  ### 1. Promising Interface, Data Reliability Issues Persist

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

I appreciate that the interface in Synergy is better, which was one of the reasons we switched from eTrack. Also, I find the AI bot blue useful.

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

I find the reliability of data in Synergy questionable, which affects my confidence in using it. Custom reporting doesn't always give me what I need, leading to inconsistent results. It's frustrating to extract data from Synergy. We haven't been able to generate reliable management reports because it takes too much time to review them, despite having a consultant to help. The onboarding training wasn't sufficient; even after nine months, we still struggle to set up an efficient / best practice process. There's a need for better support for invoicing templates, project templates, and the reporting and dashboard features. Initial setup was tough due to the large amount of data and setup required across multiple databases - as well as learning a new platform and the overwhelm of new learnings.

**What problems is Total Synergy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Synergy's customised reporting frustrating due to inconsistent results and lack of reliable data. Although its interface is better, I'm still struggling to provide reliable management reports and need support with invoicing and project templates.

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

The revenue forecasting it is quick and easy.  I feel like the pricing is fair for what you are receiving.  Additionally, their help desk people are incredible.  While it's a bit painful to only be able to type issues and responses, they are very good at getting to the bottom of things, making sure you get the right information.

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

Improvements to the parts of the app we use regularly are rare, and the last "search improvement" actually made it far worse.  Now it doesn't prompt you with project, prompts the wrong ones, if you are lucky to see yours, clicking on it only works about 25% of the time.   The really slow way is now the fastest way which is unfortunate.  The "PO number on invoices" that was delivered, isn't useful because it doesn't save it for the next invoice.  It still takes the same amount of time to have to go and look it up, defeating the purpose of the request.  None of our requests have been actioned to my knowledge.  There have been a few work arounds, but the improvement itself hasn't happened.   
Overall, it really works well for most things, but what you see is what you get. Additional items or requests likely won't be actioned.

I think the revenue forecasting is spot on, thought it would be helpful to be able to sort by job number.    Invoicing is working well, though there are some pretty significant time saving items that could be better, like saving all invoice settings for the next invoice.

It has made so many of our processes quicker and more efficient. We can see a lot more information in one glance than having to trawls multiple reports and platforms like we did before. Support is incredible.

There are a lot of things we cannot delete, only make inactive which I really dislike. And sometimes there are a lot of steps involved to do something.

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

The best thing about Synergy is its friendliness with the End User. I have been using this software to manage the budget, costing and lastly providing customer support. Synergy is handling delivering and management of the entire project. It tracks time and informs that is basically reducing half of my work.

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

I haven’t come across any negative thing about Synergy yet but what I am hearing from the management that it has a high cost as we’re using the Enterprise version which might affect the continuation with this tool after 1 year. But so far I am liking Synergy.

We are into digital workplace services where we are managing multiple projects in our organisation. So i am using Synergy to manage the project assigned to me.

Ease of timesheet functionality, project invoicing, purchase order creation, cost tracking etc. all in the one place.  We used it on a daily basis and have found it to be a stable platform with product updates regularly coming through

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

Resource allocation and scheduling.  With many small projects on the go it will be very time consuming to keep up to date.  In our workflows, this functionality wouldn't work for a large portion of our projects

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

Synergy is very easy to use and it is already setup for engineering and architectural practices.  Short learning curve and easy to implement in day to day company operations and project management.

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

Synergy works through a web-based platform accessible through IE, Chrome, etc.  They could provide as well an app that could provide a number of the things that someone can do through the web-based platform (such as completion of timesheets, or send files though the project communications portal, etc).  Hopefully Synergy will offer this in the near future.

**Recommendations to others considering Total Synergy:**

Highly recommended for firms providing engineering and architectural consultancy services.  Implement it in your day to day operations and you will get to know the insights of each project and how it performs.

