**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

Recently, we tried to migrate to QuickBooks, and let me tell you, it was an abomination. During those weeks, I have never missed a software like I missed Chargebee.

We are a high-risk business in the US and sometimes face legal and administrative issues because of this. However, Chargebee has made our life easier. You can collect a payment in seconds, and they don't judge you. 

The payment collection features and tax adherence are top-notch compared to other software, like QuickBooks Payments. You don't have to recreate a subscription to add taxes. It will just modify the subscription you have. This is great to save time and for businesses who have little experience in US taxing.

Another thing that is great is their customer support team. When they respond, they send a how-to video. Not all customer services reps do that.

They've saved us countless hours of administrative work. Thank you so much!!!!

Like instead of Upfront cost a pay as you go model like per transaction cost will increase ChargeBee audibility will be increased compared to fixed upfront fees and it helps instant revenue for every single transaction that made by user

What I like best about Chargebee is how effortlessly it allows you to manage subscriptions without adding unnecessary overhead. There isn’t much to dislike, it overall meets expectations well.

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

Chargebee makes it easy to update a subscription by doing the proration calculations for you.  It's easy to add one time charges with separate invoices.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

Many options can only be used globally instead of on a case by case basis.   Refunds can take multiple steps.  Reporting revenue is lacking.  Support doesn't always know the answers when you have problems.  The search feature needs to be more refined.  You can't edit an item description on an invoice.  I would like to be able to see all email addresses sent an invoice on the email log without having to run a report.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chargebee is still working on the revenue reporting which isn't accurate on our end and has to be done manually. We are forced to shut down any billing the first of the month so the manual work can be done.

Data accuracy is a bit concerning. We’re seeing multiple subscription events stamped with the same timestamp, which makes it difficult to determine the most up-to-date status of the subscription.

We can set up multiple plans, apply coupons, handle renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and even failed payments — all in one place. It’s reliable, customizable, and helps us automate a lot of the repetitive tasks. Coupon creation and editing is easy as that

Things like tax settings, custom fields, or integrating with multiple platforms have a slight learning curve. It would also be great to have more flexibility in customizing the checkout and hosted pages without needing a developer. Customer support is pretty unrelaiable

I’ve been using Chargebee for almost 3 years now and have found it really helpful for managing invoicing and subscriptions for our customers. What stands out most to me is the customer support - I was genuinely impressed by how responsive the team was to a minor bug I reported, and how thoroughly they worked to resolve it!

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

After almost 3 years of using it, I still find some parts of the interface a bit confusing. For example, I can easily add a note section to quotes, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do the same for invoices - which would be really helpful.

Chargebee helps us manage customer subscriptions and invoicing in a structured way, which saves a lot of time and reduces manual work. It also gives us a clear overview of renewals, seat changes, and billing history

In the top of the main dashboard under "Revenue this month" I can find Expected Received and Last month amounts. Still Expected is not clickable and cannot drill in to see the split of the expected revenue from clients, while the same drill in and split is available for Received and Last Month

What I appreciate most is the platform's comprehensive subscription management capabilities. Having all billing data, subscription statuses, and payment histories centralized in one place makes it much easier for me to understand customer account health and identify opportunities for upgrades or renewals.
The integration capabilities are excellent - particularly the seamless connection with our customer support tools like Intercom. This integration allows me to access critical billing information directly during customer conversations, which is essential when discussing subscription changes, addressing billing concerns, or timing upgrade proposals effectively.
The automated billing processes have significantly reduced manual work for our team while maintaining accuracy. Customers receive consistent, professional billing communications, and I can focus on strategic customer success activities rather than administrative billing tasks.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

While Chargebee generally meets our needs effectively, there are a few areas where I'd appreciate improvements:
The user interface, while functional, can sometimes feel complex when navigating between different sections. A more streamlined interface would help speed up daily tasks, especially when quickly looking up customer information during live conversations.
Occasionally, some of the more advanced reporting features require a learning curve to set up properly, and it would be helpful to have more intuitive report building tools for users who need quick insights without extensive configuration.
The customer portal customization options, while adequate, could offer more flexibility to better match our brand experience and provide customers with more self-service capabilities.
Overall, these are relatively minor concerns that don't significantly impact the platform's core value for our subscription management needs.

Manual Billing Complexity: Before Chargebee, managing different subscription tiers, billing cycles, and pricing changes was time-consuming and error-prone. Chargebee automates these processes, ensuring accurate billing and freeing me to focus on customer relationship building rather than administrative tasks.
Lack of Subscription Visibility: Previously, I had limited insight into customer billing patterns, payment issues, or subscription health. Chargebee provides comprehensive dashboards that help me identify at-risk accounts, upcoming renewals, and upgrade opportunities proactively.

