What do you dislike about ClickUp?
The main area where I think ClickUp could improve is performance, particularly with the desktop application. I occasionally experience lag or slower loading when moving between different sections or working with larger or more complex projects. It does not prevent us from using the platform, but improving responsiveness would make the experience noticeably better.
Because ClickUp has so many features, there is also a learning curve when you first start exploring the platform. The onboarding itself is easy, but understanding which features, views, automations, and integrations are most useful for your particular workflow takes some time.
I would also like to see continued improvements in how some of the AI capabilities are integrated into everyday workflows so they feel even more naturally connected to the tasks and projects we are already managing.
These are relatively minor issues for us. The overall functionality, flexibility, and productivity benefits still outweigh the drawbacks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recommendations to others considering ClickUp:
To enhance the ClickUp experience, I recommend focusing on improving the performance of the desktop application to ensure smoother transitions and faster loading times. Additionally, providing more intuitive guides or tutorials could help new users navigate the platform's extensive features more efficiently.
Continuing to refine the integration of AI capabilities into everyday workflows will also be beneficial, making them feel more seamlessly connected to existing tasks and projects. This could enhance user experience and productivity.
Lastly, maintaining a strong support system and regularly updating the platform based on user feedback will ensure that ClickUp continues to meet the evolving needs of its users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is ClickUp solving and how is that benefiting you?
ClickUp primarily solves the problem of fragmented project and task management for our team. Instead of managing tasks, documentation, project timelines, and team responsibilities across several separate systems, we can bring most of that work together in one workspace.
We use it for creating and assigning tasks, breaking larger projects into subtasks, setting priorities, tracking progress, documenting information in Docs, and planning projects through Gantt charts. The integrations also help connect ClickUp with other tools in our workflow, which reduces the need to manually move information between platforms.
The biggest operational benefit is visibility. Everyone can see what needs to be done, who is responsible, what the priority is, and where a project currently stands. This reduces follow-ups and makes it easier to execute planned work.
From a cost and ROI perspective, the value comes from consolidating several workflows into one platform. Rather than paying for and switching between multiple tools for task management, documentation, and project planning, ClickUp gives us much of that functionality in one place. The time saved through better organization and reduced tool switching makes it worthwhile for our team.
The combination of its UI, integrations, project-management features, AI capabilities, and relatively quick onboarding has made it a useful part of our day-to-day workflow. Support and the available onboarding resources are also helpful when we need to understand or configure a feature we have not used before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
