## Microsoft Clarity Reviews
  ### 1. Insightful, Free, and Effortlessly Integrates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafał M. | Vice President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I like that Microsoft Clarity is free and does not slow down page rendering. The session recording is important because it allows me to see and review the whole process when customers open my offer and identify the focus points. Heatmaps help me reorganize the offer template to keep all customers interested in the whole page. The initial setup was very easy, just requiring a small bit of code to be added to the website source.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

It could be better integrated with Google Analytics but I understand that they are competition in some way.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I track and identify which parts of my offers are viewed most, see customer interactions through session recording, and use heatmaps to reorganize my offer template to engage customers beyond just pricing.

  ### 2. M. Clarity’s Live Recordings Insights and User Intent Dashboard Stand Out

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swosti H. | Digital Marketing Manager, Hospitality, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I would like to mention two things of M. Clarity. One is insights segment and for me the user intent section on the main dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

In the LIVE user view section, I can only see the location shown as the country name. It would be much more helpful if the location could also display the state/region and city names.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’ll repeat what I said before: the LIVE recordings section is very helpful for me. It makes it easier to check which pages users visit and based on the engagement time I can determine my website's pages performance like loading time, user sessions etc.

  ### 3. Insightful UX Analysis, But Needs Event Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samir M. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I really value using Microsoft Clarity for watching session recordings. It's great that it saves all recordings for a long time, unlike other tools where I can’t keep recordings for more than 30 days. This long-term storage is super efficient for finding where users struggle and detecting UX issues. It allows me to analyze a user's entire journey, for instance, when a user churns, which helps me find qualitative product patterns. Also, the initial setup was super easy.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Sometimes the recordings are buggy and it does not support adding events. I wish it could ensure high-quality recordings, enable us to fire events, filter recordings by them, and also create funnels.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Clarity for watching session recordings, which helps me identify where users struggle and detect UX issues. It allows me to save recordings long-term, enabling analysis of user journeys to spot qualitative product patterns.

  ### 4. Cost-Free Insight with Seamless Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcin U. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I love using Microsoft Clarity because it's free, even though it means my data is used by Microsoft. I appreciate that there's no additional cost, unlike Hotjar and similar tools, which can be quite expensive. It provides clever insights into how actual users use my website, which is really valuable when used effectively. The initial setup with GTM was super easy, which is one of the best things about it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Nothing in particular maybe the fact my data is used to improve COpilot XD but on the other hand its free so..

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and recordings to understand my clients and how they interact with my website. It's free, providing clever insights without added costs.

  ### 5. Easy-to-Use Insights Into How Users Interact With Our Webpages

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I like understanding how users interact with the webpages and where specifically on the page I start new tests. Its rather easy to use and helps me understand how to make the user experience better. It is also very easy to implement on the website and I frequently use it every week, sometimes multiple times a day. It intergrates well inside my clients websites as well.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

I wish it could compare (measure and report) on previous periods, and also provide AI insights when comparing user behavior across different campaigns.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me understand how users interact with our pages, and it makes it easier to see what they do as they navigate through the site.

  ### 6. Essential for Understanding User Behavior

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhuri S. | Self Employed, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I use Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with my website. It helps me analyze session recordings, heatmaps, and user behavior so I can identify usability issues, improve page layouts, and optimize the user experience. It easily spots issues like dead clicks and confusing navigation, which helps me fix user experience problems faster. The session recordings and heatmaps give clear, visual insights into user behavior and the fact that it's free with no major limitations makes it even more valuable. The initial setup was very easy and it started collecting data almost right away. Overall, I find it easy to use, and it provides really valuable insights, making it a tool I'd confidently recommend to others.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

The only thing I would suggest for improvement is having more advanced filtering and comparison options in reports. Also, having more granular filtering options, like combining multiple user actions or traffic sources more easily, would be great.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Clarity to understand user interactions on my website with session recordings, heatmaps, and behavior analysis. It helps identify usability issues, optimize page layouts, and fix user experience problems quickly, eliminating reliance on assumptions.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

I hope that it has a more knowledge base to add the content for the AI.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Clarity for understanding customer interests through heatmaps and recordings, and to drive sales with agentic AI answering questions on my website.

  ### 8. Best heatmap tool of the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrés Felipe G. | Data Strategis, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I love how easy it is to get super clear insights on what people are doing on my site. The heatmaps show exactly where folks click or scroll, and the session replays make it feel like you’re right there watching. Plus, it’s totally free and simple to set up — honestly, it feels like a secret weapon for my website.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Honestly, not much to complain about. If I had to pick something, maybe the dashboard could load a bit faster sometimes. But for a free tool that gives this much info? I’m more than happy!

