Compared to Criteo, AdRoll is simply easier to use. The interface is intuitive, campaign setup is straightforward, and our team was able to get up and running without the usual learning curve or back-and-forth.

AdRoll is solving a few key challenges for us—mainly complexity, disconnected systems, and underperforming campaigns.

With Criteo, managing campaigns and aligning them with our CRM data required more effort and wasn’t as intuitive. AdRoll simplifies that. The platform is easy to use, so our team can launch and optimize campaigns quickly without a steep learning curve.

It also integrates seamlessly with HubSpot, which means our audience data, engagement tracking, and campaign execution are all connected in one place—no manual workarounds.

The result has been a big win for us: better campaign performance, more efficiency, and clearer visibility into what’s actually driving results.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

The dashboard is easy to understand and use. Creating audiences is quick and simple. The reports clearly show how the ads are performing, which helps us make better decisions and improve our campaigns.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

One drawback is that detailed audience segmentation can feel limited in some cases.

Also, there is no easy way to delete old or test campaigns. Being able to remove unused campaigns would help keep the dashboard cleaner and more organized.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using AdRoll, we had trouble converting visitors who did not buy on their first visit. Many potential customers left the site and did not return.

With AdRoll, we started retargeting those visitors across display and other channels. This helped us bring them back and increase conversions. Our ROAS is now around 370%, which shows a strong return on our ad spend.

AdRoll helped us recover lost traffic, improve our retargeting strategy, and get better results from our marketing budget.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I appreciate how easy it is to manage retargeting campaigns for multiple clients at once using AdRoll. The ability to install the pixel, upload banner ads, and manage billing is much easier than using Google Ads. I like the platform's feature to have multiple sub-accounts, which suits my agency's needs well. Additionally, the fact that the platform is free for me since the client pays the advertising cost is a significant benefit. I primarily use the ads campaigns for retargeting using banner ads and I find the pixel installation feature very useful for retargeting individuals who have visited my clients' websites.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

I still have to create my own banner ads. It would be nice if they had a way to easily create banner ads in all the right sizes, rather than me having to create them and then upload them.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AdRoll makes it easy to manage retargeting campaigns for multiple clients, with simple pixel installation, banner ad uploads, and billing management, all easier than Google Ads.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I like that AdRoll doesn't seem to run into as many issues as we face running ads on Google, where there are frequent bugs and irrelevant policy violations. It also allows us to run retargeting ads for companies who can't use Google for this purpose. The dashboard is very strong and user-friendly, presenting data in a way that gets straight to the point with the most important information. The general account setup is relatively straightforward.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

The campaign and ad setup process on AdRoll is not user-friendly compared to the performance analytics dashboard. It's really difficult to get new ads created, and this section could really benefit from being streamlined and simplified. Even though I'm an experienced advertiser and can find what I need, I can imagine how challenging and frustrating it might be for business owners or people without digital ad experience to navigate the ad creation process. Also, while the general account setup is straightforward, the actual campaign and ad setup remains a hurdle.

AdRoll solves the issues of frequent bugs and irrelevant policy violations on Google Ads. It enables us to run retargeting ads for companies restricted on Google. The user-friendly dashboard presents crucial data clearly.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

We advertise for some clients who are unable to utilize traditional retargeting because of the nature of their business (healthcare, housing, etc.). AdRoll gives us the ability to retarget relevant audiences for these clients to keep the brand front of mind for users who have already expressed interest. This leads to higher conversion rates and increased brand awareness.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

The overall reporting features are somewhat limited, so when relaying performance metrics to clients we have to manually gather information and  create additional charts and graphs. We've also gotten feedback from clients that the cost is a bit higher than expected, but when we are trying to circumvent certain ad platform limitations, I guess that is to be expected.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AdRoll gives us the ability to retarget users who have previously interacted with one of the ads we manage. For some of our clients, because of the nature of their industry (healthcare, housing, financial, etc.) this capability is sometimes limited in other advertising platforms. AdRoll lets us continue appearing in front of their audiences, albeit on a different platform, but in a still meaningful and effective way.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I use AdRoll for programmatic banner advertising, especially retargeting to visitors of our site. It's easy to use compared to other programmatic advertising options, requiring less technical knowledge and setup, yet it's quite robust for reaching potential customers. I like that it's quick to setup and change materials, doing what more comprehensive tools do but in a simpler way, needing less specialist knowledge. The simple retargeting setup is the most valuable thing for us, and it can be used by anyone who understands the basics of online advertising, even if they aren't specialists in banner advertising.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Simplicity leads also to constraints, it takes some control away from the user and for example it is quite hard to find out where the ads were shown, you have to download a report instead of just seeing the information on the platform.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