**What problems is Total Synergy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Synergy is an excellent platform that can help managers to have a deep inside in the profitability and performance of each project.  Knowing how each project performs, setting KPIs to the staff, and monitoring performance and metrics of each project is an invaluable tool to an engineering team manager.  By using  Synergy I was able to figure out our real costs, and understand where my team needs improvement to catch the KPIs.  Also, I was able to understand what is the exact impact of costing a project too low.
Furthermore, I was able to track  accurately projects billed on an hourly rate, and by printing the work hourly rate report I was able to convince the Clients that our invoice was correct.
It is very easy software to introduce to the daily operations of an engineering practice

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

Cloud based I can access any where. I'm able to advise clients of their project status. I'm able to see projects completed or quoted prior to entering a meeting with a client. If I need a reference of past projects completed I can obtain the information in mere minutes with complete detail. Ensuring invoicing matches completion stage/status/percentage complete of the task. Monitoring number of meetings. Gaining statistical information of time taken on projects.

Initial entry of clients & contacts that was painful but great once completed.

My project number don't reset to 1 (one) at January 1st. Year-Proj Number.

Total Synergy is a lot more intuitive than other project software systems that we have used. It's as if it was actually designed for professionals that work in the construction / development industry! 

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

I would like that we could use the forecasting tool that is offered for Enterprise level users. However, cannot justify the additional cost that we would have to make for all of our team members when only 2-3 people would use this function and other Enterprise level functions. 

**Recommendations to others considering Total Synergy:**

Ask lots of questions and use the online learning sessions. The support team at Synergy is great! 

**What problems is Total Synergy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accurate tracking of project profitability, throughout all stages of the project. Previously the costs incurred on a project were 'guestimated' and big unknown risk factors were calculated into fee proposals. Synergy has helped to show  the real costs of a project. This information is very useful to develop future project proposals and also to identify where and why projects were running overtime.

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

The best thing about Total Synergy is the ability to take it everywhere. You are no longer shackled to your desk to look at projects. The other thing is dashboard - a summary of how everything is doing in a visual representation.

I dislike how you are unable to adjust timesheets for other users even with the sys admin role. Another thing I wasn't sold on is the budget feature - It would be nice to be able to budget based on the amount of hours required for a task not just a monetary value.

there are some many benefits available to the business with integrated apps such as Aconex, Outlook and Xero. These will really help eliminate doubling up on tasks and time. We are still in the process of having everything moved across so I am sure there are plenty more benefits.

Timesheets, Document register, ability to save emails to a project database

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

Reports. I find creating them and producing them very counter intuitive. 

I also find that there are multiple feature that could be added to Synergy but when i ask if they can be integrated their isn't a drive to look to expand the potential of the software.

Pricing is also quite steep for medium sized practices. especially for the features that are offered as part of the enterprise solution. While most of these features would only be accessed by 5-10 users in an organisation, all users within the company have to be updated at the additional $15 per month per user.

**Recommendations to others considering Total Synergy:**

Understand that it is a great software but it does have limitations and is quite expensive if you want to have all of the features it offers.

**What problems is Total Synergy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the on boarding of Synergy we have been able to track the hours our staff are working on a project with more granularity. The issue with this is the ease of retrieving the data (see comment about generating reports).
What has also been helpful as it is now the location for distributing documentation to our clients and consultants.

Its great overall, I would like a Gmail plugin, but it's coming so no complaints really.

If you want a package to track time and costs and display data real-time and show project costs and department budgets/costs/profits this is easy one-stop shop.

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

Synergy is a one-stop shop. It's a central go-to hub that I have open on my desktop all day. I can access client details, view my projects, invoice clients, track my time and so much more. But Synergy's best attribute has to be their people and commitment to their customers. Their assistance during set -up and thereafter has been second to none. They are always prompt in responding to queries and even follow up to see how things worked out. 5 stars!

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

I had some trouble setting up invoice templates in the beginning. It was probably my lack of understanding of how this needed to be done. But the Synergy support team are always on hand to take you through the issues step by step....or even screenshot by screenshot!