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Clarity has been a total game-changer for us. Before, we knew what was happening on our site (thanks to analytics), but we could only guess why. Clarity shows us the "why" with incredible detail.
Watching session replays is like looking over a user's shoulder. We've identified confusing parts of our checkout process, found non-obvious UI bugs, and understood exactly where users drop off. The heatmaps have also been invaluable for redesigning our landing pages to make sure the most important information and buttons get the attention they deserve. It's an essential tool for improving our UX and has saved us countless hours of guesswork.

  ### 9. Powerful behavior analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luca P. | Chief Operations Officer DEQUA Studio | Formerly CTO in MarTech, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft Clarity is a behavior analytics tool that focuses on visualizing user interactions on websites through robust features like session replays, click heatmaps, and scroll tracking. One of the strongest elements is the fact that all functionality is offered without data limitations, and performance does not noticeably interfere with page load.

The session replays provide a clear and accurate view of how visitors interact with individual pages, including mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling patterns. This feature is well-structured and makes it easier to interpret behaviors compared to traditional event-based solutions. Heatmaps are automatically collected without requiring manual setup, and the interface organizes them neatly by page, device type, and traffic filter.

The filtering options within Clarity are another strong point. It supports segmenting traffic by device, user attributes such as country or browser, and even specific behavior triggers like “rage clicks” or “excessive scrolling.” Having these behavioral indicators natively integrated is impactful because it reduces manual analysis and highlights where usability issues may be occurring.

Integration with Google Analytics is also straightforward. By connecting the two, it becomes easier to move from aggregate quantitative data in Analytics to qualitative behavior insights in Clarity with little friction. In addition, the dashboard interface is clean, intuitive, and scales well across different site sizes.

Finally, there is a noticeable emphasis on data security and compliance. Clarity anonymizes user data, masks sensitive inputs like form fields, and adheres to GDPR requirements, which is critical when managing visitor session recordings at scale.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

One area where Clarity could be improved is in the reporting depth. While session replays and heatmaps are highly visual, the tool does not provide as much customizable reporting compared to other analytics platforms. It lacks advanced funnel visualization or complex path analysis, which would benefit larger projects where mapping user journeys is key.

Another limitation is that despite the integration with Google Analytics, third-party integrations beyond that are limited. For example, not having direct connectors with A/B testing platforms or CRM systems reduces flexibility for organizations that want to tie behavioral data into broader workflows.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Microsoft Clarity in place, it has been possible to clearly identify friction points within user experiences by watching session replays and matching them with abnormal behaviors such as excessive clicking or unexpected scroll depth.
This visibility has removed much of the guesswork involved in diagnosing usability problems.

By relying on the heatmaps, it became straightforward to confirm whether visitors actually interacted with calls to action, menus, or content placed further down the page. This type of validation has directly led to better content positioning and reduction of unnoticed design elements.

The integration with Google Analytics bridged the gap between quantitative and qualitative analysis. Instead of only knowing that a page had high bounce rates, I could see what users were doing before leaving, which meant design and navigation refinements were based on observable evidence rather than abstract metrics.

Clarity has also supported compliance requirements because of its built-in privacy safeguards. Sensitive input masking has prevented personal user information from ever being exposed in session recordings, which made the adoption process more straightforward across teams handling customer-facing platforms.

Overall, Microsoft Clarity has become valuable as an accessible, cost-effective way to gain visibility into user experience without significant overhead or licensing complexity. It has delivered transparency into user behaviors that were previously hidden by only looking at quantitative dashboards, and that transparency has informed more grounded design and product decisions

  ### 31. A good alternative to Hotjar

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anandapadmanabh S. | Content Marketer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

My team moved to Clarity after using Hotjar for a while. What i've noticed is that it's very similar to Hotjar except it's cleaner and more user intuitive. I like all the features it provides and the data is more digestible. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a Hotjar alternative.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Nothing much actually. It could be slightly confusing initially, but you can get used to the layout and functions pretty easily.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us understand user behaviour. By using that data, we're able to optimize our landing pages, infographics, blogs, etc. This can greatly impact conversion rates and just simply help us make our pages more appealing to users.

  ### 32. What can you say about Microsoft Clarity?

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael Z. | Quality Control Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

The user interface is confusing at first but it grows on you as you get along. What I like best about the service is the data it delivers, I showed it to my client and it works like a charm. Plus points for the support!

