**What do you like best about Altair HyperWorks?**

Altair Hyperworks is a fully integrated CAE/FEM platform for finite element modelling, setup, solution, and post-processing, with support for various commercial packages. It also integrates with a wide range of solver tools such as LS-DYNA, Abaqus, Nastran, ANSYS, Radioss, OptiStruct, and PAM-CRASH, among many others. With the latest updates, the new HyperMesh UI and UX have changed significantly compared with the older, classical HyperMesh interface, while also bringing major functional and performance improvements.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

Not much to add overall, but support for crash analysis or the LS-DYNA solver could be improved.

It works well in the area of virtual validation and simulation. CAD cleanup and mesh generation are some of the most important steps in an FEA simulation, and these are handled using HyperWorks.

HyperWorks is very powerful, but its dashboard and UI can feel a bit dated and less intuitive compared to newer CAE platforms.

I used Altair HyperWorks for topology optimization. It allowed me to define the design space, loads, and constraints efficiently, and generate lightweight structures while exploring multiple design alternatives.

**What do you like best about Altair HyperWorks?**

I like the new interface; the icons are very understandable and useful. And we don't need to continuously press the ctrl button on the keyboard while panning and turning the geometry.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

After the 2022.1 patch, most of the bugs are removed, but there are still some. So I'm waiting for the 2022.2 patch; probably program will run more smoothly. And somehow, I didn't understand when the command was not working correctly after the close and reopen; the program command was working well. It happened a few times, which is weird.

**What problems is Altair HyperWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm cleaning geometries and meshing them quickly, which needs analysis and running smoothly. Hyperworks made my work easier and faster. For meshing, we are using it in our department all the time.

It consiat package of so may diffrent softwares auch as hypermesh, optistruct, Radios, Hyperview, Hyperstudy etc
In which Hypermesh is really strong and powerfull software for preprocessing meshing and model building for lot many popular solvers. Hyperworks also contains their own local solvers such as optistruct and Radios.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

Interface is really old. They are trying to modify it now but wont find it that effective. They could also study the competition and do changes accordingly.

This is package who trying to solve every physical problem ( multiphysics problem virtually.

Clean and friendly user interface, help and support from the company through their websites, courses etc and mesh control is the best thing that the software provides. Along with the ability to perform multiple types of analyses with multiple solvers, it is a complete package for a CAE Analyst.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

Newer versions are having issues with compatibility. Some old features dont work or are not available on the main interface, need to search on new versions.

Hyperworks has proven to be base software to go to for any type of analyses, whether it be simple linear static and optimization or complex multi body simulations.

while doing deck setup for complex scenarios for analysis of components we need to use lot of controls cards! some times it get difficult for self learner how to use those cards

Good thing is they are improving their Graphic user interface
for eg cfscfd Accuslve, hyperlife, simalab, inspire etc.
In simlab the improved preprocessing as well as in accuslove cfd

I love the new updates interface that makes building models much more user friendly and efficient. The layout is well through through and the brains behind the smart features have improved hugely.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

There's not much for me to dislike. However, what I did find a little difficult was the original imtergration of the new interface. However, once I got used to it and was comfortable using it. I found it much easier to use than the older interface.

It's solving the complexity of FEA. Atlair HyperWorks makes solving and building complex both linear and non-linear models much easier than other software I've used in the past.

I have liked mesh regulation of hyperworks in short time. Before, ı use hypermesh already . On the other hand, hyperworks can do solid and surface geotmerical regulations.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

I think, hyperworks especially is bad on the extend and crossextend. I recommend to Hyperworks to being stabil. So sometimes it crash. Crashing break my files and reports.

Altair hyperowrks solving is working so regular and stabil.so it benefit me to do my works less time. So  I liked it and use it. Sometimes it collapses and breaks.

Hyperworks is the most advanced finite element analysis preprocessor available in the market right now.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

The older interface was old fashioned, but they revized the interface in newer versions. Every analysis type should have a predefined ribbon, like Patran.

**What problems is Altair HyperWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Altair Hyperworks helps me with all kinds of analysis types, from lineer static to explicit dynamic analysis. In aerospace industry, we use it mostly for creating detailed finite element models.

Hyperworks allows you to do structure analysis fast and precisely. Then, it also have the option of you to run optimization, Optistruct is a good solver and built in to the interface.

The Gui sometimes can be overwhelming, because of it provides too much of features, it is pretty distracted and confused what will be the best option to perform analysis.

I used altair hyperworks for design and analysis of SAE BAJA project which involves designing an ATV. I like the structural analysis and modelling part.