You won't look back.

Synergy has allowed me to accurately track my project financials and ultimately saves me a bunch of time every month on the task of invoicing and disbursing costs to jobs.

The best feature for us is having everything accessible in one place - with the ability to work remotely and still keep in touch with our team/clients.

Before launch I think there should have been a bit more of a walk through/set up - I understand the time and resource aspects would have been significant, but it would have allowed us to really hit the ground running with the program.

Excellent Support! The ability to talk to someone in real time and get a simple and effect breakdown of how to fix the problem. The support is second to none! The software is growing quickly with the needs of the industry which is an added bonus.

We are establishing the ability to have a much quicker turn around with clients/contractors and collaborators all the while being able to track and project the trajectory of the projects coming up. I

**What do you like best about Total Synergy?**

Flexibility of the product to adapt to suit our established working patterns.  The technical support during the trial period and then again after subscription has been absolutely first class.  Help has been provided on demand (very quickly) to not just answer software related questions but also to assist us in transferring our established practices such as invoicing, project numbering, project reviewing etc on to the Synergy platform.  What we now have is a go anywhere, totally accessible practice management tool that has, after only three week's of full roll out, already greatly improved staff productivity.

**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

Initial set-up could have been slightly better explained during the trial period.  There are some vital QA protocols in the platform that mean it's not easy to alter settings once they are set up and used i.e. staff rates etc however there is always a simple work around and the Synergy team have been very helpful in explaining them.

**Recommendations to others considering Total Synergy:**

Take advantage of the Synergy support remote tutorials which are one on with the Synergy team, over the phone/speaker and use shared screens.  Do this even before you input any data is my advice so that you know you're setting off from the correct starting point.  This could have helped us with a little back tracking.  We've been hammering the online support and always get a reply within the hour (UK for working ours or from Australia for UK out of hours) which has been great.  The Synergy team could not have been more helpful.

**What problems is Total Synergy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased productivity and more transparent practice management.  We have been able to cut out several complicated Excel spreadsheets and can manage more workflow through the Synergy application.  This centralizes our core data in one easy to access database for all staff, of course with access restrictions set as necessary.  The email add-in for Outlook is great and files emails to the project location meaning they are easily accessed by all internal staff.

Synergy's ease of use and the fact that it is tailored extremely well to suit consulting businesses in the construction industry.
A simple invoicing process and ease at which invoices can be issued to clients and linked into our accounting software.
The quick and effective support form the Synergy support team.
The ability to tailor many facets of Synergy to suit our business.


**What do you dislike about Total Synergy?**

Nothing really however it would be beneficial to have some face to face further training in our Perth office if possible especially with respect to setting up templates an email management.
I suppose with the continual updates and running a small business it is hard to keep up with all the latest information.

Synergy keeps track of all the boring bits of my businesses;  it makes me to feel on top of my various records and management needs - allowing me to work both on, and in, my business.

Sometimes updates can be slow in arriving - typically improvements are over-enthusiastically forecast before they were quite ready.

Just do it!
A little early pain in learning the system is well worth it, but now that it's in the cloud, it is much more intuitive

Synergy rationalises the annoying bureaucratic sides of my businesses and allows me to interrogate  all types of data in some cool reports, which in turns gives me more control and the ability to make better management and business decisions.

Total Synergy cloud version is user friendly and intuitive, the Knowledge/Help files are informative and can usually resolve any issue I have, and if not, the team support is prompt and helpful. 

I love the timesheet and timer features for accurate recording of project hours.

With Total Synergy, we are able to manage all phases of projects, invoicing and timesheet records. Total Synergy offers a thorough overview of projects information set out in helpful info-grpahics.

The start up could be more streamlined. We needed quite a lot of help from the Support Team.
Initially felt that that the it was aimed more towards the construction industry than an architectural practice.