We leveraged AdRoll for one of our campaigns with Tourism Whistler, focused on retargeting lower-funnel users who were specifically showing interest in hotels. Flight 1 helped us prove the case that this should be an always-on activity, which supported securing Flight 2 in 2025, and have it in 2026 as well. The product offering is strong, especially the ability to showcase multiple hotel offers, which has worked well for Tourism Whistler.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

The user interface seems really challenging to use. I had spoken to our account manager and had given feedback on how we use a feed which is similar to Google Data Studio. Took them through the platform and told me that it would come in the near future but it's TBD. Reporting seems difficult as there is no flexibility on creating a custom report. The monthly minimu m was also not helpful for us as it's 5K USD which translates to 6.8K just to have an account manager on board.

AdRoll has definitely helped the client garner more booking and conversion with the way it leverages it inventory through AI. We have seen consistent performance over the last 4 weeks and in general during the campaign, despite spending less on a monthly basis.

I like how AdRoll makes retargeting and multichannel campaign management easy. It streamlines our workflow by centralizing what would otherwise be a fragmented process. Instead of managing separate campaigns across multiple platforms, we can build, launch, and monitor retargeting efforts across display, social media, and email from a single interface.

Campaign setup and navigation are straightforward, which matters when you're managing multiple accounts and need to move efficiently. Billing is transparent and easy to reconcile, which is a small but meaningful operational win.

On the integration side, the Supermetrics connector works seamlessly with our reporting infrastructure, making it easy to pull AdRoll data into our dashboards alongside other channel data without any manual exports. 

AdRoll's ad policy flexibility also stands out. Compared to platforms like Google, AdRoll is far less restrictive when it comes to ad approvals, which reduces friction and lets us get campaigns live faster — especially for clients in more nuanced industries like Healthcare. The primary drawback of AdRoll is cost. On a CPM basis, AdRoll tends to run higher than competing platforms — including Google Display — which can make it a harder sell for clients with tighter budgets or those who are purely performance-focused on efficiency metrics. For agencies managing spend across multiple channels, the higher CPMs require that campaign performance and audience quality justify the premium, which isn't always a straightforward conversation with clients.

We manage digital advertising for healthcare clients, and Google Display's ad policies create significant operational headaches. Google routinely flags and shuts down ads, including straightforward branded campaigns with no personal health data and no HIPAA concerns. This leads to under-delivery, lost impressions, and wasted budget, and the policy enforcement is often opaque and inconsistent.

AdRoll solves this by providing a much more workable policy environment for healthcare advertisers. Branded retargeting campaigns that would be restricted or pulled on Google run without issue on AdRoll, keeping campaigns live and delivering consistently. The result is better campaign continuity, more predictable spend pacing, and a more reliable retargeting solution for an industry that is otherwise poorly served by the major platforms. We’ve had a really positive experience with AdRoll. The platform is easy to use, simple to manage, and has made running retargeting campaigns much more straightforward for us. The reporting is clear, and it’s been a great way to stay visible to customers after they’ve visited our website. What has really stood out, though, is the level of account management. Our account manager, Anna, has been incredibly helpful, responsive, and proactive throughout, always on hand with support and advice when needed. Overall, it’s been a great platform to work with, made even better by the strong support behind it.

We run Magento and Adroll is mostly geared for Shopify, so we've had to do some custom coding i.e. added pixels to make it work.

As a beginner, I found it easy to use. It didn't confuse me with complex UI and too many options. I could configure the necessary settings myself after watching a few videos on YouTube.

Once you start getting pro with AdRoll, you may experience, as it doesn't have lots of options, you can't optimize your retargeting campaign with it as Meta and other platforms.

I love how AdRoll offers the ability to just have a platform that takes care of all my web ads. It's easy to upload images and videos, and setting up an audience is straightforward. I appreciate the ease of use and how straightforward the setup is, especially with the pixel incorporation being pretty easy with all major ecommerce platforms. It's saved me time, which equates to saved money. AdRoll makes a tedious, sometimes technical task super easy to do. The initial setup was super easy as well.

