**What do you like best about BrightHR?**

I use Bright HR as part of my company. We’re assigned all the training as part of compliance, and I can check all of my paperwork there as well. I can also apply for different kinds of leave on it, and view my working hours, my rota, and my previous days off. It lets me check in and check out too, so my company knows what time I arrived at the office and when I left, because all the check-ins and check-outs include the location. I can use it both on my laptop or my phone as an app or website so it's super smooth.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

I think that if it were connected to the inventory app or system, which is mostly used in school and educational settings to log attendance, it would have been easier to integrate at my school.

**What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of having my documents, attendance, and absences spread across different apps, I can, as an employee, manage everything in one place. Having both the app and the website version also helps, and the mobile and laptop experience is super quick to use. The syncing is amazing too, which means I never have to worry about not submitting a time-off request or losing track of my documents, rotas, or shifts. Basically, nothing goes missing.

**What do you like best about BrightHR?**

I like using BrightHR mainly for core HR functions like maintaining employee records and managing absentees. I love that it's highly accurate compared to other software and provides a lot of metrics, which can help improve accuracy. What I like the most is its user-friendly UI and UX, making it super easy and smooth to use. It's also highly adaptable and can easily manage big data sets, and I appreciate the dashboards that cover every required metric. The initial setup and learning process is kind of easy, making the overall experience great.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

I feel it kinda lacks in depth in terms of analysis and it's a bit sort of costly. Instead of providing monthly reports, it should provide reports on a real-time basis and have a customization section.

**What do you like best about BrightHR?**

I really love BrightHR for its streamline shift and rota planning, which makes scheduling interviews and meetings so much better than any calendar apps or platforms we've used. I also appreciate their UI and overall experience. Time and attendance are features I like too, as they're closely related to the shift planning functionality. The signup user journey was really easy and smooth, without too many forms during onboarding.

I feel like document storage could be improved, not in terms of capacity or size but the overall experience. I may be nitpicking because I use Google Drive a lot but I think there's room for improvement definitely mainly in terms of the document viewer. Because that could be very intuitive.

**What do you like best about BrightHR?**

I appreciate how BrightHR simplifies day-to-day HR work without overcomplicating things, especially for a German SME. It brings time tracking, holiday requests, absence management, and employee documentation into one clean platform, so we don’t have to juggle spreadsheets, emails, and separate tools anymore. The biggest win for us is the usability; our team picked up the clock-in, leave booking, and overview features really quickly, even those who aren’t especially tech-focused. BrightHR takes a lot of stress out of compliance with working-time rules by automatically tracking hours, overtime, and leave in line with local requirements. The initial setup was straightforward and relatively fast, which made onboarding new staff easy even for those not tech-savvy.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

The user interface is clear, but some reporting features feel limited: we can’t fully customize export fields or create company-specific compliance reports without extra work. Integrations with our existing payroll and accounting software are possible, but the setup was more hands-on than expected, and the sync isn’t always real-time. We really need more flexible, customizable report builder tools for German compliance and internal reviews. We’re limited to pre-built templates, so we often have to export raw data and manually clean it up in Excel to create reports. It would be a huge improvement if we could save custom report templates, automate monthly compliance exports, and get more granular filtering.

I like how BrightHR turns disorganized, stressful HR admin into something simple, reliable, and almost effortless—all in one platform without being overly complicated. The leave and absence management feature really stands out for us. Employees can request holiday, sick leave, or remote work through the app; managers get instant notifications to approve or decline, and everything updates automatically with accurate accrual tracking. It’s clean, intuitive, and saves hours every week. The visibility provided by a centralized, self-service system, where employees can check their remaining holiday allowance and submit requests, and managers can see the team's availability on a single calendar, makes scheduling and daily operations much smoother. BrightHR has completely eliminated our biggest operational headaches with scheduling, staffing, and miscommunication. I also found the initial setup surprisingly straightforward and simpler than expected.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

The mobile app is functional, but it can feel slow or limited compared to the desktop version; some actions that are easy on a computer take extra steps or aren’t available on mobile at all. First, we’d love to see full managerial functionality on mobile. Right now, some approval workflows, team absence insights, and document-reviewing tasks are only available on desktop. Managers shouldn’t have to wait until they’re at a computer to handle urgent requests or view team availability. Second, the app could be more responsive and reliable. We’ve noticed occasional slow loading times, especially when opening the team calendar or viewing employee records. A faster, more stable experience would encourage the team to use it daily instead of defaulting to email or desktop.

