Not only does the WordPress plugin they provided us not work, they have flat out refused to fix the problem and claimed that we designed it and must fix it ourselves. Customer service is byzantine and inevitably ends with them simply repeating the problem back to us and marking the issue as resolved. A truly maddening company, extremely difficult to work with. What do you like best about Chargebee?

I've been using Chargebee for a few months now and I found it very easy and intuitive. It offers a lot of flexibility in subscription plans, pricing, automating billing and payments, and the integrations. It almost never requires any manual intervention. You can create plans with flat, tiered or flexible pricing which really helps. I particularly found the integration with our analytics tool very useful. I found the tool very intuitive but as someone new in the field, their AI chatbot is a life saver. I almost never have to reach out to customer support as I get the answers from the chatbot itself. Unlike other chatbots, it doesn't just have pre-fed automated responses, which actually makes it useful. The customer support is also really nice and is very instant. And they are also very helpful and will send the information via email if you cannot be present for a chat. It can also handle international taxes very well and we don't have a lot to worry about it. What do you dislike about Chargebee?

There are some features that are locked behind a more expensive plan. For example, if you have an existing tiered plan with price A as flat for let's say 10 units and price B for more units, and you want to add a custom price C instead of B while creating a new subscription, then you can not type in the price manually. You can add a discount or you might just have to create a new plan first. There are workarounds for issues like this but this seems like a basic feature that should be available for all of Chargebee's plans. Also the chatbot isn't aware of the plan you are on and might suggest solutions that would work only on the best plan from Chargebee. You can, however let it know the plan you're on and then you get the appropriate recommendations.

They have also launched a new product catalogue which might fix some issues like this but I didn't get a chance to try it yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We recently transitioned from Recurly to Chargebee and, even though we're still in the early stages of setting things up, our experience has already improved. With Recurly, support was frustratingly slow; issues were rarely resolved quickly, and starting a chat usually meant waiting for a follow-up by email. In contrast, my experience with Chargebee has been much smoother. We had a problem with TikTok launching our chargebee pages that required some urgency to resolve. Even though we are likely a small customer for them, the support team recognized the urgency and importance to our business and helped us get to the bottom of the issue quickly. Sometimes when we ask Chargebee a detailed question (not a support ticket) the immediate response is to schedule a meeting where we need to reiterate the question to get the ball actually rolling. Now I understand they want to make sure they clarify the question, which makes sense, but sometimes I think we could skip the first meeting and get into the details of the question right away. We are pretty good at trying to understand the product in detail before we ask a question, so the benefit of the doubt could be given. Not a big deal, but something to understand. Some of the technical limitations we’ve encountered are likely common to most subscription management tools, but they can occasionally require workarounds. The coupon system, for example, could be a bit more advanced and flexible.

It is not very clear when it comes to upload old invoices, information of errors are not well explain, it does not help to be autonomous. There are fields which are optional but at the end they mandatory.. It's confusing, mostly when I fixed one issue and get to fix another

It is impossible to back dated an invoice on a subscription which started earlier but created later after the subscription itself.

The Add Charge : it is impossible to add more lines items and no draft view are proposed, same on Create Quick Charge, invoices are created directly without proposing to be in the Add to unbilled charges section

Recently, we tried to migrate to QuickBooks, and let me tell you, it was an abomination. During those weeks, I have never missed a software like I missed Chargebee.

We are a high-risk business in the US and sometimes face legal and administrative issues because of this. However, Chargebee has made our life easier. You can collect a payment in seconds, and they don't judge you.

The payment collection features and tax adherence are top-notch compared to other software, like QuickBooks Payments. You don't have to recreate a subscription to add taxes. It will just modify the subscription you have. This is great to save time and for businesses who have little experience in US taxing.

Another thing that is great is their customer support team. When they respond, they send a how-to video. Not all customer services reps do that.
