Learning Pool - Platform Reviews & Product Details

I appreciate that Learning Pool Platform has removed the responsibility of technical maintenance from us, allowing us to focus elsewhere. I trust it to be a robust platform and it ensures we don't need to worry about security aspects. I also find the dashlets feature particularly useful for surfacing achievements and keeping learners motivated. I find the initial setup process of Learning Pool Platform a bit complicated due to the need for customization. Additionally, the LMS doesn't meet all my reporting needs, necessitating the use of additional software like LearningLocker to fill in the gaps. I'm not entirely confident in recommending the LMS itself, as it seems less appealing compared to the LXP. Furthermore, I would like to see improvements in the social learning tools offered by the LMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Events management is much more user friendly on the LXP, clearer to the user what events are being held compared to the LMS

I like the general interface and UI of the site, it’s much more attractive than the LMS.

The LXP isn’t a central point of call that controls all elements eg deleting or suspending a user doesn’t stop emails going to their account

Analytics has a lot of potential but there’s lots of filters and tweaking involved to get the right data which gives a lack of trust in the data. Reporting was more robust in the LMS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ease of use, customer support available and usually quick to respond, comfortable interface, reporting capabilities, the ability to create the reports I need, schedule reports internally and externally, create and manage audiences, send bulk email communications, customise its appearance, and remix dashboards... and there’s still more to discover!. We have had some significant issues in the past with the LMS not communicating correctly with the LRS. While Learning Pool has put good measures in place to prevent this from happening again, we cannot help but feel a bit 'nervous'—there is always a concern that the system is a bit fragile and this could happen again. Both we and our LMS users frequently encounter the 'LRS not available' message, which is understandably frustrating for them. We check the platform, and most of the time, there is no issue, but this means their learning is not being recorded, or they cannot proceed, and they have to redo the learning. We sometimes receive the same message ourselves, despite having a good Wi-Fi connection. We usually tell users, as per Learning Pool’s advice, that their Wi-Fi connection may be the root cause, but this 'LRS not available' message should not appear so often, if at all. I joined my company 1.5 months ago, after a few years in the industry using more LXP style LMS platforms and In this time I've recieved support from Learning Pool in getting me up to speed with the product. It's currently difficult for me to comment on functionality, however the responsiveness from the technical team and direct support has been great for me. I've spoken directly with Paddy McGuiness a few times and after my first interaction he gave me his direct email to query anything that I was finding sticky. I find the LMS not to be as user friendly as previous platforms I have used. Our renewal is next year and I'm looking forward to trialling the LXP as from the offset it seems far more streamlined and accessible as a first time user that needs to be able to hit the ground running from an administrative POV. We’ve been using Learning Pool at Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, and it’s been excellent. The platform is really flexible and we’ve been able to take it far beyond a standard LMS. With support from the Learning Pool team, we’ve adapted it to record firefighter competencies for risk-critical training and then extract the data to create reports that support performance and assurance.

It’s not something we’ve seen achieved elsewhere, and it’s made a real difference to how we manage and track learning across the organisation. The platform is reliable, adaptable, and the team at Learning Pool have been great to work with throughout.

Learning Pool provides 'off the shelf' training, covering a wide variety of topics - but the best part is the ability to tailor this to meet the needs of your firm, and to add branding so that employees feel like they are taking training relevant to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Depending on the elements used within any given course, these can be tricky to update in-house and it would be useful to have more contact from Learning Pool (e.g. annual meeting with customer service manager). I found Learning Pool - Platform really easy to use and the customer support is phenomenal. They are incredibly responsive to queries, which makes daily operations efficient. The redesign of our LMS system was smooth and well-received thanks to their support. The ability to simplify dashboard layouts and improve user experience has been a game-changer for our organization. It's particularly beneficial for our on-call firefighters, allowing them to manage their learning within limited time frames. I have struggled with the reporting side of things. Our firefighters often have multiple roles and managers, which complicates the hierarchy within the platform. This has posed challenges in effectively managing and extracting completion data. While we’ve had a positive experience, there are a couple of areas for improvement. Customisation options, particularly around reporting and layout, could be more flexible.