BrightHR centralizes our HR tasks, solving daily admin headaches by eliminating spreadsheet chaos in leave management. **What do you like best about BrightHR?**

I really appreciate BrightHR's automated US federal and state-specific labor law compliance. It's the ultimate risk mitigator for us and integrates real-time, up-to-date US labor laws into scheduling, time/attendance, overtime, breaks, PTO, and record-keeping, automating compliance seamlessly without manual input. This feature eliminates the biggest risk of accidental non-compliance with FLSA, state meal/break rules, overtime thresholds, or record-keeping mandates. With BrightHR, I no longer spend endless hours on manual rule tracking or worry about human error leading to non-compliance. The initial setup was incredibly streamlined and optimized for our US retail operation. We had a compliance-ready, fully functional workforce management platform up and running in just three business days, which was impressive, especially given we onboarded eight geographically dispersed US store locations.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

BrightHR’s scheduler has basic 'template' features for holidays, but it can’t tie scheduling to real-time retail demand data, or auto-suggest extra shifts during peak times. We have to manually cross-reference Intershop BOPIS data with BrightHR schedules to add extra shifts, which is a time-consuming process that often leads to last-minute understaffing.

I use BrightHR for eliminating fragmented scheduling chaos and mitigating US labor law compliance risks. It automates federal and state-specific compliance, reducing manual rule-tracking and human error. The system is very straightforward — employees can request leave and log attendance through the app, and managers can approve or track everything in seconds. It has really simplified HR admin. It saves a lot of time by centralising staff data, attendance, and holiday management. The reporting features are helpful for tracking patterns, and it reduces errors compared to manual spreadsheets.

Some features feel a little basic, and at times the system can run slowly. There are also occasional limitations when customising reports. The mobile app could be more user-friendly, and notifications can be inconsistent. Smaller updates or tweaks sometimes take longer to implement.

I like BrightHR because they consistently improve and develop their software. It’s clear they listen to customer feedback, and the system just keeps getting better. It does everything I need it to – from managing staff holidays and sickness to keeping important HR documents in one place. It’s easy to use and saves me a lot of time.

There’s not much to dislike, but occasionally some updates take a bit of getting used to – but overall, the improvements are worth it, and support is always available if needed.

BrightHR has really simplified our HR processes. It’s helped us keep on top of staff holidays, sickness, rotas, timesheets, and even payroll. The employee handbook is a good starting point. The clock in feature is simple and the expense feature is great.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

The calendar feature does not have GPS for service workers, the clock in feature does not have an adequate mapping feature nor auto clock out. The sales pitch had custom policies - not what is actually provided. The apps for clocking in and expenses are great, but having multiple apps is a bit of a pain. Had I been able to play around with this system first I would not have signed up for it. Customer support is meh at best. Don't bother putting in a ticket on the system, it just goes into the system and you have to follow up multiple times. Chat function? only makes you leave an email ticket.

At this point it really only helps us with mileage.

The platform is very simple to navigate, we were able to onboard our team very quickly with minimal training and review. Their support is fantastic and as you onboard you are able to join weekly sessions to ensure that you're correctly setting everything up. The Elearning, the documents and BrightBase with all of the applicable policies are amazing. Very easy to adopt policies you may be missing.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

I would love if the Payroll module worked in Canada and we could move over completely to BrightHR's system. I do wish that the expenses were able to connect to corporate Credit Cards or there was a way to code an expense as personal or corporate.

One of our senior team members was performing the HR role before and as she retired we needed a platform that would enable us to integrate safety, HR, policies, etc all in one place.

What I appreciate most about BrightHR is its ability to simplify and streamline essential HR processes. The ease of keeping track. As a manager, I am able to keep track of my department and make sure they're all upto date on documents, leave and clocking in. Integrations with other apps like blip is great and seamless. The interface makes it very easy to use as well.

Before Bright HR, we were keeping track of staff annual leave via our Google Calendars. Now it's our one stop shop for everything HR. From managing leave requests, to checking office availability, and housing important occupational documents.

Basic system if you just want to record HR stuff - no thrills and out of the box

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

This company tow the line of ethical business practice and should be avoided at all costs, especially if you are a small business. My PA signed us up many years ago and now i'm no longer in need of their (tbh basic HR system) they inform me that a 60 MONTH contract was signed. Digging online it seems this is their sales tactic, no mention of it and getting people to sign + will only cancel if 80% of the contract remainder is paid. It's funny as it took 2 weeks to get in contact with anyone to cancel, as they make it impossible to find a way to contact. However during my time with Bright HR I received upsell calls daily and despite telling the team my situation on wanting to leave i've received harrasment calls from the finance team 5+ times a day to the point they filled my voicemail. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Zero as I made my team redundant and am no longer using the product, and they are trying to charge me 80% of the remaining 60 months?!!? contract, when there is no mention of the contract being 60 months made in sales pitches, or comms. It's a deplorable underhand business model that staff are told to wheel out, and no wonder their reviews on glassdoor for working there are disgusting too.

We really benefit from receiving feedback on existing policy documents, however this has been really hard to access. I have requested appointments multiple times and I never seem to get a call back at the time I ask for. Even if I give a generous timeframe, I still don't get a call on time. I often have to follow up with the service too. This doesn't work well with my schedule as I work with clients so cannot answer the phone at any time. it would be helpful if the advice appointment feature was actually adhered to.