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

The only downside is that sometimes delays in processing data are noticeable. It would be great if it gets updated realtime.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helps me to identify the static and mostly view part of our website plus it has a share feature where I can show the data to our team. I also like the filter functions as it gives us a clear view of what our customers at looking into.

  ### 33. Microsoft Clarity is an excellent website analytics tool that offers a wide range of features.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

One of the best things about Microsoft Clarity is its ease of use. The tool is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for businesses of all sizes to use. The tool also integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft tools, such as Office 365 and Dynamics 365, which makes it easy for businesses to access their website analytics within the same platform.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

One of the downsides of Microsoft Clarity is that it only retains data for 30 days. This means that businesses will not be able to access data older than 30 days, which can be a limitation for businesses that need to analyze long-term trends or historical data.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides detailed information on visitor behavior, such as clicks, scrolling, and time spent on each page. It also offers heatmaps, session recordings, and user insights to help businesses understand how visitors interact with their website.

  ### 34. Very interesting insights in Clarity. Rage clicks and heat map are very good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhavik N. | Marketing Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft clarity has helped me to identify key areas where users click on the website and where I can place CTAs. Their video recording feature is the best. One can easily identify where the user is wandering on the website.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Clarity UI is very simple and there is not much to walk around. It lacks custom tracking URLs and setting goals. Also, clarity doesn't give the user journey analysis.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarity helps me identify rage spots and where I should put my CTAs. With session replies, we have understood where users are staying and which helped us to decrease bounce rate.

  ### 35. Great Analytics Tool for Website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anish A. | Frontend Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft Clarity helps us to identify website analytics quickly. We monitor our website traffic, source of traffic, the geography of the user and much more quickly with Microsoft Clarity.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft Clarity could provide better API features to integrate seamlessly with our admin panel so we can monitor all the data inside our admin panel itself. Microsoft Clarity also lacks in tracking custom events like Google Analytics.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Microsoft Clarity to monitor our website traffic and its sub-data like geography, source, and activity on the panel. Heatmaps and screen recordings also help us to understand how the user behaves on our web pages.

  ### 36. Very Useful and Easy to Use tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft Clarity is straightforward to use. It helps me understand how our users interact with our websites. It provides detailed heatmaps on which part of the site the users engage with the most.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Nothing as of now, Microsoft clarity is very easy to use and simple to set up.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Clarity helps me understand how our users engage with our site, and it also does not affect the site's performance. It gives us a picture of what our users like the least and the most about the site.

  ### 37. User heatmap and interaction improved

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaidul Hoque S. | Information Management Officer - GBV, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft Clarity is entirely safe as it is GDPR compliant. And using it gave me more clarity and reach.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

A bit tricky to use for all sorts of users.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do a lot of surveys in our sector, and it helps us get the sessions for the study and use them later on.

  ### 38. Incredible and free!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos P. | Lead Ux Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I love Clarity because is absolutely free and doesn't have limit of records and sessions

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

We'd hope of Clarity to get most interactive heatmaps, because have some issues on it UI

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To know more about our users and detect improves on UX

  ### 39. {"translation":"Please provide the text you would like translated."}

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leandro R. | Senior Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

It helps me see the user's level of frustration in addition to heat maps and recordings.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

It is not very intuitive, sometimes it is complex to use if you need a specific filter.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Level of frustration, measure conversion rate among others that include quantitative and qualitative data.

  ### 40. Easy setup and very useful dashboards

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edoardo B. | Head of UX, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Super easy integrations with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
Very useful dashboards for a complete overview and nice UX to deepen the analysis.
Very effective filter system.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Sometimes page rendering in record or heatmaps is faulty
Login has always error problems due to redirect

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily filter navigation sessions by device or OS, by length or page views n° and optimize for a specific segment or provide data very fast to my client/team.
It has less bugs than Hotjar and more features, and surprisingly a very good UX (despite it is a Microsoft tool)

  ### 41. Very useful tool for website visitors tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmed Samy E. | Founder and Digital Marketing Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

I liked its ease of use, in addition to it's a free tool that offers almost every feature you need to track the behaviors of your website visitors, including sessions video recording, heat maps, and scroll map.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

I have tried three similar tools before, and I think that Microsoft clarity doesn't need any urgent improvements, I just wish that its future paid plans will be affordable.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a very important tool for website owners as it shows how visitors behave when they visit the website pages, so it helps highlight the areas that need optimization in the website.

