"Stable, Reliable, and Transparent"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Overall usability. SQL is easy to set up, support, and migrate. Queries are simple and straightforward and there's a wealth of resources available everywhere. I've used it to run simple and complex applications - for both it has been extremely easy to implement and support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I've not experienced anything I personally dislike about SQl. It's always performed reliably for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Enterprise Level DB Solution for Windows Platform"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

MS SQL Server is easy to deploy and has various advantages over other enterprise level DB solutions. Installation is easier compared to Oracle and does not need a huge amount of resources to start with. Easy to learn and maintain. An excellent back end for SharePoint portal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The price is on a higher side and needs good infrastructure to support its setup and installation. The infrastructure price could add up if you plan on deploying Development, Test and Production versions. The administration needs good training and experience. "Really easy to administer database server"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It has a really easy installation and administration interface. It is fast configurable and easy to administer by non administrative personel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The requisites for installation, you need a Windows license and a lot of memory. Other options like MariaDB, Oracle, MySQL or PosGRE could be installed on multiple operating systems with less minimal requirements. Other thing to consider is memory and CPU use is more optimized in Linux than Windows so this database is slower than other cheaper options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Used SQL to run database queries"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I used SQL to run queries to retrieve back information. SQL stores information very well and the language used to query is easily understood. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Can be slow at times and there is a job scheduler that always seems to either be not running or just giving me errors where attempting to backup or restore a database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Product for our Business"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I love the incorporation of our Accounting Software. We have two separate ERPs but don't use the accounting side of those applications because of the fact we have two. We use GP for both of these, and we incorporate control using SQL. It has helped us to leverage our financial data at two separate plants into one DB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Error defining. When we do have issues it is really complicated in deciphering the errors. It can take awhile to figure out what has happened and what has caused it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We like that is very robust, has a free express version that works well for us Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Express is only 2gb limit on database size, we usually have to purchase full license for bigger databases Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