None. All features are good. Although i would like to point out the price is a bit high.

If you are thinking of a user-friendly Pre-processor for your CAE Analysis, then Hyperworks is the best platform. Though it is not a robust Non-Linear solver, basic analysis can be easily done with good correlation with actual values.

I have mainly used Hyperworks for FE Mesh generation using Hypermesh and Simlab, Solver deck setup using Hypermesh, Analysis using Optistruct Solver and Post-processing of results using Hyperview.

**What do you like best about Altair HyperWorks?**

Hyperworks software is a very professional software for complex geometries.
I can model for finite element analysis.
Mid-surface rendering and mesh criteria for solid geometries are quite extensive.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

The complexity of the usage interface sometimes prolongs the work.
Model control is a bit difficult in Platfrom.
The ability of assembly geometries to work in different segments in mesh models is poor.

**Recommendations to others considering Altair HyperWorks:**

If you have complex geometries, you can easily use the finite element mesh structure using this software.

**What problems is Altair HyperWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it for forming the middle surface of the parts produced by plastic injection.
I used the mesh criteria in the projects.

It has a lot of optuons to alter the mesh, manipulate surfaces and file compatibility is good

It has a lot of bugs and crashes at some instances. Especially while giving analysis run

There are better softwares out there, but can't be sure about the price

**What do you like best about Altair HyperWorks?**

Reduces time and engineering analysis setup cost through high-performance finite element modeling (Preprocessing). Best element level control compared to Ansys & APDL. Its user interface is very easy to understand and It can support various kinds of extensions files and also it can solve any kind of model with ease. 


**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

Dependency on other models before post processing and plotting results also the interface can be improved to be more intuitive. Mesh controls are not stored and geometric handling features can be improved.

Awesome tool for a variety of analysis and tasks. Multiple online support forums to solve for temporary issues we face.

Tool design & projects as a mechanical engineer.
Used it extensively as a mechanical engineer for projects and in tools design.

**What do you like best about Altair HyperWorks?**

With all the stress - strain calculations automated and its easy to obtained once meshing is done properly. It is a cost cutting tool as it greatly reduces manual labor put into calculations.

**What do you dislike about Altair HyperWorks?**

There are certain limitations in Hyperworks. It doesn't have some important pro-processing solvers that have to be used in conjunction. Compatibility issues prevail and have to be sorted.

I have used Hyperworks on Stress Analysis on mounting brackets and determined buckling loads. I found out that it didn't meet the requirements. So I had to strengthen it by increasing thickness.

It is simple to input the desired conditions. As a matter of fact, in my past organizations I have utilized manual computations for examination of vessels and funneling structures yet after Hyperworks came into picture it was way simpler.

All things considered, just weakness of Hyperworks is it can't unravel all sort of decks, so we need to rely upon other programming for fathoming reason.

We use HyperWorks mostly to generate mesh file that could be able to import to other solvers like LS-DYNA or ANSYS for calculation. Having a nice mesh allows us to achieve better finite element analysis calculation, especially at nanometer scale.

Meshing is exact and choices are huge. So I work the part and run post preparing.

I like the meshing options available if you would like to to carry out an analysis in  FEA. The whole idea of evaluating meshing independently of the mathematical solvers is justified with results from Hyperworks.

Mesh controls in the hyperworks application can't be saved. This is a huge deal because more often than not.

I am performing finite element analysis on a CFD model for the flow analysis in a transient flow of the air over the heat sink in the heat dissipation system.

In my early days of engineering i had to do all the calculations manually. But with hyperworks and its commands all I have to do is only a few clicks away. So it greatly reduced manual work.

The only thing I dislike about hyperworks is it cant solve all kinds of meshed networks, so we have to depend on other platforms for specific tasks.

I think of it as a cost-cutting tool as it greatly helps to reduces manual labor with all the calculations. It would be great if many people start using it.

2. One can use hypermesh to mesh for different solvers like Ansys, Abaqus etc.

There are certain limitations in hyperworks.
1.  Mesh controls are not stored.
2. Geometry handling features are far superior when compared to APDL but notthat good when compared to Design Modeler.

This has been the best analysis software I have ever used. I used this software for thermal analysis m=by meshing the 3 D models.

Some features like mesh retainment still misiing. The UI still needs dome work. Waiting for the nest release.

Actually In my previous companies right over in 90’s . I have used manual calculations for stress analysis of pressure vessels and piping structures but after hyperworks came into picture the interface and also the commands made my work lot easier for thermal analysis of pressure vessels

I have using hyper works only for a while but I can say they are far ahead in the industry and deliver very good results and a reasonable price.