  ### 42. Best product for website visitor analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

The best part is Clarity is free and does the same thing that paid platforms like hotjar do. This is very helpful for startups like us at early stages.
We are able to see some basic analytics and recordings.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Wish if Clarity could completely replace Google Analytics. It's difficult to look at 2-3 products like Google Analytics, Google search console and then Clarity.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want to see the heatmaps of website visitors and also we are able to see the recording of these visitors.

It also gives us some basic website analytics information.

  ### 43. Reliable tool for true analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nouman A. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

It gives the true experience of a user to help me improve the places of my website. It works good with google analytics to help improve website. I think non of its competitors give smooth visual recording like Clarity gives.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

I have tried filter my IP adress from clarity but it doesn't work and i get my own usage report mostly. There should be step-by-step guide for this filtering as most of admins don't have the static IP, It should be resolved.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Clarity:**

With all the capabilities it gives, It is the lightest tool among all.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I watch a full recording of a session and analyse the user intent and response at defferent parts of my website, I am productive when it needs improving user exp. My business performed better after improving the click funnels which I analysed using clarity.

**Official Response from Microsoft Clarity:**

> Hi Nouman!

Thanks for using Clarity. We would love to help you out with IP blocking issues you are facing, could you please reach out to us with your project details at ClarityMS@microsoft.com.

  ### 44. Knowing your user beyond standard analytics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olaf S. | Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

The best feature of Clarity is beyond doubt their "heatmap" & recording features. Knowing how and where your user interacts most on your page gives you another level of on-page content and call-to-action optimization. Why have your best banner ads or action buttons in areas that turned out to be dead-space?

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

As with any new platform, the interface takes some getting used to. Luckily it's not as complex as some of the other analytics providers out there. If you're using Bing Webmaster Tools, it would have been great to have Clarity integration within the same interface.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By knowing what areas of a website its users are potentially missing allows us to optimize and re-arrange vital pieces of the content layout to achieve maximum user interaction at any given moment.

  ### 45. Microsoft's good attempt- Clarity

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul A. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Clarity is Microsoft's attempt to track and project what the users are doing on your web application. It is a free analytics tool that shows the data on the dashboard. Clarity traces the data from your website and projects it as heatmaps, engagement metrics, website performance, and recordings. The stats basically help in improving the user experience of your website. The best part is, it is free and easy to set up and get started. Allows unlimited recording and storage of recording for up to 12 months. It also integrates with Google Analytics.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Though Clarity is a good attempt by Microsoft, as of now, it is not better than Google Analytics. The data provided is basic, more filter options on data are expected. It also lacks A/B testing tools for UX testing and design improvements. The dashboard UI is simple and basic.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Clarity:**

Go for it if you want to try a new and free analytics tool for a small/ mid size project.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I believe the setup and implementation are simple, the software is free so it saves cost. The team was able to visualize the data in a simplistic manner and I would say that it is a good tool for a small project.

**Official Response from Microsoft Clarity:**

> Hello Rahul,
We are appreciative of your candid feedback on Clarity and want to know how we can improve so that we can change your rating of our product from 3.5 stars to 5. We are sorry for the misunderstanding in thinking that our product is a GA competitor, in fact we complement GA and have many integrations with it. Please check out our GA+Clarity landing page here: https://clarity.microsoft.com/google-analytics. I noticed you mentioned lack of A/B testing as well, did you know we integrate with AB Tasty? Check out the blog we wrote on the integration here: https://clarity.microsoft.com/blog/clarity-integration-now-in-ab-tasty/. We are continually reviewing user feedback and work to implement those changes on a consistent basis. If you have suggestions of other filter options, please do let us know so that we can continue to work to improve our functionality.

Cheers,
The Clarity Team

  ### 46. Helpful for guidance, not enough for conclusions

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

There are good overviews of scrolling behavior, click placements, split out by device, sessions & location. The heat maps are helpful in seeing hover time. It's easy to set up if you know what data points are most important for your needs.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

I find the dashboard confusing and contains too many variables to be useful. It would be easier if Clarity started with the "industry best practice" KPI's and let us customize from there. Similarly, drilling down into each area, there are way too many variables to draw conclusions. Would love to see more of the "80/20" guidelines, if the user outlines highest priorities.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Clarity:**

Be clear on the highest priorities and goals, do not get distracted with the influx of other data points until you have established a few good baselines and can expand.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Want to improve the conversion rate of all digital campaigns, prioritizing paid advertising driving to specific landing pages. We have made changes to the mobile experience, as it relates to form functionality, but have not seen clear results on conversion lift yet.