What I like best about AdRoll is the ability to leverage them as a true turnkey solution. Their team handles campaign setup and much of the ongoing management, which significantly reduces the operational burden on our side. Instead of spending time building campaigns from scratch or troubleshooting setup issues, we can stay focused on strategy, performance analysis, and higher-impact optimizations.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

The only downside, and it’s relatively minor, is that with a turnkey model you don’t always have access to the same level of granular controls that you might find in a fully self-service DSP. There are occasional parameters or niche optimizations that aren’t available, but in practice these are few and far between and don’t materially limit performance.

While it provides access to a broad network of display placements, the quality and scale don’t always match what you get directly through platforms like Google or Meta. This can lead to less control over where ads appear and, in some cases, weaker performance at scale.

It’s most effective for retargeting use cases, but if you’re looking for premium placements, advanced optimization, or large-scale prospecting, the inventory can feel somewhat constrained.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I like AdRoll for its HTML ads and easy-to-use interface. We receive support from the AdRoll team in developing HTML assets, which is a big help. The user interface is very friendly, allowing anyone from our team to set up campaigns effortlessly. The initial setup of AdRoll was very easy, and it offers low CPM and frequent ads, which were key reasons for our switch from using a couple of DSPs.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Currently AdRoll is not supporting multi-currency social media ads integration, which is a bit frustrating. Our AdRoll account is in USD, and our Meta ads account is in INR, so we're not able to link our accounts.

AdRoll helps us improve ads visibility and the UI is friendly, so anyone can set up campaigns. We also get support for developing HTML assets.

I like that AdRoll deletes the least performing assets on its own, which is super convenient compared to other ad platforms where I have to manually review and switch off assets that aren't delivering. Also, the initial setup of AdRoll was quite easy compared to other tools in the market.

I find its reach limited for spreading brand awareness compared to Google Display Ads. It would be better if AdRoll increased the number of partner sites and allowed users to target specific types of websites for more relevant ad placement.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I like the ease of use and that you can create separate instances for any websites that you have under one account. I also like having a dedicated support person to help whenever anything isn't working correctly. It's been really easy for me to train our marketing team to use the tool. Having support means my team can reach out directly, instead of relying on me. Even though the setup was initially done incorrectly by someone else, I was able to restart the setup for our entire company account in just a few hours, which was pretty easy.

I think the best thing about AdRoll is the segmentations. You can connect with multiple CRMs like HubSpot and Salesforce and target specific audiences. So segmentation is the most important thing AdRoll has, compared to Google Ads. Also, the initial setup was pretty good, and there was support available, making it a smooth process.

I think we are not able to generate much leads. We try to generate leads, but not really. So I think AdRoll needs to work on how they can run conversion drive on campaigns.

She handles the setup for display and CTV campaigns, which results in good performance. Everything is done on behalf of us, making it easy. The setup was done for me by the AdRoll team, which was easy.

I'm concerned about the charges AdRoll imposes versus the actual spending. I'm not sure if what they are charging aligns with what they're spending.

I have trouble with the integration between AdRoll and the MMP we use, Singular. I ran into issues with custom links and data connectors to get conversion data pulling into Singular because it's not integrated. Some of our targeted cohorts have their conversions attributed to their initial install date in Singular, and I'm still working through how to get an accurate read on performance.

I find AdRoll very simple to set up, which makes it easy to get going and add payment methods. It's fairly easy to add creatives in different formats and set things live. I also like the reporting, which gives me very clear, granular detail over an extended time period about how my adverts are doing and which creatives are performing stronger. Additionally, I appreciate the ability to target different audiences, allowing us to reach new audiences cost-effectively. It also lets us retarget our current website visitors, putting our brand back in front of someone potentially already in our sales funnel.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

I think the advert loading, the creative side, getting your banner advert in could be improved potentially. I also think using a lookalike audience is perhaps not as precise as I would like. I'd like it more targeted to our ICP, our ideal customer profile. So I'm not fully aware of who's in that b2b audience and I'm also not able to pick the specific business websites where I would like our adverts to be shown so having more control of where our ads are served would be useful.

AdRoll is an easy to use platform for retargeting campaigns for our business.
We have set up campaigns connected to each specific landing page that are then funnelled into these campaigns to ensure we stay top-of-mind with prospects.
It is very easy to add the code snippit to our website and tag pages - although I am very experienced in website management, it could really be done by anyone.
Ad costs are also very reasonable from a cost per impression perspective. So it works very well for brand-based campaigns.

