What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

What stands out most about Designcenter Solid Edge is how approachable it feels for a professional CAD tool. The interface is clean and well-structured, making it easier to understand compared to some more complex alternatives. The synchronous technology is a big plus, as it allows for quick design changes without breaking workflows. It also integrates well within the wider Siemens ecosystem, which gives confidence in terms of long-term support, reliability, and scalability. Overall, it feels like a powerful yet practical solution for design and engineering teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

One downside is that there can be a learning curve for users who are completely new to CAD or coming from simpler tools. Some advanced features aren’t immediately intuitive and require time or training to fully understand. Documentation is solid, but certain workflows would benefit from more beginner-focused examples. Additionally, like many enterprise-level tools, licensing and configuration can feel a bit complex at first, particularly for smaller teams or individual users who just want to get started quickly. "Streamlined CAD Projects with Efficient Part Reuse"
What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

I use Designcenter Solid Edge to manage and reuse standard parts and design components across my CAD projects, which helps me quickly access frequently used items, maintain design consistency, and reduce repetitive work. What I like most about Designcenter Solid Edge is how practical it is in day-to-day work. It makes it really easy to reuse parts I’ve already created instead of starting from scratch every time. Having everything organized and easy to find saves time and keeps my designs consistent, especially when working on similar projects. The feature I use and value the most is the ability to reuse parts and design resources easily. Instead of creating the same components again and again, I can just pick what I need and continue working. It saves time, keeps my work organized, and makes the whole design process feel smoother and less repetitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

Sometimes browsing large libraries can be a bit slow, and the interface could be a little more user-friendly. It would be great if the library browsing was faster and if the interface allowed more customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive 3D Modeling and Efficient Workflow for Engineers"
What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

As a graduate mechanical engineer, what I appreciate most about Designcenter Solid Edge is its intuitive 3D modeling environment and the efficiency it brings to the design workflow. The software enables me to create and modify parts and assemblies quickly, which is crucial during the iterative process of engineering design.

I especially value the parametric and synchronous modeling capabilities, as they allow for rapid design changes while preserving dimensional accuracy. This adaptability proves invaluable when I need to accommodate design updates or optimize specific components.

Furthermore, the integrated drafting and assembly tools simplify the process of generating clear, manufacturing-ready drawings directly from 3D models. In summary, Solid Edge enhances practical engineering design by shortening development time and letting me concentrate more on functionality, performance, and manufacturability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

I dislike the learning curve associated with some of its advanced features. While the core modeling tools are intuitive, certain functions such as complex assemblies and advanced simulation tools can take time to fully understand and use efficiently.

Additionally, the software can feel resource-intensive when working with larger assemblies, which may affect performance on lower-specification computers. Some workflows also require multiple steps to accomplish tasks that feel more streamlined in other CAD platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quick and Efficient, but with Details to Improve"
What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

I usually use Designcenter Solid Edge to develop more complex design projects, mainly taking advantage of tools like solid creation and sweeps. It greatly supports me in reducing time compared to other software, for example, by reusing features or even parts. I feel it allows me to design solutions much faster than other applications, achieving my goals efficiently. Additionally, the speed and ease of finding installation folders along with a low learning curve were positive points during the initial setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

It has certain issues with organization, often duplicating documents instead of updating them, and also has a very unintelligent file search. The configuration of some shared library was negative for me. I feel that there are applications that give you more freedom and are more commonly used in the design area, so sometimes if you want to share some type of document, it can become complicated to have the same information.