I find the reporting catastrophic. I needed help for basic reporting, and you need to pay $299/month extra just to have a basic report of your customers' payments and add-ons information.

I love Chargebee's user-friendly UI and its ability to make changes to subscriptions and payments easily. The way they make all information available makes the process smooth and efficient. Billing becomes simple and easy to edit and review. The initial setup was easy, and I feel confident in recommending it with a score of 10 out of 10.

They can work more in Trailing subscription section. To have payment options between trial period.

I appreciate the flexibility of payment gateways and addons on the plans, as it allows me to have multiple options and manage everything with smart routing. The multiple management of subscriptions by platform with total flexibility is also an asset. The initial setup of Chargebee was much easier than PayPal, and I really liked that.

Easy to navigate - great help articles when you're a little bit stuck on something. Great experiences when I had a technical issue. The support was friendly, genuine, and super efficient. Really impressed with the service.

What I like about Chargebee is, of course, what you can do with it (although I still have a lot to discover :) ), and especially how quick, responsive and proactive the support team is. I always receive a clear answer very quickly.

Personally, I find it an enjoyable and important tool. The only downside is the pricing. As a start-up, this is a significant cost for us. However, my team members and I are satisfied with what we are able to do with it

I love how customizable Chargebee is. It's scalable to any size business and can do pretty much anything you imagine.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

The instructions for implementation leave out so many steps that I have to google instructions or put them through A.I. Completely counter-intuitive. I also wish one-time purchases and physical add-ons were easier to implement in this system, particularly when it comes to something like apparel that has one item but multiple sizes and styles.

We needed to put WordPress content behind a paywall, and make the entire operation PCI compliant. Chargebee has supplied the plugin to do that and handle the financial aspects of subscriptions.

I love the support team at Chargebee! Whenever we've had questions about how to use the platform, we get an almost immediate response with applicable resolutions. I also find the email notification center useful for reminding customers to update payment methods and about upcoming renewals.

Feels like i can provide an enterprise-grade billing experience to my clients even though i am a small business. The level of customisation achievable is excellent and i always know that once my subscriptions are set up correctly, bills and emails will always go out correctly, and they always deliver (which is important in todays  anti-spam email filter world)

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

The level of customisation achievable is excellent however some times in can be overly complex for my needs and i get myself tied up in knots, needing a call with support to set non-standard items up for me. Support staff are hit and miss.
Bhaskar Anand, from the Solutions Team cares a lot and is a deep expert on chargebee with great judgement/common sense. Ask for Bhaskar :)

Reports module went through a revamp and its a little difficult and 'salesforce'y to get the right kind of data and reports out from the platform.

Customising and offering options for customers to pay, and also exporting transaction data via Zapier to CRMs like Airtable so the wider team has access to Finance info without getting into the control environment.

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

Chargebee’s dunning is what I like best of all. It has allowed me to set up automatic customized email reminders when our customers’ card payments fail, with systematic retries.  The configurable email templates and dunning settings has meant that I have been able to fine-tune the dunning process and consequently save considerable time chasing up customers when their card payments decline for whatever reason.

Apart from the dunning feature, I have found Chargebee to be pretty intuitive to use, with good documentation and some helpful support. I recently received  clear and helpful advice from their Support team in regards to the payment failure messages returned by the payment gateway that we use.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

Chargebee provides a TEST site in addition to a LIVE site, where it’s possible to test various different scenarios, and push test configurations to the live environment.  That’s great but it’d be helpful if  Chargebee provided more “test credit cards” where you could simulate different payment failure scenarios like expired cards, suspected fraud, etc.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software company that I work for has been using Chargebee since 2017 and its been a lifesaver with managing the monthly subscription billing for our Cloud/SaaS product.  

I realise that there’s many advanced features in Chargebee that we haven’t yet tapped into, and their monthly newsletter has highlighted some that could benefit us.

As a software developer integrating Chargebee for the Netherlands, I appreciate how well it handles our monthly and yearly subscriptions, especially with IDEAL support. The webhook documentation is generally well-structured, making it easier to integrate with our system.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

The documentation for the Consulting API seems outdated—I’ve never seen the pattern they use before, making integration less intuitive. Additionally, the lack of an installment solution at the product level is a major limitation. Currently, installments are only available at the invoice level, requiring a workaround to update the payment type after the invoice is generated. This adds unnecessary complexity and makes managing installment-based subscriptions more difficult than it should be.
