What do you like best about Simcenter Amesim?

The vast library of pre-defined components allows us to model complex multi-domain systems (hydraulic, thermal, mechanical) very quickly. However, the standout feature for us is the co-simulation capability with STAR-CCM+. Being able to couple 1D system simulation with high-fidelity 3D CFD allows us to get the best of both worlds: the speed of system simulation and the accuracy of CFD for critical components! What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?

Due to the immense number of libraries and specialized verticals, the learning curve can be steep for new engineers trying to navigate all available options. What do you like best about Simcenter Amesim?

The libraries in Simcenter Amesim are very good and useful for our product development.

we can easily integrate Amesim models with Third party tools like Mathworks Simulink and Labview.

implementation of any physical system is very much easy and demo model will help alot.

RoM Builder is very good.

new features in 2410 version are very good for thermal management like heat exchangers.

Battery aging , thermal runaway, FoC Motor control models are very good, we have validated these models with field data

Hydraulics animation is very innovative

Histogram plot option is required for Data Analysis during field data validation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Simcenter Amesim solving and how is that benefiting you?

Simcenter Amesim was used for the development of the Electric Tractor and Power Shuttle Tractor.

This tool was used for plant model development for executing MiL/HiL along with controls on Speed Goat target machine.

"Ease of use with Detailed Dynamics"

What do you like best about Simcenter Amesim?

What I like most about Simcenter Amesim is first of all the separation of topics in various libraries, electrical, thermal, mechanical etcetera. On top of that the detailed submodels that are available for complex systems, such as batteries and fuel cells. However in the end what keeps surprising me each time, is the level of documentation and relevance of the help function. An underrated functionality which is necessary for your day-to-day work.

All of this helps to create an environment which is easy to use, easy to implement and integrate your project deliverables. That's why I would recommend it to any beginning or experienced engineer who's to do simulations on physical systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?

Troubleshooting when a model fails to compile or run, it is difficult to find the exact cause of this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Simcenter Amesim?

The documentation and demos available are great to rapidly create and test new simpler models. Detailed enough that you don't need to contact support.

What do you dislike about Simcenter Amesim?

The interface can be a bit clunky and there are a lot of niche functionalities which are not documented in detail.

We also hired individual training and they basically followed the demos existing in the help documentation.