**What do you like best about BrightHR?**

BrightHR was simple and easy to implement and to integrate into our business. The training provided was crucial to give a full understanding of the system, this took approx. 2 hours.
We had over 300 employee and no HR!! 30% of our staff did not have employment contracts, we had just been in administration and then through TUPE to the new company. It was a mess. 
Bright HR to the rescue, they put together employment contract templates for full time, part time and Term Time only staff. This allowed via mail merge to create contracts for each employee. 
A template was provided by BrightHR  in excel format capturing name, addresses, start date, date of birth, next of kin, job title etc. Once completed this was imported into the system, saving time and ensuring quality of data.
Once the data was imported, staff were invited, and this allowed them to add any additional information. 
Managers were all given their staff contracts, and these were uploaded to the system, where staff signed off their new employment contracts. 
Going forward staff were able to request holiday and any other time off and before approval manager would get notification if there was any conflict.
All promotions / disciplinary’s were also uploaded, so a full HR file was available for each employee. 
Issuing or updating companywide documents like staff handbooks was done in minutes, simply upload and issue to all staff. 
Staff confidential information remained confidential with only managers see their own staff documentation.
This system was used daily  and any issues cyustomer support was just a phone call away.

Shift pattern need to be more flexible. 
As our staff reduced the pricing remained high.

This was a perfect visual assistance which made my job easier.  I highly recommend  this service.

This platform has everything all in one place. I find the document section very useful for storing information as well as employees personal details and employment information. BrightHR helps me to keep all HR tasks in one place. It takes the pressure out of holiday requests and is easy to use. All the apps mean that our team can have their own individiual link and seperate documentation portals means that we can keep hidden HR documents (and things we are working on) seperate from the rest of the team. ​​​​Samuel Lambrou was really helpful in providing onboarding training and took the time to explain how functions worked. He also introduced me to services I didn't know about and correct mistakes I was making on setting things up. We launched the service to our team shortly after our meeting and are so much happier for having it as a resource, place to gain HR advice and general office tidier (goodbye dog-eared policy folder!) I'm sure we will use it a lot more in the future.

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

It would be helpful to know the prices of additions to our packages so we can consider whether it is something we'd want to bolt on. I wouldn't say it's a dislike though-just a suggestion!

The desktop version of BrightHR and their other sites (Bright Safe etc) are really user friendly, simple and easy to use. Most of the sections are pretty self explanatory and if something isn't 100% obviously clear, there are usually helpful little excalmation marks that will provide you with the info you need. 

My on board training today was wit Niqua. Both times i have spoken to her have been pleasant and informative. She clearly knows what she is doing and is very helpful indeed! - Thank you Niqua.

The Bright app's really let the who experience down (with the exception of the BLIP app - its great) 
It's no where near as user friendly and you don't have quite so much access - some of the features aren't available on the app. 

Some of the staff are finding the rotas a little difficult but this I'm sure will change within time as they are used to using a different software.

**What do you like best about BrightHR?**

BrightHR has a range of functions that make keeping track of all things employee related simple and straightforward. In addtion to staff being able to log and request their annual leave easily, I can also track absence and reasons for it from one easy portal, and run reports to check for exceptions and anomalies.

Samuel Lambrou showed me how to maximise the document function within the platform as well which has provided a perfect solution for us in terms of where to keep forms staff need access to less regularly e.g. eye test claims (we all end up spending ages trying to find it in the online file library!). Add in the e-learning as well and it's much more than just a staff database!

**What do you dislike about BrightHR?**

I can't think of anything at present that I dislike about BrightHR - so far it's doing what I need it to do!

**What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned previously, BrightHR allows for easy tracking of annual leave entitlement and booking, along with absence reporting for sickness and other reasons. We will now be making more use of addtional features such as the document library and e-learning assignments as well.

Everyone at Bright HR and Bright Safe have been so helpful and patient. We have over 50 volunteers and won't use parts of the HR set-up. Then team have been excellent in helping us to get the most out of system. I can't believe how patient Hanaan has been whilst helping me set-up everything.

I would like there to be an easier  volunteer default that automatically disregards some aspects of employee stats.

This is more a problem from our side than with Bright, as we are inundated with work and have found it difficult to create the headspace to get the staff all set up on the system and start benefitting from all the functionality it has to offer, however, we are slowwwly getting there.

It was easy to use with minimum training - from set up to going live was a breeze.  Employees found it easy to use too which is a bonus.  Controlled distribution of policies and employee handbook showing who has read them is a plus.

Had a great onboarding experience recently with Mark Moffatt. He was very good at explaining the system's functionality and how to adapt it to suit our firm's needs. He suggested some improvements to how we were planning to use it, which we have now adopted.

No downsides so far; it looks as if the system does a lot of the heavy lifting for us, which is exactly what we need from this tool.

I had the onboarding experience with Luis Enereh, who was terrific and could explain everything and answer all the questions my colleagues and I had asked. He was very patient although being on a tight time schedule and even went out to send us the needed webinars.

Did not have enough time to go through all the details for the brightHR apps that were available to us. Book in a bit more time or for us to go through how to use the apps that are integrated with BrightHR.
