"SQL Server"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Works well enough like any other relational database, though I always love using Microsoft native tools. I think that I would specifically choose to use a Microsoft SQL database over a MySQL just for the known brand/name and the expected stability and vendor support. What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The built-in management tools are too bloated. It takes a while for them to load up, and when they do often they feel more clunky than they should for such an enterprise product. I also feel the security, while important and tight, is often too difficult to navigate based on roles, users, etc. It may be more suited to larger deployments with dozens of unique roles and users within them. "SQL Server 2016"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

What's best is the ability for seamless auto encryption for passwords. Today with data hosted in azure, security is of utmost importance.

I like it's capability for Automatic database tuning, New graph database capabilities, In-memory enhancements.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The aggravating part is where SQL Management Studio has been split apart from the database engine at installation. We would have to search around searching for the right version compatible with it's corresponding database engine version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SQL Server Management Studio is like front end to communicate with SQL Server visually. "
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I like SQL query designer which provides me the flexibility to drag and drop tables to creates queries. It also helps me identify how tables are interlinked with foreign keys and dependencies within one or multiple databases. I like how we can create scheduled job task and maintenance plans using SSMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I dislike debugging temp tables in stored procedures and functions. We cant keep the interconnecting while debugging stored procedure which is, in turn, calling other stored procedures/ functions. I wish we can see run-time variables and view in command window like visual studio.net. Performance debugging one which part taking time is also difficult to predict without third parties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