  ### 47. Microsoft Clarify - A simple tool for user management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaunak P. | Design Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

1. This an open-source software and free of cost for all the users
2. The installation process is simple and user friendly
3. The user can integrate data from different sources, including Googe Analytics and other website performance data
4. This tool offers some cool features like unlimited recording, unlimited heatmaps with the taste of simplicity
5. The software allows you to store the data recordings for 12 months with no extra costs

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

1. The user interface is simple and cannot perform high-end analytics
2. A challenging task to process and visualize a large amount of data using this tool
3. There is no option to filter traffic based on the traffic source or campaign
4. This software lacks the A/B testing tools needed for UX based testing
5. Needs further improvements to the design and user interface

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. I use this tool to track the actions of users on my articles and project websites
2. It provides me with user engagement metrics, recordings, heatmaps, analytics, session replay, website performance data
3. The performance data helps me to improve/modify my website design and user experience
4. The data analysis has helped me to boost up my website traffic by 20 percent in a timeframe of 3 months
5. A simple, free of costs and user-friendly tool

**Official Response from Microsoft Clarity:**

> Hi Shaunak - Thanks for your review and feedback! We would love to understand more about your suggestion of improvements to the user interface. Feel free to reach out to us at ClarityMS@microsoft.com.
Additionally, Clarity does support traffic filters including source and campaign. You can find them in filters under the "Traffic" category.

  ### 48. Analytics that give amazing insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emile M. | Cloud Based Software Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

The best thing about Microsoft Clarity is the heatmap function, it is able to track users on your website not only by page but by where on the page the most activity was spent. I know there are many apps offering the same service but Clarity has ease of use that I don't want to move away from

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft Clarity would be able to benefit from the addition of a few extra features to its repertoire. The basic elements do their job and they do it well, but adding user data and drop-off segments would greatly increase its use.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The heatmap is by far my most useful tool as I am currently using it as a long-term a b testing field when I design new functions and additions to my pages. The feedback helps me create more user-friendly and intuitive pages.

**Official Response from Microsoft Clarity:**

> Hi Emile!

Thanks for your review, we appreciate your feedback! We would love to understand more about your suggestion of 'adding user data and drop-off segments'. Feel free to reach out to us at ClarityMS@microsoft.com.

  ### 49. Best UX analytics tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Viraj P. | Solutions Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

The best thing about this tool is it is stacked with pro features and it's FREE, Plus it's very easy to install. It is more beneficial since its already integrated with Google Analytics Data and allows unlimited recording.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

Analytical data is basic, and it is not a Google Analytics Data replacement, plus cant filter traffic by traffic source/campaign. It is better if it has a better and advanced Analytical tool.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

"rage clicks" and "excessive scrolling" features are really helpful during users' sessions. Using the "rage clicks" feature helps us to improve our usability and provide clickable links into necessary places.

**Official Response from Microsoft Clarity:**

> Hi Viraj,

Thanks for your review and feedback! We are glad to hear our ML insights are helping in understanding your customers.

Clarity is built to work complimentary to Google Analytics.

Also, we are sorry to hear that you couldn't filter by source/campaign. You can find these filters under the "Traffic" category. If you are having other issues with these filters, please feel free to reach out to us at ClarityMS@microsoft.com.

  ### 50. Clarity: Gives clarified information than just data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shiva r. | Content Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Clarity?**

Microsoft clarity is not just another heatmap based analytics tool, it gives more than it. It gives you actionable information. Which heatmap means what? What is the user most probably doing at a given section and a small tidbit on the same as well.

The recent updates on editable sections are insightful as well. I'm able to map out not just which sections my users are spending more time on but what per cent (compared to other sections) are they spending time on.

The best parts are
1. It's free
2. GDPR Compliant
3. Can integrate easily with Google Analytics
4. Has good UTM tracking mechanisms (thanks to GA integrations) tells you which user came from where and help diagnose good issues.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Clarity?**

While Microsoft clarity is great, it is more or less a basic version compared to such analytics. It also lacks important features such as audience segmentation, error reporting and most importantly, goal-based funnel analysis.

**What problems is Microsoft Clarity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now some of the biggest problems that Microsoft clarity has helped me with is by doing funnel analysis. I understood clearly what part of the users dropped off where and how can I improve their experience in those parts so my funnel is leak-free as much as possible.

**Official Response from Microsoft Clarity:**

> Hi Shiva,

Thanks for your review and feedback! We would love to understand more about your suggestion of 'audience segmentation and goal-based funnels', please feel free to reach out to us at ClarityMS@microsoft.com.
