nice.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem solved by OnBoard is the fact that emails and information were getting lost. Most of my board members are working or are busy and the number of emails going back and forth among the rest of their emails was difficult to keep track of. Having meetings, agendas, minutes, and resources all in the same place has helped fix that.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I really appreciate OnBoard Board Management Software for its simplicity of use. The training academy is great, but I've learned more from the journey of actually using it. I find it incredibly easy to set up, and I managed a lot of the setup myself to ensure it fits our governance structure. The software does a fantastic job of centralizing all our governance interactions and actions, helping to modernize our volunteer leadership experience. Using it with Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft 365 has been seamless.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I would prefer that my initial investment cover more than the 100 seats that came with it.

OnBoard centralizes all our governance interactions and actions and modernizes our volunteer leadership experience.

I like that OnBoard is user friendly and intuitive.  I have also had good luck with their customer service.  They're very easy to contact and knowledgeable.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

It's not really OnBoard's fault, but some of the features - like AI minutes - aren't quite right for our board because we mostly meet in person.  I feel like we could take advantage of a lot more tools if we met remotely.

**What problems is OnBoard Board Management Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the directory in OnBoard for Board Members to easily access all necessary documents has been very helpful. We’re also using much less paper since we no longer need to print every document for each meeting. In addition, OnBoard makes it much easier for Board Members who prefer to join meetings online, keeping everyone connected and informed.

**What do you like best about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

The visibility and transparency I, as the CEO, can provide my board members in a functional, user friendly format in a consolidated workspace designated for our organization. We use the Resource section extensively for historical documents, board and committee meeting minutes, financials, tax and audit materials, etc. The meeting book building function saves us significant time in preparation for board and committee meetings and enables us to share agendas and documents days in advance.

**What do you dislike about OnBoard Board Management Software?**

I love the software. My challenges are in board member adoption as the advantage of having a designated virtual workspace separate from my board members' company resources cuts both ways.