I find the campaign creation windows a little cumbersome. I would prefer if things were compacted slightly so you can see more options in the same window without needing the scroll up/down so much.

I've been using AdRoll for over 10 years primarily for remarketing, and it makes it very easy to target website visitors. I really like the ease of the system. I've just recently learned about better targeting for customer segmentation and abandoned carts, and it's exciting to try it. It allows me to better target particular customers, not just a broad swath. The initial setup of AdRoll was very easy with the support of an AdRoll rep.

In the early days, we had hand-held support and suggestions on building our campaigns. As the company grew, lots of new services came and went, but we no longer had the hand-held support. I recently had a chat with a rep about our account. He showed me what I could do, and it was helpful, but having a consultant who actually understands your business, your history, and your goals and works with you was better.

Adroll teams are proactive in updating you on new advertising products that are available and helping you to implement them into your strategy. Anna, our current account manager has been great in the time we've worked together so far, and is always on the other end of an email if issues arise. Adroll was easy to integrate once we had decided we wanted to launch activity.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

We previously had stopped using the service, as we felt that when we had signed up for a package, the customer service suddenly dropped off and mistakes were often made with campaign structure/launches. We had not had this experience prior to signing the package, this was in 2022/2023. 

I also think that the design process is difficult, as we provide a guide and individual assets for the Adroll creative team to build the banners, but there is often multiple rounds of feedback despite the fact that we provide a clear visual guide. This is time consuming for us and for our design team as they are the team that need to review the banners and approve/disapprove. It would be ideal if we were able to send the banners ready made to reduce time required for feedback.

Adroll has helped fill a gap in where we’re showing up, especially when it comes to brand awareness. Because we’re a small team, we can really only focus on paid social ourselves, so the platform’s ease of use and the customer support make it much simpler for us to show up elsewhere as well.

The platform is very easy to use and straight forward. The customer service is top notch. The retargeting it does is very very effective and works with low audience sizes. The shopify integration makes it easy to do dynamic product retargeting.

When using the non-retargeting aspects such as contextual targeting and reaching cold audience, it does not perform very well. Could be our creatives or offer, but we have not really seen a positive experience there.

Adroll is solving my problem of being able to retarget to small audience sizes. Most platforms require a minimum audience size before being able to retarget to them. However, with adroll, you can retarget audiences lists that are brand new.

For someone who is in the platform everyday, the main dashboard is great and provides all the data you need to make decisions. I wish their were more optimizations opportunities in the platform. The only thing you can really control in a campaign is budget, goals, and audiences. I know their is a team monitoring performance, but it would be cool to have that capability as well.

I like that AdRoll is easy to use and has a modern look. I also find it easy to upload ads using the drag and drop feature.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

I wish I could set custom standard UTMs for all ads. It always sets medium to AdRoll, but I want source to be AdRoll and medium to be performance. I have to manually change that every time I upload new ads. Wish there was a setting to 'view last week Su-Sa'.

AdRoll helps get our ads seen by our website visitors who haven't purchased.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I like that AdRoll is simple to use and the initial setup was easy. I mainly use it for retargeting specific audiences and find it helpful for general advertising and targeting.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

AdRoll doesn't drive conversions and overattributes them. I see a lot of attributed sales but can't track them because no one clicks, maybe it's only viewthrough conversions though.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use AdRoll for retargeting specific audiences. It's simple to use and supplements Google and Meta. However, it doesn't drive conversions effectively and tends to overattribute them.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I like that it seems that Adroll is trying to stay competitive with the programmatic ad space. While our company isn't using it, its something I want to learn and get into.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

I dislike how it connects with our proprietary system. I think most of the headaches come from our own internal system and less on Adroll's side. Our development team is still finetuning things on our end.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are making the settings and features easier to get to in the platform so the platform ease of use has improved. The fact that we can sync campaigns directly from our platform makes things easier. It helps our marketing campaign managers not have to learn how to get around in a different platform.

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I like that AdRoll is easy to set up and adjust campaigns, and I find it easy to create new creatives and implement them. I also appreciate the freedom to manage the ads on my own after a customer success agent initially helped me. I like that you can add labels to the creatives to filter them and apply them to campaigns with the click of a button.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

I would like to be able to fine tune my audiences more by targeting specific sites. I'd also like the ability to exclude customers from my internal lists (Email Providers etc) from contextual and demographic campaigns.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AdRoll helps get our ads in front of the right audiences based on demographics and behavior, and retargets site visitors and cart abandoners effectively.
