The fact of not being able to separate the files before generating a backup link.

We have a big internal problem with former employees requesting backups of personal data, keepit helps us a lot with this demand due to the ease of generating a link for these former employees to download the files.

The console interface could be more user-friendly. Some configurations are not intuitive, making navigation and setup more complex than expected

I use Keepit for backing up the entire Microsoft 365 environment, including Power BI and Salesforce. I also plan to use it for Azure DevOps to ensure full data protection.
Keepit helps me recover deleted files efficiently and ensures compliance with security regulations that require maintaining backups of the environment. This provides peace of mind and enhances data protection.

**What do you like best about Keepit?**

Keepit is a solid backup solution that paves over all the gaps native Microsoft O365 backup leaves behind. You can backup your Office 365 Suite (Exchange, Sharepoint, OneDrive) incrementally and keep as much of it as you like since they throw unlimited storage at you. Setting up the jobs is easy as well, with a few clicks inside your O365 admin console and away you go, with an intuitive interface enough interface that populates within an hour or two from sign-up. Support has been good as well, and are very responsive, i.e. you'll usually get an answer in a couple of hours if you write in. If and when you do have to restore anything from backup, the options for outputting said recovery data are flexible-- I believe I've been presented with the option to restore an entire mailbox to a point-in-time, recover just a selection of mailbox/onedrive/sharepoint items, to generating a .PST and downloading it locally for safekeeping-- awesome! Oh, and for what it does, the price is very keen. You won't have to haggle with managers or owners to justify Keepit's implementation. Very good product from a world-class company.

**What do you dislike about Keepit?**

The only problems I've come across are in the somewhat Byzantine ordering and renewal process as an MSP. Maybe it's just me, but I seemed to have to communicate quite a lot back and forth with an inside sales rep to renew for a year, which, after all that, ended up happening automatically anyway, so I'm not sure why we had to fuss.

**What problems is Keepit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keepit covers the spread for anything above and beyond what the native Microsoft Office 365 backup does not cover, so, anything over 90-days of retention, and the flexibility of recovering data how you like. Microsoft does not offer the type of flexibility required of a shop needing granular backup and recovery of the full Office 365 suite.

The direct Sales offers „special“ prices that are higher then resellers prices. And if I request a quote from the reseller, they don‘t get an offer from the Keepit Sales Team.

You don't need to provide your own storage, it's completely cloud based. It's a setup and forget kind of process, easy to setup and once it's set up, it rarely fails. Customer support is awesome as they also keep on adding new features every few months.

Restores take more time then if your data was backupped on premise

We use keepit as a backup solution for Microsoft 365, Salesforce and Entra ID. As it's easy to maintain it saves me a lot of time compared to previous solutions i've used.

KeepIT is keeping  step with modern technology. Solution is very user friendy and simple to implement it. Configuration is simple and it can be done in minutes. We have all backups accesible 24/7 and if we need some restores, it us about few clicks. You can restore one file, email or entire Sharepoint site. I already saw some other kinds of similar solutions, but working with KeepIT is very pleasant. Support is useful when you need them. We don't use it often, but when we need something from backup we had no problem so far. I can only recommend it.

I have nothing to dislike about KeepIT. It does what I need and it does it very well.

It helps me to sleep well, because I don't need to be scare, that some important data could be loss. That's the purpose and logical benefit.

**What do you like best about Keepit?**

Mostly it's just a case of switching it on and it 'just works': M365, D365, Entra ID etc.  It just gets on with its job and rarely asks for any attention: exactly how backups should be!  Plus the retention period is excellent, as is customer support.

**What do you dislike about Keepit?**

The restore interface isn't entirely intuitive.  For example, doing a forensic mailbox search would ideally be similar to the Outlook experience, so that non-IT people could use it without training.

**What problems is Keepit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accidental/deliberate data loss/corruption - solved by retention periods and versioning.
Off-site and off-shore backup - solved by being in a different DC and country.

**What do you like best about Keepit?**

When we were looking into solutions for the back-up of our Microsoft365 tenant, Keepit came out on top. All the nescessary features such as single-item-restore for mailboxitems and single sign-on are present. More advanced features such as restoring a complete Team or Sharepoint site work better than in products of other vendors which often mess up the lay-outs  when restoring. As the solution is cloud based and the price per seat is very reasonable, the total cost of ownership is lower than the compatitors we examined. 

Besides that, Keepit has some nice features that other back-up applications don't have. P.e. back-up operators can create a link to a small portion of the back-up (p.e. a specific folder in a users OneDrive) so endusers can locate missing files themselves. This link can be password protected and have a limited lifetime. Also it is possible to create a limited lifetime account for an auditor.

**What do you dislike about Keepit?**

There are two drawbacks when using Keepit. The application can only send reports to emailadresses of Keepit users. So it is, security-wise, impracticle to send reports to distributiongroups or shared mailboxes.
The other is more a nuisance than an issue: usernames are case sensitive so when using Single Sign-on, the usernames must match exactly what is entered in the idp and users must also use the correct case when logging-in.

Keepit makes sure we have a reliable back-up so when data is lost we can restore it. This improves the continuity of our business.

You can either restore items yourself, or send secured links to the endusers so they can restore items without your help.

Since I do not use the website on a daily basis, sometimes I have to search for how to restore items from a mailbox.
Downloading one or more mail messages can only be done in .eml format. Not in pst.
If you have many mail items, eml is harder to import to Outlook.

KeepIT makes sure that our data is secured and stored on a different location, without us having to worry about hardware or infrastructure.

Keepit is not good at promoting themselves or telling about new stuff, features and the like. We hear nothing at long periods, and this has been a problem from the beginning 5 years ago.

Some of the latest updates has not been tested good enough.

The best thing about Keepit is its simplicity.  The solution is swift to deploy and extremely straightforward to manage. It doesn't require maintenance or constant monitoring, it is a deploy-and-forget solution

I can't say there is a Keepit feature that I dislike.  The only feature that is missing, and I consider it to be helpful, is the ability to download the mailbox in a pst format instead of a zip file containing the eml files.

Keepit SaaS backup offers granulated backup and restore every 12 hrs.  It also offers 1-year retention on the snapshots, and the customer can restore any single item contained in the snapshot either locally or back in the 365 environment.   Microsoft 365 native backup runs every 24 hrs, and you can only restore the snapshot as a whole.

Well, havent actually found any drawbacks so far. Maybe to name something, when using Teams back up, there pops up a user called "Backup service" or whatever you decide to name it, in every Team. Could be confusing to an extent.
