"Fast, Efficient Part Design and Quick Changes with Solid Edge"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

Desigcenter Soild Edge for a part design, assemblies and drawings. Its synchronous technology is particularly valuable when a customer needs a fast change, because I can update the model directly instead of rebuilding everything from scratch. Creating 3D parts from sketches is also efficient and the option to reuse existing components saves me a significant amount of time. I also use Teamcenter and share to collaborate with others and to share design data across the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

Large assemblies can slow things down at times and I've also experienced the software crashing. When you're new to Solid Edge, some of the more advanced features take a while to figure out, so there's definitely a learning curve. That said, beyond those points I don't have any major issues with and I'd still recommend giving it a try at least once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

I find a few common limitations with Designcenter Solid Edge, like performance bottlenecks with very massive models. There are also areas where user experience could be refined. When dealing with large assemblies, I've noticed stalling and loading latencies, which can be frustrating. Additionally, memory issues arise, and there are occasional inconsistencies in complex geometry handling, such as multibody modeling. Introducing a more driven magnetic assembly workflow could improve functionality. Targeted operational adjustments in these areas would be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Synchronous Technology, but a Steep Learning Curve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

What I appreciate most about Solid Edge is its game-changing Synchronous Technology. It really helps bridge the gap between the control of parametric design and the flexibility of direct modeling. Being able to modify complex 3D geometry on the fly—without worrying about broken feature trees or parent-child dependencies—saves a huge amount of design time, especially when revisions come up.

Its integration is good with other softwares, in terms of performance it does decent job, it is costly, support was ok , generative design function should be there Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

The biggest challenge for me is the steep learning curve that comes with Synchronous Technology. For engineers who are used to traditional parametric modeling, switching to direct modeling workflows can take a significant shift in mindset, and some of the adjustments can feel non-intuitive at first. generative design (AI) is not that good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Designed Faster, Collaborated Better, Errors Gone!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

Synchronous Technology is integrated into Designcenter Solid Edge for time-saving direct geometry editing that is independent of the sequence of commands. This forms the basis of several key features coordinated by the overarching Design Manager: Magnetic Snap Assembly for intelligent component placement, Automatic Drawing, and the Design Copilot. The assembler loves the intelligent placement of components in the Magnetic Snap Assembly feature, which suggests optimum connections and reduces assembly time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

It is extremely capable overall, but very large assemblies can become rather slow to move around, particularly if Teamcenter PDM is attempting to synchronise and/or retrieve data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Synchronous Technology and Parametric Control That Speeds Up Complex CAD Workflows"
4/5
What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?

Synchronous Technology & Parametric Control: The combination of synchronous technology and direct modeling noticeably speeds up complex 3D CAD design workflows. It makes it easier to edit large assemblies and adjust non-native CAD geometry in an intuitive way, without the usual hassle of feature-tree breakages, which helps save engineering time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?

Steep Learning Curve & Interface Clutter: The user interface can feel dated and overwhelming for new users, largely because of nested menus and overly complex toolbars. On top of that, the licensing costs and hardware requirements are high, and performance with large assemblies can slow down noticeably unless you have an optimal hardware configuration.
