The fact that the app is linked to it, it means that I can access Bright HR anywhere. When I have got stuck, the support has been quick and helpful. It's always reliable and never have any issues with it. The detail on profiles is good as it has all the employment info to hand which we never used to have. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** On the phone, having to use Pop seems unnecessary and would be better all combined in a single app. Being able to rearrange or customize the left-hand toolbar would make this better as we don't use some of the icons, such as rotas and shifts. The e-learning suite seems basic and not that broad or comprehensive. e.g. no information governance or H&S topics. **What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's given us a comprehensive all-in-one solution for our work needs. It's made claiming expenses for staff much easier and we see this through increased claims. The system is quick and easy to use and therefore saves time as it's easy to find information. The interconnected bits of expenses, payroll, documentation reviews. Staff like the map facility in expenses so that it auto calculates. The associated app makes the whole process accessible and easier to use than our previous software. Its performance is great. When we have asked for support, the web meetings are useful. For the price, we are happy. We havent used the AI elements to date **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** some of the contract changes cant all be made at once and you have to do multiple changes on separate days. I enjoy working the employees rotas, uploading documents in to one place and having the access to the read and accept on documents. Its help speed up process and performance for myself and employees. When ever i have a questions the support is quick and easy. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** So far the downside would be on eLearning, having some course on Bright Safe and some on Bright, confusing to some employees. Also, the completion and re uploading certificates of eLearning. Everything is clearly signposted and even from the first login I found it easy to use. The calendar feature is fantastic - you can have several different views and see when all of the team are off. I also appreciate the daily updates straight to my inbox allowing me to celebrate colleagues birthdays. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** As a manager I needed to make some changes but can't as it has to be done by one specific person. I think that is down to our internal set up though not the application. **What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has reduced the amount of paperwork produced. Being able to drag and drop saves time when adding new people onto the system. Good interface to see all the people in my team and to access information. I do like having the app on my phone, to be able to access information quickly. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** To begin with it felt clunky and it wasn't always easy to find what I needed. I had to use the support function frequently to discover how to carry out tasks such as adding people onto the system and allocation to teams. This did take time and could be frustrating **What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?** This has helped with the issue of where to store personal data in a system that is GDPR compliant. We needed a system that is secure that could be trusted by everyone. Previously a lot of information was kept in a paper form that wasn't easily accessed. From ongoing HR tasks such as holiday requests and absence management to payroll and advice, it brings everything together in one system. The BrightHR interface feels modern and is very user-friendly, whether I’m processing payroll or assigning training courses through BrightSafe. The payroll software integrates with our pension provider and HMRC, which makes the monthly submissions straightforward and has saved me a lot of time when completing payroll. We also use the BrightHR app, along with the Pop and Blip apps for expenses and time tracking/clocking in. Everything is straightforward to use, even for the less tech-savvy members of our team. We’ve had no performance issues with any of the software, including when importing information during the initial setup and onboarding process. The support we received from BrightHR during onboarding was invaluable. They ensured everything transferred smoothly and helped make sure our first few months of payroll were accurate. While the monthly cost may be higher than some other providers, particularly if you’re only looking for payroll software, I feel BrightHR offers good value for money because of the wider functionality and level of support included. Lastly, Bright Brainbox+ is really handy for those quick questions. It’s the built-in AI chat function, where you can ask questions relating to employment law or health and safety. If it can’t provide a definitive answer, it recommends contacting the relevant advice team and provides their phone number, so you know exactly where to go for further support. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** One improvement I’d like to see is greater integration between expenses and payroll. We reimburse expenses, including mileage, alongside employees’ monthly pay, so it would be useful if approved expenses in the Pop app could feed directly through to payroll. Currently, these need to be added separately, so having this integration would reduce duplicate data entry and make the monthly payroll process even more streamlined. **What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?** BrightHR brings our HR, payroll, absence management, training and employee records together in one place, reducing the need for separate systems and duplicate admin. The integrations with HMRC and our pension provider, along with the employee apps, have helped streamline our processes and save time each month. I'm confident our data is secure. The training and development aspect is a very important add-on for a small business, and it's saving us significant time and money. The initial setup was relatively straightforward, and the user training videos were very helpful. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** The payroll onboarding has been quite slow, with three different members of staff supporting us at different points, which suggests high staff turnover in this part of the business. Some of the initial policy advice was not as thorough as expected, leading us to seek independent legal advice as we develop our contracts. **What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use BrightHR for HR support, employee management, and policy updates. We’re assigned all the training as part of compliance, and I can check all of my paperwork there as well. I can also apply for different kinds of leave on it, and view my working hours, my rota, and my previous days off. It lets me check in and check out too, so my company knows what time I arrived at the office and when I left, because all the check-ins and check-outs include the location. I can use it both on my laptop or my phone as an app or website so it's super smooth. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** I think that if it were connected to the inventory app or system, which is mostly used in school and educational settings to log attendance, it would have been easier to integrate at my school. **What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?** Instead of having my documents, attendance, and absences spread across different apps, I can, as an employee, manage everything in one place. Having both the app and the website version also helps, and the mobile and laptop experience is super quick to use. I love that it's highly accurate compared to other software and provides a lot of metrics, which can help improve accuracy. What I like the most is its user-friendly UI and UX, making it super easy and smooth to use. It's also highly adaptable and can easily manage big data sets, and I appreciate the dashboards that cover every required metric. The system is very straightforward — employees can request leave and log attendance through the app, and managers can approve or track everything in seconds. It has really simplified HR admin. It saves a lot of time by centralising staff data, attendance, and holiday management. The reporting features are helpful for tracking patterns, and it reduces errors compared to manual spreadsheets. **What do you dislike about BrightHR?** Some features feel a little basic, and at times the system can run slowly. There are also occasional limitations when customising reports. The mobile app could be more user-friendly, and notifications can be inconsistent. Smaller updates or tweaks sometimes take longer to implement. **What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us manage our customer service and collections agents by tracking leave, check-in/check-out, and staff records in one system. This has reduced paperwork, improved visibility for managers, and made HR processes much smoother. We wanted to move away from spreadsheets and manual processes.
